We booked a handicapped room and did not get one upon arrival. Thank goodness my husband showered in the morning prior to staying here, you book through Expedia but the hotel didn’t accommodate

This was my first day at this hotel, and it won’t be my last!. The staff accommodated me very well and I’m grateful for them!.
The room was spacious , clean and warm. The TV has many many channels. You’ll never get bored watching TV there lol.
Everything is in walking distance. It is very secure, because you need a key to get into the entryway of the hotel. I really loved that. And, also they have an elevator. That was a major plus. Great parking spaces close to the facility.
Thanks again for everything. I can’t wait to come back again soon. God willing!.!

Good overall but the only negative experience I had was with Oscar at the front desk. I went down around 8:30 p.m. to ask a simple question about whether food was still available at the lounge. He didn’t acknowledge me or looked at me, he was looking at his computer, browsing through a chat. I could clearly see this since I was standing to the side of the desk.

Without even making eye contact, he said, “Can you give me a minute?” in a very dry tone, even though no one else was waiting and he didn’t appear busy (continued to browse his chat). I waited a few seconds, but since he still didn’t acknowledge me or try to help, I just walked away.

That interaction left a bad impression. Guests should feel acknowledged and welcomed, even during a brief wait. Aside from that experience, everything else was fine.

Inside the room was clean. Balcony and hallway, not really. No closet in the room. Towels looked and felt old. Room was very noisy. The AC/Heater very loud when it kicked in. Guests drunk and loud past midnight. Shower head and water pressure was great. That is about the only thing that was great. The male staff upon checking in did not make any effort to be friendly or welcoming.

We were mystified by the reviews for this property. Our renovated “city view” room was located behind a bus stop, on the ground level of a very busy road, less than 20 ft from the road. The room was not very comfortable. The internet access was terrible, important because cell service in this location is also limited. We enjoyed Solvang and the location was walking distance to several restaurants but will stay somewhere else next time we visit.

Hotel is within walking distance to downtown area, which is convenient. The hotel is supposed to be smoke free, but we kept getting cigarette smoke odor in our room. The bed was uncomfortable and lumpy. The AC/heater unit is very loud when it's on. The shower pressure is extremely strong, felt like little pin pricks. The bath towels are gross, they are supposed to be white, they are so dingy, they look gray. I'm so glad I always travel with my own towel! Overall I would not stay here again.

Did not use pool or hot tub. Room was dated and the carpets were stained, it had been cleaned but felt dirty. Our bath tub did not empty easily and clogged up.
Oscar at front desk was helpful and moved us to another room.
Parking was good , we had no problem finding a spot and lighting was good.

I enjoyed my two night stay at the Vinland Hotel and Lounge. The beds were comfortable, shower had extraordinary pressure, ample bathroom counter space and delicious (and very strong) coffee available in the lobby. I’m also a fan of the Malin+Goetz body wash (just ordered some for home). The location is perfect and very walkable to all things Solvang. I would stay here again.

The location of this hotel is easily accessible through the main street. Check in was a smooth process where we then parked underground and were able to access our room fairly quick. The room was in great condition very clean and simple lay out. The highlight of our stay definitely had to be the 100's of goats right outside of our balcony. It was a great surprise to lean over and seeing all those beautiful animals right outside of our room. I would also like to mention the shower pressure in the shower had to of been one of the best showers I've had in a while. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the town we did get our voucher to the bakery next door which allowed us to try the local pastries which was a decent quick meal to fill the stomach. Anyone visiting dont forget to visit ostrichland a few minutes up the road!!

My husband & I came here for a little getaway for our anniversary. The property was clean, inviting, & cozy. The room was clean & cute!
Parking was easy & they even had EV charging! Its very close to all kinds of restaurants & shops. We will definitely stay here again:)

The lobby looked nice and welcoming, and we really enjoyed the large balcony with a great view. Unfortunately, our overall experience was still disappointing.

The hotel is not very stroller-friendly. From the parking area to the elevator for the lobby, there are several unavoidable steps that make access difficult. Traveling with a baby, a stroller, and luggage made this especially inconvenient.

We also had a few issues in the room. The shower head was leaking and spraying water in multiple directions, which left the bathroom floor completely wet. Additionally, when our child accidentally clogged the toilet (with a normal bowel movement), we notified the staff, but no one came to assist or resolve the issue.

Overall, while the hotel has some nice features, the lack of accessibility and slow response to maintenance concerns made our stay frustrating.

Room was clean but small. Nothing special about this hotel to be honest, especially not to warrant a $425 a night price tag. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world of better quality for almost half the price. The building is a little run down (marked carpets, stained stairwells, flaking paint and decaying wood on outside). The room itself was nice enough, with comfy beds and simple amenities (shampoo, body wash, conditioner, small fridge, hairdryer) but for the price should have been wildly more elevated. Little swimming pool and hot tub looked nice, the restaurant/bar was also small and cute. I took one star off for the simplicity and lack of upkeep outside and another for the wildly inflated price gouge for what is, ostensibly, just a very average hotel.

