LOVELY GIRL ON RECEPTION BUT - Absolutely disgusting! Was like walking into a brothel. The bed was filthy with stains all over the covers. The mattress sat on top of a piece of wood screwed to the base. The bathroom absolutely stunk and was thick in mould. Needless to say we checked out within 10 minutes of checking in. Would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy. AVOID!!!!!!

You get what you pay for. Room was clean. I had a relatively quiet room but still have a constant machine humming sound from outside.
My next door was playing loud music at 11pm and talked loudly. I told the male staff at night, he wasn very kind to get them sorted for me.

There were no curtains! Only cheap office type vertical slats and not covering the full window. No carpet only hard flooring. Door didn’t close properly. Some of the lights and sockets didn’t work. Karaoke bar underneath but TBF it did stop at 1000 pm. Workmen started outside the room door at 0730 on the second morning. Corridors all had hard flooring and walls so people passing and talking could be heard clearly. One of the worst hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in.

The receptionist was not helpfull for everything. The room that was given me was under terrible noise came from the pub in down floor. I requested them to change my room but they did not. When I carried my suitcase they even did not helped me when I was really needed to help. If you want to rest you should never choose that hotel.

This is a strange place... Clearly it has been renovated recently, but it's lacking in so many ways.. Generally, the staff are super-helpful, and I won't fault them. The hotel is actually two separate properties on Mount Pleasant, and the rooms in the building further up the street are really small... In the other building the rooms are bigger, but I was surprised to find that there are not bedside tables or lights, so all you have is the ceiling lights... The bathroom is fine, but my room had the tiniest hand basin I'd ever seen, and whilst a kettle is provided in the room, it is impossible to fill it up from the tap... Still, it's central with some good places to eat nearby, but I'm pretty sure you could do better for the same money elsewhere...

I got a room which has a single bed when I reserved a twin bed room. The property manger claimed that they had a mistake with the picture they put on Hotels.com. The bathroom was stinky from the drain, the door lock was not working so I needed the receptionist come to lock and unlock the door every time I wanted to leave the room and come back. The room was the dirtiest I ever saw and only a door separated it from the other room so basically it was a shared room

I booked 2 EXECUTIVE rooms for for a 5 night stay, so was therefore extremely disappointed not to get the \"city view\" or \"daily housekeeping\" that is promised for this option. The room was so small I couldn't even place my suitcase on the floor and had to store it next to the shower. There was no housekeeping whatsoever - I was told that staff don't go in without permission and things like toilet roll have to be requested. Why not have a \"do not disturb\" / \"please clean my room\" sign like most other hotels? Or just don't offer housekeeping.

My city view was of an industrial extractor fan.

The welcome wasn't very friendly (I stated I was checking in via intercom, I was answered with a sigh and \"yeah your name\" before I could go to reception), I was also asked for photo ID, which I hadn't been warned about, and had to hand over my bank card to have £1 taken from it. As I had paid in advance and there was no chargeable services available, this seemed odd.

We were put on the very top floor - 3 sets of stairs is hard going with a suitcase and no lift.

The location is convenient for the city centre - if I was only staying a couple of nights it would have been fine, but having paid for executive rooms for a bit of space and comfort, it was disappointing. I tried to get a partial refund for the difference between basic / standard rooms (what we were given) and executive rooms (what I paid for), but the hotel declined, hence the need to leave this review.

Room was on top of disco bar and other bars were across the road the music was thumping loud it vibrated the room I had to walk around town till 11:00 p.m. when the bar underneath stopped however bars across the road continued through the night.
People should be made aware that thumping loud excessive noise comes from bars below & surrounding area.

It’s a nice place to stay but just be care they make you pay a safety deposit of either £50 in cash which they return to you or they charge £1 to your bank card which gets deducted if they see any damage to the property that you made. The best way I can put this is that it’s decent for what you pay for.

After checking in and being out for the day, when we came back to our room later the key card wouldn’t work. The girl at reception didn’t know much and couldn’t help us to get in. After calling her manager we were told they would move us to a different room for the night despite all our belongings being in the locked room and that the manager would sort it out the next morning. We weren’t going to move rooms without any of our things and only when we put our foot down about this did the manager explain to the girl at reception how to get the door to open which we still had to do ourselves as she couldn’t figure it out. Completely unprofessional from the manager being too lazy to help and for not having properly trained staff. Took about an hour to get into our room and manager said nothing to us about it the next morning and didn’t offer an apology. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Worst Room Ever. Do not book here. Rip off!!!!
By far the worst value and truly awful accommodation.
I booked a standard double room with large single bed with city view and this is what I got, see the pictures. This was Room 8 and was totally not as described. More like a cupboard or cell!!
I would class it as small even for a single room never mind a double. There was not even enough room for a bedside cabinet!!! No room to store a case or hang anything up.
The overhead bedside light did not work, neither did the double socket by the side of the bed.
The TV had no aerial connection so limited to a few channels.
Wash basin that small you could only just about wash your hands and nothing else.
Shower thermostat was broken so water that hot it was unusable. High risk of scalding.
My city view through the small window was a brick wall with large extractor fan. The window was that high up you had to get on the bed to look out at the \"Stunning city view\".
Bed pushed up against the wall, you could not even walk round it.
The place is like a maze. I could not recommend this place to anyone and would advise not booking and looking elsewhere. You do not get what you pay for. I will be lodging an official complaint with Expedia and the hotel.
No body to complain to.
Only positive was the central location.

