One receptionist, very polite, told me I could get another cup from the restaurant. A cleaner overheard and said immediately that she would bring one to our room. All staff were friendly.

Overall a good place to stay, central, convenient, great food. A few minor \"gripes! however...no table or bench on which to put case, on the floor is not the best, the kettle is impossible to fill from the only tap, had to use a glass and fill that way! Beds are rsther hard too.

Overnight stay to visit theatre
We arrived lunchtime and had a superb meal before checking in to our room. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing that very slightly let things down was the quality of the breakfast. Poached eggs on Eggs Benedict were hard and American pancakes hard and crispy. round the edge. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

The staff here are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble & they are all very attentive. The food was delicious. The rooms are comfy with good quality bedding & towels. Some of the communal areas are a little tired but that didn’t effect our stay. Everywhere was clean & tidy. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Georgian Townhouse apartments. The room was spacious , the bed comfortable & the mini kitchen useful.
The shower was rather awkward & sensitive to adjust & we could have done with a heated towel rail to dry the towels. Also a dim nightlight near the set of stairs would have been helpful as they are lethal in the dark ! Otherwise we will stay again. It is very convenient for town.

Lovely room and bathroom with delightful view over the garden. Very conveniently situated in a pleasant part of Norwich. Only a short walk to the city centre.

Bedroom/bathroom were like a black hole. Numerous lights not working. No light above the coffee maker ( and even if there was there was a display suitcase between the ceiling and the coffee machine. No milk. After I repaired seal on shower door there was no shelf to put anything on. Limited space above the basin as well. Carpet had obviously been fitted by an amateur. Bed was extremely hard and then to breakfast. Please explain how you eat toasted sourdough bread without cutting your gums ?
Finally on a positive note...the evening meal was excellent, and very enjoyable.
In summary, this hotel needed a darn good refit, stained carpets in corridors, missing lamps,and smart attire for the employees would all contribute to a far more pleasurable stay.

Awful customer service!!
I left some property at the hotel and notified the day we checked out - after 2 calls, 1 voicemail and 3 emails with no response, I’ve accepted the fact that no one cares and that I won’t be getting my property back.
The rooms were ok, but a bit dusty and the windows needed a clean!

A gem of a find!
This was a gem of a find! Loved staying here for a business trip to Norwich, the room was great and the variety of additional extras really made it worth every penny!
The bar and restaurant area were lovely, and the garden was so welcoming in the late- summer evening. Breakfast was served very well as was the dinner, with a great range on the menu.

I booked a room as it was my husband’s Birthday that weekend & we planned to have an evening out in Norwich.
I had looked at a few hotels in the area & picked The Georgian Townhouse as the pictures looked lovely on the site.
We never used the bar or restaurant as we were out for most of the day.
Our room was a standard double room, it was cosy warm & had a comfortable bed.
The room was clean at eye level. The curtains were full of dust that needed a good hoover there were large cobwebs in all of the corners of the room and a large amount of dust behind the dressing table.. There was a tray of nuts & crisps provided which you had to pay a small fee for, however they were out of date. The bathroom tiles & panel needed a good clean too. I left there feeling disappointed very dusty & tired. On a positive note The Townhouse is in an excellent location

Great boutique hotel in the best location
I love the GT, I've stayed before and will stay again. The only gripe is the bathroom was too cold. Freezing in fact. Ruled out using the bath. I don't want anyone to be put off by this review, it's a must stay in the perfect location but if the bathroom was heated would have been a 10/10 instead of a 9/10

We had a fantastic stay in the apartments of The Georgian Townhouse, the rooms were a great size and the bed was both huge and comfortable. The hotel is only a short walk into the city centre and there's some lovely cafe's on the way.
Checking in and out was seamless and we were even able to access the room a few hours early. The staff we met were all very polite and friendly, I'd highly recommend a stay there.

Amazing Stay!!
It was my first time visiting Norwich with my friend and we had an absolute lovely stay here, it was right next to the cathedral and a quick walk to the shops and city. The room itself was big, bright but also nice and warm with this cold weather outside! Had an amazing night sleep the bed was massive and the linen was super soft and there was on sight parking too which was a great convenience. Definitely recommend and will hopefully stay there again for my next visit to Norwich.

This hotel is lovely, we stayed in The Stables which was so quirky and would definitely stay again, it was clean, warm and had everything you could want.
The location is peaceful and so romantic, I am glad we had a suite rather then in the main hotel as that was very busy and we could not park as no space.

Upon arriving at the Georgian Townhouse to check in the person on reception was on the phone and did not even acknowledge ourselves and appeared to completely blank us for a good few minutes.
The instructions to get to the room were ok.
On reaching the room we found the it was on the ground floor next to the main door and not the Loft Apartment that had been booked through Hotels.com
On going back to the reception area I was basically told that was the only room they had and take it or leave it!
The room was extremely noisy and the door to the room banged each time people entered or left by the main door due to a poorly fitted door latch.
A number of the curtain rings had come off the curtains so you were unable to close them fully.
The room wasn't cleaned and bed made the next day for our next nights stay.
Some of the plug sockets did not work in the room.
The only TV channels available were the main terrestrial ones as the additional free view channels were not tuned in.
I am not impressed by the standard or service given.

Oh dear. For the extortionate price of a luxury apartment per night, you would expect there to be hot water correct? No. There was no minibar as promised. Check-in took forever. The housekeeping staff walked in on us without knocking. Standards are extremely basic for what they describe as luxury. The apartment building is separate to the hotel and the front door slams repeatedly throughout the day. Don't stay there if you are nervy or have a weak heart!!

