Not worth the price, hidden charges

Normal hotel more like 3 stars, with hidden charges and bad comunication. We reserved for 2 adults and 2 kids and they charged us with an extra hoat ib theblast minute, a verybexpensive extrahost. They didnt care about our opinikns. Also wenhad to continually ask for kitchen stuff. Mybwofe to a coffe in the lobby, which looked like a receptikn coffe and they crahed us fornthe cofee!!!! No worth the price and beware of hidden charges.

We had a nice stay at Acacia. It is in a less touristy neighborhood but just a block from the Metro so it was convenient to get around. The front desk staff was excellent and very helpful. The restaurants in the area were patronized by locals and very authentic. Our favorite was O Retornino. There's a small kitchen but you need to ask for a kettle and there was only an Spanish coffee maker that we did not know how to use. Also the shower was part of a tub enclosure and was difficult to step in and out of. Overall we had a nice 2 day stay.

Property is in desperate need of renovation it’s old and reminds me of hotels in the 80s in Spain. On arrival I was told coffee is available in lobby so the next morning down I come as there’s NO Tea and coffe in apartment which I find bizarre for a so called 4* rated, only to find no capsules for the machine when I enquired was informed €1 for a capsule. I have stayed in many 4* properties and this is not.

The apartment was a good size for the two of us but would be cramped if another person was using the sofa bed. Exceptionally clean and serviced each day. All staff were friendly especially Jasmine the receptionist. Our apartment was at the back so a bit dark but cool. The pool was more of a plunge pool but great to cool off on the roof terrace. Very central, metro few yards up from the apartment, great cafes and an Aldi just up the road. We walked to all the major sights as directed by Jasmin who provided a street map and circled all the main attractions. Great service, really helpful and welcoming staff team. The only downside was the roof terrace didn’t open till 10.30, would have been nice to go up early morning for a dip in the pool to start the day

Ok. Let's make this clear. I didn't stay at the Acacia Suites. Due to Covid-19 it was closed. I was transferred to another hotel in the same group, Ako Suites.

I arrived very late at the hotel but it does have a 24 hour front desk, very helpful.

I thought that it was going downhill after this. The system was down and he actually had to go to a room to ensure it was ready. No the best. Then when i get to the room, there is the unmistakable smell of smoking in the room. I couldn't go back down to reception, i was too tired. I have come across this with Spanish hotel rooms before. Windows open. By morning it was loads better.

The room was spacious. Nice little kitchen area with a microwave and a hob. A kettle would have been nice but i made do.

Bed was ok. Could've been a bit softer but it did. Bathroom with over bath shower was ok but it would have been better with a mixer tap, just for convenience.

I thought i was the only person in the place. There was no restaurant because of restrictions in the city. I visited the supermarket for food next day. Aldi is basically beside the hotel.

Housekeeping came in everyday and were wonderful.

You can't really judge hotels at the moment but this one was fine. I'd stay here again with no complaint.

Perfect place to relax

Acacia Aparthotel is the best place we felt ourself home, starting from the reception staff, they were very friendly and helpful, the room is very well organised and clean. The hotel doesn’t have room service but they offer their help to provide any market staff, the housekeeping is very fast . Hotel location is pretty good ... beside the metro and lots of 24h supermarket and restaurants are around!!! I like this place and recommend it to couples who wish to enjoy calm and peace. Thank you Acacia to lake our stay enjoyable😊🌈

EXCELLENT Location! Located in a very clean and quiet area of the city. Close to many great shops and restaurants. Walking distance to city bus tour, and marketplaces. Staff was outstanding and friendly. The hotel is extremely clean. Beds were comfortable and our room was wonderful. Loved the rooftop pool and lounge area. Nice views from the rooftop. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location, very close to metro and 20min walk to Le Rambles. Only 20min taxi journey from airport (train can be used instead). Staff at reception were very helpful and friendly, helping with any queries such as how to get to where we were going. Apartment was very nice, clean and spacious and furnished to a good standard. They let us store our luggage as we arrived early. No problems with the Wi-fi.
Negatives - they wanted to store my details in order to collect the compulsory tourist tax at the end of our visit. We would have preferred to just pay it up front, there was no need to hold my card details, this option should have been offered. On the other side of our bathroom window was a cleaners store room and although the glass was frosted/obscured, it was still possible to clearly see through it.
Cable TV had no English speaking channels.

Hot room (No airco) and loud toilet sounds

This Apartment hotel is at a good location near the metro station \"Hospital Clinic\" which was very nice. What I didn't like was that the room was very hot when we checked in. There was no air conditioning (One of the staff also said they don't have). But on Expedia in the section \"room amenities\", there is air conditioning and In-room climate control stated. Only in-room climate control was available, which didn't help. The only solution was to open the window for fresh air and a colder room.

A very annoying thing was the toilet sounds coming from other guest rooms. When they flushed the toilet, you can hear the loud water noise through the pipes. A note to the hotel: Please check the bed sheet thoroughly next time. We saw some molds there. Or something similar that looks like mold (Black dots on the sheet). But the rest of the room was clean.

