Holiday Inn - the niu, Loco el is named after the former Hirschau ironworks at the Englischer Garten, which produced world-famous locomotives not far from today's hotel location more than 175 years ago. The name Loco is derived from the English term .

The niu Loco picks up on this story and brings it back to life with a colorful nightlife atmosphere: industrial chic meets club! Colorful candy pastel meets rudimentary remnants of the steam locomotive era: connecting rods, railway wheels and rails shine in brass and gold designs.

Overnight stay in Munich and we chose the niu because of the fantastic location. The room was clean, the beds were great, and despite overlooking the autobahn it was quiet indoors. The breakfast was delicious!

When I arrived at the airport, discovered the taxi or Uber would be $79-$110 eu each way to the hotel. More than the hotel. It should not be listed as recommended, when searching for hotels close to the airport! I requested for a refund. They never replied.

The breakfast was great with the variety of food. The location was not bad with McDonalds and gas station across street. The train station, however, is about 8-10 mins in the dark after sunset. I know it is pretty save out there but still I always walk with cautious when I have to walk by myself.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I am a hugely loyal client with IHG and have had the pleasure of staying in them all over the world. This place definitely earns the “funky” description many have given.

Breakfast was great and the location was perfect for me as I needed to be near Motorworld. However it is a little further if you are looking to be closer to town and entertainment.

The main thing that made the stay special was how great all the team were who worked here. They helped with everything I needed from bag storage and also assisted with late check out. Thanks for that. They are all so genuine and kind that I felt a great deal of hospitality in the stay. This is usually indicative of a good working culture. Thanks for this great service

Great parking that is underground and secure. Some of you may be here to tent a super car which I was here and I had concerns about where to park an expensive vehicle. Their underground parking is perfect for this and will be therefore returning next year for my next car rental and trip around Germany.

The property is clean and staff friendly and professional. It is not close to the English Gardens or downtown Munich. However the train station is a 5 minute walk and everything is 20 minutes away on that.

The hotel room is small, but modern and clean. I didn’t care for the disco ball on the ceiling, but you can turn that off or keep it on if you like it.

Holiday inn niu

The hotel is quite decent. Rooms are comfortable, but a bit cramped. If you are just sleeping there and out most of the day, it's fine. There are very few restaurants right near the hotel, so you have to either get hotel breakfast or go a few ubahn stops to find a place to eat. The studentenstadt ubahn is a short walk away.

Situated outside the city, this may not be to everyone's taste but it was great for me to get to the Allianz Arena, as the Ubahn station is only a ten minute walk away, which gives frequent trips both to the ground and the city. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the breakfast choice is very good, and the staff are great.

Great affordable option in Munich

Great value for the money! The room had good air conditioning, comfy beds and pillows, clean bathroom and quiet stay. Excellent breakfast. Very close to the U line for transportation. Parking in the underground ramp is 13 euro a day. Fairly reasonable for the cost of the room. Excellent location for inexpensive stay.

I've stayed here twice and both times the rooms have been clean and comfortable with no issues, even if they weren't the fanciest rooms. The bathroom and shower were also good, and the room temperature was comfortable. The only thing missing is a gym.

Nice hotel. Price was over expensive due to a trade show being in town. Not to much in walking distance. 20minute ride to down town. I’ve also never stayed at a place with a disco ball in the room. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice and they have a fridge with beers in the lobby.

Niu Loco in Munich Germany

Pretty, decorative room. Our beds were very comfortable but shower space was small but manageable. The bar stays open 24hrs and staff was very friendly and helpful. They also had a mini photobooth that we didn’t found out until the 2nd day of our stay but we will definitely book with Niu again!

Claudia and her front desk team were great! Room was clean, beds a little on the soft side but otherwise comfortable. Air conditioning did not seem to cool the room down at all so we had to keep the window open because it got warm at night. Breakfast buffet was excellent and decently priced at €18.50. Hotel has a nearby U-Bahn and bus stop right outside.

Staff was professional, due to some flight issues we ended up arriving much earlier than 3 pm check in time. We got there at 9 am, was greeted professionally and with a warm welcome by the gentleman. He was kind enough for making it work and accommodate an earlier check in than 3 pm. The style and administration of the niu Loco is a little bit different than most of the traditional hotels. It is designed and organized very efficiently, that is why the price service relation is excellent. The staff was well trained and very motivated. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

The hotel is fine for a short stay and if you have ready access to your own car or other local transportation. It wasn't easy to get to by airport (cost was about seventy euros by taxi; no direct option by metro or public transportation). The closest metro is about a 10 minute walk through an isolated stretch that was dark at night. Ubers downtown is about twenty euros each way/15 minutes, and the metro is about 2 euros/30 minutes. Food/bar options are very lacking in walking distance, just a gas station convenience store across the street. We arrived early after an overnight flight and had to pay extra for early check-in (even though a room was ready). The room itself was nice and comfortable, and their efforts to be eco-friendly are top-notch (including a free drink at the bar if you don't take cleaning service). But, there is a light smoke smell that lingers everywhere.

Hotel is very nice, everything is modern and it is well situated near metro station. Staff is quite friendly. Room is very small and bathroom amenities are quite poor, one cleaning liquid which is both shampoo and soap, also they did not have slippers.
