We just spent our 25th anniversary week at The Palms and had a great time. The resort is stunning and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The treehouses are so adorable and clean. The bed was super comfortable, the pillows weren’t the best, but nothing is like my own pillow! Housekeeping did a great job everyday cleaning and restocking towels and our mini fridge. The food was always good, breakfast was the best meal everyday. Dinner became very redundant for 7 days. We did thoroughly enjoy our special dinner at the Lotus Leaf, it was delicious. We got the couples massage and it was so wonderful and relaxing. There are kitties all over the resort and we loved seeing them everywhere. I will definitely recommend this resort to anyone heading to Jamaica!

Sunset at the Palms was unlike any other resort we have stayed at. The rooms are like treehouses, with a main bedroom, a bathroom, and otherwise surrounded by nature. Other reviews mention the property being dated, which is true, but the staff handle any issues with timeliness and kindness. The water connection to various parts of the property was disrupted multiple times, but staff fixed things quickly. The beach is absolutely beautiful and there was never an issue finding beach chairs. The water is crystal blue, the hot tub was great, the drinks were solid, and the food was fantastic. Usually every time my husband and I leave the country, we get some GI upset, but this was not the case for the first time in all of our travels! The coffee bar was an excellent touch. I can definitely see why people return multiple times. It truly is a great place to relax. There are couches, books, boardgames, and quiet. It is not a party resort, but rather an upscale foresty beach vibe that focuses on peace and relaxation. We would love to return! Special shoutout to Jason and Cornelius who were the absolute best! Also shoutout to Albert who helped with our water adventures :) Overall, if you can get a deal, would highly recommend checking this place out!

Amazing. The beach is across the street from the resort the food is amazing. If you’re allergic to cats you might have an issue. Cats walk around the resort. The rooms are very nice. The balcony is really nice. Overall a very nice resort if your looking for a couples retreat not so much partying

Room: 3.5⭐️- Pick a treetop deluxe, we stayed in the superior and it was close to the edge and had more noise than I liked but wasn't terrible. Also some rooms have glass windows while some of only screens and wood shudders. All rooms have AC though.
Food: 3.5⭐️- Buffet could be hit or miss, breakfast and dinner were generally very good with the Jamaican food being amazing. Skip Italian night though. The Lotus is the better restaurant, as the Chefs choice has an almost identical Chefs menu every night.
Bars: 4.5⭐️ - Bars were generally very good, with good pours.
Beach: 4.5⭐️- Beach was pretty great, clean water that was generally very clear and super calm waters.
Pool: 4⭐️- Small pool which is fine, but limited chairs on the deck.
Service: 5⭐️ - The staff is honestly what will bring me back, everyone was so friendly and nice and makes this resort. By the end of the week I knew every bartender and every waiter. They all remembered me and honestly would have some great conversations with them (Shout out to Delroy, Cash, Kirk and Jason). The room was cleaned up by house keeping everyday and they even did a 2nd check around dinner to re-straighten up and restock fridges. At the beach after 11 you would get a flag you could put up for service, it wasn't the fastest but was still very nice and quick enough for us.
Entertainment: 4⭐️- Nightly scheduled entertainment, piano Paul is probably the best.
Overall: 4.25⭐️

Just came back from a six-night stay and loved every second! The perfect resort for an intimate couple’s getaway or a secluded relaxing vacation. The staff was AMAZING — Jamey, Jason, Allison, Lynette, and more names than I can even remember — everyone greeted us so warmly every time we saw them. The food was delicious in every restaurant, and we quickly felt like family. The bungalows were amazing, and the balcony became our favorite part of the room. We loved all of the beautiful plants and flowers on the property, even having a doctor bird visit us on our balcony one afternoon!
We got engaged on this trip and felt surrounded by love from the staff and other guests. So many couples celebrating anniversaries and even an elopement on the beach…the entire beach celebrated when they kissed! It was a trip to remember, and we can’t wait to visit again to celebrate something new.
If you are looking for a relaxing, low-key, intimate trip where you can disconnect JUST enough, this is the place!

