Big thanks to the reception staff, they were very friendly and happy to help. The staff during the breakfast was worse, noone to ask for refill the food, the tables weren’t clean with desinfiction after use..
The room for 3 was very large as I didnt expext due to my experience in Paris. Also very clean, beds comfy.
I appreciated the refill bottle for the room, very good idea!

The experience was lovely. Check in was quick and easy, front desk staff were friendly and good at their job. Beds were big! I also liked the fun high fashion theme.

My only criticism is that the bathroom does not have enough circulation, leading to minor mold growth in the corners of the shower. Many bathrooms have this and it's usually harmless, but fixing this or being more proactive in cleaning it will make everything perfect.

The room was a typical, small, Paris hotel room, but the overall standard of the hotel was not in line with other Mercure hotels. Breakfast, in particular, was especially disappointing, hidden away in the basement and with a very limited selection of average quality food. Location of the hotel is good if you need to be in the Place d'Italie area, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again otherwise.

Could be better for the money.

On arrival we found the lady on reception very friendly.
We left our bags while we waited in the room to be available.
Was disappointed with the facilities in the room.
Limited channels on the tv, only two English speaking.
Only one chair.
The air on didn’t work.
The biggest disappointments were that there was no milk supplied to make use of the sparse tea making items. There was nowhere to hang anything in the small bathroom other than one small hook on the door. When travelling with more than one of you, this is very annoying.
The most dangerous thing was the shower was extremely slippy underfoot. We did ask at reception for a rubber mat but were told they don’t have any.
My Mum is unsteady on her feet so this was a major problem which meant we had to use the floor mat inside the shower to make it safe.
On a plus point, the breakfast was plentiful.
The reception staff were all nice.
The rooms was quiet and the location good.

Mercure Hotels are one of our favourite chains. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, the beds are comfortable and the breakfasts are always good quality. The two things I would mention is that both regular milk and non-dairy bottles were filled and refilled without cleaning, so were both sour and the coffee wasn't great quality. It's in a great neighbourhood with lots of amenities and 3 Metro lines.

I booked this hotel because I took a tour to the Normandy D-Day beaches which started just across the street. So I went there for totally functional purposes, and it was fine. My first room had poor air conditioning. No problem. They moved me to another room, and I had a great night's sleep. Both rooms were clean and the showers were great. This is a perfectly fine hotel in a nice part of town. No issues!!

The staff at this hotel was excellent. My friend and I enjoyed the neighborhood and found many great shops and restaurants nearby. We appreciated staying a little outside the busy center of the city, but close to a major metro station. Our room was quiet and clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Poor facilities and the fire alarm went off twice in one night. The first time it went off, we were woke up by the alarm sounding. We quickly ran downstairs to be informed “not to worry” about it and to go back up to our room. This was at around 22:00. Then, at 05:30 the next morning the same thing happened again. This woke us up when we were going to have a rest before we do some sightseeing and then fly home the next day. Extremely disappointed with this.

I loved the location. The fact that I had a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance was a lovely surpise. Ayoka was a wonderful ambassador for the hotel, very sweet and helpful. My only gripe at all was the fact that I could never quite get the room cool enough at night for a good sleep. The breakfast was superb, but again the breakfast room was very hot. I took to dressing lightweight and then changing before heading out. The metro is only down the block, so that also is quite convenient.

You can do much better in Paris than this

Mercure Paris - a small room, stylish but impractical. No hooks or rods in bathroom and limited counter space. Beds were very uncomfortable.
The staff had attitude, and when we were mugged right in front of the hotel displayed not only indifferance, but hostility. This hardly improves foreign views of the French as haughty and uncaring!
Water was only provided the first day. Did we not pay the same amount every day? This is simply NOT acceptable.
This was the beginning of a seven week trip thru Europe, and it did not set a very good tone. This was one of the worst hotels we stayed in.

Great place for a weekend break

The hotel is a great hotel which is close to the Metro (good links into Paris centre) and has plenty of resturants and bars nearby.. Our room was spotlessly clean and a reasonable size (for Paris hotels).
The staff were very welcoming and freindly and the breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food.

I wish they would have: 1. Brought us an iron that was requested 2 separate days of the 6 days we were there! 2. Replaced the water bottle they gave on the first day 3. Cleaned the shower tiles and floor a bit more. I could see the dirt between the tiles and on the floor. Beyond those things, it was clean overall and great experience! The staff were very nice and helpful as well!

The location is good cause you have a metro station very close and there’s facilities for buses all around. When we arrived the boy has trouble finding the reservation but was because even that I made it on my husband name Hotels.com decided to put under my name. We had two issues with the hotel in general one was the weird smell in the hall toward our bedroom and the other was the lack of variety in the breakfast that we decided not to have everyday there instead walk to someplace near and have more options. And the last is that maybe the standards for stars is different in Europe because according to us this is not a 4 star hotel it could be 3 at must.

I have to take my hat off to the team at this hotel, especially the Hotel Manager, Anna. I made them aware before arrival that we were going to celebrate my sister's 21st birthday and, my God, they really went out of their way to make sure the birthday really was special.

