Had a terrible experience at this hotel. We arrived a bit early at 12 PM, and although the hotel wasn’t busy, the staff refused to give us our room. I understand if they’re busy, but in this case, it felt unnecessary. The worst part was during checkout — I tried to take a coffee from the machine to go, but the receptionist stopped me, insisting I return to my room to make it instead. It was humiliating and made me feel unwelcome. Overall, the staff were rude and unaccommodating. Would not recommend.

We missed our first night stay because our train from Zurich had technical problems. Although I did not get a reply from the emails I sent them to let them know of the delay, I asked that a packed breakfast be prepared for us. We were welcomed with a bag full of freshly baked delicious croissants and other pastries complete with assorted spreads, as soon as we arrived at past 11:00 am the next morning. We wanted to finish all but we were in a hurry to leave for our lunch reservation. It was a gesture that made our not-so-good-train journey a little bit brighter. Thank you to the hotel staff at the reception and at the dining area. This is our second time at Timhotel in Paris at different locations, never got disappointed at all in both. Thank you!!!

I have booked total 3 nights Apr 2, Apr 4 & 6. On the first night Apr 2, the security box was now working, shower head holder was broken.
On Apr 4, we arrived the hotel at 11pm. Rush to take a shower after a long day, water was burning since cold water was not available. Again, the security box is not working. Front desk staff came and provided another smaller room, from a 2 beds to 1 bed room. The room is unbelievable small. When everything was settled down, it's almost midnight. We've been staying in the same tiny room for 2 nights. We seriously request a refund since it's not the room we booked.

I arrived at Gare de Lyon later than scheduled and the car hire (Europcar - big thumbs down for them incidentally) had closed without waiting. Stranded overnight in the centre of Paris I was amazed to find a place for less than Eu 100/night. Timhotel was less than 5 mins from the station and the staff remained on duty all night as well as being friendly (not always the case in Paris!). It was -3 degrees that night but the room was warm as well as clean, the shower piping hot and very little discernible noise from other guests. Woke refreshed a ready to resume my journey. A great place to stay in this sort of situation.

It’s a nice little hotel, right across the street from Gare de Lyon. The elevator required two trips, with all our luggage. Breakfast was about average. I did not like the fact that there were only two AC outlets, and they were close together above the desk. We need at least four outlets spaced around the room. We have to plug in two CPAP breathing machines, plus charging all of our devices. I hope the 17 other Timhotels around Paris are more technologically up to date.

The staff were great, I got there early and they kept my bags for me while I walked around. When I got back at check-in time I got my bags and went to my room. The hallways are really small, the cleaning lady had her clean linen bags and dirty linen bags in the hallway by my door for the entire weekend so I would have to step over them each time walking through. The toilet ran so there was constant water noise.
HOWEVER, the room was clean, no bugs, nothing that seemed off, the staff were kind, I always felt safe, and it was a nice place to just end the day.

Location is very convenient and there’s a lot of restaurants and stores to buy food and drinks. Staff are wonderful although they room cleaning is not very flexible, we ended up opting not to clean room as they couldn’t come back in the afternoon. Water is only available on the first day and only instant coffee is available in the room. The bathtub drain sucked and the tile grout needs to be redone. The bed and pillows are very comfortable but you can hear footsteps and even the train from outside.

Smallest hotel I have ever been in. Couldn’t open luggage & no where to store it. Air quality was poor due to a continuous wet carpet. After a few hours you get a blocked nose. Paint peeling from the sealing. Place is old & needs a total refurbishment. Some staff unfriendly, ie would makes us wait outside in the cold until he had finished his business.

Small hotel and fair price for what they offer. You can hear the guests upstairs flushing the toilet and walking around. If you’re a light sleeper like me, be prepared to wake up 3-5 times a night. Buffet is very limited and they had no silverware, plates, or glasses when we came downstairs. The croissants were excellent but there was no fruit, which we thought was weird. The lady at the front desk is very friendly and tried hard to communicate in English. Overall, a fair experience.

