We liked the parisian neighborhood, far from the tourist crowd. Only detail the Hotel NH Paris Opera Faubourg was in was in reform, so few amenities. The staff friendly and helpful, many brasseries close by, same with metro stations

Lifts were broken!!

Such a disappointing stay.
It’s an okay hotel but not really up to usual NH standards.
Staircases are dangerous, as is ceiling down to the breakfast room.
On the first day, one lift was broken and then on the second day, the tiny staff/spare lift also broke.
I was in the 3rd floor and my colleague on 6th floor - if anyone had a walking disability, it would have been impossible to remain or stay here.

The location is great but the hotel itself is old and tatty. It's got a funky scent and the carpet in the room can do with replacement.
The hotel is not up to NH standard and I stayed in a few of them. Time for renovations for sure. Room is small and so is the bed. Staff is very friendly but I would not stay there again.

Stayed here many times and never sleep, rooms are too noisy and way to hot now that the air con has been taken away. If you open the windows all you can hear is traffic noise and smells car fumes and smoke. Earplugs need to be provided and bring the air con back please.
Rooms also have a mould smell and are never dusted properly. Bulbs and broken shower door glass need replacing.

Friendly staff and great location. Not my first stay so feel like a home from home. Unfortunately the previous guest had used the alarm clock and it hadn’t been reset.
I was woken up at 6am by the alarm.
My superior room had two single beds pushed together, usually find in other hotels but the beds moved and I would fall in between. I had to sleep on one side, very uncomfortable and a wasted of bed.

I think the property was okay. In the area, there are very few people, and food options are kind of limited, depending on the time. The wifi also wasn't working very well, therefore making it very difficult to stay connected.

Pros:

My room was a good size, with a very comfortable bed and a big balcony that faced rue la Fayette.

Although early check-in was not available, the front desk was able to hold my carry-on bag for me until I could check-in.

Location was close to so many places to eat and within a 20 minute walk of the Louvre, Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Opéra Garnier, The Galeries Lafayette.

Cons:

The staff was very nice but I was disappointed with the service. Check-in should’ve been at 3pm so I came early to drop off my bag. When I returned at 5pm my room was still not ready.

I put the sign on my door so that housekeeping would not clean my room (to save energy/water) but when I asked the front desk for additional drip coffee - they said the only way to get it was from housekeeping so they couldn’t help me because I asked for my room not to be cleaned.

The shower is quite small, which was perfect for me but would probably be difficult for a larger person. The water temperature was hard to control, it was either cold or scolding hot.

Overall rating:

The room was very comfortable. GREAT bed. The building didn’t have amenities except for free wifi. Not sure how it was rated as a 4-star but it was still decent.

This is the first negative review I have ever left for a property. I feel bad but I have to do it. There was water damage on the ceiling. Stains on the walls. A small amount of ants on the bed and in the bathroom. The bathroom was tiny but that I did not mind. What I did mind was the stains in the bathtub. The curtain rod that was bolted to the ceiling, was hanging from the ceiling which made it impossible to open the window fully without risking the whole rod falling out. There was exposed sheet rock from where the curtain rod was hanging. Could not turn the air conditioning on because there was so much dust inside of it which left the room stuffy. Room was dark as there were only two lamps and no overhead light. Extremely cramped overall.

Trip of a lifetime.

For us it was in the middle of the action. We could walk to food, green grocer, shopping, jazz you name it. A 20€ cab ride took us everywhere else we wanted to go. Metro took us to the left bank. Can’t wait to go back.

How should i start?

Cleaning less... first room i got was dirty simply dirty in way you would not expect.during Covid

Service terrible. Was wrongly charged. Staff was simply not nice .. actually one of the staff that did not helped me seem to be nice a guy but tje lady and her manager were rude

Internet impossible to connect . Tried 3 différents devices . Restarted. Everything i could try to make it work ... when i called to get help the answer was i dont know what to tell you...

