Set across from Clifford's Tower within the city walls, Hilton York offers a four-star stay in the heart of the city. Jovik Viking Centre and York Dungeon are about 500 feet away, just around the block from the hotel.

York Minster and the closest train station are within a mile. On-site valet parking is available for 25 GBP per night, and there is paid public parking nearby as well.

Lovely welcome from the girl on reception. We had a king sized room on 3rd floor looking out to Cliffords tower. Room was clean and comfortable with a coffee maker which made amazing coffee. There is a large carpark across the road which is free midnight till 8 but expensive at orher times but on par with other parking in york. There is a park and ride stop close by. Breakfast was one of the best ive ever had in a hotel. All staff helpful and friendly. Close to shops and many restaurants. Ideal location

Pretty mediocre, bathroom door didn't latch or lock at all. The noise of the cistern / radiator was very loud when trying to sleep. Also the light behind the bed didn’t work.

Bed was firm but pillows were decent. Check-in was quick and friendly. Would say it wasn’t worth what we paid at all if Im honest I expected more of a Hilton brand.

Welcoming staff, lovely room - very clean and quiet. Concierge in particular stood out in terms of customer service with excellent valet parking that was so convenien. Also being offered an unexpected mimosa at breakfast was very welcomed.
One minor issue was that the bed was so comfortable but disappointingly the pillows were too soft providing little to no support. I will know this next time and request a change - we will definitely return!

We used the valet parking £30 per day at the hotel, and the option for electric vehicle charging at the hotel for us was very good. £25 part charge (which we opted for they charged it from 38% to 100%. Breakfast was nice £15pp, and the egg station lady was a ray of sunshine and very speedy! Room cleaned well. My main moan was the mattresses, very very firm!! Which some may love, but I'm more a medium sprung girl myself so not the greatest nights sleep. Also, with being Christmas season there are parties on most evenings, with music till midnight, therefore if you like a quieter room up until midnight, maybe get a higher floor room, we were on the top floor and could still hear, not really an issue for us but something to note. I would stay here again.

I made a booking for a meeting room and 5 people to stay the night.

The meeting room was fine, apart from it was not disability accessible. You had to climb two sets of stairs to get to it. We should have been made aware of this when the booking took place
The worst part was how they dealt with my colleagues, they wouldnt let them check in until the whole party was there, even though their names were on the booking form and email.
There were issues with having our drinks in the bar on the night and putting the drinks on the roomas twe had already set up a credit card on the room their name was on the booking.

We arrived early and although I had messaged the hotel in advance to ask for an early check in the room was not available. The receptionist siad that they would send me a text message when the room was ready but we did not receive a message.
We got into the room just after 4.00 and was disappointed as there were crisps and foodstuffs on the floor from the previous occupant
We were previously told that the room was not available as it was still being cleaned yet after all of our efforts the room was still presented to us dirty.

In the morning as people are waking you can hear convos as if they’re in your room. Again, not the hotels fault.

The staff were generally good with some ‘student type’ exceptions.
The room was small with not very effective sound insulation from outside noise. The shower was terrible, very small with barely a trickle of water.
The breakfast was very good, and the evening meal was good if a little pricy.
The location is excellent within easy access to York centre etc.
Car parking is not so good, the hotel parking charges are too high.

Only given 4 stars as was disappointed as stated there is parking. There is a very limited car park and over the 4 days we stayed there we couldn’t get a space. Had to park in public car park across road with an extra £150 costs incurred. Disappointing she. We expected to be able to park. However it is a great hotel and would probably stay again if we come to York again.

The Hilton not in Paris but in York we originally arrived for a sit down before an evening adventure when we entered the room we all took mega bombs in the toilet and afterwards it was like Chernobyl in there RIP toilet as we rested Pepe and Claire and Bean and Keef explored the room and we had an enjoyable time in doing so Claire found kettle and was joyous and bean was being a turnip we later found out bean is sweary and likes to say bad words to Pepe which upset the whole family upon our entry secind time round we pressed a doorbell and someone opened door and that was cool the room had very odd lights and we couldn’t work them out pepe schlaft good but to beans distraught cause he lied and said he had no bed but he had all the bed the little smelly fool now we must talk about Keef’s sleep he was very very angry with the pillows and when we had all awoken he was going mental on them and threatened to drop kick them out of the window on to terrys tower which is haunted Keef and Pepe had a lovely shower but bean smelt really bad Claire was a bit tipsy as she had a glass of wine with her dinner which went straight to her head as she was dancing all night long it was a lovely stay and the biscuits were nice

Lovely location. Reception staff helpful on early arrival to York and we were allowed to store our bags. Unfortunately no fridge in room.

Scuffed stained inside of bath.

No hair conditioner! Had to get out the shower attempted to call reception and house keeping a few times with no answer. My son had to go down to the reception to ask for some and then it was delivered to the room by room service, this was no good not being able to get ahold of reception or house keeping via room phone let alone not having any in the room in the first place. Very disappointing.

Able to also store bags before our departure home.

The property overall was ok, I booked it for the accessibility to the town. My issue was that I booked a double room with air conditioning and prepaid to make sure it was guaranteed. Upon checking in and settling in the room I noticed there was no air conditioner, when I went to reception to inquire, the concierge told me that for the type of room I had booked, meaning double, it did not come with air conditioner. I checked the booking site and the room is listed as air conditioned. I was lied to and my family and I spent a miserable night unable to sleep or rest due to the room being beyond hot.

The room was very modern and well-appointed. We had everything we needed and the design, lighting behind bed were appealing. However, the bathroom was very small and could have used an update. The room was also quite “tight” for a family of 4. For 1-2 people it would be great. For 4, we were tripping over stuff and each other a bit. The hotel benefits from a great location, friendly and helpful staff, and convenient technology such as an app to unlock room doors. On-site parking, although limited, was a valuable feature that removed the hassle of searching for a space elsewhere.

Negatives:
The bathroom was disappointing. The towel rack was barely attached to the wall, with raw plugs visibly exposed, giving an unfinished feel. Additionally, the shower was underwhelming and did not meet the standard one would expect from a Hilton Hotel.

This was an awful hotel. Our room was boiling hot. It was dusty, desperately in need of refurbishment, with a blocked bath. So disappointed. It was expensive and I feel totally fleeced. I complained at the time and asked to be moved. They were fully booked. I’ve stayed at many Hilton hotels, but none like this - ever. Don’t waste your money. Go somewhere else.

Nice Hotel overall. Was able to use the valet service to park which was straight forward. We arrived early but the room was ready so we had an earlier check in. Room clean and glad of air conditioning as it was very hot when we went. Didn't use the restaurant or the bar but did look nice. Table lamp not working but we managed without. Tea and coffee making facilities available but is stored on a shelf under the desk so not easy to get out. Not a lot of places for clothes etc. but we were only there for 2 nights so it would only be a problem if you were staying longer. Wardrobe had iron and ironing board and large safe so not much hanging space. Only 1 shelf for other clothes.
Shower could have been better. Not very powerful and not a lot of room to move about. We paid extra for the balcony but although the view was nice, there was no privacy between us and the other rooms just a railing. When they were sitting outside they were extremely close so we ended up not sitting out there at all. A partition of some sort should be in place if you want to sit outside at the same time. This was disappointing because of the nice weather we feel we missed out, especially with the extra cost. The staff at reception were very helpful and professional. We didn't have contact with any of the other staff during our visit.