Also, the hotel staff knew I paid via Expedia when I checked in. But he charged me twice for the stay. Fortunately, they refunded the money fast when I saw that a few days later and called the hotel. TIP: you don't need to give them your creditcard when asked. It is not necessary. The fee per day per person can be paid by cash.

stayed at this hotel 11 years ago and now it is in need of updating. Area good - but apartments looking worn and tired. Late to give us check in - the cooking rings did not work so could not make tea or coffee. Have now stayed in better accomodation. Our room had constant water noise as well. room 103.

The hotel in general is very pleasant. It's actually an apartment converted to a hotel room.
The room is huge and very clean. It has kitchen, a living room with a sofa and a bedroom.
The problem is that the walls are not very well insulated. We could hear the flush of toilet
from upstairs.

I would recommend it.

We were very happy with our stay a Acacia Suites. The suite was basic but very comfortable, and the stovetop and kitchen items were very helpful. We only stayed one night and would have returned later in our trip when we returned to Barcelona, but they were sold out by the time we tried to reserve. The location is also exceptionally convenient for access to the Metro. The only possible negative was that the bedroom and living room wall did not go all the way to the ceiling, so that light and sound from the living room area could drift into the bedroom, but it was not a problem for us.

Terrific time I Barcelona. Gustavo was great!

The hotel is located on a busy steeet. That said, it was very quiet. Gustavo had the living room window unlocked so we could get air easily in the room. The bed was great, but we would have liked a king size mattress. Only thing that needed improvement was the shower head attached to the wall. If you get room 602 and it's still in disrepair complain. Otherwise clean, safe, and comfortable. Housekeeping was very good.

Lovely apart hotel close to the metro & restaurant

The room was ready early as we arrived before check in time. The staff were pleasant, spoke English and very helpful.
The hotel itself and the rooms were exceptionally clean and the bed was super comfortable (firm - the way we like it) There is so much to do in Barcelona and it is easy to get around from this location. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and outdoor cafes were the food is always so delicious.

I was not satisfied by a window not closing properly, but the gentlemen at the reception was very amiable and gave me another room, which was perfect. They also gave me indications on the best route to reach touristic objectives I was interested in. Overall I was very pleased with my stay at Accacia Suites.

We were only in Barcelona for a few days, wanted to be close to the sites but not pay a fortune for the opportunity, the Acacia Suites fit the bill. There was no view from our suite in fact the window had a film on them so you couldn't really see out, if you peaked you could see the alley and the building beyond, not really anything you would want to see. The room was very quiet, the subway was close by if you wished to use it and there were many places to eat close by.
The room had everything you could want in it, we did have a hard time finding some of the light switches but eventually found them all. The reason I gave it a 3 for cleanliness is that the carpet really could have used a cleaning, other than that the place was fine.

Nice hotel in a nice area.

The room we were in had a small kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave and dishes. The pull out bed for the third person was a bit narrow, but okay. The room was comfortable and clean, and within walking distance of the Gothic quarter, although we needed a taxi when it rained really hard. There is a metro station close to the hotel too.

This hotel is a good value because you get a room that's twice as big as the average hotel room in the city, but you pay the same price. It's very close to the metro. I if you want to save, you can also walk about 30 minutes to the main fashion street and the Sagrada familia basilica. the neighbourhood is safe in the evening because there are restaurants patrons eating outside till late. There are also a McDonald's and several convenience stores nearby to stock up snacks and water.

The staff was extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The suggestions that they made for dining were extremely good. Many choices of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The staff was always pleasant, but never pushy. I felt like they were there to help us. Each of the clerks at the desk spoke English very well. With no one in our group speaking Spanish it really made our stay easier.

Perfect place for first time in Barcelona.

We stayed one night before our cruise and 3 nights afterwards. The Hotel is in a nice quiet area of the city, but only a 2 minute walk to the Metro. The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks English. We arrived before our room was ready, but Monica locked up our luggage so we could explore the city immediately . Familia Segrada was only 3 stops away on the Metro. When we returned, we met Gus. Gus is the star of the hotel. Need a reservation, taxi, directions, tickets ? No problem. He recommended a restaurant and it was perfect. To the right of the hotel are plenty of places for tapas. To the left are some very good small restaurants. All very convenient. On the right, two blocks up, is the perfect place to have your coffee and morning pastry. If this is your first trip to Barcelona, this is your place. Oh yes, the rooms are clean, modern and huge. The cruise port was only a 15 Euro taxi ride away.

This is a small, intimate hotel with a very caring staff. Our suite had two rooms and a large bathroom. We didn't cook, but pots and pans and silverware are provided. The room was off the street and very quiet. The Metro stop (L-5 Hospital Clinic) was only a hundred yards or so from the front door. There are many bakeries close for an inexpensive breakfast and many restaurants in the area. Enjoy!

The hotel was very comfortable and accomidating. We had a family of 5 adults and wanted a place where we could all stay together. It was close to the hop on bus which we used for touring. We were boarding a Cruise ship later the next day and the staff allowed us to keep our luggage there after we checked out so we could tour Barcelona before boarding the ship.