This hotel was in a great location right in the heart of Solvang. The pool and hot tub were lovely as well. The bar was very nice. Our room was quiet and we were able to get sleep as we were up and on the road by 6 am. Would definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.

This is a very cute hotel for its price point. The rooms are nice, our view of the valley was phenomenal, the lounge is clean and charming, the pool and hot tub are smallish but well laid out, the staff is lovely. Great location. The bathroom has a real door that isn't transparent, which is a big plus these days. Would 100% stay here again.

The stay was fine and it was really close to where we wanted to be, but the bathroom particularly was unkept. The walls had stains and so did the trashcan. There were a lot of scuffs and bottom of the bathroom door. The staff was very nice and helpful though. Just would prefer a cleaner bathroom.

It loom lime it was constructed in 2020, but maybe 1975. Too bad…I really wanted to like this place.

Came to the Vinland Hotel and Lounge to celebrate my fiancé and my engagement. The staff was so helpful and accommodating to make this special. We got the city view King bed room and I also ordered the sweetheart package, so the most charming bottle of champagne, chocolates and rose petals was in our room upon arrival. Our room was very clean and tidy. I loved the updated property, air conditioning worked great and the building felt very secure and safe. Parking was very easy and there was plenty of parking even for oversized vehicles with a 6’6” parking garage.

One thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was access to fresh water in our hotel room. It was a bit inconvenient that we had to go to the basement for filtered water, and when we texted the hotel staff, there wasn’t really a way for them to bring drinking water to our room which would have been nice since we were already tucked in for the night, but needed some water.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It was in a great location, within walking distance to all of the best restaurants and shops. Front desk staff, especially Lauren, were very helpful and pleasant to interact with. We would come back.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was clean and comfortable upon arrival, which we appreciated.

However, we were not informed that housekeeping services are only provided upon request. As a result, our room was not cleaned during our stay, and we had to deal with accumulating trash. This lack of communication was disappointing.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi did not work at all, which caused frustration, especially for my children. We also experienced significant noise at night due to a neighboring dog barking continuously, which made it difficult to rest.

Lastly, when booking, I was specifically looking for a hotel that includes breakfast, but this property does not offer it, which was misleading.

Overall, while the room itself was satisfactory, the lack of clear information, noise issues, and missing amenities negatively impacted our experience.

We enjoyed our stay at Vinland so much we didn’t want to go home. We stayed in the Zaca Mesa suite and I almost don’t want to let people know how awesome it is so I can have it all to myself. It was more than enough space for our family of 4 and 1 dog. The Vinland is walking distance from everything. The pool and hot tub were heated, towels were readily available, and the outdoor seating was comfy. I love how the Vin Lounge overlooks the pool too. The cold brew in the lobby was yummy. There was so much storage in our suite and the Malin + Goetz products were wonderful. Our balcony was the perfect size for us to enjoy. Parking was plentiful and we loved how most of it was underground. We will definitely be back!

Room was okay, beds were okay but the bathroom needed some cleaning. The tub needed to be cleaned better and the towels need to be replaced they were old and stained. Outside on the balcony we found spiders and spider webs. However I will stay again because of the location and because what I didn’t like is easy to fix. Other than that everything was good.

So we rented a room with a “valley view” the immediate area was overgrown and not much of a view through the trees. The hotel itself was very nice, close to town and clean.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room clean and well appointed. The hotel itself was very quiet, not a lot of noise like a lot of other places.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to Solvang.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed.
The heated pool was a huge plus, especially for winding down after exploring. Another highlight is the location it’s within walking distance to town, which made getting around super convenient without needing to drive.

We had a great stay! The property is located perfectly for walking around town. The staff were very attentive to our needs, we had a couple of hiccups with things in the room that didn’t function perfectly but lucky for us it didn’t affect our stay. Nevertheless, they were very willing to fix anything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

We know that they don’t offer room cleaning daily except upon request. So we requested the service and to get more towels. I even spoke to the housekeeper in Spanish to avoid any confusion, but neither of our rooms was cleaned. There are no phones in the rooms so the only way to communicate is to physically go down to the lobby, send a text, or call. There is only one elevator and it literally takes 5 minutes to arrive on any floor, so we don’t go in person. We chose to call but the recording specifically states that guest services must be submitted through their text service. So I sent a text! No response for several hours. Then when they replied they stated that a team member was supposed to have reached out to us….but the didn’t. I sent another text. No response again. When we checked out I asked to speak to the manager who was supposed to have arrived at 8 (according to their text). But that person was not available until noon. They were supposed to call us when they arrived but here we are another day and no response!

We do not know what has happened because we have stayed here several times in the past and they have been great. It’s been a couple of years but now the service was subpar this time around, with little to no response or concern.
