Breakfast was a sham. Ran out cups and bowls. Bread bowhere near the toaster, coffee machines were also hot water machine for tea and it was slowest pouring machine that over existed. It took forever to make hot drinks and you can imagine the queue for it. Otherwise lovely stay!! But breakfast needs completely re-organising

The room was lovely with its balcony overlooking the town square. The staff were amazing , so courteous and welcoming.
Breakfast was a buffet in the dining room which was presented lovely. Hotel very elegant.
There is no restaurant at hotel for lunch or dinner. The only bar is the roof top bar which is not open every day. We were given a voucher with this booking for a free drink each ( there were 8 of us ) but couldnt use the voucher because the bar wasn’t open.

I am perplexed by the high ratings this hotel has received. While it is in a good location with close proximity to restaurants and the train station, it is in need of an update. Specifically, the flooring in the hallways is very worn, damaged and dirty. There are bleach spots and others that are patched and dirty. The first room we were assigned smelled like cigarette smoke covered with fragrance. We asked for another room which was better however the TV didn’t work (full disclosure, we didn’t ask the staff for assistance to fix it). The bathroom was nice except the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall and the door knob was falling off the door so it wouldn’t latch. The rooftop bar, which we were looking forward to seeing, was closed for two days (the entire time we were there). We walked up to it, it was just closed for no apparent reason. Overall, it was a disappointing stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is ideally located overlooking Lille’s Grand place (Place General de Gaulle). Staff are friendly and helpful. The sleeping arrangement consisted of two beds pushed together plus one sofa bed. Both were comfortable.

Negative points: dirty marks on the duvet cover, had to request a replacement as no alternative room available. Duvet cover changed.
Main bugbear was the toilet. It was located in a cupboard/boxed in alcove! No facility to wash or even disinfect hands. Hand washing had to be done in the bathroom which involved opening and closing three doors. Not hygienic. Spacious room but definitely needs to be rearranged.

Breakfast reasonable but not sure it was worth €18.

Hotel was okay. The Cafe Bar was never open although stated on hotel site. Room AC didn't work (room 306) so had to open windows - this meant mosquitos could share our room so a few bites and blood were given away free (this was in October). We didn't take breakfast and ate out for breakfast. All in all a good hotel with some niggles. Great location if you like shopping (my partner does).

Lives up to its name!

We were delighted with the Grand Hotel Bellevue on our trip to Lille. The reception staff were courteous and helpful, they even stored a pizza we’d ordered from a local pizzeria in the fridge overnight so we could have it for lunch the next day.
The breakfast choices were good, and catered for different needs/diets. The hotel decor made it look very grand. Our room was great, comfy queen bed and lovely bathroom with a separate toilet which was useful. Plenty of space for the 3 of us, and the robes and slippers were an added luxury. The views from the rooftop balcony were awesome, and we enjoyed a drink there one evening. The drinks at the hotel were a bit more expensive than some of the cafes around the corner, but they were good cocktails! Highly recommend this hotel to other guests

Don’t stay here!

The front door was locked upon arrival. No one at reception. We knocked and waited. Finally an employee came, called and door unlocked. Rather scary for women in street. Third floor halls rugs had stains, dirty neglected. Safe in room didn’t work. Oder in room. Stain on bathroom ceiling and water on floor by toilet. We requested refund. Could not get an employee to help. Unsatisfactory. Do not understand why it is rated a 9.

The Belle Vue is beautifully positioned overlooking the main square right in the centre of town. It’s beautifully renovated, combining the old with the new in a very modern and tasteful way. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of 4. We had a beautiful room, with a large bathroom and separate toilet. The kids shared a large sofa bed and there was amble room for a 9 and 5 year old. We only had breakfast on the last morning but there was enough to suit all tastes. Including children with pancakes and waffles available. The hotel overall was very clean and the reception staff were incredibly helpful. The rooftop bar is a must with amazing views.

Hotel in a good location, unfortunately the service, apart from the front desk, left a lot to be desired. Room only half cleaned, breakfast room to small so everyone was squashed in and food constantly running out. The rooftop bar looked good but the cocktails and staff were not. And the constant smell of drains and sewers did not help. Overall the lack of management and training seemed to be the main problem.

Our classique room faced the staircases so it was dark but it was spacious and quiet. Bathroom was clean and decent sized. Excellent location, close to all the attractions and public transport.
Aircon in the room wasn't effective and it was more like a fan so the room was warm and stuffy. The room would be unpleasant during summer.
All staff we came across were friendly and helpful.
Rooftop bar was excellent with the best view in Lille.
Other than the aircon issue, this is a great hotel.

It was a struggle for everyone to prise bread out of the toaster as slices were so small!! No English speaking TV channels at all, not even news. Overall a pleasant hotel with couple of negatives.

The rooftop patio is excellent, all of the servers were wonderful. The night time Manager was also very kind and helpful. One thing to mention - it took 3 people to check me in and not one person mentioned that they have a bug zapping plug in. I was attacked by mosquitos at night that is the only reason I am rating this property good and not excellent. If you know that mosquitos get into the room through the vents - have the bug zapper plugged in! or make sure that the check in process mentions it. Both nights I couldn't sleep because mosquitos were after me!

