They double charged my card and did not follow up with me on the resolution. Mattress was extremely firm and hard to sleep on. Also I was not told in advance that I would have to pay with my credit card and I only had cash. They would not work with me on a solution. Poor communicaton

It was so nice. I never stayed at an Inn and it was very pleasant. The antennae didn’t work on the tv too much and I had to watch a playoffs game on my phone and that was the only issue I had. It was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice and friendly.

Passing through Buellton for a 1 night stay and greeted by cheerful staff. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was nice. Fairly quiet as it was a week day and left early the next morning. Pleasantly surprised.

I stayed overnight at the Sideways Inn and was very pleased with my experience there. The room (I stayed in Room 234 where Miles and Jack stayed) was clean and the property was well maintained. I was given a $12 food/drink voucher for Sideways Lounge which I used for 2 free drinks. The location was great and in walking distance to both AJ Spurs and the Hitching Post II (both featured in the movie Sideways). The staff were adequate though not very friendly and breakfast consisted of coffee and a donut, so nothing special. I stayed at the hotel after visiting numerous filming sites for the movie. Overall I was very pleased with Buellton and the Sideways Inn and would highly recommend the hotel.

Surprisingly quiet for being closer to the freeway. We stayed on the far side so that may have helped. Staff were very nice, hot tub was hot, can’t complain. Beds were a little hard but comfortable overall.

The hotel was remodeled recently, but unfortunately the renovation appears to have been poorly done. The rooms are very dark, and the only window faces a walkway where other guests pass by on their way to their rooms, offering little privacy. The shower does not function properly, and water spreads throughout the entire bathroom when you use it.
On a positive note, parking is convenient and the staff are satisfactory. I didn’t have the opportunity to try the restaurant or bar during my stay.

Check-in was fast and very friendly. Room was large and modern. Bar was very cool - amazing to see the differences from the early 2000s! Loved the donuts and coffee/tea in the morning, not to mention mimosas on Sunday. The only thing that has not been updated since my visits many years ago was the pool - which looked fine but not "glam" like the rest of the place.

Parking was easy. Check in was easy.
Staff at the lounge were unfriendly.
Had the “cave” room and it really lived up to the name! They shouldn’t even have rooms in that area.
Beds were horrible. Bathroom floor didn’t seem clean.
Would not stay there again.

The property was old but updated. Everything worked ( especially pleased with the jacuzzi!). The only issue was that the light over the bed was not accessible to a night stand. The light was on one side the nightstand in the middle of the two beds. Awkward. I just moved a chair to that side.

The rest of the room was very accommodating.

This is a great hotel to stay at. Clean, with comfortable beds. My only suggestion would be to request a room on the opposite side of the freeway. The noise from the freeway is definitely noticeable at night. Free coffee and doughnuts in the lobby are a nice touch!! They give you a coupon for $12 for a drink in the lounge.

Parking was right in front of our room. We traveled on a weekday which made everything easy and breezy. The room is comfy, cute & clean. The lobby serves coffee and donuts from a local shop in the morning. Bacon maple donuts anyone? They have a gym, a bar/lounge and several fire pits on the property. Buellton and Solvang are really happening since they made the movie Sideways, hence the name of the hotel. This hotel welcomes well behaved dogs and there is a dog run on the property and a dog park nearby. Two places nearby that one must go to is Industrial Eats and Vega Vineyards. IE has excellent food and the best Caesar salad especially if you love garlic. Vega has great wines, delicious food and beautiful grounds. There are many animals in the back to visit. Goats, chickens, emu’s etc.

Bar was well stocked, nice crowd, friendly staff and visitors, very clean, spacious, fireplace outside and inside, and great chicken wings.
Didn't use the hot tub this time, but it was clean, the pool too. Last visit, temp of hot tub was perfect.
Fresh hot coffee complimentary, sometimes donuts too.
Rooms clean, clean refrigerator, clean microwave, and comfortable beds.

The walls of these rooms are soo thin. We were woken up multiple times from people at the trailer park next door, other guests, and a 10pm rocket launch at vandenberg. I also wasn’t aware that staying two nights wasn’t long enough to receive housekeeping which I thought was odd. The staff was nice but not a relaxing stay to say the least

The only thing that I didn’t care for was with the nice wood floors when you’re on the first floor it’s noisy if there’s someone above you, the people above me kept up late because they were walking back-and-forth after midnight
Next time I wanna ask for an interior facing roomas well because the dog kept hearing cars and people, and it was making him bark

We stumbled across this hotel last minute on a road trip along the cost. Wow! We were pleasantly surprised,conveniently its right off the freeway, we got a room with balcony facing the pool. We walked around the property its connected to an RV with cabins park. Its clean and so adorable. And I read they have the best donuts with coffee in the lobby in the morning. Oh yeah delicious donuts. Highly recommend this hotel and if we're in the area this will be our spot to get some rest.

It was a very efficient and convenient place to stay. The staff were very friendly. That weekend was a bit overpriced, though, so I wouldn't say it was a good value. The shower was the worst part and pretty much ensured I would not stay there again. Twelve tiny streams that pierced your skin like needles but somehow you still couldn't get wet. The shower head was too high to reach so I don't know if it was adjustable. The donuts and coffee were good.

it was overall decent, however - There was one guest who dominated using the hot tub for 5 to 6 hours straight a couple nights, drinking a bunch of beers and not leaving the hot tub for the bathroom. Not many people wanted to join, use the hot tub. I notified the staff, but they were OK with it - not me, gross and lack of compassion for other guests.

Everything was awesome it's my 4th or 5th stay there it's super clean it looks nice we love the pool and the pub/Lounge across the parking lot from the hotel. They used to provide a little breakfast in the morning but now they just do coffee but that is Santa Barbara roasting company which is really good and these local Donuts which are also quite good . But there are so many great places to have breakfast when you're in the area .You can wander over to the Flying Flags RV park which has a lot of activities for kids. The adults have wine tasting venues and some of the most amazing food you will ever have. I almost don't want to post this review because then everybody will know how wonderful it is and then we won't be able to get a reservation and we're mostly locals 😄

If you are using the movie as a context, the rooms are much better and the bar not anything like the warmth the actors and bartender enjoyed. Very good value for the stay. Clean and safe and near all. Get your wine grove on elsewhere and crash here...happy landings.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sideways Inn. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room itself was spacious and welcoming, perfect for relaxing after a long day of wine tasting. The only thing that could use a little attention is the shower heads, which could definitely be improved. Overall, though, it was a great experience and we’d happily stay again.

Put us in a handicapped room for some reason. The shower was very hard to use bc the shower head was meant for someone sitting down and the whole bathroom flooded. There was an open soda can in the room when arrived as well. The curtains done block light and its pretty load from other guests and staff walking around the bulding.

This was our first stay at Sideways Inn, but definitely not our last! We have family in the area, and it was a wonderful, pet-friendly place to stay and get to bring our dog along! The office staff and housekeepers were friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the local blend coffee and fresh gourmet donuts were such a welcoming touch! We didn't have time to try the restaurant, but plan to do so on our next visit!

The room was nice and clean, with a pool side view. Very close to a market and to downtown Solvang. I didn’t spend much time at the hotel but there is a restaurant/bar onsite. The lobby had free coffee and donuts which was nice. Staff were nice and respectful.
