A chain hotel that is absolutely not a chain hotel

We loved everything about staying at this hotel. Supposedly it's a chain hotel but nobody told the people that run it. When we got there, they offered us a drink they'd made using mint from their own balcony. At breakfast, in addition to the (excellent) buffet they came out with freshly squeezed orange juice they had made themselves in the kitchen. All the staff were lovely and went out of their way to help however they could. And it wasn't even expensive. If/when we return to Lille, this will be where we stay.

Nice Hotel in the center of town with helpful staff and a very good breakfast, nice but compact rooms with comfy beds. We would recommend this hotel although getting a wheelchair in the lift would be tight.

Comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. Excellent location for access to Lille Eurostar station (7 min walk). Very nice bathroom with spacious shower unit. Could do with having tea/coffee making facility in the room. Would be much better to have a safe in the room (this is important).

Terrific location for shopping in Lille

This hotel is a short walk from the train station and across from Euralille, a shopping mall in downtown Lille. This is very convenient for shopping and dashing back and forth to your hotel. Euralille also has a movie theater and it is good to have your hotel close by after a late night show. Throughout my 3-day stay, the staff was friendly and helpful. A cold, limited heavy carb breakfast is included in the room rate, but Carrefour grocery store is across the street if you need more food/snacks. Unfortunately, there is no fridge or microwave in the room. The hotel room was clean and updated and the bed was comfortable. I stayed in a standard room with a shower. I could upgrade for 20 euros to a larger room with a bathtub, but they were sold out. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay and would stay here again.

Great location. Lovely clean room. The only downside was the fact that we had breakfast paid for and we waited 20min standing for a table for 3 while others were staying at the table having their 3rd tea cup and no food, like being at a coffee place not breakfast.

Adequate, nothing special but very inexpensive

I didn’t like the room much. It was very small without a desk and I had to jump over items to get to my bed cos there wasn’t much space to leave my luggage so had to put it on the floor. There was an odour in the room which I tried to get rid of by leaving the window open but it never seemed to go away . Bed was comfy , shower not too bad and breakfast pretty basic. It was close to everything which was convienant as Lille is public toilet challenged so it was always easy to do things and come back to the hotel when required. It’s locarion is it’s best point . Hotel was also quite quiet which is a bonus for inner city .

It was very quiet on the side of the hotel away from the street, but some of the street-side rooms had little balconies. Good quality breakfast included in our rate.

Worth a visit

We had a great stay at Ibis styles, which is very conveniently located near the old town and just a 10 minute walk to the Eurostar station. It is on a quiet back street so there were no problems with noise. The rooms are quite basic, but were very tidy and comfortable and great for our short stay. Breakfast was much better than expected and the staff were very keen to help. At this price we would definitely stay here again if revisiting Lille.

The location is fantastic as you’re on a quiet street that is on the edge of all of the main attractions so it’s easy to walk everywhere. The staff were really helpful and the accommodation was well maintained. There was a good selection of breakfast items and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. A great stay!

Nice location as it’s 30 seconds from the centre square. Breakfast and room was satisfactory. The room was a little under cleaned, mainly in areas that you don’t see (under the bed for example). During our stay the hotel had issues where the fire alarm kept going off without cause, it happened when we were there 4 times in about 36 hours, including during the night. No one other than us actually evacuated, the staff didn’t say anything to us; we felt as though we were unnecessarily put at a huge risk. On 2 occasions the alarm went off when we were in bed in the morning (8am ish), we ran outside whilst breakfast was on and through the eating area in our new pyjamas - people were just sat eating whilst we stood outside alone, looking at us in our pyjamas like we were the idiots. Really worrying for us

Get what you pay for, mainly positives.

Generally clean and tidy. Fan provided in the room which was needed, they were stuffy. We had to have the window open which meant street noise was an issue. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate.

Convenient Hotel

Superb location with just a 20 minute walk from the Eurostar station but a quiet back street situation. The staff were so welcoming and attentive to our requirements it was a real friendly atmosphere from the start. Breakfast was all you expect from a continental hotel and then some more. If we were to return to Lille this would be my hotel of choice to stay in.

Just a10/15 min walk from Lille Europe. Very clean room, a bit on the small side with limited storage for clothes, but perfect for a long weekend. Ensuite large with excellent lighting around mirror. Good shower & hairdryer. Lift small but fine for 2 people with small/medium suitcases. Breakfast was good. Cereal, fresh fruit, machine to make own fresh orange juice. Selection of breads, pastries, cheese, meat, yogurts, dried fruit. Coffee machine with tea, hot choc etc available all day. Would stay again if in area.

