I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The property was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and well-maintained. The view was absolutely stunning and made the experience even more memorable.

A special thank you to Devon, our butler, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His exceptional service truly elevated our experience.

The drinks were also fantastic, with great quality and variety. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

They have roaches… It’s not completely infested but I saw 3 roaches during my five night stay. The rooms were slightly outdated but if they get those roaches under control this resort would get a better review. The food was decent. The entertainment was great. The layout of the property was great. It’s a well balanced all inclusive resort. Ownership should invest in renovations and pest control. Then it would be at least a 9/10

I stayed at Jiao Iberostar for a week to celebrate my sister's birthday during our first trip to Jamaica. The location itself is beautiful .The pools, beach, and variety of activities on the resort kept us entertained throughout the stay.
Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the staff, especially some of the female staff members. We experienced rude behavior and felt racially profiled during our stay. It was very noticeable that white guests were treated with more respect, received quicker service, and were given far more attention than we were. What made this even more disappointing is that I have previously stayed at Iberostar in Mexico, where the experience was absolutely breathtaking. The staff there treated us like queens
everyone was friendly, kind, welcoming, and always willing to go above and beyond. Because of that experience, I expected the same level of hospitality in Jamaica, which is why I chose this resort in the first place.
It's truly a shame to feel racially profiled by our own people while trying to enjoy a special family vacation. During checkout, a member of the guest services team asked us to leave a review of the property, and we agreed. She then asked to see my phone so she could show me where to leave the review, but instead she began writing a 5-star review herself. She said, “I want to make sure you review us.” That’s when I told her our stay had not been great at all. That made me question how many of the 5-star reviews were writen by staff

The staff are very friendly but the resort is no where near a five star. The food was terrible, low quality, processed and poorly made. The room was tired and old. We did find out they are closing in June for major renovations so that’s a good thing. The positives were the pool area, the private beach and the Jamaican smiles from all the staff. The entertainment was a hit, three really good shows and a fabulous female singer in the lobby area. I don’t think we would go back. I wish them the best with the renovation project it’s very much needed and please concentrate on quality of food not quantity.

The property is about to close down on June 1 for much needed renovations. Probably should not be open at this stage. We just stayed between May 9-16 and roof work had already started which woke us early each morning with the noise. The carpets smell strongly of wet dog probably from flooding after the 2025 hurricane. For the amount we paid to stay, it was highly disappointing and we requested to cut the trip short for partial refund which was not approved. We’ve stayed at many Iberostars and have loved them. This was by far the least impressive experience. Very disappointing.

Staff are very nice but can only do so much with the facility as it is. Lobby bartenders were spotty with service.

I had an absolutely amazing birthday stay at JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar! From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional and the entire resort exceeded my expectations.

The property was beautifully maintained, spotless, and truly felt like a luxury escape. Every area of the resort—from the pools to the restaurants to the beach—was clean, relaxing, and well cared for. The all-inclusive experience was worth every moment, with delicious food, great drinks, and plenty of options throughout the day.

What really made this trip unforgettable was the staff. The entertainment and amenities team were absolutely top tier—friendly, energetic, professional, and genuinely focused on making sure guests had a great time. They created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere that made celebrating my birthday even more special.

If you’re looking for a relaxing adults-only getaway with beautiful scenery, excellent service, and amazing vibes, I highly recommend JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar. I left refreshed, celebrated, and already planning my next trip back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This property is outstanding. No big crowds, lots of personal attention. Beach was very clean and not covered in seaweed. The property has a historic feel to it, very classic. Do not go here if you are looking for an ultra modern architecture experience. Nor should you go here if your looking for a party vibe. Very relaxing quiet redort with outstanding service. There is a butler waiting for you nearly everytime you leave your room! Restaurants are great too.

Tried to cancel the trip after the hurricane and hotel originally said they would and then changed their mind . We came expecting it to be damaged and lower standards and for a $10,000 holiday I wasn’t impressed.

