Room functional and clean if small. Found the lighting insufficient but maybe it’s my eyes. Staff friendly, but very young, as one would expect from a place that has individual rooms as well as hostel beds in shared rooms. The place is bright and funky, which works for me. If you like exposed plywood, quirky wall paintings, games, and a popcorn machine, this could be the place for you. The breakfast was excellent: fresh bread and croissants, a choice of juices and cold cuts, granola and yogurt and fresh fruit (And one day there was bacon! Bliss.) The price was right, but this is low season. There’s a gym across the street as well as a nearby tram stop that takes you across the river to the UNESCO downtown in mere minutes. For a hike, walk to the WW2 German U BOAT pens, which now house art installations, in the opposite direction, as I did. It’s a half hour. Your TBM pass - I bought a 10 ticket one - is good on the river boats, an excellent way to get a different view of the city.

Liked the location of the hotel and wanted to stay later in the week when i was coming back to the city, booked a room directly on Eklo’s site received a confirmation, however, 24 hours later received an email informing me that my booking was cancelled without any explanation why which was very dissapointing and stressful as had to look for another hotel quickly. Don’t think will stay there again, price was good but the rooms feel like prison cells and there is no aircon. Breakfast was Good though.

Never go here in summer. Or ever actially.

Ive never stayed in a place so hot. It was 39c in bordeaux that day to be fair, but we arrived at 2.30am and it was significantly cooler outside than the room. There is no airconditioning. This is due to it being an eco friendly hotel. There is a poster in the lobby listing all the things that make them eco friendly. They have solar panels and grow vegetables etc. There was no mention of the fact they dont have aircon or sell water. Didnt mention on the listing online either. Probably because if that was on their poster or online listing then nobody would stay there. Despite our late arrival i briefly had a look online to see if we could find somewhere else and just forego the money. It was too difficult with two kids so instead we stayed. There were showers at 4am and 5am and my wife nearly had a panic attack at one point. I went to reception and asked for fans but they had run out. In 30 years of travelling to places like bangkok, tanzania and texas ive never been less comfortable in the heat. Fail.

Also our room was at the end of a long balcony with about 20 other rooms. With their window open AND THEIR WINDOW WAS OPEN you could actually see their bed. A weird place that felt like a prison.

After reading reviews, we wondered if we had made a mistake, however we didn't, it was 45 min tram direct from airport and then 12 minute walk to main centre. Lovely restaurant and basic bar. Clean bedroom with nice comfy beds and large shower. Room was a bit dark but comfy. Ideal location and felt safe. I would stay here again

The staff was lovely and tried their best. The hotel has limited rooms with AC. Yet, on expedia it says AC as an amenity. We had a room for 8 and the heat was unbearable. We were given 2 fans but it was hard to sleep. It was around $125 a night so half of us left and paid another room in another hotel. The other half asked for a smaller room with ac. The hotel gave it at no additional charge which we were grateful for. It was a very hotel summer and with no Ac or ceiling fans it was not suitable for small kids. Yet, the hotel understood and really helped us out. Thank.you Eklo

The room (in principle for two) is unusually small. The bathroom had no soap at the sink and cups/glasses (yes, one can get them after asking at the reception, but why should one need to ask?).
My room was next to a service area where some kind of a machinery kept on operating all night long. Not too noisy, but audible and not good for light sleepers.
Food and drink is fine, the hotel is 5 min walk from the tram station and also 15 min walk from the Darwin Eco area, which is good.

Room was very small but it was clean. There was very little natural light and it was difficult to keep the shutter on the window open as it meant everyone could see into your room. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy. The food in the restaurant was good and the bar was good too. Overall it was very reasonable for the price but it’s not that comfortable for a long stay.

We stayed at the hotel during a one night stay in Bordeaux, the reception staff were friendly. We booked a family room which was a good size and had a double room and bunk beds. The room was really clean and perfect for our short stay. It’s about 4min walk from the nearest tram stop so it was easy to get to.

Amazing value for money

amazing value for money, handily located to the tram and buses, also an easy walk to the river front. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. I don't think I'd like to stay here for a week as the rooms, unsurprisingly, are on the small side, but it's fine for 2 or 3 nights.

I love that the hotel has an ecofriendly initiative, but in June, with the temperature going 29C, it’s very difficult to sleep without air conditioning. It’s very hot, and humid. I appreciate the staff giving us a fan to try and stay cool for the night, but my husband and I still kept waking up all sweaty. The area around the property are mostly under construction, as I assumed, so there is a lot of dust around. There aren’t a lot of dining options as well, but close enough to the city center anyway.

