The hotel is perfectly located, within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions. The room was lovely, clean, and comfortable- only minor drawback was the wet room, but it didn’t affect our stay. As well as this, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had a very pleasant experience and would happily stay here again!

Fantastic location in the heart of Amsterdam! It's a decent place for a shorter stay, with basic amenities. The hotel is located on the upper floors of a classic Amsterdam building, which gives the interior a bit of a rustic look. Travellers should be aware that due to its central location and age of the building, the stairs are steep and there is no lift, the windows are very pretty but single-glazed, and there is no air conditioning. So it might get noisy at night and quite warm in summer, especially if you are on the top floor. It's (relatively) cheap and cheerful, and we have not had any issues during our stay.
So in a nutshell, it's an affordable, well-located option if you are able and willing to climb a few stairs and don't need much in the way of luxury. It's a 3-minute walk from a tram hub and about a 15-minute walk from the main station.

Had a wonderful stay here and the staff were great. The lady from Birmingham was so helpful.

Windows are a bit thin and the room could be a bit loud with the street below sometimes, but a minor problem.

Would definitely stay here again.

Good location. Run down and dingy. Walls rather thin, could hear the man next door snoring all night. However, we could deal with all that. The issue was BED BUGS. We had a slightly delayed reaction but the day after our stay we were covered in bites. On a closer look at previous reviews searching for bed bugs- we are definitely no the first. Let’s just hope we didn’t take any home with us. As we had a delayed response it meant we didn’t take precautions with luggage. You live and learn.

Staff were great however top flight of stairs caused me to miss my step and i cut my head and cracked a rib. Also on last evening i arrived back at hotel to find bedding etc stripped but not replaced. Reception remade bed but no towels.

you’re paying for what you get! it was a clean place to stay and a bed to sleep in in a great location for an affordable price. The stairs are steep , and the bathroom does make a noise but overall we had a very nice experience and would stay again.

Cracked window , Shower head broken,
Sink massive crack, bottom of door eaten
Away by rats , Bed needs replacement.
Main stairs had been fixed with carpet
Samples , coffee machine didn’t work,
Internet was none existent?
4 Stars for this dump.

Really pleasant staff waiting when we arrived, answered our questions and made us feel really welcome.
The balcony area was lovely to sit and enjoy the views, was nice to wait here before we checked in.
The room was clean and were left a good amount of towels, bedding was clean too.
The room was abit run down, some areas of paint missing but this didn’t bother us!
We would definitely stay again!

The only good thing is the location.
The staff is mean, I like to take long hot showers and in some point the alarm came out and the staff came to my room so mad telling me close the door because the steam is coming out… one, to close the door you needed to slam it hard what is awkward since everyone can hear every time you go to the restroom and also the window doesn’t close either and they don’t have AC or doesn’t work either idk. Just look something better for a little bit more money if you can

The steps are rather steep. I would recommend packing light. No AC but a good breeze and windows open well. No screens on windows so if the windows are open, bugs and birds can fly in. It’s an excellent location and easy to find. Everything is very comfortable. The water gets hot fast. Nice restaurant for breakfast almost next door. About a 10 minute walk from Centraal.

This hotel is very close to Wester Klerk and the Anne Frank House. Easy walk to grocery store and tram line. Corner of Herrengracht canal and Raadhuisstraat. Very friendly staff. Warning you will get exercise on the stairs! No elevator.

Old furniture and covered / inoperable windows aside, the bathroom and also the whole room smelled horrible like a backed up drain. Theres no way the staff cleaning and prepping the room for us earlier that day did not know.

The whole place is run down and you go up multiple flights of small steep stairs, so be aware of you have luggage or health / mobility concerns.

It's cheap but not worth the savings.

AVOID! The bedding had yellow stains, bed bugs, and hair. The beds had not been changed since the last people left the room. When we approached the hotel staff, they said there was nothing they could do since there was no manager available. We had to leave and pay over the odds for a new hotel close by. worst experience of my life.

My experience at this hotel in Amsterdam was horrible. Unfortunately, it was too late to change hotels when l realized how bad it was.
The hotel was very dirty and poorly maintained. There are five flights of extremely steep and narrow stairs, which are very dangerous for both elderly people and children. It honestly felt unsafe — someone could easily fall, end up in the hospital, or worse.
Some of the staff members were also rude and unhelpful. The bed linens were not changed daily, and when they finally changed them on the third day, they were still dirty. I were given only one towel for everything we needed. There was not even tissue paper provided in the room.
The entire place felt very old, neglected, and uncomfortable. My rating would be zero — or even negative if that were possible.

Loved our stay here. All staff were friendly. Water and soft drinks available for purchase from reception 24/7. Our room had everything we needed and was very clean. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Location of the hotel was perfect, lots of nearby shops and eateries. This was our 2nd stay here, and we’d stay again.

