Clean room and bathroom. Friendly staff. The window can be fully opened and the heating is quite strong. However, there was a smoke smell in the corridor and in the room. Not sure if it was from the previous guests. There was no fridge in the room, which could be quite useful

The location is very close to the centre of Munich so very suitable, and 5 minute walk to the closest underground station. Street parking was limited so we opted for the underground hotel parking which was quite expensive, but probably normal for hotel parking. We don't eat breakfast so I can't comment on that. I did find the bed a little too firm for my liking. I would have liked a small refrigerator in the room which they did not have.We are fans of the Accor Hotel chain.

I've stayed at the Mercure a few times in the past as a traveling BMW employee, and was pleased to find as a leisure traveler it's retained its same good quality. It's a great location, clean, quiet and friendly. Breakfast buffet as it should be (loved the weisswurst!) My only complaint was the steep cost increase due to Oktoberfest. But I know all hotels in MUC gouge during the fest. Stay here when the fest is over.

Great city break in Munich

We did not choose breakfast as there are cheaper options outside of the hotel, but obviously not a buffet.
The rooms were clean and comfy, with a kettle and teas available. No fridge, miss having one for storage as it was 35C.
Good location - 7 min walk from underground, but we walked daily into Marianplatz which took about 40 minutes. Close to the really beautiful English Gardens.

Great location. rooms are very well insulated and quiet and don't hear the traffic noise. I struggled with the mattress quality as too soft for my liking. Bedding seems polyester what also didn't contribute to a good night sleep. I don't have an issue with large pump bottles in the bathroom but recognised here again that there are not well maintained.
Anyways, would recommend this.place to any traveller .

Overall it was okay for the price. Munich is a very expensive city and the room was affordable. Schwabing is a cool neighborhood and it was fun to stay away from touristic areas and city center.

wrong room!

Intially i had to cancel one night on Maike's room but this was not possible to do even before the cancelation deadline.
then when i arrived at the hotel i was told someone extended their stay and my room was taken. so i was left with 2 option. the first one was a much smaller room with a much smaller bed and the second was a room on the main room wich was told to be very noisey.
This is very disappointing because i booked this well in advance to have a specific room with a specific bed size in order to sleep well before a full day of meetings

It was nice and clean and quiet. I've stayed there before and will stay there again. I would give it a 5 instead of a 4 but in this room the heat was way too high no matter what the thermostat was set at. It's a shame to waste energy but we had to open the window to cool the room. Also the shower didn't drain well and it overflowed onto the floor.

It is a typical European small room but it’s ok. The room is clean. The mattress is too soft and makes noise when we move around. We have two blankets on a double size bed. The only complaint that we have is the sewage smell from the bathroom. I was awakened at 2 am by the smell on the first night, the smell got lesser as days went by to the 3rd night as we always turned off AC and opened the windows in the daytime.

Its important to know that a standard room faces a busy road. If you are a light sleeper , then it is worth paying the extra for a garden room which faces away from the road. The hotel is very near tram and bus stop.
The staff and customer service is friendly and polite.

I would stay again. Price was decent for what you get, although rooms aren’t very big. The car park is very narrow and hard to get in and out if you had anything bigger than a sedan or small suv. Walking distance to train station that goes direct to main areas. Only thing was the morning we were checking out noticed that the roof may be broken in one part of the panel. When we were packing up our stuff the one panel of the roof collapsed . No one was hurt and good thing it was not long u til we were leaving

This is a very quiet hotel if you get a courtyard room. The room was overly hot and we couldn’t regulate the thermostat. Breakfast is pretty good but I wouldn’t say it’s worth 20 euros.

We booked this hotel on short notice since our original hotel was not very nice. Very clean, spacious rooms and great, knowledgeable staff. Hotel is very close to train and bus stations. A little further away from Marienplatz but there was still a lot of shopping and places to eat close by.

Hotel building site!

The staff are lovely and try to solve issues however don’t book this hotel until at least July 2019. There is major building works being carried out both inside and outside the hotel. We arrived for a 3 night stay following a mega journey USA, London Munich. We were woken at 0800 to drilling etc. We had been given a first floor room. The lovely staff moved us to the 5th flor which helped greatly. Our friends were also on the 1st floor and opened there curtains to find workman carrying out duties right outside! The lower two floors should either be shut or offered at heavily discounted prices. It is basically a work site.
Should Accor hotels respond to this review with a more precise date of when the work is finished then that shows a lack of customer care as this should have been made clear in the first instance. I suggest you choose another hotel. I am not silly enough to say I won’t use this brand again, I use Accor hotels frequently however this brand has gone down in my estimations. Once again thank you to the lovely, friendly staff, you saved the day, I suggest your management team visit to learn good customer service.

The whole hotel is under construction. You cannot see the entrance from the street, as it is behind a crane and a pile of construction materials. The workers make noise early in the morning. There is a bad smell of paint and air coming from the sewer floating through the corridors.

If a hotel is under construction, it should state so clearly before booking rooms and it should lower its prices accordingly. As it stands, I paid full price for a bad experience. This is dishonest.

