The hotel looks very nice from the outside and in the lobby. However once in the room the furniture is very beat up. The shower did not work correctly, there was no way turn on the rai shower head and when I tried to adjust the water temperature the knob came off in my hand.
The staff was very pleasant though

Visited for 4 nights for wedding anniversary, stayed in Spinola room 1. Clean room with big TV and large bathroom. Massive bath tub with separate shower.

Professional staff, who were always on hand.

Shopping centre just across the road.

Used the metro from Bignami to get into the centre, bought a 3day travel card to get around.

This 17th century building feels grand but cosy. The addition of modern, glass, courtyard walls keep the heat in while leaving the impressive architecture visible. I enjoyed my stay and had a lovely dinner.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the barman.

Deluxe and superior roooms were beautifully appointed, spacious, and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were very nice, the Chef is notable. Excellent bar tenders, well made drinks. Hotel Staff were helpful and professional.
And the hotel was a beautifully restored historic property. For reference: We had 6 rooms, we travel monthly, we've been to Italy many times, and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you. Dawn and friends.

It's a very unique place where the service and food combination get you to return again.
The first expression telling you it's the right place to come as in entrance there were fresh flowers and friendly staff.
The bar offers you a variety of drinks with small fresh food fingers.
The restaurant was a great experience with extraordinary great risotto Milanese and main courses fish or meat all exquisite.

Needs an update and better maintenance

Our room was very large, the bed was very comfortable. However the furniture was very dated, beat up, and even falling apart.
Our bathroom seemed to be updated but only half way. I think the floor may have been raised because the sink was almost a foot too low. Also, it seemed when they renovated they used the cheapest fixtures available. There were also holes in the walls where curtains had been hung but fell. Also the towel rack fell off the wall when touched. Who does the maintenance in this place?

Treat yourself.

This is literally the most beautiful place I have ever slept in my life. The walls in the rooms I stayed in all had frescos. Aside from it's physically beauty, the staff are warm welcoming and exceptional at their jobs. I speak very little Italian, everyone I encountered was willing to switch to English. In the rooms there books with suggestions, if you have time to see the sites in Milan....but, as a I mentioned the rooms are so beautiful, you might not desire anything else to look at.

Good stay, epic breakfast room!

Our stay was good. I personally didn’t really like the room (furniture and colors looked dated and bland) but that’s just personal taste; it was spacious and clean tho and had a great night sleep. Hotel is big and grandiose and breakfast room was epic with great selection of food and nice coffee. There was construction work going on in the courtyard which wasn’t a huge issue but would have preferred if it wasn’t as there wasn’t sense of holiday or relax, what we were there for. The hotel is outside of the city in not particularly nice spot and there is nothing in the area besides shopping mall. Few mins walk to metro, about 30 mins metro ride to central Milan. Big and convenient underground carpark.

Didn't like the fact that substantial work was going on to the patios which were being ripped up and relaid and could not be used. Normally you would have expected the hotel to be closed during such major work. Also there was a fault in the fire alarm system which woke us up with loud shrilling noise from the in room alarm and continued intermiiatanly and very annoyingly from about 0830-0930. Ruined our morning!!

This hotel is really beautiful and totally unlike any other Hilton property I've ever stayed at. It was a great value for me and my friend to stay and experience a little luxury in Milan on our trip. The staff was very helpful; Francesca was especially calm and understanding early in the morning when our flight was canceled and we needed to make alternate plans with the phone. The only detractor is the distance from Milan proper. The surrounding area is a little less than pleasant, especially around the metro stop, but the park is very beautiful. On the other hand, the metro was very easy to navigate to get exactly where you need, and the front desk are more than prepared to tell you exactly what you need to do!

There’s no hot water in both of rooms during first day, we end up no shower after a long day, next morning still not fixed. The hotel changed one of our room, the remaining room end up with limited warm water for a while and totally no hot water and flush water on the morning we check out. Disappointed with the broken room facilities. This place don’t deserve a Hilton label.

We had no hot water in our room in the morning. We let the water run for quite some time but neither of us had hot water. In addition, although this is no fault of the hotel, it was Design Week in Milan. Unless you're part of this event - STAY AWAY. Everything was more expensive because of this event. Not to mention the party that was being held at the hotel that went on into the early morning. Again, part of Design Week. When I reserved this hotel, the price was quite a bit lower than it ended up being. I should have paid for it at the time of the reservation. $400 for one night is certainly not worth it.

A great place on the outskirts of Milan

Stayed here March 30- April 1, 2018. My husband had business over the weekend, and we stayed here along with our 6 month old baby. The hotel staff were all very friendly an accommodating. They set up a crib in the room, and helped with directions into the city as well as assisted with getting a taxi when we departed. Although the location is historic, the rooms have been tastefully modernized, with unique details left intact (exposed wood beam ceilings). I’d stay here again!

