We had a really nice, hassle-free couple of days at The Genevieve. Parking was easy, check-in simple, and the hotel is small enough to feel welcoming. Every staff member that we encountered were gracious and helpful. The beds are wonderful and we walked to great restaurants. Perfect.

We were beyond delighted with the charm! Amazing cute place, a mini Broadmoor with a hot tub that didn’t stink of chemicals, amazing breakfast and service and a fabulous happy hour included too! Just the peaceful getaway we needed, would go back in a minute!!

My husband, my mother and I had a wonderful experience at the Genevieve hotel. The hotel was beautiful, with lovely grounds. The wine and cheese, desert bar and breakfast were delicious and we had a really nice dinner at the Victor. Highly recommend.

This place is adorable, the staff were super nice and attentive. The breakfast each morning was great, especially the made to order plates. I really loved the wine tasting passport they gave us at check in. We had a great couple days relaxing. If I had to nit pick something, I would say the layout of the room was a bit odd with the water closet being separate from the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a second lounge chair and table in front of the fireplace as well.

Just okay. Overpriced for what it is….but the historic charm is what they’re pricing. Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is limited for an hotel charging $700 per night. Staff are basically kids and locals so limited training but nice enough. Venue probably relies on weddings and events. It would get a higher rating at $3-400 per night, which is where it should be.

The adjacent landscaped grounds were lovely, especially after dark when multiple fire rings flame up. I personally do not like rating hotels. I feel they are all the same but the Genevieve Hotel has to
be one of the only hotels my family and I absolutely LOVED! It is clean, beyond beautiful, the staff was welcoming, the casino and Solvang super close. We absolutely loved it!! The only thing we wish for was, for the little town to have more fast food options. If only and we could’ve stayed longer.

The hotel was beautiful and classy. So beautifully decorated. I appreciated the fact that they included social hour with wine, desert time (cookie and pastries) and breakfast in the price. They also gave us wine \"passport\" which we could use for some freebies at local wineries.
The only thing that was slightly off - was the room representation. I booked deluxe king room and when we checked in, we received the room on the first floor that looked much smaller than it did on the pictures. The staff assured us that this is what the deluxe room is, so we had no choice but to believe it.
Other than that amenities were great - fireplace, in-room jacuzzi tub, robes - it was all there. And we had a wonderful time.

The hotel's ambience greeted us! From the warm French musical tones to the soft smell of vanilla, we felt a sense of relaxation which lasted during our stay.

The music \"followed\" us into our room and set the mood as we cozied up to the fireplace, released stress in the steam shower, and while the beds were softer than ours at home, we slept well.

The in-house services of breakfast of both continental and freshly prepared to order items, wine hour including a charcutier board, and the dessert hour gave us the opportunity to meet our fellow guests in the lovely parlor. All were unrushed and cozy. Attentive and friendly staff!

Dinner at The Victor was excellent! We shared the fresh greens and beet salad with a delicious vinaigrette dressing, but we each had an excellently cooked hamburger. The duck-fat-fried French fries were outstanding! Highly recommend; after all, we were on vacation!

The hotel is conveniently located to local wineries, other small towns, and the SY Chumash Museum. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance and the SY Historical Society's Museum is across the street.

We will be back!

Love that you can play the music in each individual room and control the volume. The bathtub is so fun and the shower has a steamer function. Breakfast was decent and the fireplaces around the property are a nice touch.

Wish the front desk staff had been a little more friendly however. They were nice, but cordial. They didn’t acknowledge our anniversary at any point also even though I put it on our reservation which I though was odd. Even just a nice note in the room would have been a nice touch but they didn’t do that. They also basically just handed me a paper with all the amenities rather than explaining everything to us at check in. So in general, I wish the front desk staff were more friendly.

Magnificent!
Everything about this hotel is wonderful, it is an underrated, first class, gem. The rates are very reasonable, making it an exceptional value. We stayed at two different hotels on this trip the Genevieve and another, both similarly rated. However, the Genevieve was miles ahead on every level. I’ve stayed at some very fine hotels, in many parts of the world and The Genevieve is right up with the best of them. The nice thing about this hotel, it has all that you would expect from a luxurious, first class accommodation, but without the pretentiousness. It is quiet, comfortable, a place you immediately feel relaxed. The architecture, grounds and interior are beautiful, private and accommodating. The only unfortunate thing, our stay was on the two days The Victor is closed, won’t make that mistake on our next visit.

This was our first time staying at The Genevieve. We were very pleased with our room and appreciated having two valets to use! Bathroom was spacious (though could have used more lighting) and nice having a balcony. Breakfast was included and bikes were available for use. Location was perfect as we were attending an event at Gainey Winery, which was just down the street.

The area was conveniently located to shops, restaurants and various wineries. Our room was quiet, didn't hear traffic noise but landscaping work could have been done a bit later in the day. The daily breakfast were delicious with varied menu. The happy hour was also good with white and red wine and excellent charcuterie. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Stayed in King Luxe, Premises were very nice, as was the hotel itself. Only disappointment was the food service. They have a big dining room with a roaring fire, but really two choices on menu, and the sandwich was quite lacking. Whatever the Victor is supposed to be, ultimately meals were at Olsen's in Solvang in the mornings, and SY Kitchen for dinner. Would still definitely go back to stay.

Excellent location in Santa Ynez area. The hotel is very high-end traditional design. Our room, located on the main floor, had a wonderful high ceiling, huge bathroom, fireplace, and ample room to stretch out. We loved the room and the main areas of the hotel.

We booked through Hotels.com and do not like that the pet fee for some hotels doesn't show up (but it does for some, so not sure if it's a hotel issue or hotels.com?). It's irritating to spend $350 on a room for a night and get hit with a $100 pet fee on top of that. Our dog is not $100 worth of effort to clean-up after and I'm sure it's per stay, but it's ridiculous to charge that for 1 night.

Hotels.com needs to clearly state to contact hotel directly if bringing a pet. Hotel has no place on site nor nearby for pet relief.
For this level of accommodation, the shower and jetted bathtub should be in working order. Great breakfast and peaceful grounds.

We stayed overnight and the property and the staff was great! It was a last minute booking and I didn’t realize that it had so many wonderful amenities until I got here so those were an added bonus.