Rooms could be cleaner and the building seems to be outdated, but as a solo traveller I wasn’t in the room all that much other than to sleep. Contrary to the other reviews, I found the bed and pillows quite comfy. Suchhhhhh an ideal spot as the hotel is literally dead central Amsterdam with shops, restaurants & cafes all within the area. Wifi was a little slow as I found myself switching to my data quite often. All the staff I interacted with were super friendly, helpful & polite!!

The bathroom smelled of sewage and the faucets were age old and dripping. Bed was good enough but overall this place was absurdly expensive for hostel levels of comfort. The location is good, though I consider this of secondary importance in a city as small and accessible as Amsterdam.

Excellent location. The room—much like the stairs—is typically Dutch: small! It is quite expensive compared to other cities (and there are many taxes and fees), but that is due to the limited residential space available in the city itself. It offers a direct view of the canal, and you can walk everywhere.

This 2-star hotel was the worst I've ever stayed in. First, carrying our luggage up an extremely high staircase—not just one floor, but three—was incredibly difficult, especially for a woman. Second, upon entering the room, we were immediately greeted by a strong odor, likely from the toilet, making us afraid to take a shower. In short, this was an extremely terrible hotel. What I'm most unhappy about is paying the same price for a five-star hotel!

The only good about this place is location. DONT STAY there ever. Dirty, unkempt hotel. You have to climb over 40 steep stairs to get to reception with your luggage. No closets or drawers in the room, just coat rack. Very sad experience

I booked this place based on the nice photos. Well its nothing like that. The staircases are filthy and unsafe to start with. My room at check in wasnt even done when I was handed the keys. The room looked unsuitable to stay even if it had been cleaned! Dirty walls,sticky windows. As the hotel was fully booked I had to find another accommodation . This hotel runs on no refund policy, despite of all the complaints! Luckily I managed to get a refund through Expedia.
The place should not even have one star… please avoid it ! Its a health risk

Very close to everything. Perfect location. Nice day time staff, night time staff wasn’t super friendly. Stairs are a lot, they’re very steep so if you have a lot of luggage not the choice for you. No elevator. Small room. Not dirty but not super clean either. Don’t clean rooms during your stay, stayed for 3 nights, only asked to come in and clean once at 4 pm. By then we were chilling out for a bit before going back out for the night.
Overall pretty good for the price paid.

Staff were helpful when required we asked for a do not disturb sign for our stay. We kept everything together and tidy during our stay.
The location is brilliant for somewhere to sleep. Would have liked a full length mirror in room.

Hotel Di-Ann provided a wonderful stay. The accommodations are small, but you’ll spend most of your time in the city anyways. Just a short walk from Dam Square and City Centre for shopping and museums or Jordaan for great food and drinks. The staff were all so kind. I recommend Di-Ann for your next stay in Amsterdam.

This is my 2nd stay here my 1st time i had a double room with balcony and this time paid extra for delux with balcony but the room was worse than the double, stained towels and stains on ceiling and paintwork was shabby and the room seemed smaller aswell however for a budget price i didnt want 2 cause a fuss and the staff was very friendly and helpful i will stay here again but wont pay extra for the delux and the location is great and having a balcony makes a difference

The coldest room ever. They didn’t turn on AC before, I came to room and did turn on but it took a while to make it warmer. I stayed one day and next morning room was warm.

The worst experience I have ever had. DONT GO THERE. All of the hotel smelled like smoke even the room. We arrived at midnight and when we saw the room, me and my other 2 friends I looked for another hotel to book. It was disguisting and smelled like smoke. It was snowing outside and the window of the room was wide open, I am sure to let go of the smoke. We were extremely tired so we slept, did not take a shower, and left the first thing in the morning. There was no shower, just a shower head in the middle of the bathroom. NEVER again. They should not be allowed to be a hotel.

Nothing was good about this stay, the room was filthy the bathroom had poo up the tiles, the lamps had dirty plasters stuck on them and didnt work. there was mold everywhere in the room and out of the room, you are given a coffee machine with no coffee or cups
The floor was sticky and was all peeling round the edges. The beds were as hard as bricked
We booked a double bed and got two singles pushed together.
Trip adviser had it advertised as a 3 star when it is only a 2 star
Booked 3 nights left on the second day
The fire alarms were going off multiple times in the night, was the worst hotel experience i have seen cleaner steet corners.
Pictures that were advertised online were not of the same hotel we stayed at.
There was no phone in the room as advertised.

Overall the stay at this hotel was okay. The place could do with some tlc and could be abit cleaner upon arrival. For some reason there was a bad sewage like smell coming from the bathroom so we had to be moved rooms. Despite a couple of issues staff were polite,understanding and resolved the issues which was good of them. Standard hotel room so no high expectations but a great location very close to central Amsterdam.

the window did not close properly amd no catch
no blind to 1 window as it was ripped and unusable