Go for the Suite, It is worth the money

Monza is a dump, it is dirty with poor immigrants and squalor all around. But who cares, magnificent Milano with its majestic Duomo is 20 minutes drive. And spectacular Lake Como another 45 minutes. It is a fantastic location with a terrific shopping mall across the street. The > 1,000 year old property is lovingly restored, as only the Italians can do. We extended our stay as our plans got disrupted by the earthquake in Lazio but the additional stay was worth it. The breakfast is ordinary, the housekeeping could be better. But the suite is very ample and luxurious, the parking convenient. Spend a few minutes enjoying the fantastic meeting rooms with their fantastic architecture. Take extra time and prolong your visit to Milano. An enormous surprise - we had a Chinese meal in Chinatown and this meal was one of the best Chinese food ever. Besides, Italy is very inexpensive. This is a great time to visit. A great country, terrific people, fantastic food, magnificent Milano

Here for a night after coming back from the mountain lakes before flying out of Malpensa. In a good location for driving and getting to the airport easily in the morning, but location not as nice as hoped. Both as a \"villa\" you would expect more - it was like a villa, but no sense of past grandeur - and for the price and location, not as dingy. It was in good condition, but not very contemporary.

Overall pleased with Grand Hotel Villa Torretta

We really liked this hotel, but we only had one night there and were late arriving, so we didn't get to eat in the restaurant as we would have liked to have done. We did have a problem locating the hotel, but most of that was due to a non-working GPS system. The staff members were all very nice and helpful. The hotel was having a special event that night, and up until midnight or so, it was pretty loud in our room. We went down to the bar, got a couple of drinks, and sat in the lobby. It was nice and relaxing. After the event ended, of course, the noise level was fine. We had a beautiful room that was spacious and clean. My husband had to go out to the car late and said the surrounding area is not good at night. It was fine during the day, however, and the next morning it was an easy walk to the metro station to take the subway into Milan.

The Hotel is a definite gem with its character and style very welcoming . The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. A bit warm though as no air conditioning but temperature was hitting just under 30 degrees in the day and 23-25 at night. Breakfast was delightful. All round good experience . A ten min walk to the nearest metro and very safe area even at night. Big shopping mall across the street with alternative finning available.

Didn't live up to its images.

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words and those shown certainly present this hotel in a great light, which is why we chose to stay there for the night. The exterior and the interior ground floor were very nice. However, when we got to our room, it was nothing like the pictures. As a matter of fact, there wasn't even a picture of the room we were given. It was on the top floor. When we entered the room, it smelled and felt very stuffy (air conditioner was not on). When I went into the bathroom to wash, there were long black hairs on the sink (and neither my wife nor I have long black hair).

The hotel service was very good and accommodated our request to change rooms. The area is nothing to get excited about as it is on a somewhat busy street.

Perfect stay outside Milan

In my opinion, this is the best hotel in Milan at this range of price. It looks like a boutique hotel, even they have a lot of rooms (realy spacious), but the atmosphere, the staff, the parc surroundings make you feel relaxed after a working day. Don't miss to go at La Cambusa, 3 minutes driving from hotel, a finest fish restaurant (family run business, not touristic one...).

The hotel is NOT downtown, if you are looking for the heart of Milan look elsewhere. It is amazingly beautiful and peaceful, with large grounds and Milan Nord park next door, so it is great if you want to ease into Italy. The metro is close and convenient, so travel to and from downtown is simple. A great place for kids with lots of space to run around. Nice rooms, great beds. Very happy

I ADORE Villa Toretta!

The hotel is very beautiful and our suite as well as the staff was amazing. I do agree its a bit out of the center of Milan its and easy 15 min. ride on the Metro Purple line right to the Duomo.
We had a king suite that was huge with high domed ceilings and a beautiful bath with huge tub, separate shower & lovely Etro bath products. The room and bath was immaculate and its a 17th century villa that was redone with great care right on a lovely park.

The restaurant is very delicious with fresh local cheeses and breads with a caring staff. Angelica in the restaurant is especially exceptional as was Ludovick at the front desk.

I cannot wait to go back and highly recommend the hotel for an intimate old world luxurious Italian setting.

The hotel itself is fantastic - the converted Convent is beautiful - very high ceilings with original wood beams - we also had a large living room - incredible value for what we paid. the grounds are also very nice and the restaurant deserves its Michelin star - we had 1 great dinner there and went downtown the other 2 nights.

The area around the hotel is rather industrial - there is a park which we did not visit - we went to shopping mall across the street - not much going on there. the Bignami metro stop is about 5-10 min walk from hotel - safe during day but not a good idea coming back late at night - we paid 23 Euros for a cab ride on a friday night from the Duomo back to the hotel.

