The room was nothing like de photos! It smelled like mold, the walls were dirty, the towels smelled like bleech. Everytime we showered the whole bathroom floaded. Everything in the room was old and tacky. I’m really disappointed cuz I’ve trusted the pictures.
Reception was pretty and the room did not follow the pattern. Also the location is not good, really far from everything.

We chose this hotel because of its convenience for getting to the Gare de Lyons and in that respect, it is excellent. It is an attractive- looking building, with cheerful interiors and the room itself was very pleasant: a good size and nice and clean. The staff are most helpful and we had an excellent breakfast every morning. I would recommend this hotel.

Fantastic stay, the hotel is quite modern, the decor is very beautiful, very clean and the staff helpful.
The air conditioner could do with some more power, as it wasn’t getting the room cool enough, considering outside were 33+ degrees. It was OK, it’s just that I prefere it much cooler. And the mattress is on the firm side, which again, I found it a little difficult to have a good sleep, but the mattress seems new. Again, very clean, clean sheets, clean towels, clean facilities, quite pleased. Apart from the AC and the firmness of the mattress, everything else was excellent, I would definitely stay here again

Very average hotel. Not really 4 star.

Reasonably good location for the metro to go elsewhere. Neighbourhood a bit rough since right next to the big train station.

Hotel common areas has been interior decorated at some point, however, the rooms are a bit worn out with some holes in the walls etc.

Don't pay extra for breakfast. Take your coffee and croissant elsewhere, as the small breakfast offered is poor. Think big greasy glasses of super market marmalade where you need to use a long spoon to get down to the jam/marmelade - microwave scrambled egg from plastic bottles.

Beds were fine which is important.

Staff OK for Paris.

It was amazing ! I booked it the same evening I used it. I had a problem with another place, so it was kind of an emergency. Was a great surprise ! Warm and cosy room, enough for two people, great area for breakfasts and very well placed in town ! Right next to the train station, and you can go anywhere by walk or using some transports. Fantastic week-end, saved by this hotel. Thank you !

I was very happy with my short stay. Though my room was small, and the shower was a tight fit, it was clean and comfortable and the bathroom spotless.
I found all your staff friendly and helpful and was particularly impressed with the girl who greeted me and introduced me to the big Teddy in reception on my arrival on Friday.

Nothing like the description on hotel. Com no dressing gowns no kettle lumpy bed and pillows dirt underneath the beds no tea/coffee making facilities and paper cups for everything the bathroom was clean and else where just under the bed was dirty. But we’re helpful by moving us to wheelchair room. Very polite staff.

10min walking distance from La Gare de Lyon, Velib bike station very close, all the restaurant you want close to the hotel for a drink on the patio or eat. I strongly recommend the outdoor patio by the water canal call Chez Mylène, start your dinner around 8h00pm to watch the sunset until 10h00pm and see this magical atmosphère turning to night light! Vive Paris :) We took the taxi for CGL, it takes 45min without traffic and 65 Euro. By train it takes over 1h easy and you need to takes 3 different train.

Try this hotel, it’s a little gem

Very enjoyable stay. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bedroom (single) and bathroom were nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the air con was very welcome as the temperatures were high on my visit. My only minor things to comment on, I don’t like drinking hot drinks out of paper cups. The hotel standard is good but I think, as adults we could be trusted with real cups. Also, although there were wall lamps I found the bedroom quite dark for someone like me whose eyesight is not perfect. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend.

This hotel was perfect for my needs! I arrived tired and jet lagged and check in was a breeze. I chose this location due to its proximity to Gare de Lyon as I had a train to Nice the following morning. It was a very easy 3-4 minute walk to the train station which also had a Starbucks—very important to this American! Once I made sure I could get to the train station, I explored the area a bit. I loved Rue Cremiux—super cute picture spot and I had a lovely dinner at Le Bistro Lyonnais—highly recommend!! All in all Mercure Paris Gare de Lyon Opéra Bastille exceeded my expectations and I would have happily stayed longer than the one night I had there.

I picked this hotel from the pictures I saw online; in person was also beautiful. The only thing was its style, far from the major tourist attractions, which I had to walk a lot or take a taxi which got pricy during traffic afternoons. But overall, it was a beautiful hotel with helpful staff at any time we needed anything.

Good place to stay for a night near the gare, but I wouldn't stay here for a trip to Paris. Our bathroom had grafitti on the walls from past guests, and the general state of the room was rough. This is a utility hotel, but don't stay here for your vacation.

Good location although not great neighbourhood. Bed and pillows were fairly comfortable. Dislikes: many. Room was small with nowhere to sit. Noisy with hydraulics and mechanical noise throughout the night. Facilities poor, eg, 4 paper cups instead of glasses and cups. Poor housekeeping. Our bathroom waste bib, which was quite full, wasn’t even emptied, and the liquid soap in the bathroom ran out. I could go on. Very disappointing, especially given the prices and the alleged 4 star rating.

The hotel staff were amazing from find us a parking garage at check-in and check-out was a breeze. I wasn’t even at the desk for more than a minute. The main train station (Gare De Lyon) was less than a five min walk which made it very convenient. There are a few eateries around the hotel with even a wine bar next door. The elevator is small but the stairs are very manageable.

Had an amazing 1night stay. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was good. The room we stayed in was nice and clean. Good toiletries too - they have nuxe shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and lotion. Love love love!
The hotel is located near Gare de Lyon metro. There’s a bus stop nearby too.

We had a great stay here. The customer service was excellent, all of the staff were very helpful and kind. Antonio helped us with all of our questions and gave us many tips and great advice. The rooms were small but cute and very clean. The bathrooms were actually larger than normal and also clean. Location was perfect, a few minutes walk to Gare de Lyon. Also there were so many good cafes and restaurants nearby. Overall great stay.

This hotel is not really at Gare de Lyon and is about 10 minutes' walk away. The rooms could not be smaller. The service was alright and the breakfast was pretty good. There is another Mercure actually connected to the Gare. Make sure you book the right one.

The Bad out weighs the good.

The cleaners did a good job overall at keeping the room and common areas cleans.
We still experienced one problem after another.
There was no room service menu in the room
We ran out of soap mid shower
Ran out of toilet paper
No mini bar
No utensils in the room
And the worst for me is that they turn off the air condition in the room and control the heating for you, so you dont get to adjust it to your own personal comfort. They assume everyones comfort level is the same. Only 2 people with no luggage or with small bags can fit in the elevator at once.
There is other issues I decided not to write here but the only Good thing is The location and The Front office staff are helpful and speaks english
I would not recommend staying here
