Convenient to subway to easily take you anywhere in town. Very nice staff. A special shout out to Andreas, who was very helpful providing information/easy directions regarding restaurants within walking distance. He also would contact the locations to make sure they would accommodate our large group of 8 and have table waiting when we arrived!

It was an okay, older hotel. We only booked it for Oktoberfest so we would be away from the city center but have transportation options. The room didn’t have AC but luckily we could open windows. It was fine for our needs.

The only thing that spoiled our stay, was a large (and noisy) group of visitors to the Darts competition taking place over the Easter weekend. The poor Receptionist had a hard time with them. There also a large group of American teenagers on a school trip, and they too were very noisy in the bar area; we had to ask their teachers to intervene (they were sitting there saying nothing!).

Well-located for airport bus, avoid parking.

The hotel is very-well located for the Airport Bus which stops almost opposite on the way to the centre of München; the U-bahn station is only 200m or so away, so is very convenient.

The room we stayed in was clean & tidy, the staff were friendly & helpful and we did not avail of the offered breakfast.

Parking is available for 13,5€ per day on-site in an underground parking area, but there is parking on-street for 6€, so it may be worth checking that our first, especially if only parking for the overnight period.

We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others - note that the hotel is across the road from a large cemetery if that has any bearing in your thoughts!

Where to begin? Does anything in the hotel actually WORK?

Check-In: first words: the A/C is broken. Waiting a part FOR A WEEK. No fans available. \"Management won't allow it.

I booked this hotel the day before I arrived. A simple phone call to say the A/C was not working would have gone far. I would have brought my own fan.

\"Free Parking\"???? My butt. Parking is available on the street, but it is not free. But wait, there's a parking garage for 11 Euro a night.

Lastly, the \"system\" to create door keys was down. Needed to be escorted to my room by a staff member.

Ice: \"ice machine is broken\". Really? No A/C, no fans, no ice. Upside: the female staff was amazing. Male staff: arrogant & condescending.

Room: \"In the interest of the no A/C\", I was given an West-facing room, \"to cut down on the sun coming into the room in the MORNING\". The correct thing to do would have been to given an EAST-facing room. That way, the afternoon sun will be from the east, not the west, when it is the hottest.

First time to Munich

Overall this was a very good hotel at a great price. Our room was small but functional and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We received just two towels total, which was only slightly inconvenient. Only complaint is that the water in the shower was slow to drain, which could be managed by using water conservatively. The location was great for the price. We utilized the nearby Aldi and U-bahn stations, but there were also nearby restaurants and the older part of Munich is within walking distance. Englisher Garden is just a few blocks away. It was challenging for us as first time visitors to find parking, and once we did we left our car in the spot for the duration of our stay and didn’t miss it at all.

Perfect location for Allianz Arena!

The hotel was perfectly located for us... we were able to jump on the U Bahn and get to Allianz Arena for a game.... and the next morning we were on the right side of town to drive to the Airport without problem.

While it wasn't \"fancy\", it provided everything we needed, including Air Conditioning. And we were delighted to find a box of fresh apples in the lobby.

Great location for travel connections

Basic but clean and with friendly staff. On the down side a lot of items were off the menu when I decided to eat in on the first night. But breakfast was fine with a lot of choice (albeit mostly cold) and included in the price. The location is fantastic as it is right next to the Lufthansa stop for the airport bus and only about 100m from the Nordfriedhof U-Bahn, which makes getting to the MOC or city centre very easy. Will stay there again.

Parking Is Not Free!

One reason I booked this hotel was that I expected free parking. When I checked in, I was told that there was free parking on the street if I could find a spot. While the statement was absolutely true, they should just be up front and indicate that the free parking is on the street and that to park on premises, there is a garage for 10 Euro per night. In their favor, the staff was friendly and the restaurant food was very tasty.

The room was extremely small. Uncomfortable for two people. The parking garage was incredibly small. Good luck if you have a big car, because it would be extremely difficult to maneuver through the garage.Not a lot of amenities. No gym.

Perfect for a short trip

The hotel is in a good location, easy walk to the U-Bahn, convenient to get to city center. The rooms are very clean, modern/minimalistic and compact. Great breakfast buffet, very nice service. The parking garage for an extra fee is a bit tight and has a steep entry but feels safe. Street parking in München is a challenge.
There was construction going on next door but unless the window in our room was open, there was no noise from the busy street or construction. We selected this hotel because it offered air conditioning but it was not working and the room was warm. We stayed four nights. Overall a good experience.

