The room was very clean, except the kettle... there was material inside. Also would have been nice to have exrra bedding in the room. I was MOST disappointed that the gym was not on site. We arrived and only then found out that there was no gym in the hotel, but the fitness center nearby. We'd prefer to not have to travel for this.

Bathroom smelled like piss. Was not cleaned well. Shower head broken. Housekeeper barged into our room even when we had the “do not disturb” sign on the door handle. Scared the heck out of us.
Barkeeper was the only good aspect of the stay.

Im giving this a bad review due to the poor hospitality. Workers were rude and had this snarky attitude towards us when asking for any accommodation. Nothing special, pillows were flat, just one for each of us. When I requested additional pillows the works scoffed and gave a little laugh and said no when I asked for more than 1.
I was super happy when we left the hotel.

The room was relatively nice and modern, but the lobby and elevators weren't great and show their age. The TV had a relative large selection of channels.
The internet connection was stable but slow. There was also no ventilation in the bathroom and the shower water temperature kept fluctuating. The lighting in the room was also very poor, with just two small bedend lamps and a small light in the doorway for the entire room. The Expedia property details also mention that guest have have access to a nearby gym, but when I asked the reception they said there's no gym.

I stayed at The Rilano for 2 nights for a work trip. The hotel staff were friendly and informative. Certain parts of the hotel looked like they were being renovated, but nothing was closed, or unclean. There was a lack of signage to point me to the room. The WiFi on my floor was unreliable, but fine down in the lobby and restaurant. The room was compact, but had everything I needed. The bed was fine, but it was two single mattresses pushed together and I did feel myself slip down between them at one point.

Could Improve Overall

I don’t want to leave a whining and whinging review so I’ll just explain my experience as a matter of fact.

I arrived late in the evening to check in. The queue was long with only one member of staff available to facilitate check-in. I was initially given a room that wasn’t even cleaned. It was left dirty after the previous guest.

I went back to reception and rejoined the long queue. I was then given a new room which initially looked better. I later realised the towels were stained, the bath soap dispenser was empty, and the coffee kettle wasn’t working. The coffee cups were also stained so I chose not to use them.

I went to the hotel restaurant the next morning and requested a coffee, politely saying that the kettle in the room wasn’t working. This request was met with resistance. I was offered a coffee in the end, but it seemed more like I was being done a favour.

All told, I feel the hotel could improve on many levels around attention to detail, cleanliness, politeness, and organisation.

My room had a very nice view from the window though. That was good I must add.

This is not a 4 star hotel… it’s barely a 3 star hotel… the cleaning team are trying to do their best but overall the facilities and the rooms are dated and old. The carpets are filthy in the rooms and there are cobwebs everywhere. A lot of dust on the lampshades and headboard.

I want all of my Rilano hotel cost refunded. This hotel was included/marked with Air Conditioning filter.
There was no A/C and we did not sleep for 2 nights because the room was very hot. We stayed for 2 nights from August 16 in room 917. The hotel was not able to give us a room with A/C. Sleeping accomodation is the number 1 priority for a hotel to offer, especially for VIP guests

The property was in a good location with supermarkets nearby. You can easily reach the public transportation. The room was comfortable except the beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable for our taste. The pillows were also very uncomfortable. The parking in the parking garage was safe and plentiful. We would stay again in this hotel when the opportunity rises.

We chose this hotel because there were none available closer to central Munich during Oktoberfest. It turned out to be a great location, as it was quiet, close to public transport, and walkable to restaurants and grocery stores. The room was good, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice. We stayed two nights and would again if we’re back in Munich.

double for three people?

Confusing. Hotels.com booking was for three people, upon check-in we were given a double bed and a puzzled look as to why three adults can't in fact sleep in a double bed. Intresting. I asked to have three separate beds and was told we will need to pay £30 more...per day. Well...not too happy. The room was good, comfy bed and a good location to transport links and restaurants/shops.

Friendly staff. The hotel looked and felt more like a 3 stars+ than 4 stars. The superior room has a very small shower space, and the curtains were of very average quality. I was disappointed with the breakfast: nothing was homemade, the quality of the eggs, bread, or pastries was very low. We appreciated the bar being open until late and with a great barman! I wouldn't go there for leisure, business is fine - the hotel is far from the center of the town and is a bit impersonal in its decoration.