I booked a room specifically for its “bathtub and shower combination” but the room didn’t have a bathtub. The staff were incompetent and rather slow in addressing the issue and at the end of the evening suggested a room in another hotel, which was impossible at that point with an elderly who was physically limited (hence the need for bathtub to do physio). They said they’d contact the manager but never did or at least no manager got back to us as one would expect.

A little tired, ok for a flying visit

Hotel seemed a bit tired. There was scaffolding out the front on our visit. Room was incredibly hot and air conditioning did not work. No paper or clean hand towels in the lobby bathroom at 1pm on a Saturday. Breakfast was fine. Room was reasonably clean albeit a hair on the sink. Shower was good. If the air conditioning worked and we didn’t have to ask for the lobby bathroom to be restocked it would get a higher rating. Staff were all very pleasant. Good location as well.

A beautiful hotel in a really central location. The team could not have been more welcoming and were so adept at switching between French and English when my French reached its limit! The room had everything you could need, with a coffee machine, kettle, hairdryer, bath and shower. The wifi signal was great too. The breakfast buffet had everything you could need, including proper orange juice and limitless coffee. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city

Chose room with view of the central square, i highly recommend. Breakfast was busy so don't be late, a few things ran out.

Hotel was very accommodating when I had made a silly mistake with my booking and staff were ver friendly.

Hotel is in a perfect location for a city break.

We only stayed one night. The reception was the best about this hotel. They were so friendly and lovely people. However, the carpets in the hallways and the fabric chair in our room had huge multiple stains all over them. Our view out our window was an interior view of a roof and HVAC system, which was fine, knowing we were only there for 1 night and that it would be quiet. The hotel was in a great location, but would have paid more for a nicer/cleaner room with view if it would have been offered. I did not complain or ask for a room change. It was our first night in France traveling from the US.

In the heart of Lille . Well maintained property and easy access to public transportation. The staff was friendly and a shout out to the young lady at the front desk Asia she went up above and beyond to welcome us . Gave us the city map and she explained to us the site we must visit and the places we could dine based on our preferences. Thank you Asia for your hospitality and support during our stay .

Very nice location smack in the middle of the city. The car can be parked underground in a public parking about 200m from the hotel. Everything is basically walking distance. There are so many restaurants and wine bars in the surrounding area and shopping options are plenty as well. It is perfect for a weekend away or just a convenient overnight trip. The rooms are clean and cosy, the bathroom is well quipped and high quality towels are provided as well. Highly recommend this hotel and will surely stay there again for our next visit!

Prefect ovation for exploring the city

The hotel is a wonderful historic building renovated to a very high standard. We had a huge room, great en-suite and a very comfortable bed. The entrance was beautiful and festive. The roof terrace was fantastic. Breakfast excellent and staff extremely helpful.
We would have liked to have a couple of English speaking channels on the TV and some radio options.

This was a fantastic location. We were here while the very small Christmas market was on. Nice but not much to purchase apart from hats, scarfs and beer.
We came by Eurostar, 12mins walk to hotel and also found the local trains easy.

Great 3 night stay and excellent location. We did have a lot of mosquitos in the room which was a shame despite the repellent in the room and quite unexpected for mid October. Highly recommend the hotel and a very comfortable stay. Thank you.

It is love my hotel. It is brilliantly positioned. The property was probably recently renovated- all nice and clean and comfortable.
The room was quiet, bed very comfortable. I enjoyed tea kettle in the room. Breakfast was not fancy but everything was fresh and delicious.it was a very pleasant stay!

We only stayed one night but we loved this hotel. Location is ideal, roof terrace was fabulous, staff super friendly, water filter on each floor really appreciated, room nicely decorated and beds comfortable, good breakfast. Only downer was the bad smell of drains in the room :-( a real shame as everything else was perfect.

The hotel and rooms were lovely and there was a good breakfast.
However we were very disappointed that there was no bar open in the Saturday evening. The roof top bar (which we had been looking forward to was closed at 10.00 pm., and the other bar area was completely taken over by a DJ playing music to the street outside.
We were not advised this would be the case and when returned home in the evening when it was to late to make alternative arrangements.
I contacted the hotel 3 times by email and did not receive a response, because if this cavalier attitude to customer service I would not recommend the hotel.

I liked the breakfast, the location, the fact that my room was completely quiet, despite the Braderie being on below. Great handy location too.

A few bar snacks at the rooftop bar menu would have been good.

The hotel is well placed , fabulous, immaculate and staff are so kind, welcoming and helpful. The range of drinks and snacks in the roof top bar were expensive, limited and the service was painfully slow. The layout of our wc was too tight and distracted from such an amazing and spacious room. On the whole we had a fantastic stay in a vibrant and thriving city.

A fairly good hotel in central Lille. The rooms were tastefully decorated but a little worn. An amazing guests only rooftop bar which we enjoyed- we stayed during the Braderie de Lille which made the city insane. The music from the square opposite the hotel was incredibly loud but that was hardly the hotels fault. A good choice for central exploration.
