Beautiful views. Great customer service. Was treated very well and they were great with my food allergies. The Ridge is more exclusive than the regular Playa Grande. But you have full access to Playa Grande if you want. Plenty of pools, restaurants and walking distance to the Marina.

This is a pretty nice property that is close enough to the Marina, etc. to walk. The rooms are nice and clean and it is fairly quiet here. All the staff is friendly and helpful.
If you don't get the all-inclusive option it is fairly expensive to eat here and there are not that many options to choose from. It is close enough to walk to town and eat there for about half of the price (or less)

We stayed at the Ridge for just two nights. Our room was great! Right by the pool and amazing view of the marina. I know some people complain about the noise from the street side but we could not hear anything with the doors closed. Having access to playa grande pools was a plus. The breakfast buffet was really good.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Ridge at Playa Grande in Cabo San Lucas, and I can confidently say that it was an awesome experience. From the moment we arrived, I was captivated by the sheer beauty of the surroundings and the impeccable service that accompanied it.

The resort itself is a luxurious oasis nestled above the breathtaking landscapes of Cabo. The moment I stepped into the lobby, I was welcomed by the friendly staff, who made me feel like a valued guest from the very beginning. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, setting the tone for the rest of my stay. Jesus was kind and gracious and provided all around excellent service, even finding me at dinner to return a coverup that I unknowingly dropped on the lobby floor.

The accommodations at The Ridge at Playa Grande are nothing short of extraordinary. My room was a true haven of comfort and elegance, with stunning views of the marina and beyond stretching as far as the eye could see. The attention to detail in the room's design and amenities was remarkable – from the plush bedding to the fixtures, every aspect was carefully curated to ensure a lavish and relaxing experience. The rooms was large, with one bedroom, two murphy beds, sofa and two baths.

The resort's amenities left me with no shortage of things to do. Whether I was lounging by the infinity pool, playing on the waterslide with my kiddo, exploring the property, or indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment, every moment was a rem

We've stayed at The Ridge many times, and the overall property is beautiful. Unfortunately it seems like they're slipping on maintaning the rooms. The drawers didn't close properly, knobs fell off cabinets repeatedly, remote for the tv didn't work, the shower pressure was pitiful, there was a thick layer of dust in one area of the living room, no extra blankets. Even though we booked a \"presidential suite\" we were placed in a low elevation unit with views straight into that back of neighboring businesses (and the marina over the top). It was loud late at night with music, and early in the morning with street noise. Even the general grounds seemed to be lacking a bit of care. The good: The spa was amazing. Don't miss the Temezcal Ritual experience! The pool and surrounding views are like no other.

We stayed at The Ridge at Playa Grande. Picturesque and exquisitely beautiful. The spa is pricey, however top notch. Staff was very respectable, approachable and responsive. Housekeeping especially - impeccable and on point the entire trip (we stayed 6 days, all inclusive package). Absolutely worth the price - the Ridge is more of a retreat as it is very peaceful and quiet. However the main resort of Playa Grande has activities everyday for a great change of pace/those travelers who also enjoy festive stays.

Love the location and how The Ridge is built. The biggest issue we had surrounded the water. For the first two days the water was BROWN. One to two inches in the sink and you could not see the bottom. It looked BROWN coming out of the shower. You could feel it. It was also very cold. At the beginning of our stay and the end, water temp was 89 degrees (at the peak). Often it was way less than that. Previous trips to this same location did not have either of these issues. Water might have hit the high 90's in the middle. We were told to let the water run for 20 minutes or more before taking a shower or bath (by those that serviced our room). Well, I don't often have 20 extra minutes to wait when I need to go somewhere...having returned from sweating for a few hours.

Hotel was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Jorge and Jose. They made sure we had everything we needed at the pool. Monday Mexican Fiesta party was very entertaining. We definitely go back. We were to stay 3 nighrs at msin hotel and 2 at the Ridge. They upgraded us to the Ridge all week to avoid not having to change rooms. Stay was great!

Amazing 75th birthday celebration!

It was my wife’s 75th birthday and we needed a place large enough that her two grown sons and daughter-in-law could celebrate with us during the day. The Ridge was PERFECT!