We booked the Ibis Hotel Muenchen City Nord just few days before to attend the Oktoberfest 2017 and hence paid higher than normal rates. The location is great ! We took the Airport bus to Nordfriedhoff Train Station and is just under 5 mins walk to the hotel. To get to the city was easy and convenient too as we took the train from Nordfriedhoff to City center locations and to Station Theresienwiese which was just beside the Oktoberfest 2017 location. The hotel reception staff especially Mr. Odonis was great and very helpful. The hotel offers basic amenities and is neat with clean rooms and has a bar. We stayed 3 nights and but used the hotel minimal since we were out the whole day. Our only disappointment was that it was a bit warm during the night and we could not lower the temperature when asked why we were told that the room aircond auto set based on the weather outside.

For our purposes, this was well-situated and a good hotel. Its functional and the breakfast, tho the same every morning, more than suffices. We had bicycles, so a quick ride into the center of the city was as simple as could be. About the same distance to the Olympia Park and BMW Welt. There's an REWE (grocery) store not far \"around the corner.\" And in that REWE mall there's a meat counter that serves up hot meals (small selection) that are excellent!
Great service at the IBIS: polite, courteous and helpful. English is very good. Our room was tiny, but it served what we wanted: A place to sleep with breakfast for a reasonable price. Wifi was spotty in the room, but OK. Clean place. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. If you want more space and pizzazz, this probably isn't for you.

Great Place to Stay!

This is a really nice hotel! It's about a 4 minute walk to a subway station and very close to the main sightseeing area.

My check in/check out were both quick and the service at the hotel was great. The room wasn't too small and had a nice view of the courtyard next door, and was always clean when i'd come back in the evenings.

If you're looking for a cheap, well located hotel in Munich, then I'd recommend this one for you!

Perfect hotel before a flight from Munich airport

I stayed at this hotel on July 27, 2017. When I arrived it was cold and raining outside. The man at the front desk, Andonis, was absolutely delightful. He carried my bag to my room because the elevator was not working. After I freshened up, Andonis gave me directions so I could go explore the area. He also saw me trying to take a picture of myself out in front of the hotel and came out and offered to do it for me. When I returned from my 3 hour walk in the rain, he made sure I was comfortable and assisted me with my meal and drink order. This man alone made my hotel stay well worth it. He is a true example of what customer service should be and I was fortunate that we crossed paths. He is an asset to this property.

Quick stay in Munich. Hotel was conveniently located, near a UBhan station and about 20 minutes walk to area with restaurants, etc. Quiet neighbourhood; I felt safe walking at night. Hotel self-parking was 10 euros a night, breakfast not included (but you can just pop over to the cafe next door for a cheaper bite in the morning). Room was clean. Could have used a couple more towels (they provide 2 big towels for 2 people). Wasn't keen on the smell of the liquid soap provided for shower and hand washing.

Hotel Ibis Nord is a clean hotel on an U-Bahn line that gets you to city center in minutes. It has nice size rooms and the staff were helpful. The wifi also worked well. The price was somewhat high for the hotel but it was during Oktoberfest. The breakfast was a nice mix between continental and hot.

Great hotel in munich with convenient location. TAKE THE TRAIN to the hotel as the cab ride is 30 euro. The U-line is right outside the train station and get off at the nord stop. Lufthansa has a bus that goes right past the hotel to and from airport for 10euro. That said, the metro gives it convenient location because for young couple not much around hotel itself. Still, we enjoyed ourself and with a short commute into city center, bar downstairs, and responsive service I highly recomend!

Bad follow up with compaint

Only one room was provided to us on arrival. We had to pay extra to get one bigger room that fits in 4 people. I spoke twice with Hotel.com for a refund. My reference # is 108083733
I was promised to hear from via Email you in the next 72 hours. What is going on with hotel.com???
Please do your job and follow up. Besides a messed up day in Munich I spend 2 hours talking to your people with no result. This is very frustrating.

Clean but don't expect too much

The hotel is located only one block away of the Nordfriedhof Station U6 line, but finding the hotel was a bit complicated because there are no signs to lead you there. Personnel were nice and corteous but totally confused and overwhelmed by the number of guests they had and simply didn't know how to deal with them. The hotel clerk wanted at all costs to have our passports (we came from Austria) and didn't want to take the European ID, claiming that the reservation was done through the German website for expedia (which we didn't use) and he made a complete issue out of it to my husband who had no nerve to discuss the matter and was forced to sign the bill stating our foreign citizenship... Nobody in the EU is forced to carry a passport within the Schengen area, but apparently this person is not even aware of the floor where he is walking.
The hotel has a supposedly 24-hour food service which - only works until 11pm. After this hour, although nice and respectful, the personnel in charge refused to serve anything because the service was over. Our room was too hot and the fan was not working. At times there was only one person had to serve the at least 15 persons who were coming back and forth at the reception, so it made all also slow.

