This retreat is so beautiful and peaceful. We are a family of 5 and it was perfect for our anniversary getaway with our kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The grounds are very quiet and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time visiting and first time staying overnight, and we'll plan to come back soon. On-site restaurant and bar, The Peak, is definitely worth the visit.

Very beautiful place. The grounds are spectacular. Our \"room\" was actually a cabin so no wall connections with other guests. As such it was really spacious. The only issue I'd say is the bed was a bit soft. I have back issues and had some pain after a night on the bed. Would also be nice to have breakfast options. But I'd stay there again in a second. Nicest place I've found in Idylwild.

From check-in to departing the entire hotel staff set a tone of welcoming and joy, the cabin, the restaurant, the pool, the pickle ball courts were all absolutely beautiful, in perfect condition. The grounds are so well done, everything feels so natural and so well cared for and respected.
We will definitely make this a regular get away.

It’s our 2nd time since last December. Everything maintained pretty good! Front desk staff are always helpful and friendly, their texting system allow you to know the process of checking in and out in a proficiency way. Lucky we are at the same room as we did last time. We truly enjoy the fireplace, back yard, and spacious living room for our Father’s Day weekend! Thank you & will recommend to stay at this place when you visit the town!

Our stay here definitely exceeded our expectations! The property itself is beautiful and every detail lets you find something new to look at every time you walk around. My kids loved the pool, swings, pickleball courts and game room. We loved the live music at the restaurant and the whole feel of the place. The views are also amazing! We plan on coming back to bring the whole family.

This property and setting are amazing!!!! You could definitely be at an expensive hotel but it’s very affordable! That said the rooms and porch’s are pretty basic and The Peak restaurant really lacks in ambience but the food was great. Patios at the restaurant are nice. But I’ll be back for sure! Landscape was a 10!

The property/room itself was okay. We had a room in the last building in the back, on the second floor, middle, and though it felt cramped, we managed just fine with two dogs and two guests. It wasn't anything special. A bit noisy at night when we could hear the kids next door and even the next morning when they were right out our balcony. The other lodges seemed better with more privacy, space and quieter, so just keep that in mind when selecting rooms.

Also, lots of foxtails in the ground/grass in the back that could be cleaned up, given that they allow dogs. Overall, okay stay.

Bring your own pillow unless you like hard ones! We loved the outdoor areas, and especially the patio assigned to our room. It was nestled among the trees and we listened to the squirrels, blue jays, and woodpeckers while we had our evening wine and morning coffee. The room had nice decor but there was no comfortable place to sit, no luggage rack, and there was a very narrow walkway to the bathroom. We would come back but would be better prepared.

Comfortable beds and good tvs. The room was clean but dated. Bathroom fans were so loud I didn’t even turn them on. The rooms aren’t sound proof so I could hear people snoring at night and a toddler above me that woke up screaming every morning at 7am. It’s fine for the price.

Top-notch all around; everything was clean , updated or remodeled. Very nice place to stay, and we will be back again. Enjoyed the musicians at the restaurant along with the food and service. a couple minor things like temperature in our cabin and bed pillows, but that's us—a good value and close to town if you need to go there for something.
We enjoyed our stay and two thumbs up.

We had an amazing time there was a lot of things/activities to do, keep the kids busy and away from their phones. Very clean, friendy staff and I love that's it's pet friendly. It's really a nice place to relax if you want some quiet time away from the city. My only concerns were the bunk beds (top) does not have railings which is not safe for kids and I believe they're offering like a day pass or open for people whose not staying in the property to get access of all the amenities so it gets really crowded specially during weekends/holidays. Overall all we had fun definitely coming back.