The suite was furnished to accommodate 5, which was perfect for hanging out as a group and it had a large balcony with a magnificent view of the Cabo marina and San Lucas Bay.

The head concierge arranged for in-suite birthday decorations prior to our arrival and my wife was treated like a queen during our entire stay, including a complimentary mimosa during her visit to the spa.

The food was excellent and the portions generous, both from room service and at the beautiful Calima restaurant, where we had our birthday night family dinner.

Even in these crazy days of COVID, we felt very safe at all times, even in public spaces.

The Ridge at Playa Grande gets a 10 out of 10 score in every possible category - one of my best resort stays ever.

I am reviewing this hotel because I think I’d like to know more honest reviews when booking. I think i paid abojt $250 per night for the regular hotel price. This included NOTHING- no WiFi, no gym, no meals. I knew this wouldn’t include those things but I did expect more than just a hotel. I expected nice restaurants and good service. This just wasn’t the case! The service was lousy about 75% of the time. I will say we had the best luck at the hotel lobby restaurant but the pool service, the bartenders, the gym (Luis acted so annoyed to be talked to), just didn’t meet my expectations for a resort. It was more like a motel. You get a room, but the rest is up to you. At the pool one day we were invited to a fiesta night and it was really good (don’t get me wrong, it was $48 per person). I wish I knew more of these things existed. Maybe they didn’t who knows. But basically it was a fancy motel. Even service wasn’t very great. Once day we burned something in our kitchen and the smoke detector went off. No one came or anything. We put the burnt out outside and then aired out the room by opening the door. Very oddly, 2 days later someone called and asked if everything was ok because the door was open. So we stayed in a smoke smelling room because they never cleaned it up and the circulation is so bad (I think the vent doesn’t go to the outside just recirculates the room). Also- it was 58 degrees at night and there is no heat in the rooms- only AC- so we were FREEZING at night!!

Are stay over always pleasant but when you arrive most hotels offer free Wi-Fi but it is not something that this hotel offers as a courtesy. You have to pay for it. The accommodations are beautiful as well as the view of the ocean and the bay. When we arrived late at night the the folks in check-in we're somewhat rude but the manager was able to make us feel welcome. Overall it's a beautiful hotel and other than the incident at check in, it is highly recommended.

Excellent stay! The pool at the Ridge is fantastic and the kids had so much fun on the water slides. We loved watching the ships come into the harbor. The noise from the bars is loud at night, so if you are a light sleeper, you may want to take that into account. We turned on the AC and closed the doors and were fine. Fantastic hotel!

The free breakfast?

The free breakfast varies per waiter/waitress. One place said one egg and and fruit with hash browns and they brought it to you this way. Another time at the same location they would send you to the buffet with limited choices but much more reasonable. So the rest of the time we ate off the property which the food was excellent. Also, one can stop at Walmart (the nicest Walmart I ever been in, friendly, clean, and employees very helpful... I am not a fan of Walmart here in the US) and shop for food and drinks. Thus bringing down the cost quite a bit. Rooms were very nice. Ours had a private room, and a full sized Murphy bed and a twin sized Murphy bed which was really cool since there was 4 of us. View to the marina was awesome. Can even watch the dolphin show from the balcony. The property requires going up a lot of steps so if you have troubles walking, this is not a place for you. Overall, had a great experience there and recommend it!

We stayed in a one bedroom suite at The Ridge, it was very spacious and comfortable. The property is very well maintained. The Ridge is part of and connected to Playa Grande Resort, some drivers don’t know where The Ridge is, so just ask them to take you to Playa Grande. It is a very large resort so be prepared to do a lot of walking. You’ll be across the street from the marina on one side, on the other is the beach (no swimming). We had American breakfast included, which consists of eggs, hash browns, coffee, plate of fruit OR fruit juice

Nice resort with comfortable rooms overlooking the marina.
Short walk to marina or downtown Cabo.
The only bad thing is the lengthy check in process. We arrived at 11:00 am and didn’t get room keys until exactly 4:00pm. They were in no hurry to get our room ready any sooner even though the majority of people didn’t arrive until later in the afternoon.

