We arrived late and there’s no indication where to go for the hostal level (it’s one floor up).
The room was clean and the beds comfortable.
The air con unit wasn’t on or working (no power to it) and the fuses were all fine. Normally I’d ask at reception but as we were only at in the room for 10 hours, we just opened the windows.
It’s very loud owing to the major road outside but that’s the downside of convenience.
All staff were kind. We skipped breakfast but opted for amazing croissants at the bakery to the right of the building. A really nice supermarket is to the left.
We wouldn’t stay here on a normal trip but for a single night with a midnight arrival, it was worth the cons at the favourable price.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Aslyp 114. Staff were very kind and friendly. Honestly Anna and Joseph treated us like their own family. I had trouble buying tickets for a day tour to Andorra. Anna helped me buy the tikets. If it wasn't because of her hard efforts we would have missed that opportunity. Hotel is located in a nice area of Barcelona near bus station and metro. It is very clean and friendly staff are ready to help you in any way they can to make your stay better. Breakfast was good and if you plan to leave the place before dinning area is open for breakfast, they pack you a to go bag. We enjoyed our visit there very much and hope to stay there again.

We only stayed a night here as we were headed to the airport the next morning. However, the service was excellent and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The Hostal is located in a great part of town with plenty of great shopping and food options close by.

This “hostel” is more like a full service hotel, with a personal family touch flair added... my partner and I had a wonderful stay here for 4 nights in Barcelona, and every staff member there treated us like one of their family members. The owner, Anna, is so sweet and was full of helpful information re: things to see in Barcelona. If we are ever back in the city this will be where we go, no questions asked!

You Will Love This Place
Hotel Aslyp 114 provides the perfect blend of personality and professionalism. We enjoyed several days here, next to bus stops, restaurants and food market. Breakfast was great with summer ripe fruits in addition to all the usual. Help with sight seeing and printing out tickets. But the best was the outgoing personality of Anna and the helpfulness of Josep, as well as other great staff.

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Dedicated owners expressed interest and made valuable suggestions. Sold city bus 10-ticket package and assisted with sight tickets. Location was ideal in the middle of Barcelona and steps from transportation. Grocery at the corner and Hostal Aslyp 114 had common area to eat and fridge for guest use. Clean, bright, aircon, lift, 24 hour desk attendant, free coffee, great breakfast variety. Very safe neighborhood.

All the rooms are on the second floor of the building, and reception and the breakfast area are just outside your door. It's an odd setup, but it works. The rooms are spotless and modern, and the noise from the street is minimal -- mine was surprisingly quiet. The continental breakfast buffet is truly outstanding, with croissants, toast, jamón serrano, pa amb tomàquet, tortilla, fruit, and plenty more besides. My only complaints were the bed, which could have been a bit firmer, and the shower, which inevitably got water all over the bathroom floor. The place is a bit hard to find because there's no sign on the street.

Hotel is clean and modern. Room felt brand new - basic but spotless. The owner and staff are what make this hotel stand out. They are wonderful and the included breakfast was enough to skip lunch everyday (they also accommodated my gluten-free request as another reviewer mentioned). The coffee machine is complimentary and available 24 hours. It’s not just a coffee pot., it’s an automated espresso, macchiato, cappuccino machine - and quite good. Recommended!

This small hotel is a gem. You arrive as guests and leave as friends. The decor is bright, fresh and modern and furnishings are minimalist but practical and functional. Important things like the bed, are very comfortable. The shower is powerful with limitless hot water. The room is spotlessly clean. What sets this hotel apart is the friendliness and warmth of the welcome. Reception is staffed 24hrs and everyone is extremely helpful with directions, transport information, places to see etc. A very tasty buffet breakfast is included in the price and the coffee machine in the breakfast room is always on. You can return after a night out at 1 or 2 in the morning and if you want a quality coffee before going to bed, then it's there at no charge. There are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants of all sorts in the area. Buses to the city centre and the beaches stop right outside and the nearest Metro station is 5-10 minutes walk away. La Rambla is a 25 minutes walk. The trendy bars of the Universitat area are 15 minutes walk. This hotel is perfect for a stay in this wonderful, lively, vibrant city. We would love to return to Barcelona, and it will certainly be to this hotel