The front desk staff were very helpful. Good location as you are just steps away from the metro which was a pleasure to use. Very clean. The kitchenette was smaller than what we expected with minimum supplies. We asked for a toaster and a few other items which were delivered within a few minutes. The Wi-Fi worked well.

We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at Acacia Suites throughout our stay. The room was well furnished and comfortable with the room cleaned everyday. The hotel is located close to restaurants for eating out locally, and supermarket and shops allowing you the option of self catering. There are banks close by and the Metro station is a short walk. This made it very easy to go out and explore the city by train as well as walking around the sights. Overall Acacia Suites is a very good hotel for staying in Barcelona as its in a quiet location and has a good service which makes you feel at home.
Barcelona is a very beautiful city but always beware of pickpockets! I would suggest keeping hand luggage to a minimum especially when going to busy central areas. Even in quiet tourist areas we were squirted green smelly liquid by bystanders claiming it as bird droppings and 'conveniently' provided with tissues. They are thieves and will try and pickpocket you, so if this does happen to you, don't follow them and don't allow them to clean you with their tissues and keep hold of your valuables. Just walk away. Otherwise Barcelona is a great friendly city to explore with a great beach.

Close to metro

The room was quite large for a European hotel and having some kitchenette facilities made it possible to make our own meals a few nights which helped us keep our trip within budget. It was a bit noisy on the weekend but it didn't affect our sleep. The staff were friendly and happy to assist us with questions relating to our travel plans or regarding the room. They also arranged to check us in an hour early even though I had forgotten to request it when I booked the room on Expedia.

Although not particularly close to a lot of the tourist sites the metro is only steps away and there are a lot of excellent places to eat or to grab coffee nearby. Many sites are only 3 or 4 metro stops away. The neighbourhood is nice and we always felt safe.

This was a great hotel. It was in a great location for exploring Barcelona. It was a very pleasant surprise and the hotel staff was very helpful with maps of the area and things to do.

Acacia aparthotel is a wonderful and comfortable hote with great and helpful staff very close to Hospital Clinic metro station that connect to other line,There are lots of café and restaurant and supermart within walking distance of good value,Will certainly be back when visiting again,We have a real good stay,

Lovely to have an apartment , the Staff couldn't have been more helpful. This was well located, 20 mins walk to centre or a couple of minutes on the Metro, good value and great for an extended break

Nice hotel close to everything

The hotel is above cafés and restaurants where we had breakfast everyday for a local price, there is also a spar shop very very close. the metro station is amazingly close where we used it all the time. Also Close to the square where we took the touristic bus. Few little things that would not stop me to go back, the FREE WIFI is not very good in the bed room, the twin style of beds making the double bed I don't like it but my feed back to the hotel was really promising, the kids sofa beds where a bit old fashion but they slept with no complaints, on demand they got us whistling kettle and iron/board. Taxi from the airport € 40.00 with tips midnight time.
No doubt would go back but would look first for another lushy hotel for the same price if I can find one but if not will definitely book it.

fantastic location, outside of the hectic centre but close enough to get anywhere in 15 mins on the metro. Fantastic staff, clean accomodation, felt completely safe wandering the streets. Restaraunts and bars nearby. Great for singles, couples & families alike.

Great location!

I liked this location because they were close to the metro, restaurants and the market. I liked that there is a functional kitchen and amenities for cooking my own meals (cooktop, refrigerator, dishes, etc.). The staff were friendly. I also liked that wi-fi is free. I did not like that there were no English channels or on site restaurant. Room cleaning was sometimes slow but it is a small hotel. I would recommend.

Great location, 50m walk to the Metro to access anywhere in the city but far enough away so as not too busy. Staff very helpful, room cleaned everyday and never disturbed us

air conditioning was turned off because other guests complained it was to cold. windows were locked closed i had to beg them to unlock the windows but then the street noise was very loud.no breakfast in the area. if you go check about the air conditioning

Great Staff! Great Location!

The staff were all courteous and helpful. Room very comfortable. Unfortunately, free wi-fi was part of the package, but we did not have wi-fi for three days. If we had been traveling on business, this would have been a big inconvenience.

5 nights during La Merce festival

Fantastic, very easy check in, we were givin a room on the 4th floor and a list of free services the hotel offer and weather we would like to use them or not. The room was spacious, little kitchenette, huge bathroom and bedroom was a great size. The bed was very big and comfortable. We stayed during the La Merce festival, there were thousands of tourists in Barcelona the streets were full we liked the position of the hotel, just that little bit away from all the crowds and easy to get to by train if you didn't want to walk the 20-30 min to La Rambla. Room was cleaned daily and the cleaning staff were fantastic, they even do your dishes if you leave any.....good value hotel.

Great apartment hotel near Metro

Location was convenient to getting around Barcelona on the Metro. Hotel rooms were large with kitchen. No frills service - had to buy napkins and water etc but these are cheap. Client rooms. Very helpful staff. Free wifi in rooms. Nearby area had some over-priced eating options but a short 5 minute walk in either direction would give you more 'non-tourist' options. Metro is very close by (except if you take the bus from the airport where you are dropped off at the other station at the end of the street which is more like a 15 minute walk to the hotel vs the 2 minute from the other line - hospital clinic).