An interesting property, on the outskirts of Norwich, with a large secure garden providing outdoor eating space - both open air and under cover. Generally the facilities matched the 3.5-4* rating.
Check-in was easy. Front desk team was always friendly and courteous.
No “do not disturb” signs were provided and towels were crazily automatically replaced daily - with no means for residents to retain towels for more than one night! Not great on the sustainability front. Some of the decoration was “tired”, but given recent economic difficulties totally understandable.
Food was great value for money. Breakfast choice was exceptional. Lunch and evening menu had a wide choice with a good selection of very enjoyable Sunday roasts. Service was generally efficient, courteous and warm.
Restaurant service on Sunday evening was, however, disappointing. Serving staff were distracted from attending diners (particularly towards the end of the session) by bringing in soft furnishings from outside rather than watching as clients finished the various courses. That though was only a minor irritation than a major problem, and more a note to supervisors. We would definitely have no problem in returning to this hotel which offered good value for money.

Room was filthy, wasn’t cleaned in the morning or provided with fresh amenities, towels or bedding. Blood on pillow cases and poo & tissue in toilet bin. Toilet brush very rusty and covered in faeces, bed labelled as a Queen bed, in fact it’s two singles pushed together, facilities labelled as Smeg Fridge and Nespresso Coffee Machine, they were in fact cheap knock off versions, stains on mattress, hairs in bed and on sofa, cigarette packets and nails in bedside table draw & finally stains on floor. Very poor experience for the money they charge! I wouldn’t recommend.

We found old empty drinks cans in the desk from previous guests that had not been cleared. Very dingy spotlights that didnt aid the light in the room what so ever! General cleanliness was disappointing! Would not recommend.

Really nice stay, comfortable room and easy walking distance of the centre over the footbridge. Pub was well set out for social distancing and plenty of choice. We downloaded the app which gave you £5 off the first order (equivalent of a pint of Amstel) we had a nice meal on Sunday evening and a nice breakfast Monday morning.

The apartment was lovely, if a little cold when you went down the stairs to the kitchen/bathroom! Some form of heating in that area would definitely be worth it and would really finish it off. Our room wasn't quite ready at check-in time, but a free round of drinks meant we didn't much mind!! As it was our Wedding Anniversary we got moved into an apartment and that kind of customer service can set a place apart in an saturated industry!

We had a lovely stay at The Georgian Townhouse. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and come with those little extra touches that make your stay, such as a coffee machine and a Smeg fridge. The room we stayed in was very spacious and the bathroom was too with a lovely big shower. The restaurant was also great, the food was fabulous and the staff were very polite and happy. The hotel is in an ideal spot for the walks, shops and restaurants that Norwich has to offer. If you are in Norwich I would definitely recommend staying at The Georgian Townhouse.

Mix up with booking from Hotels.com - Triple room booked but only double reserved. Hotel were fortunately able to upgrade us to a family apartment across the road from main hotel.
Apartment was in an old Georgian house (not surprising given the name :-)) Apartment was large, comfortable and nicely refurbished. However, there were a few problems which shouldn't have existed: Couldn't access wi-fi in apartment, nasty stain on floor of toilet and taps on bathroom hand basin were loose!
I'm not sure how you can service a room and not notice these problems. Shame really as otherwise it was a good stay.

However, there were a few problems which shouldn't have existed: Couldn't access wi-fi in apartment, nasty stain on floor of toilet and taps on bathroom hand basin were loose!
I'm not sure how you can service a room and not notice these problems. Shame really as otherwise it was a good stay.

Not the best stay we have had at the Townhouse
We have stayed on a number of occasions but this time there were a few issues that I did not expect. We were given a twin room although booked a double, The beds were uncomfortable and we both commented on the fact that we felt like we were constantly slipping out of the beds. The carpets on stairs were very grubby and hand rails felt tacky to extent that every time we came down stairs we went for the sanitizing gel. On leaving there was a querry on our bill which was eventually resolved but without going into detail it left me thinking that I had overpaid somewhere along the line. This was blamed on the system. All that said the staff were polite and helpful but it left us thinking that we may look at other hotels when we next stay in Norwich.

Beautiful hotel and great staff. It was a very hot day and the room was extremely hot. However when we got into the room, in the fridge was a jug of milk which had gone bad with a layer of solid cream on top, also there was a glass bottle that had a bit of water left in it. I do not think the room was serviced properly. There was also a few cobwebs.

Steer clear for these room prices...
For the price they charge i would steer clear of this establishment. I expected a lot better condition of the room, mattress awful, bathroom could do with a complete fit out. Even the cold water had to be run for at least 10mins before it was remotely cool. Was a shock brushing teeth with luke warm water.
Maybe the owners should invest in some portable air con devices for the rooms, seen as there is only the one small window when its in the early 30s degrees. Stairs carpet ripped and falling off all over the place. Really needs a refurbishment upstairs.

Good base for a weekend city break for the four of us. Easy access - walking and bus route into the city. Very helpful and friendly staff. The menu was varied and meals were excellent. The only amenity lacking was a quieter 'lounge' space to sit and read the paper in or to chat as small group in. Our rooms were excellent, spacious and well stocked - and items in the mini-bar were very tempting!

Dual bedroom apartment was very nice. Very spacious and clean. WiFi good. Digital radio is a nice touch. My only complaint was breakfast shuts down at 10.am so we missed it with a lazy wake up day. It would be a nice touch if breakfast could be substituted for lunch or at least a credit for the restaurant. I would recommend it and Norwich was a very nice town.