Rilano 3 days for business

Very friendly hotel. Unfortunately, when I got to my room after check-in I found that the phone wasn’t working and there was no desk chair. On going back to reception they gave me a new room straightaway. That was really the only negative. I’d recommend the Rilano for business in the area. It’s mainly offices around it. However, there’s Alte Heidt U-bahn station about 10mins walk away, and the 23 tram about 5 mins walk away, both which will take you to the centre of Munich in about 10-15 mins. Taxis are plentiful. Good value for money.

Check in staff was condescending and unprofessional. Immediately made me regret my decision to book this hotel. The room was forgettable and bland. At one point, after returning from dinner, a locked fire door blocked access to my room. When I told front desk staff, they didn't believe me until we showed him a picture of the door blocking the entire hallway.

The one cool thing here is a robot on wheels that will deliver snacks to your room. It says a lot that the most professional staff member is a robot.

Avoid at all costs, waste of money.

We came for 1 night, we ordered a suite, when we did check in, we got the key, enter to the room. and it was regular room.
I came back to the reception and they told me \"we are overbooked and we are very sorry we dont have suite for you\" we can give you the diffrence money from regular room to suite.

we asked on email to get a baby bed and got confirmation from hotel, we got the baby bed only 6 hours after check in, the reception guy told me \"sorry we forgot it\"

A friend and I were able to check in somewhat early but the only room available was a handicapped room. It was clean & spacious, especially the bathroom. The only thing is that with a handicapped room there isn’t a seperate shower. The bathroom is one huge room. It wasn’t an issue but it just doesn’t allow for privacy.
The hotel is close to various bus stops, has a cafe connected to it and is very close to the ‘center’.

Check in was a nightmare. Not sure if this was down to Hotels.com cobfirming the wrong type of room but they had me down for a double when I needed a twin. The attitude of the staff when I insisted on a twin was very poor and it took them an age to try to get the beds separated. In fact, the staff member I tried to check in with said it is two singles pushed together, this is the same as a twin.Check in is late anyway but they over ran the 3 oclock timing they claim and in the end gave me another room. The service isn't good though. Hotel is very nice and clean with good facilities but the check in is a real problem.

I was attending a show at MOC for the weekend of March 3-4. On the recommendation from a friend I decided to book the place from Canada. It is not next door to MOC but was the closest I could find. For the price I paid, it was way beyond my expectations. There a shopping place behind the hotel for basic grocerie. The bus number 50 takes you to the train station and with one connection you can be on another U train to the airport or the center town. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean.

We have all just returned form Munich after being out there for the Oktoberfest. Myself and 7 others stayed at the Rilano and all left feeling happy and relaxed! The hotel is ideally situated close to the U-Bahn, a shopping precinct and the Englischer Garden. The U-Bahn will take you in to Munich Marienplatz in a matter of minutes! The hotel is clean, well presented and the receptionists are happy and friendly at all times. Nothing is too much for them and we were all happy with the service we got from the hotel. If you are going to eat in the restaurant situated next to the lobby then I recommend the fillet steak with a large Bitburger beer, its cooked to perfection!! Will be staying there again next year and more than likely for many years after hopefully! Many thanks for a great time!!!!!

This is a hotel of apparently high standing with some flaws, which at this price class should not occur. To start, the otherwise excellent breakfast buffet was not available on my first of 4 mornings, yet I was charged the same rate of Euro 19 and had this cancelled only after protest. On my last night, the hot shower I looked forward to was rather cold. I guess the boiler system could not cope with a nearly full hotel. The shower cubicle drainage is inadequate and water ran under the door to flood the bathroom floor. Used up tea bags from the in-room drinks tray were only replaced after a reminder to the room staff. As a single traveller, I enjoy reading during my dinner, yet in the dark restaurant, this impossible without straining the eyes. A request to staff to up the light was met with \"no can do\". The restaurant was poor quality and over-priced, even for Munich. The location was sold on the web as being in Schwabing. Although strictly still part of this Munich suburb, this is stretching the claim somewhat and most Munich people would not regard Domagkstrasse as Schwabing. It is way out of the city and requires a 30 minute bus / subway ride to the centre. On the plus side, the staff were overall very friendly, the breakfast - when fully available - was excellent and the sleep quality very good as the area is very quiet. My room was clean and functional.

