The room was clean and well equipped( fridge, microwave, coffee maker keurig). The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was good and have a good choice of food( waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereals, pastries,…) the hotel emplacement is perfect !! We get a great view on the EmpireState building.

1. Shower water was barely lukewarm. I reported to the front desk and was told they've been aware of it for some days but hadn't fixed it.
2. The room refrigerator is placed right next to the bed and makes a loud noise when it goes on and off and wakes you up.
3. I understand many NY hotel rooms are small but this one wasn't livable. There was no room around the sink to put anything on and no shelves anywhere for toiletries. Even the kleenex holder was buried under the sink.
4. Room lighting was less than poor. I couldn't even keep the drapes open to get some light because there were workers right outside my window working on hotel..
5. It's a foundation bed and the mattress kept slipping down and had to keep pushing it back up to the headboard,
TV get losing the signal.
6. The only positive was the guys at the front desk when I checked in were very nice and accommodating.
7. I felt I would be safe reserving at a Wyndham property but don't see doing that in the future.,.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The staff is super friendly, and the room was extremely clean. I enjoy the boutique style of 4 rooms per floor. If you are looking for a huge room this place is not for you, but given the location, price and staff I would stay here anytime over some of the larger chain hotels.

The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The location is excellent. I would definitely stay here again. It's close to all the theaters, MoMA, and shopping but just outside of all the chaos of Times Square. Easy access to cabs and subway. Fresh fruit and good continental selection for breakfast. My wife and I spent two nights. The location is excellent, very near to the Theater District, NY Public Library, great restaurants, and Bryant Park. The room was small, but very clean, quiet, and the bed was comfy. The staff was very friendly, helpful and kind, especially Wanda and Fausto. When I clumsily cut my hand with my razor, I went to the front desk hoping that they would have have a first aid kit. They did in fact have a well stocked kit, and Wanda took the time to personally clean my nasty cut, apply triple antibiotic and fashion a bandage. I was very touched by her kindness and care. In sum our experience was very nice and we’ll definitely stay there again.

Smallest room ever

I’m surprised because most of the reviews downplayed other reviews concerning the size of the room. I was surprised to arrive to the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in! If we had brought our full size suitcase it would not have fit. Many people in comments said the room was fine-albeit small. This was too small. Barely room to walk around the bed on one side. No counter space around the sink. I would rethink if you need space or have a large suitcase. Otherwise-bed and pillows comfy and hot water good pressure in shower

Do not stay here. Save your money.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the doors were locked at 9:30pm local time. I had to wait for someone to open the door for me. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Going up into my room, I realized that the walls were paper-thin and that I could hear everything- the toilet flushing in the room next door, the shower head when it was turned on, entire conversations that were being had. The space itself was very tiney and the pictures online were deceiving. It was a very cramped space. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible (it was so dim I had to use my cell phone flashlight.) And lastly, anytime my neighbor would go in/out of his/her room, the door would slam shut, and shake my entire hotel room wall. I finally got so fed up, I called the front desk to ask if I could be moved if they couldn't resolve this issue. I barely got any sleep and stayed only 1 night at the Wingate.

I would strongly advise NOT staying here unless this is your only option.

Fantastic Stay from Check-In to after Check-Out

We had a wonderful stay at Wingate. The rooms were spotless, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the hospitality made us feel right at home. Did not like the shower. Water ran all over the floor. Ammenities like shampoo and soap are very scant. All mini sizes. Coffee in the room, only 2 regular coffee pouches. No complementary bottled water.
Breakfast, very poor. Additionally the staff lets the food available to run out and takes very lo g to replenish it. Same with the coffee. Totally empty pot when I tried to serve myself. Incredibly small front desk area. Dining area also very small. For the price of one night stay, not worth it.

La habitación que me toco era súper bonita, no era de las mas básicas, era súper completa, la limpieza excelente, el personal muy amoroso, sobre todo el personal de limpieza y desayuno.
En la conserjería no hablan español y tampoco hacen el intento en entender a los turistas que eramos en un 80% de habla hispana lo cual fue bastante antipático.
El desayuno es bueno pero le falta fruta, si le agregasen fruta sería perfecto!
La relación precio/calidad estuvo muy bien.

My stay was going well until I woke up to massive amounts of charges on my credit card. I only agreed to one refundable security hold. They charged my card the security fee twice. I then noticed multiple other unauthorized charges on my credit card made by their front desk staff. I wanted to check out at noon but due to the charges I immediately went to the lobby to confront the front desk and check out because I no longer felt comfortable. They said that it was a mistake done by a new person and my money should be returned in a few days. I’m currently waiting on my funds to be refunded back to my card. They didn’t offer any incentive for the poor experience but instead brushed off like it was nothing. Please check your card balance if you stay at this hotel. I’m beyond frustrated with my experience.

The hotel is in the perfect location, on 37th between 5th and 6th Aves. We were so close to everything--Empire State Building, Rock Center, Central Park, theater district. The room was surprisingly quiet considering the location. We didn't hear much street noise at all during the night, even being lower on the 6th floor. The included breakfast was good, but seating is limited. One staff member could be friendlier, but overall the staff was nice and helpful. The room was small, but it's NYC, so I expected that; but it was very well laid out. Lots of space for our luggage and items still.