Not only was the room very very small, the sheets and towels had stains, the carrier was dirty and the bathroom drains from time to time would stink the room with urine odor. We decided to cut the stay short and the hotel wouldn't refund the nights i didn't stay in.. the hotel spot is horrible with no good views..

A Convenient, Comfortable Oasis

I chose this hotel for a one-night stay in Paris primarily due to its proximity to Gare de Lyon, which was a relatively short walk after arriving by train with a rolling bag in tow. I usually chose hotels close to train stations for ease of travel, but oftentimes that translates into increased street noise throughout the night. That was not a problem here. My room was modern, clean, comfortable, and typically Parisian (efficient) in size. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Paris is a city best enjoyed by walking, and I treated myself to a comfortable, scenic walk along the Seine, through the busy streets of the Marais, and into the lively Chatelet area. Notre Dame and the Quartier Latin are also within relatively easy reach. The hotel is located on a side street, so getting in and out via Uber was easy, and there was no drama on the way to DeGaulle airport in the morning. All things considered, I found no disappointments with this property, and I would stay here again without a second thought.

A great stay 👌

Everything was as expected and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. For the price and location, I am very pleased with my stay here.

The positives: my room was clean with towels/bedsheets that felt fresh (and not overused like in some hotels). The bathroom appliances all worked fine and aren't too old. I liked that there was a good amount of complementary shower gel and the body lotion is a nice touch. The reception staff are very friendly and speak English well. My bed was comfortable and a good size, and I was also happy that the TV was a decent size to be able to watch in bed. The in-room air-conditioning was a life-saver during the hot days of August (one of the reasons I chose this hotel in the first place).

The negative points I have are very minor and are not complaints, but aspects which have room for improvement. The shower curtain could be cleaner. I would have preferred a ceiling light as opposed to a wall light as it didnt light the whole room up equally. To state the obvious, yes the rooms here are quite small and don't leave a lot of room to move around, however I would much rather pay a reasonable price for a hotel with a decent sized bed and excellent service as opposed to paying over the top for a larger room which I would only spend the night time in.

WE LOVE THE CONVINIENCE OF THESE HOTEL. WAS LOCATED WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE TRAIN STATION, NO ONLY THAT BUT YOU CAN ALSO WALK TO THE DIFFERENT TOURIST ATRACTIONS.
THE ONLY THING THAT WE DO NOT LIKE WAS THE SIZE OF THE ROOM EVERYTHING WAS MINUSCULE EXCEPT THE BED.

I have stayed here a few times, but this time was shocking. We found a piece of glass in the bed, and when we complained to the gentleman on reception, he simply bandaged my mother's finger (she cut it on the piece when getting into bed) and said there were no other rooms available. When I persisted, he then demanded to be shown our room where the glass was, he pulled back the covers and found yet another bigger piece of glass and reluctantly changed our room. Absolutely shocking.

The hotel was fine for one night. I chose it because it was walking distance from the train station and I was arriving late by train. There was an ugly hole in the ceiling of my room, it was 80 degrees F in the room when I arrived, and the shower head was broken. Check in was easy though and the room was clean. The only coffee in the room was instant decaf and the walls were pretty thin so I could hear everyone in the halls.

I've stayed at worse...

Among the reasons I picked this hotel was that it has air conditioning. First night, the electricity went out and the a/c never came back on. Staff said there was nothing they could do as the hotel was booked. Spent a sleepless night with windows open listening to all the varied noises of a busy city. Next day, the staff offered to move us into the room across the hall, but warned that the previous occupant complained that the room was too cold. Decided that a cold quiet room was better than a hot noisy one. Learned that the reason the room was cold was that the thermostat wouldn't go above 20c. Spent a sleepless night alternating between being exposed to the cold air and sweltering beneath the thick comforter. When I asked about a discount on the room rate to accommodate for our discomfort, all we were offered was a free visit to the breakfast buffet. Paris is expensive, but 13 Euros for warm yogurt and dry croissants is robbery. Glad it was free. Credit to the kitchen staff, though, for working his butt off to keep the breakfast area tidy and stocked. Most of these small hotel buildings are very old, so I can't fault the hotel for having cramped rooms and thin walls. But there's no excuse for a broken hair dryer, leaky shower head and scary stains on the carpet and window coverings. TimHotel is a local chain, and I cannot speak for their other locations. But I'd recommend against Timhotel Paris Gare de Lyon.