We really liked the seclusion with the tropical beauty. The staff was top notch. The room was one we really wanted be in when we weren't at the beach or at the pool with swim up bar. The balcony was relaxing, especially when it rained. The ocean was crystal clear and I found that I always wanted to be there. We will definitely come back. Great vacation.

This property is for those looking for a peaceful stay. Very small all inclusive resort with limited entertainment, but interesting amenities like a martini bar, coffee bar. The entire property is covered in beautifully maintained tropical foliage as you navigate to and from your room.

The staff are very friendly and attentive and keep you smiling. You feel very welcome.

The beach is stunning with only a short walk across the main road supported by guards. Water is warm, clear and shallow, and sand is white and very fine. Loungers are in abundance with some grass huts and large trees to provide shade. Large beachside bar and eating area with a limited menu of jerk chicken, nachos, hamburgers and hot dogs with fries,salad and onion rings. Servers are available for drinks and food at your lounger.

Rooms are very much like elevated cabins, a little small by all inclusive standards but perfectly fine for couples.Nightime nature sounds were nice.

Food is good, not great. As expected, smaller scale than bigger all inclusive but hot and fresh and always found something good to eat.

Overall a very nice peaceful place to sit back and relax. A unique vacation spot.

This place is heavenly. This tropical resort \"feels\" like Jamaica. The beach is clean, and the water is clear and warm. The thatched umbrellas are an ideal way to soak up the beach, sand and the salt water, while listening to the waves. The food is abundantly delicious. But the best part is the staff! What an amazing trip! Believe all of the good things you read about Sunset at the Palms, as it is a truly unique experience! The staff was wonderful, and we felt taken care of throughout our stay. The beach is among the best along the west coast, and we felt like we were in our own little piece of paradise. The amenities met our needs, and then some! While not the most extensive buffet amongst all-inclusives, it had more than enough variety to suit us, and the themed nights brought extra choices each day. The Half Moon Beach excursion was a great add-on, and we felt our cares melt away into a true vacation experience. The garden setting for the rooms was relaxing and encompassing. We cannot wait to return!

-no pride in keeping the wood maintained
- rain gutters not maintained
- grounds have beautiful vegetation but simple aspects such as clipping off dead leaves, weeds, not well respected by staff.
-staff often times were not smiling, appeared to not seem happy, most staff but not all seemed cold, no pride in representing their resort and country to guests/tourists who have come to visit and enjoy their country.
-my room was just fine, it was amazing for listening to nature all night and the rain storms!
-the food was ok, same mostly daily. i am not picky about that , but some guests I had met did not like it.
- I did not like drinking my cocktails from cafeteria style cups and plastic stemware
-A Jamaican is the owner of this property. I would like to see him take more pride in staffing a good foundation of employees excited to represent his brand to travelers excited to explore Negril.
- Coffee bar is a cute idea, coffee was very weak.
- Staff was always picking up tableware as if they were closing down way too soon. Tables should be left made up until complete closure of dining hours not while guest are still eating , sitting. Guests that arrive towards closing should not feel as though they cannot still sit for their meals.
- I observed staff daily sitting on their cell phones, not interacting with guests.

Perfect beach, unique clean rooms, great bars and cocktail selection, friendly staff, really nice pool area and jacuzzi. Breakfast was excellent , lunch and dinner were very good. Food is tasty in general with the exception of desserts which were basically the same cakes everyday, icecreams are available but you have to ask for it. Would suggest more snacks options available between meals, such as pastries, icecreams, fruit, etc. Solid four star resort, excellent value for the price we paid.

What really made this place special was the people. The grounds were beautiful. The tree house huts were cute and such a vibe, but the staff were what truly sold us on the resort.

Not much in the form of nightly entertainment, but you can always go off resort.

