This was a terrible hotel to stay at. My daughter and I requested two beds and we were put on the first floor. It was so loud and sounded like the Metro was right behind our room. When I asked to be moved, the staff immediately said they are fully booked at couldn’t move us. The bathroom is one of those where there’s no separation between the sink, toilet and shower so it splashes everywhere and the water didn’t drain quick enough. In my opinion this room should not be given to any paying guest! Oh and by the way, we paid over $200 for one night, way overpriced!

rooms are very cute, clean and quiet, considering proximity to GDL. Staff are very helpful and accomodating, and an extra 14E for a great breakfast is totally worth it.

However, when I booked through Expedia it was 120E per night, but if I had contacted the hotel directly it would have been 75E/night. I dont think a 45% markup is really fair. I hope you change your policy to reflect a more fair markup (15%?) and that you publish this critique.

Room was neglected, bathroom floor stank of urine and all floors were dirty. Noise from trains not mentioned but very noticeable even on top floor. Bath tap didn’t work although the shower did. Good location for train station but hotel 2 star at best.

Gem of a hotel! Comfortable, quiet, clean. Wonderful shower. I appreciated that the curtains were very opaque, made for a lovely dark room for sleeping. The owner and her husband are a lovely couple, very welcoming and helpful. So glad to find a hotel that's still family-run, there's just a warmer vibe. And the location so close to Gare de Lyon is very convenient for public transport. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is ideally located for Gare de Lyon. At the moment the outside has scaffolding but don't be put off by that.It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were courteous and helpful. There was a good continental breakfast buffet which started at 6 am which was great as we had an early train to catch. The room was charming and the bathroom clean and modern.

Very pleasant place to stay within walking distance of Gare De Lyon and metro station. Staff was very friendly and allowed us to store bags until check in time was reached. There was a bit of construction scaffolding outside of the building, but it did not take away from the stay. bedroom and bathroom were clean and provided plenty of hot water. This hotel was very expensive compared to the other places we stayed in Paris. It is close to the station but I wouldn't stay here again. The room was very outdated and the pictures didn't really reflect the actual room or lobby. There were no amenities onsite that we could find, aside from an empty vending machine.

The room was clean and functional, offering everything I needed for a short stay. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful, and made me feel very welcome. The only downside was the noise, as the hotel sits over the railway tunnels, which could be heard quite loudly at times. Overall, a pleasant enough overnight stop off if you don’t mind a bit of background rumble!

Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. We had booked a superior room. The building was completely obscured by scaffolding which meant we had difficulty finding it. We had not been informed of this. Then the view from our superior bedroom was only of scaffolding, making the room very dark. The stalk of the bedside light on one side of the bed was broken, rendering it useless, there were at least two loose tiles on the bathroom floor, making the floor unsafe, there was black hair on the wash-hand basin (neither my husband nor I have black hair!), the bedside cabinets were sloping downwards, which meant we couldn’t place a drink on them and the tea/coffee station had not be refilled. The reception staff were pleasant. However, overall it was not a good experience.

Great location. Within five minute walk from the central train station. About 45 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport. Lots of restaurant options. Very close to the metro station. Through the metro, with a day pass, you can pretty much see the whole city of Paris And all the iconic places like Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triumph, Notre Dame, Cathedral, and Secor cathedral.
Very good breakfast. Free bottled water. Excellent value for Paris!

My son and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Aurore Paris. The room was a bit small but adequate. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also a bit small, although I have definitely been in smaller. It was nice to have an elevator in the building. Breakfast was offered for purchase, and it provided a nice variety of hot and cold options. The location was perfect for us. We used the metro a lot, and since we were so close to the Gare de Lyon, we could easily travel around the city as that location is a major hub for the metro. We also enjoyed the many restaurants in the area as well. I would definitely stay here again!

I love it that the hotel provides drinking water (cold and room temp) in a dispenser. And also water boiler tea and coffee in the room.

Great location across from Gare du Lyon. Sidewalk cafés abound. Bakery and supermarket a minute away. Central location and one stop from Notre-Dame Cathedral and one stop from Accor Bercy arena. Just need some bigger bath towels otherwise great stay, superb ac.

The whole property was being renovated outside. It was covered in scaffolding. You could not open a window without the room getting covered in dust. The builders were chipping off all the render. Expedie should not selling this hotel.

The location is good, 5 mins to the M metro station. There are a few metro lines in the area. A very good bakery shop across the street. Room was clean. Shower pressure was good. Staff were nice. The biggest problem was wifi. The front desk told us that wifi was not working in any room, it was working only in the lobby.

Our stay was only for 1 night. The entrance to hotel a little confusing due to the scaffolding out the front. But didn't enjoy having to dodge what looked like vommit around the entrance.

Our room was on entry level floor. Was quite noisy from the street outside trams/trains that went underneath every 10-15mins. These trains run until midnight. This didnt bother us too much as we had just done a 26hr journey.