We stayed at The Ridge at Playa Grande with two kids and had the most amazing time! There was plenty of space in our room (Murphy bed for the kids in the living room, master bedroom w king bed for us). The resort was beautifully situated near the beach as well as near the marina. Quick walk to everything! Dolphin center/ Cabo adventures, water taxis, plenty of restaurants, etc. also on site, they have multiple pools so never a dull moment. I would recommend the ridge to anyone traveling with a family.

If you like hiking...

I have stayed at the playa grande at least five times and opted to try the ridge for a change. The hotel was very clean and nice and the adult only infinity pools were a very nice added bonus. No rush to lay your towels out early to get a good spot like the lower pools...you can always find a chair with a view at the ridge! However, be prepared to hike as it's quite the little jaunt to get around from way up on the ridge.

The Ridge at Playa Grande was perfect!! The entire resort was spotless, the staff was so friendly (especially Yoni and Ernesto and Chuy) they treat you like family. Location was awesome if you want to explore the marina as it is just a couple minutes away. Lots of good eating and fun everywhere. Captain Tony's and Solomon's are excellent eating spots, go to Sanchos for drinks. Will be returning to this resort!!

Look out for hidden fee on your bill at check out!

We usually love staying here, and usually have a good experience. This was our 4th trip to either Playa Grande or The Ridge, so we've been there plenty of times to know what we are getting ourselves into. We often stay at The Ridge because we like the pool, free breakfast & wifi, and location. However, we received a surprise at the end of this trip. When checking out, the associate quickly handed us our bill for incidentals, which included things such as drinks at the pool, restaurant, etc. It was broken out into several line items and we were in a bit of a hurry to catch our ride to the airport, so I looked at it and asked the associate \"these are just charges from the pool & restaurant, right?\" He said \"yes, that's it!\" So I signed it, asked him for a copy and we checked out and left. When getting home, I noticed they inserted (to where it blended in with the rest of the charges) a charge for \"Solmar Foundation Optional Donation.\" The associate NEVER pointed this charge out to me and I was not aware that I agreed to it. I've contacted The Ridge about this, and they won't transfer me to the billing department. I sent an email over a week ago, and still no response. It's disappointing, because we've been staying here since 2011, and have never had an experience like this. Regardless of how big/small the fee, the fact that they snuck it on to the bill without telling me is just wrong (and could be considered theft). Please double-check your bill if you go!

Cabo weather is almost always great. If you stay at the Ridge and go to the Ridge pool bar, Raciel and Felipe are two of the best bartenders you'll find anywhere. Great drinks, creative suggestions and they remember your names when you come back. And the views from the Ridge pool are awesome! Definitely want to book a room that faces toward the ocean - the marina side is very noisy late into the night. The all-inclusive deal is great if you plan to stay on property more than not, but exploring downtown Cabo's restaurants and shops is a lot of fun.

The hotel grounds were beautiful and picturesque. The layout of the rooms was a bit confusing (up and down hills; which also meant up an down in elevators). There was no easy navigation from building to building - 3rd floor of one building could equal the 1st floor of another due to being built into the mountains. The grounds were well maintained and the views were scenic. The amount of pools and activities were vast as well. The staff was very cordial.

My husband and I went for 7 days/ 6 nights for our anniversary trip. The hotel staff was amazing and they upgraded us to Playa Grande after our first night at the Ridge. We had a marina view at the Ridge and then got a beach view at Playa Grande for the rest of our stay. So romantic! Can't wait to go back!

Nice hotel, maid service excellent. To many hills and steps for older people. 3of us got food poisoning on the scrambled eggs served by the upper pool. Manager did not want to believe us. Throw up and such. All within an hour of eating the same thing. Breakfast was included, but only American breakfast with eggs. All we wanted was to be able to order something different. Manager was rude _ said we should have gone to hospital. It was obvious what we all got sick on - plus we spoke with a member of our family who is a physician to confirm.

Loud Room, Food Poisoning, No View, Bad Treatment!

We travel extensively, but rarely write reviews. We have been to Cabo over 15 times at 6 different resorts. The look of the resort is nice, but I was exceedingly disappointed!