Hotel smells horrendously of mold and our rooms were so full of mold we got chest infections. Confirmed by my doctor when I got home. Could see mold in the air con vents (photos taken).

Staff were unfriendly . Asking the bartender at the pool bar for a bob Marley and she rolled her eyes . I asked if there was a drink she would prefer I order instead as the first drink is layered and she told me the name of another drink that was easier to make . And no she wasn’t swamped at the time and yes I tipped well every time.

I will never ever visit again. I go to the Joia in Mexico quite often and it’s way nicer, it doesn’t even compare . I couldn’t wait to go home .

Food was mediocre . We expected that post hurricane . I really wish we would have been able to cancel considering. And now it’s closing for 6 months … clearly because it needs work .

Terrible vacation . What a disapppintment .

Save yourself and go to the joia in Mexico , you won’t be disappointed .

We love this resort! It was our second visit and it is like coming home! The staff is hospitality at the top tier!! So welcoming and friendly! Our butlers were amazing. They kept us updated on the events of the day, which restaurants were available and wanted to do what was needed for us to relax and enjoy.

The food at Joia was delicious and good variety. Our lunch favorite is Port Maria, good breakfast buffet and also room service breakfast. Our favorites for dinner were Toscana (Italian) and the Greek over in Selection.

We will definitely be back as soon as possible.

This was our 7th stay at iberostars in jamaica. 8th overall. My past reviews have all been 5 star. This was not. We understand they are recovering from a major hurricane but downgrading us from a king to 2 queens(felt like we were sharing a full all week) is not my idea of a romantic getaway. Our king room ac was not funtional (sheets were damp, room smelled like mildew). We tried havimg them change sheets and fix ac. This did not work. Finally Barrington(thank god for him) got us into a dry room(although small beds).

If you advertise you are fully operational and you take our hard earned money(we save all year for this) we expect to get what we paid for.

We may try another Iberostar in the future but it probably wont be the grand in jamaica

We had a great time at JOIA Iberostar. Room was beautiful and clean. Outside pool area was relaxing, there are three different pool sections and there is Sunbum tanning lotion available by the pool towel shed. The food at the resort was delicious, we enjoyed the buffet, Galleon restaurant and the Italian restaurant. No reservations needed for restaurants, however there is always a waitlist, 45min to an hour wait. Shout out to Omar for serving us during breakfast and lunch buffet. While everything else was exceptional, Drinks could have been better. We were pretty disappointed that for a five star resort the quality of the drinks were a letdown. All frozen drinks tasted the same, mojitos and margaritas didn’t hit the mark either. We’re not big drinkers, but vacation is that special time when you want to sit back, sip something delicious, and catch a little buzz. Thank you Moesha for serving us by the pool.

This was a lovely resort! We will definitely go back for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly and the food at the buffet was delicious. We had ocean view room and the view was amazing. Really liked the vibe and quietness of the resort with it being all adults. Only issue is that some people smoke outside near the pool bar and that ruins the mood. The beach is beautiful and well maintained, and there was plenty of seating. And the drinks were excellent! All of the bartenders were amazing and every drink was strong.

Drinks were full strength I know sometimes people think it’s watered down. Good music. Entertainment. I wish I would have known about the app before hand so I could explore amenities and menus prior. Overall great vacation nice people. We Avoid signing up for the timeshare schpeel, they might offer you free stuff in lieu of your time to hear about timeshare.

The room was beautiful, with butler service that was super nice. We did not like most of the food, too oily, too greasy, felt like a mass production, no taste, swimming in sauces. The drinks were so so, they did not have any mint the entire 5 days we were there to make drinks. Most drinks were too sweet. Very often they ran out of wine, they ran out of food as well, 3 days they ran out of smoked salmon in the morning, in the afternoons, they ran out of lamb chops at lunch. They also did not have dinner buffet at our hotel most evenings, we had to go to the sister resort for dinner buffet. It really did not feel like a 5 star resort. We spend a lot of money and were very disappointed. We were there for New Year's Eve and it did not feel festive or holiday vibes like some other resorts we have stayed at for the holidays. Decorations were minimal. Will not return and would not recommend to anyone. We visited a store there and purchased few items that I had a very difficult time returning. The store stated that they have no refund policy, that was not listed anywhere in the store. Very sad and fraudulent. Eventually they honored the return after we got the managers involved.

