Watch out for mosquitoes in the rooms

Our room was full of them, so much so, we’ve been bitten all over.
When we checked out they informed us we should have asked for a repellant, really.
If you knew they was an issue 1. We put guests in these rooms and 2. Put repellant items in there .
Shame as location was ideal

Breakfast very average, was crowded on Sunday morning, not enough seats for everyone.

Room had over a dozen mosquitoes flying around which unfortunately made sleeping a bit of a challenge. Even with balcony door closed all the time we kept finding more. Not the hotel’s fault but it spolit out time there.

It was great location and staff were very friendly and accommodated everything we needed. Considering it was close to the city it was quiet. The hotel upgraded us too as there were works happening so we never heard them or were interrupted by them. Great dinner recommendations given. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The outside of the building is remarkable. All of the staff were kind, polite and provided excellent service. I don’t think the rooms rise to a Mercure standard though. I would down grade it as an IBIS.

I have stayed in multiple ACCOR properties since 2018. I am a rewards member.

This is a nice hotel with clean rooms, pleasant staff, an excellent location and very good breakfasts. We had room 301, a ‘privilege’ room. They said it was one of their best (don’t they always!). It had a vast lovely bathroom with marble tiles and a walk-in shower. The bedroom was a bit small although looking at the hotel plan many were a lot smaller. We could have done with a king size bed. There were no comfortable chairs - just sit up ones and it would be good to have drawers each side of the bed as well as the large storage cupboard. The single tiny lift is inadequate for a hotel with over 120 bedrooms. These days I think hotels should have facilities on both sides of the bed for charging phones. Having said all that I would stay there again.

We found the food in local restaurants heavy with excessive cheese plonked on everything but did not book for any of the posh restaurants. Excursions were easy and we loved The Swimming Pool museum and LaM with its outsider art collection (although it did have a bit of an end o f the season feel - only one map left!).

Don’t stay here. Location is nice but management was poor. No A/C as advertised. Complained FIVE TIMES to front desk and was told they would find a “solution.” Never did. I wasted the day and paid almost $500 euros for two nights and never slept a wink because it was so hot. Poor customer service. All I wanted was to move to a different room where the A/C worked.

My room was excellent for one person, my friends who were couples, found their rooms a little cramped, with no drawers for putting things away. The breakfast situation was quite chaotic, but all the staff were excellent. One couple were greatly plagued by mosquitoes in their room. This was rectified with a spray, but it was a shame as one of the couple reacted very badly and had to seek medical help.

This beautiful hotel building is fabulously located in Lille’s historic centre. Only a few steps away from the city’s grand square. Practically everything is within walking distance. Hotel staff really friendly, nice relaxed atmosphere, decent and ample buffet breakfast. Nice lobby area to chill between trips out. Rooms clean. Love the bedroom grand balcony windows. Would I stay again... yep for sure.

The location is excellent. The room was comfortable. The plastic water cups broke and the hot beverage cups were flimsy. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. They gave good advice and were very welcoming. We stayed for eight days and have no regrets about staying there.

Pleasant stay apart from a warm room

I’ve stayed in the hotel on numerous occasions over the years as it’s situated in the centre of the city, close to a car park and has everything you need for a one night stay. The check-in was quick and easy and the room was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The night I stayed in Lille was very warm and so I opened the doors to the balcony to let some air in. The road to the front of the hotel became quite noisy between 11pm and 1am with cars racing by sounding their horns. I ended up closing the doors to the balcony to keep the sound out but then the room became very warm and I couldn’t sleep very well. I don’t know if it’s the result of poor air conditioning. Everything else was fine with a comfortable bed and a bar which was open late.

Nice hotel located in the city center and walkable from the train station and right in the old City center. Friendly staff nice and a nice lobby. The weather was on the warm side during our trip and air conditioning didn't seem to do much if anything. It was a nice hotel and would stay there again.

Very disappointed with this hotel. The room was incredibly small. The bathroom door couldn't fully open due to the bed. You couldn't get into the shower without climbing over the toilet and if over 6ft tall you'll bang your head. The air con was next to useless. Very poor choice at breakfast and not enough seating either.

If travelling to Lille avoid and stay in the Novotel next to Flanders. Bigger rooms, good air con and great breakfast.

From the lift to the bedroom, this hotel caters for small people only! No space! Rooms are extremely small, no privacy in the bathroom with a glass door. Can't even sit on the toilet properly as the wall is in the way!! Breakfast poor. Ran out of everything and it wasn't replenished quickly! Not asked if everything was ok upon departure. Location good but that's about all going for this hotel.

We had a great stay, hotel was modern and clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Room was smaller than I expected so if you're looking for space it might not be the best choice but being a corner room the bathroom ended up being really big which was a plus. Overall would recommend and go back.

No Heat, No Manager, No Help!

Hotel had no heat in the room. We ended up having to leave the hotel because room was too cold and had no other rooms available. Was told no manager was on duty. Heater blew cold air. Front desk refused to offer refund or credit.

Thanks to Hotel.com who refunded my money as a goodwill gesture. You Rock!

A great little hotel and the location is fantastic, right in the historic centre.

The lobby is very nice, the staff very friendly and the breakfast very good too.

The rooms are quite small which is fine for 1 night, but if I were staying longer I would feel a bit cramped.

The bathroom and separate toilet were equally a bit tight on space and were a bit tired in places in need of a refresh. The room didn't quite feel up to the standard of the rest of the hotel but for 1 night is perfectly good.

I would certainly recommend, but with the caveat of the rooms which may not be suitable for all.

Fab hotel.

We didn't use the other facilities in the hotel but the location is perfect. 10 mins from the station walking and right in the centre.
The hotel itself is modern clean and made for a very comfortable stay. We will be returning in spring to enjoy Lille again.
Highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, amazing staff

Second time I have stayed at this hotel, if you go to Lille you will be hard pressed to find a better location. Central to all the major sites and a short walk to many restaurants and bars. The hotel rooms were a very good size but the staff at this hotel really make the experience. Everyone is so helpful and kind, the literally go above and beyond for their guests. They even took extra special care of my 7 year old nieces two teddy bears, putting them to work and taking pictures of them all of the hotel. Its the little things that make all the difference. Also the kitchen staff were really attentive during breakfast ensuring all our needs were taken care of. Definitely would recommend this hotel if you're staying in Lille and look forward to my next stay.
