What a DELIGHTFUL hotel! The staff was amazing, the room was well-appointed, clean, and quiet, and the location cannot be beat for proximity to transportation / Grand Central Station. Daily breakfast has no-mess bagels and a great on-demand espresso / coffee machine. This is my new go-to in NYC.

Room was clean, the staff were helpful and courteous (volunteered information on how I could get discounted rates for the metropolitan museum). The room was indeed smaller than what the photos make them out to be, but we were completely fine with that. There was no wasted space, essentially.

The only problem I had was that both the sink and the shower were clogged. As soon as I run the water, there would be a big puddle within seconds. It also did not help that the floor for the shower wasn’t even and sort of caved in a bit like an upside down umbrella, so the entire shower floor was one big puddle.

We chose Pestana Park Avenue based on the great reviews and it absolutely did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the hotel lobby was stylish and inviting, creating a great fist impression. We had travelled all the way from Scotland to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were greeted with a lovely surprise in our room — such a thoughtful touch that we truly appreciated, thank you!

Our room was spotless and although compact, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is fantastic — just a 5-minute walk to Grand Central Station, with plenty of great dining options nearby. The Midtown East/Murray Hill area felt very safe, even when walking around at night.

Very small rooms compounded by bulky bed and inefficient room layout. Really was not great value vs. other hotels nearby.

On the positive side, rooms were very clean, water pressure was very strong, nice little cafeteria area with 24/7 coffee, tea and hot water on the ground floor. Close to Grand Central.

The Pestana at Park Avenue was fantastic. It is in a great location with Grand Central Station only 3 blocks away. The property was clean and in good shape. My wife and I would recommend this hotel for many reasons, but most of all for how quiet it was.

The staff was amazing, the croissants were delicious, the shower was the perfect temperature and the bed was comfortable! I only have 2 complaints, which is why this is 4 star instead of 5. 1) The conditioner in the shower is awful. Cheap Pantene is 10x better than the stuff they’re using. 2) It’s noisy. This can be solved by the guest bringing inexpensive silicone ear plugs from Walmart. But when I tell you it’s noisy, it isn’t just the lack of insulation to dampen NYC noise, but they also have no stripping around the room doors, so you end up hearing everything from the room next door. When I can hear them (clearly) scan their key card, you know it could be approved.
But on Fridays, the have fresh-squeezed OJ, chocolates and some sort of event in the afternoon. (I couldn’t attend). They also gave a huge complimentary bottle of water and credits to use toward the mini-bar, so I never had to wander around NYC thirsty. It was a wonderful perk. It is also so close to Grand Central and Time Square. If you can cancel out the noise, it’s definitely worth a stay!

Beautiful Boutique hotel stay

The room was cute and quaint and perfect for solo traveling. I was allowed to get free items from the mini-bar, had Voss water and Nespresso as complimentary drinks in room, croissants for breakfast, and the staff were exceptionally nice, welcoming and accommodating. For a boutique hotel, this was perfect and I would recommend this to anyone. I cannot wait to return. No complaints - perfectly situated within walking distance to most places in NYC and it was just amazing.

I had a mixed experience at the Pestana Park Avenue that I think future guests should be aware of, especially those traveling with companions or pets.
The highlights: The staff here are absolutely incredible - welcoming, attentive, and genuinely amazing throughout our stay. The hotel is also wonderfully pet-friendly, which made traveling with our dog so much easier. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have a modern, updated feel that's quite appealing. And you truly can't beat the location - we could walk to all the major NYC destinations we wanted to visit, which saved us time and money on transportation.
The challenge: The rooms are extremely small, even by NYC standards. There are no larger room options available, which became quite challenging when staying with my partner and our dog. The space felt cramped with three of us (including our four-legged family member), and it was difficult to move around comfortably or store our belongings.
Bottom line: If you're a solo traveler or don't mind very compact accommodations, this could be perfect for you - the service, cleanliness, and location are all top-notch. However, couples or anyone needing more space should definitely consider the room size carefully before booking. The pet-friendly policy is a huge plus if you're traveling with furry companions.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! BOOK OTHER HOTELS!!
For those who are planning to book, I recommend reconsidering. I booked this hotel because of the high rating; however, I feel I got scammed. First things first: I was charged an extra fee upon arrival for something called a “facilities fee,” with no prior notice or explanation. The room is so freaking small, and I booked the “stream view” yet could barely see any street. More important, I didn’t know the parking garage across the street closes at 10 PM, forcing me to scramble to find parking each night.NOW PLEASE READ MORE CAREFULLY! The room is right next to another room, so you hear all the noise, morning housekeeping, the elevator door closing, guests slamming their door, everything sounds like it’s in your room. I stayed three nights and didn’t get a single good sleep. Also worth mentioning: the AC unit sits directly above the bed and is so noisy. It cycles on and off all night, so I had to turn it off at 2 AM, and then the cleaning staff started up again in the morning. With this price, you could stay at a Hilton or Hyatt and actually rest. I felt completely scammed and utterly exhausted. Please treat yourself better! BOOK OTHER HOTELS!!