I did find the hotel difficult to find so would have appreciated a better downloadable map or just simple step by step directions. The accommodation was perfect for my needs. I had a small room on the sixth floor which was serviced by a lift (the level above was accessed via stairs). The room was small but clean, the shower worked perfectly. There was a plug-in mosquito repellant in the room which I didn't have to use until the end of my stay when a mozzie got in the room. It was very hot but at night and if you leave the windows open then the insects can get in...your dilemma.
Breakfast (including in the cost of my stay) offered a great choice of hot drinks, fruit juice, cereal, range of breads, cheese, yoghurt, dried fruit, pastries, pancakes - almost anything you might want. Tea and coffee and is available in the foyer throughout the day (no facilities in room). I found a welcome bottle of water in my room each day.
All the staff including cleaning and kitchen staff were friendly, helpful and polite. This is an ideal location for exploring Lille, with the Old Town right outside and the stations only 5-10 minutes walk away. Highly recommended and excellent value.

Handy city centre hotel

Newly refurbished Ibis hotel which is ideal for a city break in Lille. I found the staff to be extremely helpful during my stay, offering advice about what to see in and around Lille. The room, whilst not overly spacious, is perfect for a short stay and I had a very comfortable bed. There was a very good breakfast on offer each morning which was included in the room price. I was able to leave my bag once I checked out in the morning as I had an evening Eurostar back to London.

I was disappointed by my stay--I had booked into the Ibis Styles closer to the old town (Centre Grand Place) but turned up at the hotel to find that they'd instead put me in the Beffroi location. The hotel admitted it was their mistake but in their view, because the hotels are the same quality and condition, they refused to give me a discount. I was very unhappy because with budget hotels like this, the ONLY thing that matters is the location, and they changed my location without asking, without warning, and without offering any recompense.

Convenient & modern hotel with very good service!

A weekend in Lille for the Paris Roubaix Sportive. Overall I enjoyed my stay. Hotel staff were approachable, helpful and spoke good english. I was pleased that they were able to accommodate my bike in a secure area and was accessible when needed. The breakfast buffet was excellent and regularly maintained. The hotel itself was ideal as it was close to Lille Eurostar (a short 10min walk), close to the centre for restaurants, shops and some tourist attractions and for reaching the Roubaix velodrome. From the hotel its about a 40min cycle, mainly on dedicated cycle paths. I had no issues with the surrounding neighborhood and the hotel is tucked away on quieter streets. But I had some minor complaints regarding my room but I didn't raise them. My original booking was for a standard double room, instead I was given a single room with a layout of the bathroom/shower on one floor and a short flight of steps to my bed area, initially I didn't mind but the sleeping area is small. It didn't help that the heating was on high making the room very warm. Having to go up and down the stairs soon become annoying and even more so after doing the Roubaix challenge. My final issue was with the shower, which kept leaking after use. The last thing you want to be doing is mopping up! Despite this I would return and recommend this Ibis but I would not let these complaints/issues be unaddressed again.

Excellent hotel but very noisy neighbourhood!

The hotel is fantastic. Even though it is a bit in the small side (facilities and rooms) it has all you need. It is very modern and clean and the staff are very nice and professional. The only problem is the neighbourhood. It is incredibly noisy and the double glazed windows make no difference whatsoever. It is in a very good location, right between the train stations and the centre of town but don't be fooled, this is only a few blocks so next time I would stay further away in a quieter area. There are too many noisy bars nearby one night we were woken up by screaming three times! And the last night there was a street party with a DJ until after midnight. You could hear the music inside the room so we had to stay up late despite leaving early the next morning. Bring your earplugs!

This hotel has a couple of downsides; no aircon (it was 27C on our stay, we left a window open at night and it was fine)and small rooms. However, the plus points are a great location, two minutes to walk to Grand Place,5 minutes to the old town and 5 minutes to Gare du Flandes (the main hub of transport in the city), which makes it a great place to explore lille from. The hotel is very clean and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would class this as a budget Hotel and as such, if that is what you require, it would be an excellent choice. I would certainly stay here again!

Very noisy hotel....

We spend only one night but it was more than enough. The room is very small and very noisy. Central heating done with old water radiator. Still efficient but very noisy because the entire night I was hearing only the water leaking into the pipes. My terrible sleep was ended at 9 a.m. by the awful noise of cleaning lady's vacuum cleaner.
The breakfast was poor (no eggs or vegetable).

In the end, it's a budget hotel therefore you can not expect too much.

The hotel has a good location for city break.

