We had some issues with the washing machine, however the on site staff allowed us to use a machine in an unoccupied suite, the following day our machine was replaced. So hats off to them for sorting things out very quickly.

No housekeeping was done but called the after hours line and they told me where I could get an extra towel and they brought us a second robe since the room only had 1 when we got there. The apartment was very clean and modern. The staff were responsive and professional at all hours . The kitchen was supplied with all the essential appliances , cutlery , and dishes. Bank Street, a half a block away has numerous homeless but did not interfere in hour walks. The residence is very well positioned to a variety of museums, parliment , Byard market, and Rideau Mall.

Self-check-in was easy. Thanks for texting me prior to my arrival that my apartment number had changed and texting me instructions, as well as sending the information via email.
When I entered the unit, some lights and both TVs were on; it was welcoming and warm. The unit's furnace was on which was nice since the daytime temp was in the -20s Celsius upon my arrival.
The 7th floor one bedroom apartment was very clean and modern (north facing, no balcony), and included kitchen cookware, microwave, kettle, toaster, Keurig (with two coffee pods), dishware and utensils, cutting board, Wi-Fi, two TVs (Rogers service), fridge with bottom freezer, dishwasher, compact washer & dryer. Lots of cupboard and drawer space. Modern bathroom, King sized bed with two end tables and closet storage.
All appliances and the furnace were easy to operate. The unit was cleaned once during my two-week stay which was fine with me. There was a broom and dustpan for my use. I never used the dishwasher.
Included: laundry detergent, dryer sheets and dish soap, hand soap, small bottles of hand cream, shampoo and conditioner, and extra toilet paper, tissues and paper towel. Garbage chute access on the same floor, two elevators (with security cameras) and bright hallways.
The central location was fantastic for a solo traveler with no vehicle. The building itself was clean, bright and quiet.

My wife and I were visiting family for the holidays and stayed here for 7 nights. We opted for something more spacious than a hotel room, that could offer a living area, kitchen and separate bedroom. Great place overall. Nicely designed, great location. Great views of the city. Smart TVs in the living room and bedroom with each their own cable box made it very convenient for the times we just wanted to stay in and watch our favorite shows. Huge plus having a washer and dryer in the unit. The building has a gym, a sauna & a pool. It also has a theater but we were told only residents could use it. Management is very responsive and accommodating. Having access to parking garage (for a fee) was also convenient as we drove in from out of the country and didn't have to figure that part out.
Now the less ideal part. The bedroom was a bit on the smaller side but still fine for 2 people.
The bed itself was decent, although it took us a couple of nights to adjust. The main reason why I'm taking a star off the rating is that the bedroom has a curtain but it is NOT blackout. My sleep is very sensitive to light and the room needs to be almost if not pitch black. The bathroom had several hairs in various locations, large and small, and it was like that episode of Seinfeld trying to splash them all away. We recently stayed in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite at Soho Lisgar and were very pleased with our experience. The self check-in process was simple and convenient, and the property was clean and well maintained. The suite itself was a good size and came with everything we needed — a full kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, stove, oven, and a large fridge with a freezer on the bottom. It even had a washer and dryer, which was a great bonus for a longer stay.
The beds were very comfortable, and overall the suite was quiet, though we did hear the occasional siren at night — to be expected when staying downtown. We enjoyed being able to cook breakfast and dinner right in the suite. Having a Farm Boy grocery store just a few blocks away made picking up groceries very convenient.
One of the main reasons we chose Soho Lisgar was because it offered a parking garage. Street parking downtown is expensive, and the nearby lot is usually packed during the day. On one day, the parkade garage door was being replaced, so we were given the option to leave our car inside or park elsewhere, and management covered the outside parking cost — a nice touch.
If we had to mention any minor improvements, it would be to add a few more kitchen items, like a spatula, serving spoons, oven mitts, a muffin tin, and a frying pan (there were pots but no frying pan).
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely book again the next time we’re in Ottawa!

This hotel charges an unadvertised daily fee on top of the amount quoted on Expedia so you don't know what you will be paying. This is dishonest behaviour. Expedia spoke to the hotel manager (Kathy) who agreed to reimburse this charge. They never did make the reimbursement. Additionally the internet connection was so slow so as to be unusable. Cannot recommend.