The staff are very lovely though, and very accomodating.

Room was small but good for what we paid for it was clean and had everything we needed. Only issues was the tap leaked a bit and the bathroom wall was super thin. It was also too warm on a night with no air conditioning remote. However it was a great place to stay could come and go as we pleased with kind staff.

I have travelled all over the world and this dump , trumps everything. I'm certain there are bigger prison cells then these \"rooms\" no more then 8ft by 8ft in size. The 1 tiny window has no blind or curtains so for privacy, you have to roll down a steel shutter, which makes room have no light at all. God help anyone staying here if it is warm. Didn't have breakfadt , has i could only see bread and eggs and no fresh coffee or juice. Cheaper to eat in a local bakery and definitely nicer food. Had 1 pint of rotten lager here and cost 7.50e , definitely the most expensive beer in Bordeaux . No where to leave bags for few hours and if you want late check out, you have to ask in advance . ABSOLUTELY UNDER CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD I STAY HERE

Kamer is eenvoudig en was prima voor één nachtje. Alleen zeer warm in de kamer dan is alleen een ventilator voor verkoeling niet voldoende. Het was erg benauwd. Badkamer erg nat als je hebt gedoucht. Douchewand tussen douche toilet kan dit voorkomen. Internet werkte prima en snel.

Les chambres basique sont juste horrible un lit dans 5 mettre carrer très bruyant , les voisins passe devant votre porte et seul fenêtre , avec une vue sur la chambre et donc vous .
Pas de climatisation donc 35 degrés dans la chambre. En plein Bordeaux et rien pour se garer donc prévoir deux budgets si vous venez en voiture .
Ensuite les alentours que des travaux très bruyants également.
Bref même pour 1 nuits ne prenez pas leur cagibi.

Adecuado cuando la temperatura no sea elevada

Buena relación calidad precio, sin embargo no existe climatizacion. En la habitación existe un ventilador de torre, el cual si hace más de 25 grados en la calle es insuficiente.

Hemos tenido que dejar la puerta por la noche abierta una hora para poder estar dentro. Sudores y fatiga constante dormir con tanto calor.

Per essere un ostello direi che non c'era proprio servizi di aggregazione per gli ospiti, la hall era praticamente deserta a volte e potrebbe essere sfruttata molto meglio. Nella hall inoltre c'era un costante odore di cucina, principalmente aceto. La sera si facevano incontri strani all'ascensore: una sera un gentilissimo senzatetto, una sera un ubriaco che chiedeva un accendino. La stanza è molto piccola, non sapevo dove mettere le valigie. Al mattino parte la ventola del condotto dell'aria che fa tanto rumore. Ovviamente nessun cambio asciugamani in 4 giorni e viene fornito solo quello per la doccia, non quello per le mani. Esperienza discreta ma migliorabile con poco.

Kaiken kaikkiaan ihan hyvä kokemus. Huone oli tosi pieni. Meidän oli hankala löytää paikka mihin ison matkalaukun saa auki, mutta onnistuttiin pitämään sitä pöydällä. Huone oli siisti, mutta sitä ei käyty siivoomassa/petaamassa, mutta olimme toki vain 3 yötä, joten se ei haitannut. Sijainti oli näppärästi lähellä junapysäkkiä, josta keskustaan meni n. 5min. Kävellenkään ei olisi ollut pitkä matka. Läheltä löytyy iso ruokakauppa, mutta ruokailupaikkoja/kahviloita aika vähän. Hostellilta saa ruokaa, mutta sitä ei tullu testattua. Laukut sai jättää säilöön check-outin jälkeen päiväksi 5e hintaan, joka oli mielestämme kohtuullinen hinta.

Les chambres étaient un peu trop petites (50 cm d'espace entre le lit et le mur), la porte anti-feu, très lourde, était difficile à garder ouverte pour changer d'air. Espaces communs (notamment bar/restaurant à l'entrée) très beaux et soignés, par contre le fait de n'avoir ni de savon ni de verre pour la brosse à dents dans les toilettes de sa propre chambre, même en prenant en compte la vocation écologique de la structure, était peu comprehensible et un poil decevant. Le chantier autour de l'hotel et les panneaux presque absents rendaient un peu compliquée d'identifier la structure.