So many wonderful things about this resort. Check-in was quick and seamless, we arrived before our check-in time, we were given wrist bands to enjoy the resort until our room was ready. They have a change room if you need it. Everything was clean and fresh. Activities were plentiful whenever you needed them. Staff was quick to help. Food was always stocked and you never had to wait for than a few minutes for anything, if you had to wait. The only disappointment was the specialty restaurants, you never knew if there was going to be a 2 hour wait or you could go in immediately. This made dinner plans difficult. Japanese food was good. French and Italian were not good (my opinion). Surf and Turf was just ok. The best bet is going to the buffet. Food is always stocked and tastes delicious! I would recommend his resort every single time. A winner for any vacation you plan.

Beautiful property but we had to rush and scramble to find shelter after the hurricane came and we couldn’t get better accommodation than 25% which still put us at over $400 a night and the airport is closed for the next 4 days. We were with a party of 35 people and feel because it was an act of nature, we could have gotten a better deal so that we could have shelled in place. $1600-1800 is a lot to pay after we already paid over $4000

Good experience at this resort. The food options were good except for the buffet. The food offered pool side, the steak, and hibachi restaurants, the day of the beach barbecue was delicious (especially the beach barbecue and at the Jamaican restaurant off the beach. Room service was even delicious! The staff were very helpful and accommodating! They made for me celebrating my birthday with my family a very memorable occasion.
Pros: Food options, the drinks alcohol/ non-alcohol were good, beach is clean, has plenty of chairs, beds and umbrellas. Entertainment was good.
Staff accommodating and very nice. Views from resort are beautiful. Our daughter had a pool view that was beautiful and we had an ocean front that was also beautiful.
Cons: Our initial ocean front room was on the 4th floor where the balcony doesn’t have a roof that completely covers it. It’s the rainy season so it was hard to enjoy the balcony due to the furniture being wet. However, the resort did accommodate us and moved us to the 3rd floor where the balcony was covered and we were able to enjoy the balcony. We truly appreciated that!
The snacks in the room are not individually wrapped and are in reusable containers that are refilled.
I am all for preservation for the eco system by not having excessive waste, however, I am curious how often and how these containers are cleaned and filled. Sterilized reusable water bottles are given for you to drink. Bring your own water bottle to fill at watering stations.

5 years ago this hotel was stunning! We felt like celebrities. It’s still a nice hotel but has lost its wow factor. The rooms need a refresh and the beach has way too many sea weeds.
The service, food and entertainment is still good. The Staff is A1, always attentive and aim to please.

I would not consider this 5 star. Although the property is beautiful, clean, well maintained grounds and staff is amazing, the food needs work. Quality of the good is very inconsistent. Some days it's excellent, some days overcooked, and that goes for all restaurants and room service.

Not a big fan of how the pressure you into meeting with their representatives to try to talk you into their Interstate membership (basically like a time share presentations). Our concierge guilted us into saying yes for accepting the presentation and was dishonest on the whole process which was supposed to take place, once we found out the truth on the presentation we backed out at the last minute.

This really left a part of our overall experience disappointing.

Overall the best all inclusive I’ve been to. By far the best food options and restaurants, A+, drinks were good as well. We went during their offseason and we think the entertainment wasn’t as great for that reason. Other reviews said the entertainment was excellent. The beds were very firm. My group of 6 all complained about the rock hard beds. Not to nit pick, but thats really the only real negative we encountered. This is a resort my group of 6 said we would all come back to.