Our stay (our first) was fantastic! Check in to retrieve building and parking fobs and room keys was clearly communicated and very smooth and easy. Parking was a breeze underground. Our room was stunning with a balcony, kitchen with amenities and supplies and bedroom with bath. The building is quiet and solid. Clear instructions are great Ben with key pickup on how to get assistance if needed. Washer and dryer was a real plus! Lots of closet and drawer and shelf space. Can’t wait to go back!

Great location on a quiet downtown street! Walking distance to Byward Market, University of Ottawa, Parliament Hill and many other attractions. The hotel is a few blocks from a Farm Boy for grocery shopping and there are many restaurants and pubs nearby on Elgin St and Bank St.

The property was modern, clean and comfortable. It was conveniently located near walkable dining and grocery options and was also close enough to downtown tourist attractions to be able to get there on foot.
We felt that a few things could have been better:
1. The TV sets in the property were unable to be \"found\" by our tablet devices and so we were unable to cast our favourite streaming services to them and had to watch them on our tablets. Not sure if this is because the TVs were older models. The cable channels that were provided weren't of much interest to us.
2. The sliding doors on the bedroom closet wouldn't stay open and had to be held with one's foot while getting clothes out or putting them away.
3. Blackout lining on the blinds would make sleeping easier in summer. The frosted glass door on the bedroom door did nothing to keep the light out after 4am when the sun started to lighten the sky.
4. Small things to enhance guest convenience and comfort: There's a nice kitchen, but no basic supplies like salt and pepper, or sachets of sugar; only two coffee pods were provided - we had to ask for more (which were supplied, but it would've been better not to have to ask); liquid body wash for showering would have been preferable to bar soap (I know this is a personal preference, but it wouldn't cost much to provide in addition).
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend SOHO Residences Lisgar to others wanting to visit Ottawa.

Not sure if this is because the TVs were older models. The cable channels that were provided weren't of much interest to us.
2. The sliding doors on the bedroom closet wouldn't stay open and had to be held with one's foot while getting clothes out or putting them away.
3. Blackout lining on the blinds would make sleeping easier in summer. The frosted glass door on the bedroom door did nothing to keep the light out after 4am when the sun started to lighten the sky.

Small things to enhance guest convenience and comfort: There's a nice kitchen, but no basic supplies like salt and pepper, or sachets of sugar; only two coffee pods were provided - we had to ask for more (which were supplied, but it would've been better not to have to ask); liquid body wash for showering would have been preferable to bar soap (I know this is a personal preference, but it wouldn't cost much to provide in addition).
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend SOHO Residences Lisgar to others wanting to visit Ottawa.

There was a little pump with contactless check-in when the keys were left in a different mailbox with what informed, took the security guy 20 minutes to come for the rescue, but it was all good afterward and I heard that their service was 24/7.

Our family of 4, this stay was perfect. All amenities provided. Bedrooms were good sized lots of clothing space, and comfortable beds and pillows. 2 bathrooms with loads of space, and the shower is excellent! Kitchen is fine for small stuff, and living room was perfect. Couch is comfy. There is also in suite laundry. If there was one negative, its more of a wish list..in the master bedroom there is a balcony. My suggestion is for a bistro set to sit and enjoy the view. I would not hesitate to stay again. Everything was in walking distance.

Location is perfect. Many places to eat with great variety. Parliament is 13 minutes walk. Check in could've been smoother but the internet in the whole block was out so we couldn't communicate with them via email or call (oddly enough). They had to manually open the room doors for us as they couldn't issue key cards due to the Internet problem. However, once internet was fixed later in the evening, our host deligently went around to the new guests to give them their key cards. Everything went smoothly thereafter.

Combined condo/hotel format property with clean and tidy rooms. Interesting system for entry and check-in, I think I would have preferred a manned reception desk. Overall a quiet, clean place to stay. My only qualms are the neighbourhood is a little rough, the common spaces are very scented, not a ton of parking for hotel guests and no housekeeping during your stay.