We really loved our stay. It’s probably not for everyone, but we very much prefer the cozy size of the property and laid back atmosphere. If you are worried about walking across the street to beach, don’t!!! The crossing guard is always there and it’s a quicker walk than most big resorts to get to the beach. We can’t say enough about the staff, they were phenomenal. Bartenders-Cash, Nadine and Gerald. Wait Staff-Christine, Claudette, Jason, Tamika and Francois. Beach crew-Kevon and Jovaine. Chef-Kenroy. I can’t remember all the wonderful people but that is a few. Paul at the Piano Bar was definitely a highlight! The beach staff always helped you get chairs, tables and towels right away, and they would remember our names. The beach is wonderful, and the water is clear and calm. Yes, there were some things that weren't perfect-our ceiling fan didn’t work, but we really didn’t care and the air conditioning kept us very comfortable. The food was good, especially at Lotus Leaf. The whole staff tried to accommodate any requests and help was quick and easy to get, if needed. We will definitely visit again. Bless Up!

No view of ocean from the property. Beach is a short distance away from resort and is spectacular. The staff is amazing, attentive and very accommodating. We loved everything about Sunset at the Palms! It was so beautiful... such a vibe! Stone, dark carved wood, art and gorgeous plants EVERYWHERE. We immediately felt calm and relaxed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food and drinks were great. The beach was stunning, and it was so fun hanging at the pool bar. The spa was wonderful as well... great couples massage!

I can not say enough about the staff! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was so nice, extremely competent and super helpful.

If you want pure relaxation this is your place! The grounds are spotless, Lynford does an amazing job!The staff truly goes out of there way to make you feel welcomed! Erica always kept our room spotless and left the cutest towel arrangements! Claudette always serving our breakfast with a smile. Make sure you see Brittany,Kirk,Cash, Gerald,Odine and Shirleen! They are wonderful bartenders and know how to make a drink! Brittany's saying goes, More Rum more Fun ! Tamika was our server for the evening dinner, she is so bubbly, definitely service with a smile.The beach was beautiful and you never have to worry about getting a lounge chair! Bianka and Amanda were extremely helpful at the front desk during our stay! Lynette in the gift shop will remember your name the first time you meet,she is an amazing woman! Food was awful.Cleaning lady missed up something everyday.Doesn’t leave coffee cups or bath towels.
Coffee machine was broken.

The service is very nice but very slow.
The lunch menu was missing a lot of dishes.
Instead of a garden salad, we got cabbage with dressing.

Forget about eating ice cream at this resort, even though they have it on the dessert menu.

We absolutely loved our stay!! My husband had a medical emergency just as we arrived but the staff were absolutely amazing helping us!! The room was amazing and well appointed. We just spent 9 nights at Sunset at the Palms, and it was truly exceptional.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. Every interaction felt genuine — warm smiles, thoughtful service, and an attention to detail that never felt forced. It’s clear this is a place where people care about what they do, and it shows in every corner of the experience.

The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed — a perfect balance of relaxed luxury and natural charm. It felt like a real escape: calm, grounding, and restorative in a way that’s hard to find.

What says the most is this: we will absolutely be returning. That’s huge for us, because we’ve never committed to visiting the same place twice before. Sunset at the Palms changed that.

This hotel is the perfect pause needed from a busy life. It has private beach access. The staff and services are incredible. Hospitality is taken seriously in this resort. Room was clean. Staff was very nice and pleasant and seemed happy to help in any way. This is a quiet and quaint placed. Don't expect loudness or major night life. It's a place to relax and enjoy the pleasantries of the resort and a beautiful beach. Drinks are what you would expect in Jamaica. Jim beam is bourbon and jack Daniel's whisky. Rum runners were string but good. Would recommend for a couple get away that likes quiet and quaint

We had our wedding here and they did an amazing job! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, shoutout to our wedding planner, Amanda, and our favorite server, Tamika! The beach is only about a 2 minute walk and they have crossing guards that assist you. We will definitely be back.