A really memorable hotel

My second time at this absolutely gorgeous property. Perfect for events at Carroponte (a music venue 5 minutes walk away) and well connected to the centre of Milan via the Bignami Metro stop. The wifi is a bit of a pain and takes a bit of coordination with reception to give you access, but it's at least free once you are online. I would absolutely stay here again and can't recommend it enough!

Superior Service from a Unique Hotel

A restored abbey - staying at the Grand Villa is more like staying at a large bed and breakfast. For any standard, the rooms are large, well appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The area has its pros and cons. The hotel is surrounded by a large park and a mall with restuarants open late. But there are also industrial plants and large low-rent apartment buildings adjacent as well. The metro stop is convenient - only about a three block walk. Overall a wonderful experience for a week stay in Milan. Thanks especially to Stefano at the front desk who was like a friend we didn't want to leave.

We chose this hotel as a base for day visits to Milan and Venice. The hotel is very nice and had a mall/supermarket across the way which was convenient. We could easily take tram 31, located behind the hotel, to the subway - which then got us to Milan or the train station to visit Venice. Overall, a really nice hotel with large, elegant rooms.

Overall the hotel is good and in line with descriptions. Still some small comments:
• Noisy air conditioning that we could not switch off due to the heat mode. A hint – open a window and it will stop working
• Noisy surrounding streets during a day-time. A hint – do not open a window until necessary )).
• Better drive car / use a taxi, avoid walking in the evenings – the surrounding blocks are full of dubious people
• Not easy to find – indicated number of the building did not exist in our navigation system – please print out the directions beforehand
no TV chanells in English / Deutsch.

But again - clean, friendly, reasonable p[rices, lovely breakfasts, big rooms, free and safe parking etc.

What a wonderful relaxing place to stay. The staff is always pleasant, helpful, and welcoming. The linens are exceptional and the room was always clean. To keep the lights on, leave your room card in the card slot. Saving energy is what it is all about. You may have to call to have your air conditioning turned on. They control it. It can get expensive getting to the city in a taxi. You can use the Metro but you may have to take a taxi to get to and from the Metro. Good luck figuring out an address. The mall across the street is very convenient (grocery store inside) and the clerks are generally helpful and kind. Highly recommended.

Truly a grand hotel

This was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful park-like setting in the midst of a busy modern city. It felt like an oasis - once we found it. Directions provided by hotel site left you hanging once you found the right autostrade exit (a daunting task in itself!). And figuring out how to keep the lights on in your room was a bit tricky as well. Other than that, we felt pampered and coddled in this old world setting. Don't miss the wonderful breakfast in the frescoed dining room!

Even terug in de historie; Ontbijtfeest!

Heel lang geleden was dit een chique huis, waar veel feesten werden gehouden. Dat kan je nog zien aan de fresco's op de muren en plafonds, uit de 17e eeuw. En om daar s ¨ochtends tussen te kunnen ontbijten, dat is een unieke ervaring! (Zie foto) Het ontbijt was ook zeer uitgebreid met bijvoorbeeld zalm en een speciaal eiergerecht. De kamers zijn royaal van afmeting en voorzien van alle 4 sterren hotel luxe. Bij het hotel is een heerlijke groene binnenplaats en parkje, speciaal voor de gasten. Niet verder gaan dan dit heerlijke wandelgebied en geniet van de zomeravonden!

Avoid this hotel

The Hotel is close to a main road: very noisy. I needed earlplugs to sleep.

The window curtain doesnt filter the light of the street lamps. I needed an eye mask to sleep.

The room has a wooden roof, with birds singing and strolling: also this disturbed my rest hours.

The bathroom was super-hot heated; had to close the door to avoid the heat wave.

The menu of the restaurant is very limited and very expensive.

But one thing really disappointed me: the receptionist was very rude in my opinion. This is completely unacceptable.

The hotel was very charming and elegant. The location is not bad, and a bit isolated but very quiet. And the room was spacious and specially the bathroom was so nice. I could stay there for a bath tub in peace. I recommend this hotel strongly.

Soggiorno di lavoro in uno splendido hotel appena fuori Milano. Unico neo la temperatura troppo alta in camera prontamente risolta dal personale dell'hotel cordiale disponibile e molto competente.

Camera molto bella, letto confortevole, se dovessi passare di nuovo in quella zona per lavoro ci tornerei...

Molto gradito il parcheggio incluso sia coperto che scoperto all'interno della struttura.

Dans la crise du coronavirus, l’hôtelier a refusé de me faire un avoir. Je ne demandais pas le remboursement de mes réservations, juste un avoir valable un an !!!