Perfect location to explore Paris

We’ve used TH twice. Location near Lyon station is perfect for catching TGV or metro lines. Staff is friendly and rooms, while basic, are clean and perfect for a space to store while you explore. Will use TH again when visiting Paris.

Charming little hotel provided exactly what I needed and expected! Super close to Pare Gare De Lyon, which was ultra convenient for my needs. The staff was friendly and attentive, had no issues checking in or out our storing luggage for the day as I arrived early. The neighborhood was fine, felt like real Paris (def not as touristy as some of the more popular areas). I would 100% stay again.

We booked this room because it's very close to Gare de Lyon. We had to catch the early morning train to Geneva so we decided to book into this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. We booked a Triple room but it was a super compact room.
One of the hotel staff wasn't particularly friendly. We reached there before check-in time and he asked us to return back after 1-2 hours. We left our luggage there and went for lunch and came back after 1.30 hour. He asked us in the very sarcastic way if 2 hours were over?
Other than that, the hotel was good overall.

Great location; close to the Gare de Lyon within walking distance of lots of attractions, including the Bastille. Quiet street, which is unusual in a big city, and very friendly staff. Kettle and tea possibilities in the room always get my vote, and they were here too. Very clean bathroom. Room small, but perfectly formed.

Oven room (The Dungeon)

I arrived at the hotel at night. I had been traveling all day by train. My first impression when I got to the room was that it did not look like the pictures I saw on the Expedia site. In order to get in you had to open two consecutive doors (5 inches apart) which made it look odd. The room had a funny smell, and the window had no view. Outside the room window, it was dirty mostly by bird poop and water. One of the soaps was open like somebody had just been there. It was very difficult to sleep because the hotel room did not have any air conditioning, and it was very hot. The beds had only a comforter and no sheets. When I went to see the hotel clerk he was very rude and did not speak English. He told me that not all the rooms had air conditioning and that he did not have another room available. My room had no view, it was dark and hot. My son and I had to take showers at 2 in the morning to be able to fall asleep. Also, my daughter had a rash on her arm, which looked like a bug bite. I was lucky to have booked this hotel for only one night. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We checked in around 4:00 PM and they gave us a room without air conditioning. This was in July and the heat was terrible. I went to the front desk and they said that there was nothing they could do because rooms on the first floor did not have an air conditioning unit yet and they were booked 100% for the night. I told them it was still early, they probably had not assigned all the rooms yet. Then, they gave us another room with an air conditioning unit on the third floor. Let me be clear, staff at the hotel were nice and polite, is just that not all of their rooms have air conditioning. Overall, our stay was OK, just the room and the bathroom were VERY small.

Great Location

The location is the best feature of this hotel. Relatively easy to find. About 5 minutes walk to Gare de Lyon. Don't bother with the breakfast. The coffee, pastries and sandwiches at the L'Espirit Nature just up the street are better & you'll spend less money.
The staff were very kind and helpful, but getting our boarding passes printed was troublesome. We had to download the boarding passes and e-mail them to the hotel. It would have been much simpler if we could have just printed directly from the computer.
There is an airport shuttle which is convenient but it costs 10 Euros more than the train and it takes longer. The traffic at 4:30 in the afternoon was heavy.
For a reasonably priced hotel in a great location you couldn't ask for much better.

The first room I got downstairs was nice but had some strange drainage noise from the wall. I asked for a change of room and was given immediately. The new room was also nice. The rooms are small but I didn't mind them at all. The location is very close to the train station and within easy access to the metro to almost any part of Paris. The staff was courteous too. I had a great one night stay.