Great location: close to Gare du Nord and several Metro stations, plenty of good restaurants and grocery stores around. Very friendly staff. Room is very clean and the bathroom looked like it’s been recently renovated. I would go again. There was only a strange smell in the lobby that I couldn’t figure out, which is no big deal but rather strange considering the overall cleanliness of the property. Nice hotel

great hotel

Great location right between gare du nord and the Garnier opera, we stayed here during transport strikes and luckily most places were within walking distance. Staff were friendly, room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, plus a view of the Eiffel Tower topped it off.

We had a nice stay. The receptionist were all very nice. But we were surprised that whilst the coffee satchets were being replaced every day the bottle of water was not! When we asked the receptionist we were informed that it was management policy not to replace the bottle of water for each extra day the guest stayed. So when we came back to the hotel late at night after a show, we were expected to manage with 1 bottle of water from the fridge which was chargeable between the two of us or fill water from the tap in the toilet which we were not keen to do! I have not found this attitude in any other hotel and I was shocked at this pettiness all for less than 1 Euro!

Except for the cold reception at the Front Desk when we checked in, everything was fine. The highlight was the bedding and room linen which were very comfortable.
Breakfast was mediocre although the service staff there were much warmer and nicer than the front office assistants.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the neighborhood was close enough to a lot of things. The hallways are very narrow, so it would be hard for someone with mobility issues. I would definitely stay again!

Great hotel. Stayed the weekend, and it was quite noisy during the evening/early morning but that's to be expected in a busy area of the city. Only negative is that the shower wasn't great, and the room is quite small but for a weekend away (only used for sleepig and getting ready) the rooms are more than adequate. Most importantly the rooms were clean and accessible to everywhere I needed to go in Paris!

This hotel loTcation is perfect! You are in the area that is central to so much. It is clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond our expectations! They were very polite and accommodating to all of our needs. The room wasn't huge, but from my understanding most hotels in Paris are smaller then American ones. However, it was perfect for our needs for the week! Totally recommend if you need a clean comfortable no big frills room for your trip. The neighborhood has a ton of great cafes around it. We had a balcony and you could see the top of the Eiffel tower from it.

Stuck in the 1980s

To be fair, the room had been refurbed and was OK, although the safe didn’t work and there was no pen or pad which I needed.

But the rest of the hotel was firmly stuck in the 1980s... from the creaking elevator to the quirky furniture and awful decor in the communal areas. My office is around the corner but I won’t stay there again.

Checked in after long flights and was pleasantly upgraded to a room with a bath by the friendly and professional staff. The hotel's location is excellent for Paris with buses and Metro locations within minutes. There are also plenty of great restaurants within 10 minutes walk. The room was comfortable and well equipped and housekeeping kept it so throughout my stay. I can highly recommend this hotel and will probably return when I visit Paris again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. When we check in our first impression of the lobby that it looked dated and I thought this was supposed to be a 4 Star hotel I guessed wrong. The Hallway to the rooms are very dark hard to see where you are going. Our first room looked like it wasn’t clean for MONTHS! Stains on the carpet everywhere, was afraid we were going to get fungi on our feet. The smell of the room was so bad you can’t even be in the room for long without gagging. The wall paint was peeling off and in the bathroom had mold EVERYWHERE. The room was very small you can’t move especially with two big staircases. We came back after exploring Paris to find ourselves we couldn’t go to sleep the smell was giving us a headache. We tried call the front desk no answer so we figured to go downstairs to change rooms. We waited for 10 minutes no elevator so we had to take the stairs 5 flights of staris at 12 am and we had to go back up after taking to the reception. The guy downstairs was understanding and gave us a room not too far from the other room. The second room did not smell, and the carpet was still dirty but what can you do. The bathroom did have mold and the really bad smell maybe the smell is from the mold, who knows! The rest of the stay was okay but our first impression ruined our stay. This hotel is falling apart, it definitely needs a renovation then it would be a 4 Star hotel its more of a 1 Star. The only thing I would give this hotel is the price, THAT IS IT!