The rooms were fantastic and so was the breakfast. Only issue I had was that a false fire alarm went off one morning but we were due to wake up at that time anyways. Also there was a lack of irons in the hotel but that didn't bother us too much.

Left feeling a bit disappointed!

My husband & I booked a trip to Paris for our 1st wedding anniversary. I emailed the hotel & asked if we could get a room upgrade. I was told our room was upgraded to one with a view of the Eiffel Tower. This was not the case when we checked in. We were actually given someone else's room (Miss Noor celebrating her 21st b'day). When we advised the reception staff he just brushed it off with a sorry & didn't offer to put us in the correct room. For the rest of the time that we were there they kept mistaking me for Miss Noor which got a bit annoying after the 5th time. There wasn't any effort to make our stay special, not even a simple note to say happy anniversary. I believe little touches like that can make a difference to your stay. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food. The room was clean & comfortable but in the bathroom the overhead shower was awful. Luckily there was a separate handheld showerhead so we used this. Some parts of the hotel could do with a bit of updating. The hotel is situated in a good location with 2 metro stations close by. There's a really nice restaurant called Etchegorry near by (10min walk). The confit duck is delicious!! There's also Chez Gladines a short walk away. This is a local hang out. Food here is quite good too. There's a bakery called Lorette Gourmet Bakery near the hotel. The pastries here are gorgeous and so cheap. We got breakfast here everyday. We had a brilliant time in Paris but left disappointed with the hotel!

Great location ... but for the smell :-(

The hotel is in a great location at Place d'Italie, near metro, cafés, shopping, etc. The rooms are reasonably large by Paris standards and the bed was very comfortable. Sadly, there is a serious problem with the ventilation system: about once every hour, the air coming out of the AC vent smells like the city sewers. The whiff lasts a few minutes, long enough to wake you up in the middle of the night. The air intake pipe must be on top of a sewer vent? The staff were surprised to learn about my complaint (sure ...) and immediately offered another room on a lower level. The smell was slightly less intense, but still woke me up ...
One more thing ... the fire alarm went off every morning, six days in a row. I was told not to worry ... probably the toaster in the breakfast room or a guest smoking. But how would I know if there was an actual fire?
Disappointed.

My room on floor 3 was quite shabby - carpets tired, bathrooms old with ingrained wear. It is a hotel with cramped lobby space; no restaurant. It didn't meet my idea of what a Mercure should be, that is a bit up market. That said when the lift stopped I did see that other floors didn't look so shabby and had new carpets. Breakfast was ample but the coffee was capsule coffee. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Nice Hotel in convenient Location

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Paris. It is a nice location with outdoor markets three days a week right outside the doors. Easy access to metro. Nice, modern decor. The beds were very comfortable. The only issue we had was that every once in a while over the five days we were there there was a strong odor of septic in the room. I have no idea if it was from outside or if the plumbing is not correct, it just smell pretty bad a few times a day. Otherwise, we love the hotel!

My room had an odd smell tonit and I noticed this right when I walked in. Also, my bed ended up being two twin beds pushed together. The room and bathroom was clean and the hotel staff was very kind. The air conditioning was an important feature in the summer in paris.

Lots of Pros with only 2 Cons

Pros: Very modern, chic boutique décor, bed was comfortable, 24 hour room service (i didn't use), great location, meters away from the metro. Metro is on the same block, multiple restaurants to try (French, Italian, American burger place, French bakery), Modern shower or tub (I switched rooms) . Rain shower head. ALL STAFF WAS GREAT!! Geoffrey offered his croissant to me as I was leaving for the airport (I'm pregnant and hungry, lol).

Cons: sits on a busy boulevard. Paris is a city that is alive at night , so prepare for some noise. but not too bad if you have on the TV. I switched to a courtyard view room.. No street noise at all.
Hotel itself can be noisy. The hotel halls ECHOS noise! House keepers vacuums banging in the halls, linen carts, banging, doors banging closed. people walking, and my favorite...the couple having intimate relations across the hall. Every sound she made , soooo uncomfortable.
You don't hear customers above, just in the halls at 7am- to noon.

I might stay here again. The cleanliness and modern rooms might be worth a lil noise. Ill think of it as a wakeup call! :-)

Good location. Near to two metro stations. Lots of food within walking distance. However, I found it too close to the main road thus making it very noisy. Could also smell the exhaust fumes from the vehicles on the streets. Closing the windows help keep the noise / fumes out but as the AC was shut off during autumn / winter season, thus closing the windows make the room very stuffy. The safe wasn't working either. Breakfast was not impressive....I would suggest forgoing it and getting bread / pastries from the patisseries nearby.

The location and service of Hotel was great. There are lots of restaurants and also a shopping center in the neighbourhood. The metro station is in a distance of 3 minute walk, and major tourist attractions are easily accessible. The only thing I didn't like is the noise from surroundings.

ROOM STUFFY AND SMELLY

THE ROOMS AND HALL ON THE FIRST FLOOR ARE NOT COOL AND THE SMELL OF THE KITCHEN AND OTHER SMELLS LINGER IN THE HALLWAY.

