I had a wonderful stay at Mr. Jordaan. As soon as I arrived, the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. My check in was quick and simple. The room was clean, no complaints at all. There was one day I rushed out to sight see and I put the do not disturb sign up. Housekeeping still left me fresh towels/toilet paper and attached it to the door. I really appreciated the attention to detail during my stay. The staff provided me with a list of things to do and as a solo traveler I felt very safe. They lock the doors at night so only guests can scan in to the lobby. 10/10 I would absolutely stay here again.

The front desk person who checked me in after a very turbulent travel day was such a genuine and warm comfort! I loved Mr. Jordaan. I only had 16 hours to get a glimpse of Amsterdam, and their location was perfect. Everything is walking distance, with the canals right out of the doorstep. My room was cute, personal bathroom kind of small, yet tidy. Staff was amazingly helpful with directions of where to go site-see. I would stay there again.

We had a great stay. All the staff were great and friendly. The room was great. Location great. Minor things… people above us were a bit noisy late, but they sound like they were having fun. The bathroom was fine but was a bit awkward with the beam right over the sink.. being tall posed some hazards in the shower and near the sink.. I guess that is understandable with the building age. Two lovely days in Amsterdam

Stayed two nights at Mr. Jordaan. The room was clean, if small. That said, I highly recommend this hotel. The service was above and beyond what I have ever experienced at a hotel. The employees were helpful in planning our days and greeted us like we had been their long lost guests. We found the amenities in the common area very welcoming. Beautifully located so that every walk from the hotel took us to another fantastic location in the city. Would definitely stay here again.

The overall stay was just ok. There are number of positives about hotel. The location is excellent- quiet, very beautiful, and a short walk to cafes. The staff is friendly and helpful. However the condition of room and bathroom is 2 stars only. The room is darkly lit, the shower is tiny. The bed is very uncomfortable. If you are a couple you will be sleeping on separate small twin size beds that stand together but aren’t attached together. Little movement pulls them apart. I don’t want to stay there again.

From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and charm. A friendly handwritten card and some delicious gummies were waiting for me in the room—such a simple gesture, but it set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, with cozy rooms that strike the perfect balance between comfort and style.

One of the lovely perks is the free daily drink from the lobby—just another thoughtful touch that shows how much they care about their guests. They also provide clear and helpful instructions for everything you might need during your stay, including easy access to Wi-Fi and other essentials.

But the real highlight was during check-out: they surprised me with a goodie bag filled with snacks, cookies, and drinks. It was such a kind and unexpected gesture, and it truly speaks to the exceptional attention to detail and genuine hospitality that defines this hotel.

Amazing Hotel, Amazing People

I originally booked this hotel due to the location and price. Both of which were great! But what quickly became my favorite part of this hotel is the people that work there. Everyone was warm, helpful and welcoming. Bianca helped us one evening and really saved the day! The hotel is located on a quiet and safe canal yet within walking distance to all of the sites. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. They even gave us a little reusable water bottle since the water is filtered and drinkable in Amsterdam. The hotel was close to many restaurants as well. Coffee and tea were readily available and every afternoon they had pasteries. Such a class act of a hotel! I highly recommend Mr. Jordaan to anyone looking for an amazing stay in Amsterdam.

The room had a really bad smell and I opened a window to try and freshen it up a bit, but that didn’t work. When I went downstairs to ask for another room, I was challenged as if I was lying or something and I said to reception, “I’m happy for you to go up there and verify for yourself,” and they wouldn’t, Instead they kept saying their rooms are never smelly, etc. I asked if I could just get a refund and look for another hotel and they wouldn’t do that either. I won’t be staying there again.

Almost don’t want to give it 5 stars out of fear it will be full next time I am in Amsterdam, it’s that great! This is a wonderful, unique and ideally located boutique hotel that is a pure delight. The staff is wonderful, friendly, incredibly nice and helpful. Lots of little touches, like nibbling cookies by the 24 hour coffee, a shelf full of guides on Amsterdam, a little packet of treats on checkout, and so much more. Numerous little local cafes within a block or two in a quiet residential section just minutes from Dam Square.

Great location. 15 minute bus ride from Amsterdam Centraal and the staff was kind and welcoming. The room and bathroom is small but provides everything you need for your stay. We were able to sleep with the window open without it being noisy. Walking distance to the city center, but it's surrounded by places to eat, drink, and shop. Breakfast was delicious with many choices. There are thoughtful touches all throughout the space. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can't recommend it enough.

Jordaan is my favorite neighborhood and this was a perfectly situated hotel. The touches they added were superb and we felt right at home. They let us into our room when we arrived right after our red eye flight (it happened to be available). The bed was comfortable. It was cozy and the elevator is slow (I was traveling with someone who has mobility issues). But, with the location, it was perfect. I was able to do some work as well in their common area.

I would recommend skipping the breakfast they offer if you have the time and walk nearby to a bakery or restaurant as the pricing is relatively similar and the food will be better. Great for a quick grab and go though if you’re strapped on time. Do not take the taxi from the hotel to the airport. It felt like a robbery at 50 euros plus an additional fee because we didn’t have cash nor was there a visible meter to confirm it was honest and fair. In the book provided by the hotel in each room, they recommend you to request a ride through the front desk and I urge you not to because it’s nearly half to uber. I checked after the fact and it was half to Uber from the airport to hotel. Don’t take the taxi. The uber rides we took were very nice and comfortable. Aside from the mediocre breakfast and taxi issue, very great hotel and would recommend to others. Would love to go back.

Very kind staff, particularly at the reception. Two of them are Portuguese speaking, by the way. My room was very clean. Patrons seemed to be mostly families and couples. Staff kindly upgraded my room and there are free snacks around 4/5pm (delicious pastries). The hotel also greeted me with cute candies as a holiday gift and gave me a bag with more of them upon checkout. The neighborhood is by the canal, but much quieter than other parts of town (despite being very close to most attractions). I will definitely stay here again.

It’s definitely a 3 star. Rooms are very very small. I could barely turn around in the bathroom. My husband 6’3 could barely fit in the shower. The hotel is in a pretty good location though.

If you’re looking for luxury or a more comfortable stay, this isn’t it. And i paid 875$ for 3 nights, don’t pay more than USD100$ a night. To me it’s not worth more than that

Truly 5 stars. From my arrival and being allowed to check in early. Shout out to Oluwadamilola who welcomed me with such warmth and a great smile. It was so refreshing, I felt like home away from home.
I loved the directions on how to get there and the email recommendations of things to do, places to eat, museums and the links were so helpful. I tried the Dutch food places and Pesca.
For my first time in Amsterdam these recommendations were so valued and great.
I did mistakenly book the Van Gogh and Rembrandt lights instead of the Van Gogh museum so be careful booking the right one. It is right there I just didn’t notice both.

Loved the decor. Loved the snack bag as I left. Everything was provided in the room plus a snack and coffee/ tea/ soda downstairs.

I would definitely stay here again. Maybe a canal view room next time. I am so glad I stayed here.

One thing though is that I would have liked to have a door hook or wall hook to hang my towels. But just minor.

They think of everything, umbrella if you need one and helpful with questions on buying tickets for the tram nearby.
You should stay here. A rare find.