Hard beds in Munich

This was our third hotel on a European honeymoon get away. The hotel lobby is very nice and clean. The staff was very kind and they have a 15 minute problem resolution policy. We never used the policy but it is nice to know one exists. The room itself was small but functional. It lacked a mini fridge or a safe, which was slightly disappointing. The bed was not very soft but the majority of the beds we had in this trip were that way. So, I cannot say if this is just how things are or if we just happened to get unlucky a lot.The hotel is well out side the tourist zone so I assume it is mainly a business hotel. While it is outside the tourist zone there is a U-Bahn station within 3 minutes walk. This is a station for the U-6 line which will take you right to the heart of the tourist zone in 6 stops.

Overall a good stay but things could have been better.

A great place to stay. It's really close to the rail system (S-Bahn), so a car is not needed. The rooms aren't overly huge, but functional. The hotel is very clean, the staff friendly. We had some drinks at the bar and really enjoyed our stay.

Good hotel. Neat and clean.

Our first visit to Germany. And we don't speak German. We took train from airport. We could locate the place easily.
The hotel staff was cooperative and gave us a check in at 9 am instead of 3 PM as per our request, without any extra charge.
Also on our way back to the airport we got an airport shuttle from luftansa just across the hotel. That saved a lot of time and money. Overall a good experience.

Ok hotel near airport bus and subway station

Good: The closeness to the Munich airport bus (Lufthansa bus) drop off and pick up stations and the subway station (Nordfriedhof, I believe...) makes this place an ideal place for transportation purposes. No need to take a taxi from this hotel. Staff were friendly. Bar had an ok selection for late night relaxation.

Bad: I did not find the beds particularly comfortable. Rooms are pretty small. They are tight for 2 people and impossible for 3. But then this may simply be because you are in Europe!

Conclusion: An ok place if your standars and expections are not too high.

Fine hotel, don't expect too much

I stayed there for 5 nights. The hotel was OK. The room was fine in size for a single person, perhaps a bit small for two. The non-smoking room was clean although I slept on the first night in a smoking room, which was an unpleasant experience. I asked later to change my room. The location is very good, as it is very close to the u-bahn station and there is a direct bus to the airport in 5 min. walking distance. The neighborhood is very quiet.

No frills - just the basic

Very small but comfortable room - we had some issues getting checked in - there were multiple reservations for us, even though hotels.com only showed one - and the staff was highly confused about what to do. But it did get sorted out after some time. The rooms have double doors to keep the hallway noise down, which was nice. Bakery next door opens early on the weekend and has full breakfast if you want to save some $$. (Hotel breakfast is 10 Euros p.p.) Close to U6 - easy to get around the city from here.

Out of the main bussle of the city centre but with a U bahn station 50 yds away ideal sited for the short trip in to Marionplatz. Easy to find and a good underground carpark. The hotel was clean and tidy as were the rooms. The staff ewere efficient and helpful.

Ibis Muenchen City Nord- clean and comfortable

Hotel was very clean which is a number one must for us. It was a few stops away from city central. We were there during Oktoberfest so being away from the centre was ideal since it was a bit quieter.

The room was small compared to North American rooms, but for us, this was not an issue since we only used the hotel to sleep in.

I would definitely stay there again. Note 1: Not sure if this is the hotel's fault or hotels.ca's fault but when we checked out, the hotel asked for payment even though we paid via hotel.ca. Luckily, we had our payment confirmation with us from hotel.ca so we showed it to the hotel and they took a photocopy of it. Note 2: if you are getting there by train, use the orthodox church exit as this is the exit closest to the hotel.

It is hard to find a reasonable stay in Munich at anytime of the year, especially during the Oktoberfest season. Taking that in to consideration this hotel is located in an outpost of Munich which offers very little to the guest. The hotel is under-maintained and over priced for value. The upside of staying at this hotel is that it conveniently located between two U-bahn (metro) stations and is right across the street from the Lufthansa Munich airport bus shuttle service stop; which takes you to the airport within 20-30 minutes for a reasonable fare.

Great Hotel for the Price

I was surprised by the quality of the hotel at this price! The hotel is located one block from the U-Bahn and One block from the Lufthansa airport bus shuttle stop. And the best part...it's located next to a great bakery.

Quarto abafado.

Razoável. Ar condicionado não refrigera - só funciona a ventilação, que desliga do nada e deixa o quarto super abafado. Não adianta reclamar - o atendente tem até uma amostra do controle do ar condicionado na gaveta da recepção para explicar para os hóspedes como regular, mas não resolve nada.

Der Empfang könnte etwas freundlicher sein. Die Lage des Hotels ist super, da es in der Nähe des Bahnhofs liegt. Das Kartenlesegerät scheint die Schlüsselkarte nicht gut lesen zu können, da ich es 5 Mal versuchen musste, um in das Zimmer zu kommen.