THE AIR FLOWS FROM THE AC BUT NOT COOLING PROPERLY AND ONE CAN SEE THE ACCUMULATION OF DIRT IN THE DUCTS.

MY ROOM WAS CLEAN AND QUIET AND THE BED WAS COMFORTABLE. BREAKFAST IS NOT WORTH 16 EUROS THAT WAS BEING CHARGED.
OUTSIDE THE HOTEL IS A MARKET (TUES, FRIDAY, SUNDAY MORNINGS) WHICH IS VERY NICE EXCEPT FOR THE SMELL OF FISH.

We were greeted friendly staff who were very helpful and spoke good English. The room was nice, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was a little dated but still clean and functional. The only issue was that the advertisement said free off-site parking, this was not the case. As the front desk assistant said, \"there is no such thing as free parking in Paris\". He was right. Everything else was excellent.

This the worst location or hotel I've stayed in Paris. It's should be more like a 1 star hotel not 4. I picked it for free parking, when I checked in was told I have to pay for parking. The hotel is behind farmers market not good if you are looking for a good nite rest.

great access to all atractions

A little out of the centre of Paris but easily accessible via tube and has a number of good local bistro restaurants at place d Italie, all which are priced very reasonably.

Would recommend for younger travellers who do not mind jumping on and of the tube to get to the attractions.

Great friendly staff and the rooms on all floors were immaculate as we travelling with a number of friends staying on various floor levels, level 5 has a great view of the Eifel tower especially at night.

Would love to return. fab stay!

From the moment we entered this warm and inviting Mercure hotel for our winter Anniversary, we experienced extremely cordial, fast and attentive service from the excellent staff. Particularly the Reception and breakfast staff went above and beyond our expectations in friendly assistance and extremely prompt attention to both our spoken and unspoken wishes and needs. Good value and convenient

I was attending a conference at the Marriott Rive Gauche, and this hotel is about 10 mins walk away. Easy access from the RER B, in just over one hour and for only 10 Euro you're at the hotel. Much cheaper than the Marriott. Rooms are comfortable and clean, internet access is good. As long as you're OK with a little walk its simply wasteful to stay at the Marriott.

Perfect stopover hotel

Great place. Easy to find on a main, but relatively peaceful road, and with a short walk to the Metro.
Car park is in a road opposite the hotel and is secure. Note that the car park closes at 12pm on Saturdays until Monday morning, but the hotel provide an access key.
Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Beds (we had a twin room) were large and so comfortable.
Great powerful shower (over the bath) with plenty of hot water.
Staff very helpful.
Didn't use the facilities, but there is a small bar area and lounge.
Great cafés near by if you don't want breakfast in the hotel.
Perfect spot for a weekend of shopping and site seeing. Felt very safe walking back to the hotel from the Metro late at night.

The location was very good. Within the city, close to Subway station. Many restaurants and Bars in the area.

The hotel and rooms are very average. Small and outdated but clean. We spend very little time in the room/hotel, and where mainly looking for a clean place with good location to explore the city, and this fit the bill

The hotel located near metro 5,6,7, which is very convenient. The farmer's market in the front of the hotel is a fun place to see and visit. One may feel living like locals. The hotel all in all, including room size, service, cleanliness, facilities, is up to European 4* rating.

Great hotel

There were eight of us and the hotel was wonderful. Clean and spacious. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. They accommodated our tons of luggage and our early 4:00am departure. The buffet was very good also. All in all a wonderful experience for us.

Good location for south paris meetings, they refurbished a lot of rooms, simple but nice looking. Special mention to those memory foam pillows they are fantastic !

Under construction

The hotel staff were extremely friendly. The room was nice, small and clean. We enjoyed the door that opened to the outside street and that it was close to cafés and the train. However, we were not told when booking it was under construction. We were not told at check in either. There was a note posted saying the 6th floor was under construction. No problem we thought since we are on the 3rd floor. Upon arriving to our room we were greeted with a \"wet paint sign\" and the smell of fresh paint. Bright red paint all over the trim and door frame. Every morning we woke to workers outside our door talking and working. One morning they were literally sanding our door as we tried to sleep. Terrible and quite shady to not let us know.

Perfect location. Close to Metro.

Staff was very helpful. Great location. Easy walk to Metro. Believe the warnings about pick pockets!!!!!!!! Don't leave your billfold in your back pocket. Otherwise, mostly wonderful trip!

A lovely hotel for a break

Very we'll positioned, 200m from the Metro, with easy access to all main attractions. Very helpful staff, posted back an item we had left there! No restaurant, but many in the area.

Great location that is a short subway ride out

Comfortable, plush bedding in a well appointed spotless room. We were provided a free upgrade for one of our rooms and had a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower. Metro a block away.

Good bakery just down the street!

Stayed for a few nights in May 2013 as part of a Europe tour. Room was smaller than an American hotel, but on the large side for a Paris hotel. Bedroom was clean, fridge was useful, staff were friendly, location was good... But the building needs some renovations. I did not make any complaints to the hotel staff however: there was some water damage in the bathroom, grout was missing, and light bulb was hanging by the wire. I still felt safe and the bedroom was clean, and I got a good deal on hotels.com.