Room - Our room had virtually no view looking out at rooftops with a barely visible marina and no ocean view. The room was very loud at night with cars on the road just below the room making it impossible to use the balcony and difficult to sleep with car alarms going off at night. The inside of the room itself was nice and spacious - but certainly not what I expected. This was unquestionably the loudest room with the poorest view we have ever had in Cabo. After check-in to get towels we had to visit with someone pushing time-share presentations for 15 minutes - Crazy!

Food Poisoning - My 68 year old Mother and 11 year old Daughter both got Staphylococcal food poisoning from the under cooked or non-refrigerated scrambled eggs they ate in the American Breakfast included in our stay. They were the only two people in a group of 6 to eat the scrambled eggs. Approximately 1.5 hours after eating breakfast they both got chills, sudden onset vomiting and nausea that lasted approximately 12 hours and they were fine. We asked the manager if we could substitute something else for the eggs and it was a disaster discussion - simply horrible treatment! After finally agreeing, we substituted an item the next day, but then got charged the following day! We gave up and ate much better food off-site.

Overall we had an amazing time here!! You really don't even need to leave the resort... everything is there. Most of the staff is really friendly and great to deal with... had a couple wait staff members who weren't incredibly attentive or friendly, but that was the exception and not the rule. We will definitely go back here again!! Highly recommend.

We felt the stay was excellent until checking out and discovered that a phone call to a 1-800# in the states cost $116.50!
I asked to speak to the manager and he reduced it by 50%, but still felt taken advantage of since they only disclosed their rates after the fact. I recommend using a calling card.

Regarding breakfast at the Ridge, it is a waste of time! Service and food are very disappointing! Go to Mama's for the Juevos Ranchero con Camarrrrrrrrrrones y Langosta! Add a mimosa and your morning is set! Rohn

Nice place in Cabo

My wife & I Had a great stay.loved the resort.. We however did occur an accident on the ground's. Coming back from the Marina late one night. We entered through the gate from the street, begin to walk through the dark, unlighted walk way, and she slipped and fell very hard.I managed to get her TO our room,beading from her head.call hotel emergency #.they showed up within 15 minutes. Thy arranged for a doctor to come to our room at 2:00 am to attend to her.she received 3 stitches on her eyebrow. Doctor was fantastic, wrote a prescription for antibiotics. Charged me $400.00 + $65.00 for the medicine. Not to bad compared to U.S.A. fee's

Hotel-Grounds Very Nice / Food Uninspired

The hotel, lobby, pool area, beach and location were all very nice. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Our suite (living room, bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining, and large balcony) was attractive. Large king bed was VERY comfortable with high quality bedding and sheets. No complaints.

But the odd part of the hotel, and possibly true of time-share resorts, was the lack of quality food. The lobby restaurant/bar had a simple bar menu like a sporting event... No wine list, no wine choices either....cab, chardonnay.

A beautiful repeater!

Loved the Ridge, great view of the marina in room, then view of the pacific at the pool. The Sunday brunch and breakfast buffet was fab, a little expensive, but great variety and worth it. Had a full kitchen area in room, with price club and walmart in town. The pools were fabulous and the chairs comfortable.
Attended the beach party on Wednesday night, we had a blast. Great entertainment. Awesome balcony. Great for the price we got at hotels.com. We will definitely return here. So far only second to the one and only.
Could do with out the time share push, but she was not pushy. I think she could read me.

The crown jewel of Cabo!

My husband, son, and daughter (all adults) stayed at the Ridge for 5 days last week. It was truly amazing and we are very picky. The photos don't do this place justice as the scenery and views are breathtaking. The 1 bedroom two bathroom(with soaking tub) suite in bldg. B on the second floor was clean, spacious and perfect for the four of us. Two Murphy beds in the living room and a king in the bedroom. Huge balcony with a couch and two chairs overlooking the dolphin experience,,the marina, and the entire coastline including Mediano Beach. Interesting to watch the boats come and go including one large cruise ship.

We did the fish spa and it was original. The pools at the ridge are quiet and luxurious. Good towels. The service around the pool was spotty at best. Much confusion with seemingly many waiters and no one seemed to know if an order was taken or not. This occurred many times. Same with the daily included American breakfast at the ridge restaurant. Long waits and several confused servers not knowing what we needed. This could be tightened up a bit.

The main pool and beach area at the Playa Grande was fun also. You are unable to swim at this beach!!! The action at the main pool seemed entertaining though we opted for a quieter location right next to the beach.