Although I only stayed here for one night, my stay was was very pleasant. Despite the neighborhood being a little busy at night, I slept well and comfortably. It is also a very convenient location : 5 minutes from Gare de Lyon and there are many restaurants within the vicinity.

Budget hotel, VERY budget hotel! The free internet was very weak, sometimes not working at all and the kitchen burned something setting off fire alarms at 4 in the morning causing an evacuation of all guests. I would not stay here again BUT if you are on a budget it is cheap and it is near Gare de Lyon. I would like to comment on the front desk staff. The man working at the desk was very helpful lending us the hotel phone and contacting our airline for us after our flight was cancelled. Everyone was really friendly.

picked this hotel for location near overnight train from Italy. our room was very small with large windows looking into a brick wall. didn't really matter since we spent the whole time walking around Paris. but i wouldn't stay there for a prolonged visit.

Convenient South-Easterly City Location

Although enough away from the main roads to avoid being noisy or congested, the hotel was around a three minute walk to a local central Metro station, and around a 15-20 minute pleasant walk to the Notre Dame, Natural History Museum and parkland, and with several shops and eateries nearby. The area around the hotel felt safe, so walking alone in the evening or early hours did not feel hazardous, and the reception was manned 24-hours a day with friendly and reliable staff.

Okay place to stay

Hotel was an okay place to stay in Paris. Price was right, especially for Paris, but don't expect anything much. Super small room, uncomfortable beds and pillows, and not the friendliest of service. But, hey, that's Paris. Go to the countryside to improve all those categories for the same price. Good location though. 5 minute walk to Gare de Lyon. Great place to stay if you need to catch a train in the morning which is what we did.

The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was in great condition. Unfortunately, there is no soundproofing, so the noise from other rooms and the corridor can get quite annoying. Also, the window could not be closed, fortunately it wasn't too cold outside.

Location is 5.mins walk to lyon station. But u must come out from the correct exit else quite hard to get to the hotel.
Thought web photo is looks nice but room is very small but quite clean. But sound proofing is bad. The neighbor room happy sound is really clear.

Anyway, it's cheap u so cant ask for more. Else u can pay for a bit more to choose nearby hotel which quite a lot.

Front desk personnel were friendly and efficient. The door from the hall to my room was substandard...light in the crack on all 4 sides, no security lock. The bathroom "Kleenex" box on the wall was empty, the amenities were minimal, though the room appeared clean. The room became too warm during the night, and there was little sound protection between rooms. I could hear one of my neighbors snoring. I would not choose this hotel again which is too bad as it has an excellent location.

You get what you pay for

Hotel situated very near Gare de Lyon, clean and handy for Metro and local bars/cafes, pleasant area of Paris. No water in our room for first few hours, no apology/concern from any member of staff during our three day visit. A staff member informed us he was relieved the problem with the water had been on the Monday as that had been his his day off!!!
Generally staff were just about ok but NOT ONE went the extra mile to make us feel welcome, the 'personal touch' was completely absent.

Our train fron Nice to Paris was delayed and we did not arrive until almost 2 in the morning. The hotel is only minutes from Gare de Lyon and our rom was small but clean and the bed comfortable. Only drawback is noisy plumbing but we were so tired it did not affect our sleep

We needed a hotel in Paris for the last night of a two week vacation that would allow us to conveniently go to the airport in the morning. This hotel served that purpose but it had zero charm. It was even a little scary because we had a ground floor room and no air conditioning, looking right onto the street. I was not willing to sleep with the windows open facing right onto the street at chest high level. It did have metal roll down shutters, so we were able to get a tiny bit of fresh, cool air by leaving a small crack open at the bottom of those. The shower was so tiny that I had to step out to soap up because I couldn't turn around, and I'm a trim, athletic person. On the plus side, the hotel arranged for a shuttle to the airport in the morning that was very convenient. It was also convenient to the Lyon train station where we just walked from with our roller bags. It was an interesting new area of Paris to explore too.

I can deal with a smaller room...that's just Paris. This place takes small to the next level. Less than 15" from bed to the wall. It was close to Gare de Lyon which was helpful.