I didn't like that it was old and you could tell. The staff was great though. There weren't many activities which was a shame. I also didn't like that there was a lot of construction, one elevator was down the whole time and one of the days, both elevators were down so we had to use stairs and our room was on the top floor. Also a shame that their restaurants fill out so fast, hard to get in. Their french restaurant didn't have the lamb rack which is my favorite dish, another shame. They need more sweets/cakes too, those options were very limited.

This resort has both good and bad sides. The property itself is beautiful – the pools are amazing, the beach is nice (though not the best), and the restaurants serve good food.

However, the service was very disappointing and absolutely not what you expect from a 5-star resort. Only about 15–20% of the staff were attentive and polite; the majority were slow, unhelpful, and sometimes outright rude, even when asking for something basic like water. Service in the restaurants, bars, and buffet was extremely slow. One restaurant requires reservations, but in the others, we waited up to an hour just to be seated. Even at breakfast, we had to wait to be seated, and the hostess was often missing from her station.

Another big issue is that they don’t provide bottled water or straws anywhere on the property. For a luxury resort, this is unacceptable.

Housekeeping and room service were also very poor. Our room was not clean upon arrival, and throughout our stay service remained slow and unfriendly. The steakhouse was the worst experience – the hostess (Tasha) and her manager were unprofessional. Despite having a confirmed reservation from the feedback department, we were told we didn’t have one and were placed on a waiting list. This felt dishonest and was by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a resort.

This was our second stay this year. We didn’t hesitate to go back. At check-in, Donnae remembered us and even gave us an upgraded room. After checking us in, she walked us to our room making us feel welcome and completely at home. Then, of course, we made our way down to the pool bar where Shevaughn and Travis remembered us as well. Those two really know how to make a good time as well as being prompt with service. I highly recommend this resort. We may very well go a third time before the year’s end.

Si buscas un lugar tranquilo quizás pueda ser este lo que buscar, lo mantienen en buenas condiciones pero hay cosas que necesitan ser resaltadas para quien pueda servirle.
Tome una habitación con butler para hacer que mi estancia fuera más cómoda eran muy amables pero realmente el trabajo lo tenía que hacer yo, la comida fue espectacular en cada uno de los restaurantes pero hasta para esperar un vaso de agua era agobiante en la mayoría de las ocasiones, hay muchas cosas que perfeccionar no lo llamaría un hotel 5 estrellas para que otros clientes no crean que pagan por algo de ese nivel

Staff was generally excellent and place was very clean. Was definitely one of the smaller resorts I’ve been to so we were limited in activities and food options but our stay was shorter so not the biggest concern. Things were great until our second to last day when maintenance thought it would be a good idea to spray paint the room right next door to us with no notice while we were in our swim out pool and clouds of spray paint was coming right out at us even though they seen us out there before they even started. Made it worse is that we had one of those connecting room doors and fumes just poured into the room. Room was full of heavy paint fumes for rest of our stay. We asked for a room swap and was not accommodated even though there was plenty of vacancy. We had to stuff the bottom of the doors with wet towels and leave the balcony door open with the fans running to make it remotely tolerable but that meant sacrificing a/c. Needless to say last night was horrible! Super poor planning when we were leaving next day and that work couldve be done upon our check out. I also was not crazy about the constant harassment from the local drug dealers everytime I stepped on the beach. I can even respect the first solicitation but once I tell you no I expect to be left alone. I can understand that I’m in a different part of the world and maybe this is not a big dealover there but most resorts do a better job controlling the beach with that sort of stuff and this place didn’t even try.

This property is maintained immaculately. The staff are pleasant, professional, and go above and beyond to help you celebrate whatever special day you are having. I was amazed at the anniversary surprise that I received. This is my second time in the last two years of staying at this very same hotel and I will definitely be back a third time. The staff are so welcoming, the food is delicious and the property is well maintained. Kudos to you all for doing such an excellent job!