The room was clean. Although it was small, that was ok for me because I stayed alone. I wished I could've had a bigger table to put my toiletries in the room because there is no space in the toilet room for that. There were multiple options for dinner nearby just walking between 5 and 10 minutes. One issue was the noise at night from a bar/karaoke which was nearby. Our stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences we had in England. We arrived at night, and the check-in process was frustrating. The receptionist couldn’t find our reservation for 30 minutes because it was listed under our last name. He then realized the room had been given to another guest.

The receptionist tried to move us to a downgraded room with no view, despite us paying for a room with a view. After complaining, we were finally upgraded to a better room, but the whole process was exhausting. We were only in Liverpool for one night and half the next day, so it really counted that we missed our chance to visit the Cavern Club. By the time we got to our room, it was 11:30 PM, and the club closed at midnight.

The poor service continued at checkout. We thought checkout was at 12 PM, as listed on Expedia, but we were never told otherwise. The hotel also didn’t provide any information about checkout times or policies, and the staff was rude when we asked.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The lack of communication and poor customer service ruined our plans and made the stay stressful. I would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel was nice. Rooms in good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great city centre location.

Biggest issue was around external noise. The Celtic Corner bar across the road do Karaoke until 2am every night. Not sure if anything could be done to better soundproof the rooms.

The room did NOT hace curtain at top half of the window-plane wall and UNABLE to undress and change naked as other flats from higher oppisite building can see you in your room.

Heater from the wall came off and laid on floor as faulty and unable to heat the room as it is getting cold at night.

Tap in the sink in Small and Kettle was NOT fit in to get water and make a coffee.

The Caron did not fit the windows and there was black mould on the ceiling and shower head and one of The three beds were repaired by putting I wooden bored across it where the slated have gone hawere it was very well priced and my friends didn’t have the same complaints about their room. I do think we got a bit lucky but for £50 bewtwen 3 people it was good value just needs to be a bit cleaner

The lady on reception provided a good welcome and gave us some helpful information. Our twin room was very small and did not have many amenities in the way of storage. There was no wardrobe, bedside drawers or table and chair. There was also no mirror in the room, except a small bathroom mirror which meant it was difficult to get ready and do hair after a shower. The room had vertical blinds up at the window but we couldn’t see a working cord to open them. The windows above had no window covering so all the light streamed straight in all night and the tall building across the road could see straight into the bedroom. The floors felt grubby, unhoovered and unmopped. The beds looked like they needed replacing as the mattress was sagging and headboard looked dirty. The bathroom was tiny, no toilet roll holder, no bin in the toilet, no cupboard or shelf to put any toiletries. Very basic and was pleased to check out the next day.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. They let me down at the very last minute, cancelling the booking that I had made months before. It cost me considerably more to find an alternative at such late notice. A terrible way to treat people.

There was a Liverpool game on that day, so I suspect they gave my room to their mates or maybe reallised hey could get more for it.

Minor issues- there is a nightclub right next door, so if you are a light sleeper, beware. The shower door would not fully close and I just lived with it because I was afraid I would break it if I pulled on it too hard 😀

Smallest room ever, without a proper mirror, everything looked scruffy. Part of the room got flooded in the middle of the night (from the bathroom? A room above? No idea!) Once I cleaned it, it didn’t flood again. The area outside is not the most pleasant in the evening, very loud and you can hear everything in your room. Part of the window was broken - it looked like smashed from outside (single glazing still remaining).
The bed was ok though and people at the reception were nice. Located centrally so easy to walk everywhere.

Overall ok but quite expensive for what it is.

Used it for a stag party weekend. I mean the room size was ok but to have the room kettle on the window seemed dangerous. There was stains in the toilet when we arrived so clearly not cleaned very well. The bedding was very/heavy and weighted, which wasn’t needed when it was so warm outside and inside the room. No air con and the windows didn’t open wide so no air flow coming in. We stayed in room 4 and you need a masters to find it,….. expect to find a maze of corridors. I think we paid £149, which don’t get me wrong it was cheaper than the big chains but still expensive for what it is. Probably wouldn’t use it again if I’m honest.