A welcoming hotel close to tourist attractions

Yes, the hotel rooms are small BUT they are very clean and comfortable...after all we were there as tourists not hotel inhabitants! Breakfast was included - more than adequate and free coffee was available from 10a.m. to 10p.m.
The hotel staff were very welcoming, extremely helpful and courteous. We blessed their command of English!
We spent 3 nights in Lille and would have no hesitation re booking into this hotel if we return.

Nice little hotel in centre of Lille

Once found (small green ibis sign outside on a side road) is perfectly located to walk to the Grand Place (2 mins) and see the sights/shops.
Breakfast buffet is only missing hot food, which was not needed - plenty of fruit, yoghurts, croissants, pan au chocolates, squeeze your own orange juice, coffees, ham, cheese etc. The only downside of this hotel was the size of our room #306). It had a double bed, but only enough space to walk around the bed, not to leave luggage out (there is a cupboard to put trolleys in). It makes good use of the space it has, with a sliding table that can go across the bed, but you do feel cramped. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, and they left a bottle of water each day for us. There is a Carrefour City just around the corner which is also open on Sundays until 1pm (great for picking up cheese, wine, beer before catching eurostar back).

Great hotel with a great location. Just be careful because there are two Ibis Styles only 10 minutes away from each other.

I was meant to book in to the other one but this one is much more modern and nicer (but you can get a full English breakfast at the other one).

The 'continental' breakfast was great. Everything you could want (except a full English breakfast).

On arrival they only got one room booking for us (i booked 4 rooms for 8 of us), but they managed to got us rooms after 30 mins waiting. The hotel was lovely, in excellent location for centre of Lille. The rooms were clean, breakfast was well supplied. In one of rooms, the bathroom was tiny, my friends had a hard time trying get into the shower cubicle, even more harder for a pregnant woman. That's only issue we can think of.

We got there late about11pm due to ferry delay , there were no car parking spaces left ,the hotel don't have many spaces outside ,the lad at reception called Lucas was very helpful , he got us a space across the road in a car park , he was very nice , our first time in France ,and in Lille ,the hotel was lovely and room very quiet , comfy bed ,breakfast buffet excellent , did us on our way to strasbourg, thanks again to Lucas and all the staff at the hotel.

Lovely clean modern hotel right in the centre of Lille with parking available (at an extra) cost. Room included a free buffet breakfast which was very nice. Perfect for a 1 night stop over. We stayed in August and would warn BEWARE OF MOSQUITOES!!! We got bitten to death as we had to leave hotel room window open - NO AIR CON.

Even at 3pm, voices from people walking down the street could be heard, cars speeding away kept me up! The size of the first room was so small that we had nowhere to put our hand luggages....but was on the quiet side of the hotel! Apart from the inefficient double glazing and the size of some rooms, the hotel is in the centre of Lille, is modern and clean, the staffs are friendly (working hard on the hotel rating); good breakfast offering fresh fruits, fresh pastries..

Comfort Hotel Opera meets the need

Tremendous location near the city center. Rooms are small, but what else is new? Free computer in lobby. Helpful staff, especially during the day. Night staffer too bureaucratic to mail a letter for me, because he'd never sold a stamp before--so waited for day staff to drop off postcard. Hotel breakfast is optional * euro add-on--so we skipped it and went to very nice mom and pop bakery just around the corner.

En revanche, situé en face d’un gros parking et avev la chambre au 2eme étage, c’était très bruyant (isolation phonique moyenne)
Pression de la douche faible
Ascenseur bruyant (et très petit) également
Ras pour le reste !

Tres bon accueil. Aussi bien a l arrivée qu au départ. Jolie chambre. Bon petit déjeuné. Un seul bémol : trop de lumière la nuit dans la chambre, malgré un rideau occultant

Personnel chaleureux, le vrai plus de cet hôtel.

Séjour excellent, personnel chaleureux et à l'écoute. Il est arrivé quelques petits inconvénients, mais qui ont trouvé solution très rapidement. Literie excellente.

Séjour très agréable à LILLE

Excellent accueil à l'hôtel, situé en plein centre du vieux LILLE, proche de la place du Général De Gaulle.
Parking payant en face de l'hôtel, retenu par la réception.
Chambre et salle de bain très propres.
Personnel très agréable.
Séjour culturel et gastrnomique. Toutes visites à proximité.

J'avais réservé une chambre double avec lits jumeaux mais lorsque nous sommes arrivés, celle ci n'avait pas été faite. Du coup, le réceptionniste nous à donné 2 chambres dont 1 offerte. Après avoir diné au resto, 1 des 2 chambre avait été redonné à un autre client. Nous avons donc rechangé de chambre pour une deuxième fois. Les chambres sont très petites .
