The location, the decor and furnishings, especially the layout of the suite were all good. However, there are several shortcomings that hugely let down the profile of the property (e.g.,upscale restaurant onsite) and hence the guest experience:
1) Housekeeping - it was not spelled out clearly during check in that it was by request only, but mentioned in fine print on the jacket for the access keys, which is easy to miss. There was no literature related to the property in the room (nor was a safe). We made several requests for housekeeping which largely went ignored or partially filled after follow ups. No vaccuming, trash was left in the room and bed was not made. Very lean housekeeping staff milled around in the main building area mostly.
2) Access keys failed a few times. Excuses given were technical glitches and \"doorway batteries were failing\".
3) Breakfast was especially underwhelming given the profile of the property - it is a tiny breakfast area, and food selections are poor. The breakfast lady left on her own was overwhelmed and cranky, while across the hall, the idle desk person checked her phone. The coffee tasted awful, like watered down swill. No signs on the food items either, causing confusion. Guests took care not to bump into each other all the time.
4) We heard excuses like \"managers are out on vacation\"; \"it is new management trying to figure things out\". There was no evidence of managerial oversight anywhere. Wish we knew this during the booking process.

I’m hoping this was a staffing issue but we had to change rooms at 11 pm before getting into bed (thankfully I checked). The sheets and toilet seat were covered in hair and what looked like grass ? The rooms are in desperate need of a deep clean. The woman who helped us was so kind, nothing on the front desk staff but management needs to better clean their rooms. The breakfast they offer you is less than desirable even with having an awesome restaurant next door. And the staff replenishing the coffee and food are incredibly rude. We actually just opted to leave because it was so distasteful. There are so many other reasonably priced options around, just go there.

The hotel is a bit dated, but the outdoor garden areas are very nice.
The check in staff was not particularly welcoming.
Our main issue was that there was no room service at all unless you asked for it in advance but we were never told we needed to ask. At check-in we should have been asked if we want room service or at least be told we would have to ask to get it. Therefore we stayed 3 days with no room service despite paying $300 a night.
The breakfast was little above the normal hotel free breakfast and the lady serving was very nice and helpful.
On previous stays the food and bar were nice.

My sister and I shared a room on the quiet side of the building while my parents had the accessible room I booked for them. Both were comfortable. We appreciated the breakfast with fresh fruit, egg sandwiches, bagels, muffins, and waffles. The lobby and breakfast area is spacious and seating was never an issue. My parents said their roll-in shower had a too-short shower curtain. Water was all over the floor of the bathroom, which could have been hazardous or slippery. They also prefer firmer mattresses, but I loved ours and slept well, aside from the alarm going off at 6am because someone had left it set instead of turning it off. That wasn't the hotel's fault. I'd definitely stay here again. It's close to Green Lake State Park and the Erie Canal Trail. The staff was accommodating with a late checkout too - 12 noon vs 11am.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. First night we discovered leftover food in the refrigerator and hair in the shower. We notified front desk and service was done by housekeeping. The most troubling situation was on the third day, we came back to our room door propped open. We had requested our room to be serviced at 10 am that morning before we left. The house keepers were working in the hallway and we asked them to give us more towels. We closed our door and went on for the day. You can imagine the horror when we came home to an open door to our room. We were told by the front desk receptionist Kimberly that the hotel housekeepers propped their doors open after they finish cleaning the rooms so the manager can inspect the rooms. She apologized profusely, saying that it was an oversight. For almost 12 hours our door was open. The housekeeping manager, Kayla did reach out to us the following day and left message apologizing for leaving our door open.
After returning home, we called and left several messages, but heard from no one.
Several staff members kept saying that’s their protocol. Leaving the door opened once they finished cleaning for inspection. I can understand if the guest has checked out for the day. But when you have guess like us who are staying several days, that protocol is a terrible one. There has to be changes made to make sure your guests don’t feel violated we would never come back to this hotel.

I would stay there again if traveling through the area.

I visited this weekend past for a wedding with my sister and husband. My sister in law recommended this hotel. I have no complaints as Melody checked on me daily via text. JANICE took care of me each morning for breakfast with a smile and grace. She is a true Queen with a warm positive vibe. I really enjoyed meeting her... I miss you Ms. Janice! Thank you again for everything! And Isaac helped me check out smoothly and quickly. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. It was relaxing and the only thing bad I can say is our floor didnt have the ice machine working.... we went to the main floor no biggie... needed the exercise anyway. The bon fire at the grill spot was so cozy. The ppl were very nice and friendly. The TVs had all the sports games for the playoffs etc. I definitely will return when I visit Syracuse again. Thanks for a great stay. God bless you all!
