We stayed for a night at this hotel on our way to New York City. We booked a room with two double beds. The room was well-maintained. The bathroom was well stocked with shampoo and other essentials. The staff were helpful in providing additional towels and other items requested by us. Overall, the stay was excellent.

The sound of the AC starting up and shutting down kept us up all nite.
No trash can in room or bathroom.
Bug crawling on bathroom floor near toilet.
Window blinds visibly dusty.
Indicator light on AC that filter change was needed.
At 9AM the only food available was dry oatmeal and dry cereal.
Water leaking from ceiling in lounge area off lobby. And this was a newly renovated room!
We stayed here before and this was not our experience.

We stayed two nights in July. The rate was pretty good compared to other places and the room was basic but clean. The hotel is changing owners later this year, and I think that led to less attention by the departing owners. Front desk service was uneven--some workers were attentive, others ignoring guests or not there at all. The breakfast was not so good--eggs were cold, waffle maker not working, coffee downright bad. If you like cereal, your one choice is Sugar Frosted Flakes. We ended up eating out. Only one elevator is working. Bathroom in lobby did not have soap. No snacks for sale, as is pictured on the website. Floors 2 and 3 are being remodeled, which did not bother us on floor 6, BUT on Sunday morning there was a flood of water coming through the ceiling in the lobby. In short, we would give it a generous grade of \"OK.\"

This hotel was under construction while we were there, which undoubtedly was why the price was so low. Location is excellent, parking was a tight squeeze but free, room was clean and spacious, the bed was good, and the AC worked. Bathroom was awful: toilet didn't flush properly, glass shower doors were a risk. We didn't have breakfast there, but it was complimentary. One of the two elevators was out of service.

I was looking forward to our stay visiting Syracuse University. I guess you get what you pay for. It was pretty inexpensive. The hotel is under construction. First we were placed in a room that wasn’t finished being renovated and then when we asked we were moved to another room that wasn’t totally complete. We then were put in another room that really wasn’t 100% done. No fridge and there was a shutter in the bathroom with blue painters tape on it. The basement exercise room was also very musty, but well

Our stay at the hotel was disappointing due to several service and operational issues.

We had reserved two rooms and specifically requested that they be located next to each other. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the room assignments had been mixed up and that no adjacent rooms were available. This was inconvenient, especially since the request had been made in advance.

Another significant issue was that our room key cards frequently failed to work. Nearly every time we returned to our rooms, we had to visit the front desk to have the keys reactivated. We were told that the hotel was undergoing renovations and that this was causing system issues. While we understand that renovations can create temporary challenges, guests should be informed in advance, and rooms should only be made available when they are fully operational and ready for occupancy.

Additionally, the booking indicated that breakfast was included. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience did not meet reasonable expectations. More than 75% of the advertised food items were unavailable, and there was no staff present in the breakfast area to assist guests or explain the shortages. This resulted in a frustrating and disappointing experience.

Overall, the stay did not meet the standards we expected. Better communication regarding the renovations, improved room readiness, and a properly managed breakfast service would have made a significant difference.

Neighborhood was close to the armory but really sketchy area. A lot of homeless people walking around the area. Not much going on. Definitely don’t show up a minute before 3 as they won’t check you in until then. Hotel is pretty run down. Only plus was the comfortable bed

The Parkview is undergoing a major remodel as it becomes a Hampton Inn. We stayed in remodeled room 602.
The room looks nicely updated but it is missing key items that were formerly there. The large entry area looks bare since the room no longer has a dresser or a desk. The dresser is a priority because there is no place to store clothing now. You have to live out of your suitcase - a major design mistake.
The light above the bathroom mirror was removed. The ceiling light does not adequately light the area above the sink, making shaving and makeup difficult.
The Parkview's \"Living Room Lobby\" was spacious and welcoming. It appears Hampton management is going to destroy this ambience.

Do not give this hotel your credit card information. I paid for my room through Expedia well before my stay, yet The Parkview Hotel attempted to charge my credit card a second time. When I called, they insisted they had not charged me. Although they eventually issued a refund, they immediately processed another charge for an even higher amount on the same day.
I've booked through Expedia many times and have never experienced anything like this. Dealing with these unauthorized extra charges has been incredibly frustrating. I recommend checking your credit card statements carefully if you stay here.

Not such a great stay here. This place is ghetto. We were up most of Saturday night because of screaming and fights in the parking lot. They tried to put us in a room where you have to roll over the bed to get inside of it. We changed rooms and stayed in an unrennovated room, just so we could access the room. I have physical limitations and can’t roll over a bed every time I need to use the bathroom. We had to fight to get any kind of refund from the hotel through Expedia. Save yourself a headache and stay somewhere else.

Aging hotel that's currently under renovations. No issues with the room. Clean, bed was comfortable, fridge, microwave, and air conditioning all worked without issue. The only negative is the lack of secure parking. The parking is behind the hotel off the alley. It's free. Free parking is a bonus but it's also a little concerning. The area around the hotel isn't inviting, but also isn't terrible. With that said, I would still stay here again.

At check-in we were behind a woman at the front desk waiting, the employee was on the phone with a clearly disgruntled customer for more than 5 mins and was clearly irritated at her - I requested TWICE he put the phone call on hold and deal with 2 customers waiting to check in, he did not and spent another 5+ minutes just listening to her rant and didn’t even apologize to us. The shower leaked quite a lot all over the tiny bathroom floor, bathroom did not have a toilet paper holder; it was a suite room w microwave and fridge but not a single paper towel or napkin or utensil or plate or coffee maker.