The resort is absolutely awesome. Its like escaping into a Amazon forest. The staff were incredible. Everything is super clean. The service is fast. Our safe stopped working and guy was there in 5 minutes to fix.
The food was unbelievable, especially the buffet. Most buffet food is like \"fast food\". Not here!! Wish i had the shrimp recipe!!. Choices were extensive. The \"chefs choice\" night dinner was also excellent!!!
I really cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I would recommend it in a heartbeat!! Especially to adults looking for a great place with no kids!!! But it is not a \"high octane\" place. If you are looking for loud music, too many people are non-stop activity all around you, go someplace else.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. Love the jungle feeling and privacy for each treehouse. The beach is a short walk across the street with crossing guards to help stop traffic. Beach is amazing not crowded, clean and friendly beach staff. They make sure you’re not bothered by people selling their goods. We enjoyed shopping on the beach.(shopping was short walk down the beach). Staff around the resort were amazing so friendly and fun. They make a point to make you feel welcomed. Food was good. Our room was beautiful, unfortunately we had shower issues, the first 2 nights water stopped running in the middle of my shower and then our 4th night the shower had no hot water. I will say they took care of it but it was quite frustrating with limited time to get ready for things. I wish the concierge station would have kept us updated on the process of each situation we had to contact them. With that being said I would still definitely go back. I hesitated even mentioning the shower but I feel they need to communicate more keep us updated, we did agree if they had to turn water off a 3 rd day they would leave me a note ahead of time. Beautiful hotel and amazing staff!!

We loved our stay at Sunset at the Palms!! The beach is one of the most amazing I’ve been to - it is across the road so something to consider if you have mobility concerns but we found it was a nice separation and there were crossing guards to help you get there safely. The beach was private, so you could get lunch from the resort and drinks as well.

Rooms were a great size and bed was comfortable - some of the furnishings could use an update (I.e. no smart TVs, bathroom fixtures were a bit dated) but this did not take away from our experience at all.

Many of the other guests we met had been to SATP 5-7x previously, which is a good sign! The food was incredible. Staff were pleasant, kind, and eager to help.

Definitely would recommend SATP if you’re looking for a quieter, relaxing place - not for partiers or people looking for a rowdy vacation.

We had an 11 day stay at Sunset at the Palms from the last week of September into the first week of October. We found staff to be genuinely friendly; not one member of staff failed to greet us as we passed around the resort, and all took the time to help with a smile on their face. So many examples of staff who went above and beyond. The buffet meals were generally good. Breakfast was a mix of standard buffet hot foods and cereals, cold meats, cheese and fruits with a daily Jamaican hot breakfast selection too. Lunch is al la carte on both the resort and beach bar. Food there was good, recommend the burgers, club sandwich and specials (which changed daily). The Chef’s showcase in many ways I felt was the star of the show, but not just because of the food which was always excellent. It was a fixed menu but different each time. What made it stand out for me was that the chef’s preparing each course were in the early stages of their careers and this was their opportunity to showcase their talents and meals. This shows a willingness on the resort’s part to develop and support their staff which reflects so positively on them. The resort grounds are beautiful, well kept but not in a manicured formal way. You have the sense of being in the tropics not a garden. The wildlife is varied – we enjoyed watching hummingbirds feed whilst laying in bed. The resort buildings and facilities are generally well maintained and kept very clean.

My stay at Sunset at the Palms was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The resort itself is a tropical paradise — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of that authentic Jamaican charm.

The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. A special shout-out to Lynette in the Gift Shop, who was so kind and helpful every time I stopped by. In the dining room, Jayson, Andrice, and Claudette went above and beyond to make every meal feel special. Their warm smiles, great conversation, and outstanding service made me look forward to every dining experience.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the entire team made me feel like family. You can really tell they take pride in what they do.

I can’t recommend Sunset at the Palms enough — it’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy amazing service, and soak up the beauty of Negril. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The staff was absolutely fantastic. From the manager down to everyone else. And rice in the dining area, Erica, OMG Eric in house keeping was too kind, Easy-Pasy treated me like a king coming home from battle on the beach. I wish I could remember everyone name to give them credit. Cornelius did wonders with a steak that I didn’t know were possible. Again everyone was great. I almost hate writing this review cause I don’t want anyone to know the secrets of this beautiful place. I would rather keep it to myself, but I want the place to stay in business so I can come back year after year.