Nice hotel very comfortable and clean. Beds were extremely comfortable and facilities were all what you would expect. Currently though it’s being refurbished so there is scaffolding out side and a Crane. Parts in side are sectioned off. But none of this impacted on us. Heard workers talking out side our windows one morning but it wasn’t early and they were just getting on with there job.
Only gripe I have was shower wasn’t very powerful. Which made it difficult to wash.
Friendly staff , helpful.
Enjoyed staying there and would again. Nice little bar next door by the way.

The front of the hotel is currently covered in scaffolding and the rear 'garden' is a building site. The cement mixer started at 9.15am and spluttered on for hours. The room was average but the air conditioning did not work well and we had to sleep with the window wide open. The first day the hot water was not working. The 4th & 5th day the lift was not working and we had to carry our bags down 4 flights of stairs. On the positive side it is well situated in Schwabing with local restaurants and close to the U-Bahn station.

This hotel has decent staff and clean rooms. The location is not the most ideal for tourists, however it is a short walk to Münchener Freiheit. If you find it is cheaper to stay here than other hotels in the area, it's not a bad idea. The bed and pillows were not as comfortable as other hotels at the same price point.

Cons: our room was on the road and the traffic and city noise was very loud; the shutter system, which is electrically operated, would come on spontaneously in the middle of the night and early morning, letting light in when not wanted; the bathroom was very small and cramped and had no ventilation or fan to remove condensation and doors; the shower glass enclosure over the bath leaked and the toilet flushing system was not operating well; the room cleaning happened fairly late in the day, after 1pm

The air conditioning did NOT work in our room whatsoever. It was very hot so we had to open our window for cooler air. Leopoldstrasse is the Main Street through Schwabing, so it was very loud with the windows open. Plus, people were smoking right outside the front entrance of the hotel, and the smoke blew into our first floor window. The TV was great. The double room was not ideal for a couple. The bed was rather small and quite firm. There was only a bed stand on one side of the bed, not both. Breakfast was good, but very overpriced at 16 € per person.

Great location in fun neighbourhood.

This hotel is a good solid choice if you prefer to stay just outside the downtown core. The price was very reasonable and it is located in Schwabing where there are many great pubs and restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance. The hotel is clean, well equipped and situated not far from the U6 Subway line right in the heart of this vibrant district. I would definitely recommend it.

Nice Hotel as not much else with availability on the dates I travelled. No restaurant but a couple of good Italians close by (one almost next door the other a couple of mins further down the road). Room was clean and comfortable, I didn't bother with breakfast as it wasn't included and seemed a bit pricey.
Ideal location for my visit to offices further North on Leopold Strasse with trams for transport. Close to Underground station to take you into centre or Munich if required.

This hotel was very clean, mostly comfortable, and located across the street from tram/short walk to U Bahn - very easy to get in and out of the city center. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. Also plenty of places to eat within a short walk. Some street noise in the evenings (we were on the street side) and the bed was a little firm, but we're pretty good sleepers, so neither really bothered us. The rooms aren't huge, but we weren't looking to spend a lot of time there. We were visiting friends in the neighborhood and recommended it to them if they had other visitors in town. We would stay there again.

We had our last night in Munich booked here and was very much looked after. We were given the biggest room in the hotel at no extra cost which was a lovely surprise. The room was over 2 floors so that there was a living area on one floor and the bed on a floor above with a skylight window. Very clean room and the hotel is in a great location in Schwabing which is perfect for restaurants and bars and of course Englisch Garden. Definitely recommend this.

Hotel is a typical 'small' European city hotel - but very adequate. Got a single room and it was a little snug - but not unlike several other German hotels I alga e stayed at. Room was clean and very nice staff. Hotel is close to the subway and a 15 min walk to the English garden. Lots of shops 5 ~10 min walk south and places to eat. Great breakfast and nice outside area also where you can eat.

We had a fine stay. We booked the room last minute, after 7pm, and every other hotel in the area was more expensive and didn't include wifi. When we arrived the person at the reception was waiting for us and welcomed us in English. Everyone in the staff that we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. The room was small, but clean and comfortable, a great value for the money. The hotel is a walking distance to the English Garden and to Muenchner Freiheit, where there are many restaurants, bars and cafes. Breakfast, although not included in the price, was plentiful and tasty. Free wifi worked. We would stay there again.

Great Hotel in Munich Schwabing

This hotel is very well situated in a upscale, upbeat, and fun area in Munich. Very good restaurants, shops, and bars nearby. The hotel is clean, well kept, and the rooms are fairly large for a European hotel. Decent shower and tub in my room. One complaint is the 16 Euro breakfast. Although it is a nice buffet, this price is way out of line. In some cases, it is included in the price, which is fine, but in my case it was an adder. Good staff, English speaking, and very helpful and polite.

Good base for a visit to Munich

This hotel is small and the staff are helpful. The location is great for public transport or walking into Munich and the local area has good shops/cafes etc. The rooms were simple but very clean and comfortable. The small garden was pleasant to sit in. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. As a place to stay while exploring the city of Munich it was perfect.