The wifi is terrible, would kick you out every 2mins. When spoke to front desk, they just it is working.

There was some cleaning issues. Cups in the room were so dirty it was disgusting. There was a mark on some of the bedding which lookes like a blood stain. The floors in the room and bathroom were all relative clean.

Overall given the above mentioned the stay was OK it is very close to Gare de Lyons station which was perfect for us. There is also many good places to eat as well particularly a little patisserie right across the road.

No WIFI and no one willing to help!

The hotel itself was nice, but on our initial check in we were told that the WiFi was not working and that they were working to get it fixed. We kept being told it would take 1 hour then we were told it was going to take until the evening before it would be fixed. We found out later from a different desk person that the WiFi had been not working for 20 days and they didn’t know when it would be fixed. We asked to speak to the manager of the hotel and we were told that the manager would not be in until Monday, then a different person told us that the property didn’t have a manager. No one offered to compensate us in anyway. We were very disappointed that we didn’t have WiFi for the 4 Days and 3 nights we were there. Not very honest and definitely not helpful with resolving the problem or our continued requests to speak with someone in charge. They didn’t have any intention on helping us or trying to do anything to make sure that we were happy with our stay at the hotel. Definitely call and confirm that they have functioning WiFi!!

They are currently doing construction on the building. As with many buildings in Paris it is quite old. My room was clean, but had a strong mildew smell. I couldn’t pinpoint the cause of the smell. No mold in the bathroom etc. the staff was excellent. The area has many dining options. Very close to the Gare de Lyon.

We were dismayed to find the Hotel under construction, but we appreciated the warm welcome from the staff and early checkin. We had to have breakfast at 6 am to catch our train at the nearby Gare de Lyon. The very good continental breakfast included a variety of pastries, fresh fruit, sliced ham, yogurt, cereal and many lovely cheeses. If you breakfast later there would be some hot food. We walked to Notre Damn and also took the Batobus. This location suited our needs and I recommend it to other train travellers.

Lovely welcome, friendly service. Good breakfast. Clean but the Hotel is undergoing major redevelopment. Bathroom configuration for our room was bizarre with your legs sideways under a sink when sat on it! The shower was up a step, ‘in a box’, and really only suited to shorter visitors… unfortunately I’m not of those!

The Internet was broken and the credit card machine did not work so we had to use what little cash we had to pay the bill. Tried to cancel the booking but wasn’t allowed to. There were better and cheaper hotels in the area. The room was clean but in a state of disrepair. Not possible to open the shutter on the window. Bathroom was renovated and a good size. Two light bulbs not working. Television not working on many channels. This was not a pleasant experience at all and I do not recommend this hotel.

We had a great stay at the Aurora Hotel. Two nights, we chose not to have breakfast at the hotel as there is a lovely boulengie just around the corner. The hotel was clean, our room was quite small but adequate for our needs. Staff were excellent and friendly. 5/10 minutes walk from Gare de Lyon for our onward train. There was tea and coffee available in the room and lobby as well at kettle is available in the room also. The bathroom is also small and again ok for our needs on a short stay. Towels, hairdryer and shampoo/body wash are provided in the bathroom. Our room was on the front of the hotel on the fourth floor, fairly quiet as no traffic passes right in front of the hotel. The price was good in comparison with other hotels in the area and we would stay again. Hotel reception staff also spoke good English so we were able to practice our French and they their English.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was very small and a bit noisy. Despite being on the 3rd floor we could clearly hear the trains rumbling below ground. The hotel very unimpressive from outside. Reception area is tiny and the receptionist wasn't very welcoming.
The 'superior' room (201) was tiny - not enough floorspace to open a medium case. Bed was okay, but the bathroom had a sink which leaked onto the floor, floor tiles which had lifted because of the leak, and a door which was hard to close because of the lifting floor tiles. This had clearly been happening for some time and had not been fixed. I reported it immediately, but nothing was done. Also, in the 'soundproof' rooms, you can hear every Metro train passing under the hotel. All for the rip off price of £205 for one night. It spoiled my impression of Paris.

Hôtel Aurore is an unpretentious 3-star hotel. It meets the basics well, with a lift serving all floors, and air-conditioned rooms.
About 5 minutes walk from the entrance to Gare de Lyon, finding it isn't too difficult: Rue Traversière is a short street, with Hôtel Aurore pretty much in the middle.
It's good that every floor by the lift has a water cooler, but only the one in reception is actually plugged in, to give chilled water. The plants in the trough on the outside of the hotel look as if they died through neglect a long time ago. Reception appears to be manned into the evening. Plenty of bars and bistros nearby. If you need a bed for a couple of nights in this part of Paris, you could do a lot worse. I found on Expedia that the price jumped around a lot - August 2024.

Went for the Olympics & flight got cancelled so rang the hotel to let them know I’d be a day late & not to let my room go. That was all taken care of. Good location literally 5 minutes from the Gare de Lyon station. Plenty of cafes, pubs & restaurants very close by. Staff were all very good.
