What a great spot
Nereida
The hotel and property were very nice. The rooms were very nice and we loved being able to use the sliding door to access the pool right by our room. The only complaint is the hot tub’s water was a little dirty, we used it but we made sure to shower really well afterwards lol
Grace
Reception on TV poor. Inconsistent internet.
John
Great place to stay. Close to everything and the room was nice and clean.
Matthew
Very close to Solvang, 10 minute drive max. The staff were very polite and made checking in and out a breeze. Parking was no problem, since you park right in front of your room. The room itself was very clean and neat. They have nice amentities to accomodate your stay; such as fire pits, pool, and a lounge. The lounge itself was my favorite part. The bartenders were nice, the beer tasted great, and the aesthetic was cozy. I would come back on my next visit to Solvang!
Enrique
Mi familia y yo estuvimos haciendo un road trip por el freeway 101 y 1 y tuvimos la oportunidad de llegar a este precioso lugar encontramos este hotel y la verdad es excelente lo recomiendo 10/10
Michelle
We booked here for my birthday to go wine tasting with friends. We got to our room first and checked in and were super disappointed by our room. We were so disappointed that I considered going home. We asked the front desk what was up with our room and they moved us to a non-accessible room which was a million times better. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. The coffee on the lobby is really good!
Glenn
Close to Solvang, for the family. Close to Firestone Walker, for me. Room was comfortable. Staff is very helpful.
Heidi
Room was very clean. The chairs in the room were comfy. Plenty of drawers and space.
Tracey
The parking was easy and all the staff was great
Lisa
Room was clean and quiet, but the cable reception was terrible unfortunately; could not even get through 5 minutes of a movie without the service cutting in and out repeatedly. Appreciated the complimentary coffee in the lobby though. Onsite bar/restaurant was nice for a cocktail and a quick bite (the beef tallow fries with a variety of sauces was good) but the bartender service was strangely slow with 3 bartenders and it was not very busy.
Mike
Mediocre at bed
Decent shower, really stiff bed, ridiculous chairs, pillows sucked… Decent artwork on the wall walls

The hotel is clean and conveniently saturated near wineries and only a few miles from Solvang.

Staff was amazing. Love coming here. Staff at bar was very welcoming also. Full bar and outdoor area in peaceful weather amazing

Great price. Great location. Pool open late. Free breakfast. The onsite bar was awesome!
STEVEN
We had a very nice stay. Staff was awesome.
The free donuts and coffee and the lobby in the morning were just fantastic. The room was charming and clean.

Cute property, clean and basic. Great price

Very nice place to visit Solvang. It’s close to the freeway and you don’t have to fight the crowds and noise if you stay in Solvang. It’s just a 10 minute drive from the hotel.
Nicholas
Sideways Inn It's okay for the price, but manage your expectations
Stayed here on a trip to Solvang and it was fine for what we paid, though I expected a little more. The rooms could use an update, they feel dated rather than light and modern. The biggest issue was the beds, which were hard as a rock and not great if you're hoping for a good night's sleep.
Noise is also something to know about. There were kids playing outside late into the night and you can hear pretty much everything from inside the room.
On the plus side, the location is solid if Solvang is your destination. Just be aware that if a comfortable bed and a quiet, restful stay are priorities for you, this place feels a bit run down and might not be the right fit.

Gem of a property, located right off US 101, just a 30 min drive from Santa Barbara. Extremely well maintained and the lobby give off a rustic yet modern vibe. Lovely amenities like a pool and a fully stocked gym. Staff was warm, courteous and gave us recommendations for local wine tasting.
Orieta
Quiet, clean, kids friendly with great service a few minutes away from Solvang.
Angela M
I love staying here. It’s so close to everything and the staff are fantastic.
Jonah
Had an amazing time here.
Jeffery
Clean and nicely kept up. Right off the freeway so easy access and close to gas and stores! Also, they had some great donuts up front (maple bacon). All around good experience!
Julia
Great service, location, warm pool, and fresh doughnuts and Santa Barbara Coffee served in the morning
Manuel

Edward
The property was very nice. The tv reception was very spotty.
Lisa
Wished they would of let me check in early
Shelly
Good location but ask for a room away from the freeway. Very loud. Lounge is great with excellent staff.
anthony
Clean room, staff good, need more variety breakfast stuff
Dana
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We just needed the soap in the shower refilled as it was empty. The lounge was nice and the drinks and snacks were good.
Kelli
Great price, cute property, nice and clean rooms, awesome pool are for kiddos. Friendly staff!
Penny
We absolutely loved this place and will return. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the amenities are great, and the location was perfect.