Parking was bad. Behind the hotel were too small, dumpy parking lots. We did not feel safe leaving our car parked there. Hotel staff was not friendly nor helpful. Overall the place was dark inside and not super welcoming. Had a touch of a creepy vibe to it. I discovered it was a former dormitory for resident dentists and doctors studying at college. During that time they used it also as a research lab. Could have been why it was creepy. Doubt if we ever stay here again.

The hotel is under renovation but other than the parking lot having building material in it and the occasional worker in the elevator you wouldn't know it. The room was clean and comfortable, ours looked like it had already been redone. The water pressure was better than most hotels. The only complaint I would have is the windows have shutters onstead of curtians which look nice but dont do a great job of keeping it dark.

They are undergoing extensive renovations so there is some construction noise but it didn't disturb us at all. The staff was very nice and helpful. If you're lucky, you might be greeted by an adorable pup at the front desk! Great proximity to downtown. Overall, a great stay for a very affordable price!

Upon arriving, the front desk wasn't able to \"see\" the second room on my reservation. Eventually, they were able to go \"online\" to find it, but it was very odd. Then one of my two rooms got assigned to a room that was already occupied, so we had to go back down and change that out.
The hotel is undergoing renovation, and the building is 100 years old, so there are some bumps until they get that complete. However, one thing that shouldn't have been a bump was the fact that there are no cups at all in the rooms. I get thirsty at night and had to go hunting for a cup in the basement. Fortunately, they had water and cups in the gym. If you get parched at night, be sure to bring your own water bottle.
The breakfast was ok. Egg \"patties\" and sausage patties, along with some other items. Not the worst I've seen, but definitely not the best.
All in all, the hotel was ok. I will be curious to see what happens when Hampton completes the takeover and renovations.

Reasonable Prices for a room compared to hotels a few blocks over; nice view of a park across the street. For vegans the Strong Hearts restaurant is close by and walkable to get there. And, yes, there was a free breakfast; coffee,eggs, sausages, Belgian waffles, bagels, sliced breads,
Oatmeal, and cold cereal. Careful when parking, as the driveway is very narrow and passing traffic is fast, so wait till the traffic goes by and swing a little wide when entering the driveway. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable of the area and great with service(s).

I chose this hotel in part because of its proximity to Upstate Medical Hospital, but it also had really good ratings and reviews. It did not disappoint. It’s tastefully appointed, homey with a touch of elegance. My room was generously sized and sparkly clean. A lovely bonus was their breakfast which is more than cereal or pastries. There were mini-omelets and sausage patties in a chaffing dish which were good but barely warm. This is my only negative comment about my whole experience and one I can easily forgive. I will absolutely stay there again when the need arises.

This property has not been updated in at least 20 years. Very dated and very dusty. The TVs are those thick flat screens from 20 years ago when flat screens just came out. The phones are those off white phones from the 90s.

The location is good, the staff is nice.

We interacted with 2 staff members. A woman ( with a cute dog) and a gentleman whose name was Javon, I believe. Both incredibly friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy, as was checking out. Room was clean and quiet. Small bathroom, but loved the double-head shower. Very nice hot breakfast. Better than what you usually expect. Bagels, eggs, sausage and a lot more. Parking was fantastic. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We stayed at The Parkview Hotel on a recent visit for accepted students at Syracuse University. The location was wonderful. We were a 15-20 minute walk to campus from the hotel, which was super convenient. The hotel decor is very dated and it is in the process of undergoing renovations, and possibly also a change in management (saw signs that Hampton Inn will be taking over Fall 2026). Although the hotel was very dated and in need of updates, the guest room was clean and the bathroom was well kept. There were three of us and when we arrived there were only towels for 2 guests. When we asked at the front desk for additional towels, they apologized that they did not have any additional bath towels, but did give us extra wash cloths, hand towels and bath mats. We found that a bit odd. We took advantage of using the fitness center in the basement, which had a nice variety of equipment available. In the morning, a basic breakfast buffet was available and included. We were given permission to leave our car in the hotel lot when we were visiting Syracuse University, which was very helpful. The location makes this a great spot and we found the overnight accommodation to be clean and adequate.

Beautiful building, and the inside of the hotel was amazing, the complimentary breakfast was so good, the only issue I had was that I put in a request for extra pillows and was told they’d be dropped off, I waited over 2 hours and nothing and ended up taking a nap, while I was in bed and wasn’t dressed and the door swung up and housekeeping walked in… I was extremely embarrassed and on top of that never got the pillows.

The parking was easy, and the check-in process was smooth. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was mostly clean, though there were a few stains on the chairs and footrest. Even so, the hotel overall was well maintained.

I did not have breakfast, but I stopped by in the morning for some water and juice, which were cold and refreshing. The fitness center is small and the water station was empty, but it was still decent.

The kitchenette in my room was basic, with a microwave, mini fridge, and sink, but no cooking space. It was still a nice feature to have.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Elevevator was gross. TV is room was ridiculously small for the size of the room.

Room lock didn’t work. Bedsheet had hair on it. When we requested for a new room, we were given keys to another room but when we opened the door, there were already hotel guests inside the room. Just overall a disastrous experience.