Good Value.

The room was very small, but very cleaan with a really comfortable bed. Bathroom also very clean, but very small shower that leaves something to be desired. Its a no frills hotel, don't expect anyone to help you with your bags or anything. The location is ok, central enough to walk to most places within half an hour, but not much in the immediate vicinity. But if you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to sleep and have a budget, this is a good option.

Good value hotel

I stayed in this hotel during the Valentine's weekend. I was very happy as the receptionists spoke good English and were friendly, which unfortunately is not necessarily standard in Paris. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, although as expected in Paris, quite small. The hotel is on a side street so relatively quiet, but still convenient to get everywhere.

Good for the price and location

The hotel is great as a base for solo travellers or young couples but at the time of our stay it couldn't be considered high quality and might not be right for the romantic break. Major refurbishment work was under way however, so it may now have upgraded...

In truth, you get what you pay for, small but clean, in a good location for exploring the city. I would recommend this hotel in the right circumstances. If you're looking for space or luxury then look elsewhere, but expect to pay a whole lot more!

good location for gare de lyon or australitz

paid for double room got a single had to argue before i got a double and had to wait hours had paid extra for double and breakfast got the room at the end but had to pay for breakfast again

Only for the little people.

Reception very friendly. Location good for Gard du Lyon station, 400m away in side street.
Room 102 size is very small, only a few inches around the bed on two sides. Likely to bang head on flatscreen TV.
Toilet location very restricted, lack of knee room.
Shower curtain oversized for tray and hence water on floor.
Breakfast overpriced 13 at euros.

My knickname for it was " the tinyTIMHOTEL"

Very pleasantly surprised. This hotel was great for the price. Room was small, staff very cordial. Skip tbe breakfast, too expensive.

Location is what matters for on budget backpackers

We lacked space in the room, even to walk around the bed. Shower too reduce. Lack of AC would have been a problem if temperature had been three degrees higher. Lack of smile at front counter

Space

The room was so tiny, you had to bend over to wiggle between the bed and the wall to get to the bathroom without banging your head on the TV. The staff took 16Euros from us to book a shuttle service to the airport. They never booked the shuttle and we almost missed out flight while they now tried to get us a last minute taxi for which we would pay full fare and they could still keep the 16Euros. We screamed our heads off, got our money back and barely made it to the bus station - which was the only good thing about this hotel. The bus station is 5minutes walk away!

Tiny Room

While very close to the train station, (3 mins walk) Paris Gare Lyon, the room was so small that the only way to get into our suitcases was to put them on the bed. There is no air conditioning which is necessary in Summer in order to close the window against the noise from outside. My husband hit his head on the wall mounted TV when trying to get to bed. I felt the cost was not reflected in the room quality. Breakfast at 13 euro was not as nice as we had experienced elsewhere. Staff were helpful and friendly and printed off our boarding pass for which we were very grateful

Very convenient to Gare de Lyon

Building was under construction and corridors were covered in plastic. Room was fine. Very satisfactory, clean hotel without a sense of luxury. Easy walk from Gare de Lyon.

Timhotel - Gare de Lyon

This hotel is located just a five minute walk away from the Gare de Lyon station. Don't expect a nice view - it's located on a narrow side street where you overlook other similar buildings. But you get what you pay for; a clean hotel - no fancy - but with very friendly staff. It worked perfectly for us.

Convenient location

Hotel is very simple, but clean. Staff is very friendly and location is very good for metro & Gare de Lyon.
View out window was a brick wall and the shower is so small that you can barely turn around without shower curtain sticking to you, but everything was clean. The doors are very noisy when people are coming and going.

TimHotel Paris Gare de Lyon was Hotel Paris Gare de Lyon.

It is called TimHotel Paris Gare de Lyon, but the name of hotel in front was Hotel Paris Gare de Lyon. Because of this name confusion, It was very difficult for us to find the hotel.

A wee bit difficult to find but good value

Once we found this place, it was great value for dollar in the Bastille. The room was clean and the service was friendly. Just make sure you google map this before going!