The Sideways Inn is a good choice if you're looking for comfort and convenient location at a reasonable price. The property is well-maintained. My King room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and nice shower. The front-desk staff was courteous and efficient. The Sideways Lounge was fun--great bartender, live music, and delicious light food (the Polish sausage dog was excellent). I thought the room needed better lighting. The TV kept pixelating and even going out. And if your stay is less than 4 days you won't get housekeeping service. Come on, you shouldn't have to request to at least have the trash emptied.
Dan
My partner and I had an incredible stay at the sideways Inn for three nights. Even though the hot tub wasn’t working the first evening, they had it fixed by the next morning. It’s a lovely place for a quick getaway.
Nisheth
nice hotel, clean spacious rooms , checkin staff helpful, donuts for breakfast :-)
We did not get to enjoy the other amenities like fire pit, pool, gym, or the on-site restaurant, but it all looked well maintained and clean.

Had a terrible stay but the supervisor took care of the problems when we checked out. We had stayed at the hotel before without an issue but daytime staff this time was not very helpful which made our stay uncomfortable.
We do praise the supervisor as he checked out our complaints and made a satisfactory response to our stay.

Amenities, lounge and staff were great. The lounge was fun in the evening after a long day of eine tasting and exploring. The staff lit the firepit in the morning while we enjoyed our coffee which was very kind! Room was clean and in a nice safe location with some good restaurants and breakfast spots a short jump away. Couple of drawbacks: 1- everyone with a courtyard room can be heard from other rooms with patio door open. 2. Lighting is a bit dark. 3. There are not enough mirrors for a shared room with multiple girlfriends. We will definitely be back!!!
David
Everything was great! Thanks so much!
Alex
Hotel is a bit dated. Todd at the front desk was great during check-in difficulty. During my stay, buddies and I had trouble with locks on bathroom doors in the rooms. Spider webs on sliding doors and mattresses are more than firm. Not worth the price-tag of 1,000 dollars we paid for two nights.
Eric
Bathroom was a bit on smelly, rough side. Had a strong urine odor that couldn't be found. Besides that, room was nice, beds were fine and plenty of parking. Would stay again and hope for a less smelly bathroom and toilet area.
Cindy
Staff was so friendly and helpful!! Bar was nice and property is in a perfect location
Margrit
This was a very nice hotel, very attractive. We had a small dog and it was very pet friendly as well. The 3 EV chargers on site were accessible and readily available. It wasn't an overly busy weekend which suited us just fine. The room itself was large, roomy, very nicely appointed.
Barbara
Next to RV park but once quiet hours start, you can't hear their music anymore. Room & bathroom are spacious.
JR
Very nice and clean in the atmosphere was beautiful
Lauren
Nice experience, very clean.
Tv options were no good. Other than that it was good

This inn and room are nicely remodeled. But the beds were very disappointing. Having experienced many hotels and ABNBs - the beds in this room 102 were the least comfortable compared to any I've ever slept in. Both mattresses in the room were wore down where you can feel the wire frames! I requested a mattress replacement since I have chronic back and neck issues. Front desk mentioned \"there are none and housekeeping has no time. I will ask my manager to see if there are any open rooms to switch you to.\" Never got a call back either way, which made me think my complaint wasn't important to them. Perhaps there were no other rooms, but the non responsive customer service made the experience here even more disappointing. If beds are important to you, don't reserve at this Inn.
Jose
I like the pool, jacuzzi didn’t have time to enjoy them this time but the firepit was exelente 👍👍
David
Friendly and efficient. Front desk excellent.
Kari
They double charged my card and did not follow up with me on the resolution. Mattress was extremely firm and hard to sleep on. Also I was not told in advance that I would have to pay with my credit card and I only had cash. They would not work with me on a solution. Poor communicaton
Jenny
I loved my stay at the sideways check in was so easy and the staff made the stay very welcoming and easy to get to my room very beautiful hotel will most definitely be booking again in August
Joycelyn
It was so nice. I never stayed at an Inn and it was very pleasant. The antennae didn’t work on the tv too much and I had to watch a playoffs game on my phone and that was the only issue I had. It was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice and friendly.
Megan
Amazing property with helpful staff and great food options all around you!
Gina
Passing through Buellton for a 1 night stay and greeted by cheerful staff. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was nice. Fairly quiet as it was a week day and left early the next morning. Pleasantly surprised.
Blake
Parking was good but some trash on the property and and no poop bags in the dog potty area. Most staff were nice one was rude about the towel situation for the pool. Rooms were clean and amentities were nice.
Julia
Great location, Very helpful and friendly staff,
Joel
A decent vibe and nice recognition of the local history that gave you a sense of place. But a little pricey for me for a fairly basic experience, with only donuts as the breakfast highlight.
Jeelna
Parking was easy and electric car chargers also available at a cost although slow. Still a great amenity to have.
Camilla
Had a nice stay!
Monserrat
Clean rooms, safe location, and great bar drinks and prices.
We'll come back!

