The place claims it’s a nonsmoking property, but the hallway, elevator and room had a heavy cigarette smells. If you are traveling in the summer, please book another place. The AC does not function.

The hotel and the location was very pretty!!! The room was awesome with a very nice view. Staff was very polite and helpful. The only problem was breakfast. On booking it said that breakfast was included in the booking so we were expecting a free buffet breakfast but on arriving the staff informed that the breakfast is not included and that we’ll have to pay 16.99 per person. She said that people usually think breakfast is included but it’s not specially with the online booking its most definitely not. So that was a bummer other than that its a very good hotel

The hotel itself looks dilapidated around the corners (elevator, lobby, front of building). Nevertheless the room were very comfortable (no A/C because of the central system was out of service \"WOW\" - they provided a fan that helped, nevertheless the central system was set for heating \"No A/C).
Room service is not done daily, it was done in our third day because we requested it. Bathroom toiletries two towels for four days, one soap and one shampoo - unless you go to the front desk and ask for them. Is not worthy because of the location is far away from the old town and all landmarks. I will not pick on a future travel.

Exterior needs a lot (A LOT) of cleaning and good gardener. This make the hotel look abandoned.

hair blower broken but a member of the crew took pic and was supposed to fix the day after...stayed another 3 days and not fixed (problem when you have long hair). couldn t get the temperature below 25oc...was hot..beside that all was very good

DO NOT STAY HERE!! it is an extremely old hotel that has not been updated and probably 40 years. Our first room smelled like old cigarette smoke. When I told the front staff, they moved us up a couple of floors which turned out to be even worse, the hallways and room reeked of old stale cigarette smoke, which instantly gave me a headache. There was also a strange buzzing sound coming from the ceiling that was too hard to ignore and gum pushed into the peep hole. When I asked for a refund, the staff told me that the manager was not in until Monday and I would have to wait to approve it through her. There has been no follow up since.

The property itself is fine and the staff were friendly.
But there were too many things wrong. There was no A/C so our room was 25 C the entire weekend with no way to cool it down. They lent us a fan, which helped a bit.
Our TV wasn't working. They tried to fix it, but weren't able to.
We had the room booked for four people, only to have 2 full-sized towels in our room.
The 2nd floor is great for hanging out with others.

For the price of 16.99$ per person the buffet had little choice so did not eat there.
When we got to our room it was very hot 25C and then we were told the air conditioning had been down for a few days. It won't be repaired during our 3 night stay. Then we were asked if we wanted a fan. Totally unacceptable. For 3 days we asked to speak to the manager and for 3 days we were told she was away or in meetings or no where to be found. I expect compensation without fail or I will definitely take this further. Expedia has to get involved.

From the beginning there was disappointment. They could not access my confirmation with Expedia. I had to insist that was the rate i was paying and not more. I had to request refill room products 3 times before they delivered. Our TV was not working at first. There was no free continental breakfast. There was no room tidy up. The reception desk staff were pleasant and helpful, to a degree.

Hotel lobby was nice, fairly clean overall. But the pool was closed and we booked this Hotel for that reason (kids).

The room temperature was over 26°C, no way to adjust, and no fans available.

After 2 hot showers the smoke detector alarmed which led to management coming in, and catching my daughter and I half naked while getting dressed. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the hot steam made the room even warmer which made getting ready for a dance competition quite challenging.

The coffee shop only opens at 7am, and as usual the in room coffee was nasty.

The lady at check-in was nice and helpful but the one at check out was not courteous at all. We had arranged for a later check out of noon and when we checked out a bit earlier at 11:30am she was not very nice and instead of asking us if we had a nice stay or at least make a friendly greeting, she said abruptly check out was at 11:00 so I told her we had a late check out as arranged by the previous person in the evening when we got in the night before. She did not apologize and said ok. By the way we checked in the first night late and went to bed but in morning when I jumped in the shower there were no towels! Not great and very disappointed!

My stay for two nights in April 2026 was comfortable and enjoyable. The price was very competitive and value for cost was great. The staff were friendly and competent. Parking was easy and affordable. I enjoyed the nearby community of Hull with lots of nice bars, cafés and restaurants, and downtown Ottawa is close by. My room was comfortable and well equipped. However, it had an old musty smell and although the heat worked fine and was quiet, there seemed to be no air conditioning. I was offered a fan which did help to make my sleep restful, but this was not ideal.

It looks is short in staff too, no towels provided to our room and despite advertising for parking, still paid CAD 14.00.

My last visit was so lovely - the staff, the room, everything. This time, the check-in was great, but everything went downhill after that. There was a loud random knocking from some fan that came and went all night and kept me from sleeping. Not a background AC/Heat vent but knocking. Then, waking up late and exhausted, and showering in a hurry, I realized that there were no bath towels. When I told the front desk at checkout, I got zero sympathy. \"We're undergoing renos, there are fans on\" and, \"We have towels right here, you should have called us\". No time or desire to argue about this.
Yes. Normally, a quick call works. But what if your clients are there to sleep and then need to quickly shower and leave, can they expect they'll be able to do this when they book a room in your hotel?

Room was clean, but had shower over bath with curtain, rather than walk in style. I would’ve preferred a kettle to boil water for tea rather than use coffee pod machine in room. Staff friendly and helpful, but not all able to speak fluent English - understandable as Quebec is French speaking - but good to know this beforehand. Hotel is close to Ottawa (10 min taxi ride to CBD). Buffet breakfast on offer was a nice selection of fresh fruits, cereals, hot foods, breads - additional charge but I thought was worthwhile, and there were no nearby alternatives to go to. Would recommend to solo traveller - I felt safe staying there.

This is an hotel that is trying to come back from the ashes, it is doing it slowly. The location is convenient, there is a construction site next door, so it’s quite noisy from time to time. The rooms are quite tired, but they charge you exactly what you get, and for that reason I would recommend the hotel for people visiting Gatineau and Ottawa, it is convenient. Breakfast is not the best one, recommend to walk two blocks to the Starbucks that is nearby.

The staff was great at the property. They accommodated a room change part way though our stay.

The first room was 26 degrees and wasn't nearly as clean as the 2nd room. We found a used shower cap, stray hairs in / on the bed and cockroach in the bathroom calling up the shower walls.

The 2nd room had a more manageable temperature and was markedly cleaner than the first room.

The property appears to be going through a branding change. The pool was closed and there appeared to be a general problem with the HVAC controls in the guest rooms.

We probably would not stay here again if in the area.

It was a good experience, but I had issues with the power outage that lasted for over 2 hours in the morning, they said it was occurring everywhere. As a hotel running a business and I expected they have a back up plan like a generator, in case situations like this arises.

Honestly, for the price, this place delivers. The room was in good condition, and the mattress was surprisingly comfortable — I had a solid night’s sleep.

Simple setup, nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. If you’re looking for something affordable and decent, this is a good option.

Pros: The room seemed pretty clean. The staff was incredibly nice and bilingual which was nice. They are super helpful with everything. There is a grocery store near by.

I thought that breakfast was included, but it is NOT. It says parking \"available\".....NOT free parking....parking cost $14 a night (I was not prepared for that). The room was clean but the window with the really nice view was very dirty. The bed was very comforatble and the room was a very nice size. The fact that you can close a second door and keep the noise of the hallway out was a nice bonus.