A $10 p.p. Water taxi to Lover's beach and the Arch are a must! Right outside of the resort you can catch one of these at the marina at any time.

Overall an outstanding upscale resort.

Beautiful view of marina and Cabo!

We stayed in a large 2 bedroom villa with views of the marina and town. It was a beautiful view and the villa had plenty of spacious rooms with loads of storage space. The furniture and some parts of the resort are showing a little wear or I would give it a 5 star rating. It was super clean and I LOVED the fact that we never had to fight for a pool chair or space for the family in the main areas of the Ridge. A wonderful family experience at the Ridge.

I believe this was our 5th or 6th visit to Playa Grande, and we are already talking about going back next year. The Ridge is our favourite place, as the staff there is exceptional! Teofilo, Juan, Israel and Ivan made this trip even better than the last - going out of their way to help us with the smallest things, even recommending restaurants in town for us to visit!

So happy for the Playa Grande and many other resorts in Cabo that are back open and looking beautiful as ever! Can't praise the people of Cabo enough after what they went through during the storm and recovering so quickly! You are all amazing! Thanks for another great stay at Playa Grande. We didn't actually stay at the Ridge as planned but they made arrangements for a room right on the beach that was so amazing! All the pools are open and everyone is so happy to see us! Can't wait to get back there soon!

Never received our room

We were never given a room. After check in hurricane odele struck. We were not allowed to enter room. On the next day after check in the room we were assigned had to have door to room smashed in by hotel maintenance. The room was flooded with all windows smashed. We asked for another room and were told there were none. We checked out on the day after check in.

Grand Hotel Within Walking Distance of Cabo

We had a pleasant time at this beautiful hotel. We picked it because of proximity to downtown so we could walk back and forth to the Marina and Downtown. The hotel is very well run. The staff is friendly and aims to please.
We particularly enjoyed our room on the Playa side (which we asked for based on prior reviews on expedia).
We had a partial ocean and pool view which was nice. The downside was that at night they have different-themed events in the restaurants by the pool and the noise kept our one-year old past her bedtime until 9 O'clock when it shut down. We enjoyed the pools the most and our 5 year-old son and 1 year old daughter had a great time. This hotel caters to families and singles. And so our 5 year old became very familiar with the idea of happy hour time and drinking pool games. Oh well.

Solid resort in a central area

Pros:
* nice, uncrowded beach
* comprehensive resort offerings/activities
* centrally located

Cons:
* a bit of a trek to get to your room from the lobby
* if you can help it, try not to get the rooms at the bottom of the hill. More noise overall, the path to your room gets even more convoluted and the view isn't as nice as the rooms higher on the hill.

Beautiful hotel overlooking the Marina

We stayed for one week and our only complaint was that our room was quite far from lobby and entrance. I didn't mind the walk, which is up and down hills, because I enjoy exercising, but for elderly or out of shape people, they most likely will ask to move closer.

Amazing!

The ridge is part of the bigger Grande Playa resort and comes with those amenities, Saved some money. The room was beautiful and clean. The balcony was large as was the room. These rooms over look the marina and the ocean on the sea of Cortez side from high on the ridge between both oceans. Perfect! The hotel staff met my request and help to provide my girlfriend and I with a very romantic weekend.

Luxury and Amazing Views

We traveled with the entire family (high school and college kids). We were extremely lucky and stayed at a 1 bedroom suite right next to the Ridge pools. Thus, our walk from the room to the hotel lobby wasn't terribly far.

The Ridge pools were very clean and weren't overpopulated. We stayed in mid-December.

The location of this hotel is THE BEST. It's right next to the marina, very close to Medrano Beach, in the hub of everything.

The breakfast included was great- fruits, potatoes, beans, eggs, and juice/coffee from the restaurant.

The cleaning staff was superb. The guys in the front lobby check-in desk: not so much. The gentleman who check us in was incompetent, to say the least. He gave us a set time that our room would be cleaned and ready. When that time came, he said our room wasn't ready and he gave us a new time. The new time comes, and what do you know- room still isn't ready. Granted, we were early for check-in; however, if we're given a specific time, we expect it to be met.