Highly recommended hotel for business

I needed a hotel with easy access to the MOC. This hotel was only a short walk (about 7mins) from the U-Bahn station Alte Heide - two stops from the stop for the MOC centre. The proximity to the U-bahn also made it easy to get into the city centre. The hotel itself is excellent - cannot fault it. I was worried about wifi after reading some negative reviews; but I needn't have been - we borrowed a router which gave us excellent wifi in our room. The staff are wonderful; everyone is very friendly and cheerful. The room was a generous size (I had a superior twin). It was very clean and comfy. The hotel has been recently refurbished to a high standard. I stayed here for 4 nights and I was actually sad to leave!

Nice hotel in Munich business area

My wife and I stayed one night, for the first day of Oktoberfest. We had no problem finding the hotel (but please note there are TWO Rilano hotels in the city). It is a nice quiet location outside of the main city area, but close to public transport - it took 5-10 mins to get to the city by tram. The public transport in Munich is very good.

The room itself was exceptional, very spacious, with free drinks on arrival and a full complement of extras including tea and coffee service, hair dryer, toiletries etc. The bed was extremely comfortable also.

Breakfast wasn't included, and at €20 pp it seemed a little expensive to us. We ate down the road at a cheaper cafe.

The staff spoke English well, but the young man we checked in with seemed very strange. I assumed he may have had a beverage or two at lunch to celebrate Oktoberfest. No issues but was a little uncomfortable for us.

In summary - great rooms, great service, staff were generally friendly and helpful.

The room I had booked (4*) had been 'overbooked' so they put me up in a 3*budget hotel that was adjacent. It had no airconditioning and as it was summer it was really hard to sleep.

The staff were apologetic and gave me a cold beer and free breakfast but i'd have gladly had neither and had my 4* room but unfortunately that was not an option.

I had a really important business meeting the next day but i felt tired and wish I had not stayed at the Rilano.

Oh and there was not TV or WIFI working either. :-(

Nice hotel, in a quiet area of Munich. This is a business district, but there is a small shopping mall next to it with a couple of supermarkets, a drug store and a couple of take away food outlets. There is a basic beer garden opposite, but the drinks are cheap. It is around a 15 minute walk to the nearest U-Bahn station which takes you to Marienplatz. The aircon actually works well in the room (37 deg C outside at the time), all the mod cons including a few complimentary drinks in the bar fridge, will stay again.

A 5-star 3-star hotel

I don't want to give the impression that the Rilano is a luxury property, because it isn't. Price and location wise, it's a fairly standard business hotel with a nice bar and restaurant onsite.

That said, this makes any of the Marriott Courtyards and Hilton Garden Inns in the States look like roadside motor lodges.

The property was recently renovated, and rooms in the 5-story tower were excellent. Clean, spacious and comfortable with tasteful, modern furniture. Bathrooms were also first rate, with excellent water pressure, and plenty of hot water. No tub, but not a big deal in my book.

The on site restaurant was very reasonable for dinner, and the quality of the food was quite good. It's Germany, so you're still out 20-30 Euro for a decent entree, but that's to be expected most places.

All in all, a wonderful experience, and far better than I would have expected for similar money in North America. Highly recommended.

My gf and I arrived Munchen main station and tool almost 1 hr to the hotel !

I was satisfied with my stay at Hotel Rilano. I wanted to be near Olympia Park so this location met my needs. The service and breakfast arrangements were good. Shower was somewhat cramped but that was about it. If staying in the business district area I would recommend this location to stay.

nice boutique hotel. Love it!

This is a really nice hotel, only 10 minutes' walk from the U station. Grocery store is next door. Staff are very informational. It would have been much better had the internet been available in-room and included in the room rate.

Good business hotel in Northern Burbs..

A nice hotel, but a little remote. There's a bus right outside to BMW Engineering, but otherwise it's a hike to the U bahn.
Breakfast is awesome, but it is 18 Euros.

Great place to stay if on business or pleasure. A little outside of the nightlife area but overall a fantastic hotel which we would use again should it be required. Great service for 23 gents on a weekend away!!

For those who needs just a shower and a bed

Rather far from the center, it was hard to find it when we first arrived to the city.
Terrible internet connection - if you need it DO NOT choose this hotel.
Bathroom is not very comfortable - the shower is very small and cramped and there is always some kind of small pool near the sink, even if you just washed your hands.

Though it still has nice rooms with very good beds and it's very quiet.