We stayed a three bedroom two bath cabin. It had a huge living room and dining room table. It also features a front and a back patio. The master bathroom had a tub and a separate walk in shower. This was a perfect size for groups. Kitchen has no stove or oven, but it does have a 3/4 refrigerator with freezer, microwave, drip coffee maker, cups, bowls, and silverware.
We ate dinner at the restaurant and there was live music on Thursday.

great place to bring pets - poolside cabin with decks helped a lo t for little dog. Cabin showers are def too small for larger guests but overall cabin was very nicely stocked, clean and very comfortable. Very nice walking paths and the Peaks restaurant (yummy!) is awesome. Vey much loved this place (we live in Ranch Mirage) will DEFINATELY stay here again soon. Pool was very clean, could be heated/warmed a bit more after chilly May nights. Awesome fire pits! -- overall scene vibe was a BIG thumbs up. Will only stay here in Idyllwyld - no place can compare.

The property is always very clean and updated with several unique amenities, like a basketball court, a playground, and an area you can kick a soccer ball around. Parking is never a problem. I can’t speak to the bar or restaurant, as they were too busy to help me. I tried to try them out on this visit, but it was Memorial Day weekend, and they didn’t seem to have enough staff. My only concern about my stay is that their bedding is becoming worn and uncomfortable. The beds are starting to sag, and the pillows that once used to be king pillows are now small lumps the size of a child’s pillow shoved in a king pillowcase. I remember when they were comfortable. They just need updating. They’re at the end of their life.

I spent a single night at this resort so that I could get an early start on a hike to Tahquitz Peak. I didn't have high expectations for accommodations in a small town like Idyllwild so I was pleasantly surprised by the Tahquitz Pines Retreat. The rooms were comfortable and the campus was well laid out. I especially enjoyed the restaurant and bar onsite which had really good food and a surprisingly large menu. Should I come back to the area, I would stay here again.

What a great recently renovated resort tucked away in the pine trees just a short drive to town. With the on-site restaurant/bar, large pool, and outdoor sports facilities you really don't need to leave the property. There are several different room types from hotel-style rooms to cabins. Check it out -- you won't be disappointed.

I’m in love with this place theirs is so much to do. Nice place to visit hang with the family. We went on a marriage retreat. It was close to town. Never a dull moment the rooms are clean, and the sheets were stain free. The restaurant was amazing. Their burgers are to die for. The parking is great. The Front Desk staff was awesome. We got there right before 8 o’clock. The only thing that could be better is the Wi-Fi but then again you don’t need it when you should be enjoying your family.

If you're seeking peace and quiet, would recommend staying in the standalone cabins as the hotel rooms have paper-thin walls and you can hear neighbors snoring, etc...Hotel staff was wonderful, but I had an awkward and uncomfortable experience at the Peak Restaurant. It was about 4pm when I walked in. The blonde bartender who was super loud and had an attitude grudgingly showed me to a table. She then went in the back to inform my waitress, and I heard a woman yell \"Does that mean we can't close early!\" right within earshot of my table. I mentioned it to her when she came to take my order, and she said \"oh, its been slow so we were going to close but that's OK I'll serve you.\" Next thing you know all these people show up for dinner and it gets super busy. As restaurants tend to do. Super unprofessional. But that's just the restaurant. Food was awful too, wilted old lettuce in the sald. Will def go off site to eat next time.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help, especially when we had questions about our pet. The only minor downside was that our dog is used to sleeping on the bed with us, and pets aren’t allowed on the furniture. However, the staff kindly provided a pet blanket, and she ended up sleeping comfortably on it, so it worked out just fine.
The amenities were a lot of fun! we especially enjoyed the basketball court. We also dined at the Peak restaurant, and the food was excellent!
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely recommend this place. 10/10!

This place is GORGEOUS! We stayed in cabin 24. It was quiet, beautiful, spacious, and wonderful decor. Added bonus - separate heat in the bathroom. I rarely do this, but I even used and loved the body wash in the shower - great fragrance. The room had a comfy bed and sofa. There was a small table with chairs, small fridge, and microwave plus coffeemaker. The porch even had a seating area with a privacy wall. FYI - to get in our cabin, we had to walk up like 5 stairs to get on porch. Staff was very friendly and informative. We went to The Peak for a meal which was walking distance. Staff and bartender was just as friendly. I have to come back for a longer stay!