I stayed overnight at the Sideways Inn and was very pleased with my experience there. The room (I stayed in Room 234 where Miles and Jack stayed) was clean and the property was well maintained. I was given a $12 food/drink voucher for Sideways Lounge which I used for 2 free drinks. The location was great and in walking distance to both AJ Spurs and the Hitching Post II (both featured in the movie Sideways). The staff were adequate though not very friendly and breakfast consisted of coffee and a donut, so nothing special. I stayed at the hotel after visiting numerous filming sites for the movie. Overall I was very pleased with Buellton and the Sideways Inn and would highly recommend the hotel.
Paola
I enjoyed my room but was hoping for a view.
Sarah
Surprisingly quiet for being closer to the freeway. We stayed on the far side so that may have helped. Staff were very nice, hot tub was hot, can’t complain. Beds were a little hard but comfortable overall.
Michael
Very nice room and property.
trina lorraine
Cable TV went out; sliding glass door lock while we were on little deck. Room was very quiet and clean. Somewhat hard to enter and exit
Siyun
Solid
Gregg
parked right outside room unsecured.

The hotel was remodeled recently, but unfortunately the renovation appears to have been poorly done. The rooms are very dark, and the only window faces a walkway where other guests pass by on their way to their rooms, offering little privacy. The shower does not function properly, and water spreads throughout the entire bathroom when you use it.
On a positive note, parking is convenient and the staff are satisfactory. I didn’t have the opportunity to try the restaurant or bar during my stay.

didn't go to the bar
Kristin
Room was ok. Run down. Hair in shower upon arrival. Shower head needed to be cleaned. AC did not work. Donuts and coffee were good.
Elizabeth
Perfect ample parking. Staff was attentive and very helpful. The wings and food from the food trailer, exceptional!!!
Toni
Check-in was fast and very friendly. Room was large and modern. Bar was very cool - amazing to see the differences from the early 2000s! Loved the donuts and coffee/tea in the morning, not to mention mimosas on Sunday. The only thing that has not been updated since my visits many years ago was the pool - which looked fine but not \"glam\" like the rest of the place.
Charles
The TV reception was not working. Lighting in the room was poor.
Vanessa
Parking was easy. Check in was easy.
Staff at the lounge were unfriendly.
Had the “cave” room and it really lived up to the name! They shouldn’t even have rooms in that area.
Beds were horrible. Bathroom floor didn’t seem clean.
Would not stay there again.

The property was old but updated. Everything worked ( especially pleased with the jacuzzi!). The only issue was that the light over the bed was not accessible to a night stand. The light was on one side the nightstand in the middle of the two beds. Awkward. I just moved a chair to that side.
The rest of the room was very accommodating.

This is a great hotel to stay at. Clean, with comfortable beds. My only suggestion would be to request a room on the opposite side of the freeway. The noise from the freeway is definitely noticeable at night. Free coffee and doughnuts in the lobby are a nice touch!! They give you a coupon for $12 for a drink in the lounge.
Heather
Good hotel. Staff was not super helpful
Shirley
Parking was right in front of our room. We traveled on a weekday which made everything easy and breezy. The room is comfy, cute & clean. The lobby serves coffee and donuts from a local shop in the morning. Bacon maple donuts anyone? They have a gym, a bar/lounge and several fire pits on the property. Buellton and Solvang are really happening since they made the movie Sideways, hence the name of the hotel. This hotel welcomes well behaved dogs and there is a dog run on the property and a dog park nearby. Two places nearby that one must go to is Industrial Eats and Vega Vineyards. IE has excellent food and the best Caesar salad especially if you love garlic. Vega has great wines, delicious food and beautiful grounds. There are many animals in the back to visit. Goats, chickens, emu’s etc.
Jonathan
The front desk attendees Jamie and Naomi were super friendly and helpful! 5 stars go to them
Charlene

Great place to stay
Pete
didn't like facing the freeway. also door was not sound proof.
Sharon
Bar was well stocked, nice crowd, friendly staff and visitors, very clean, spacious, fireplace outside and inside, and great chicken wings.
Didn't use the hot tub this time, but it was clean, the pool too. Last visit, temp of hot tub was perfect.
Fresh hot coffee complimentary, sometimes donuts too.
Rooms clean, clean refrigerator, clean microwave, and comfortable beds.

The walls of these rooms are soo thin. We were woken up multiple times from people at the trailer park next door, other guests, and a 10pm rocket launch at vandenberg. I also wasn’t aware that staying two nights wasn’t long enough to receive housekeeping which I thought was odd. The staff was nice but not a relaxing stay to say the least