First of all: the staff at this hotel are super friendly, charming and eager to help you. They really make your stay. The hotel itself was clean, quiet and the room was a decent size (for Europe). The location is good and felt safe and although not in a touristy area it has good connections by bus or subway. Right beside the hotel is an excellent bakery and a small grocery store.The included breakfast was tasty with a Spanish omelette, juices, cheese and cold cuts, toast, etc. and the coffee was excellent; the cafe con leche kept me coming back for more! We really enjoyed our stay; thank you!

Ana and Robert handled it extremely professionally and I really appreciate it. For the rest of the stay, we couldn't have asked for more. A quite assorted breakfast bar constantly being replenished, a nice bright and clean room with enough space for our luggage, very stable wifi connection, and comfortable beds.
In addition to that, Aslyp is away but still close enough of the tourist areas (tourist traps) like \"La Rambla,\" The Gothic Quarter, La Barceloneta, etc.

There is a bus number 59 just outside of the hotel that takes you to the center of Barcelona. On Diagonal avenue near the hotel, there were so many shops and restaurants.

There were 4 couples spending one night following a cruise. The only thing I could suggest is possibly some better signage to enter the hostal as it is on the second floor of a building. The staff were lovely, very knowledgeable, accommodating and helpful. Staff called for large taxis to take us to the airport in the morning. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, extra pillows provided on request. We were leaving a little early before breakfast started but the staff put yogourt, fruit, cereal, bread to toast, juices and coffee for us to have. Access to computer. Couldn't have asked for more. Would definitely recommend and would return again if going to Barcelona.

It is a small hotel (11 rooms) with very friendly staff. We stayed a week in room no.1. This room is rather large and quiet. Windows cannot be opened but there is good air conditioner. Each night garbage collector vehicle arrives outside, but since windows are closed it is not too disturbing.

I arrived mid-morning. I was expected and confirmed that the hostal staff could keep my bag whilst I went off exploring. I was offered coffee and cake and the opportunity to refresh myself. I was given a map and directions, and escorted to the busstop. The hostal is on the first floor in a residential district with good bus routes in to the city centre and the beach (just stay on it). The hotel was clean and breakfast was very generous with lots of cereals, cheeses, hams, croissants, bread, toast, fruit, fruit juice, jams etc. Tea and coffee were always available. The staff told us local directions, guided us to excellent restaurants and explained how to get from one location to another in the most efficient way. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return.

On our first trip to Barcelona we were a little concerned with hotel selection, however, after a little online research, we booked at ASLYP 114. And definitely was a great choice. Since the first moment, Josep and Ana made us feel at home and with their valuable comments and recommendations, we could enjoy an excellent experience in the charming and magical Barcelona. Although the facade, entryway, elevator/stairs were dark and uninviting, once we entered the second floor hostal, we were very please with our find. Everything was fine. We especially like the wifi that lacked a \"agreement welcome page\", which allowed my more finicky computer to access the internet. And also the extremely helpful and friendly staff were wonderful. This place was a surprise jewel.

Very nice overnight stay starting a week at the beach. Breakfast was valid. Service was great for a minimal 11 room \"hotel\". Treated very well, with English language support, too. Wifi was perfect, but no phone in the room.
It is worth coming here, so you need to know what to look for. You are looking for a simple doorway to an apartment building at 114. No sign, no clue, because the residents like it that way. Not a typical hot breakfast but we enjoyed the cereal selection and the pastries and the fruit salad was made from scratch...not out of a can.. Good breakfast, clean room, and truly outstanding service. Better experience than I've had in some hotels 2-3 times the cost. Be aware that it's on the first floor in a building of flats so you need to go to the street address and then buzz 3a so they will let you into the building. (I mistakenly walked passed it initially as I was looking for a large illuminated sign near ground level.)

This hostal was a great find. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the plentiful breakfast was a bonus. It's well located, a bus stop outside,a short walk to the metro and the main train station a few minutes down the street ( the best way to get to the airport). It's a very modern interior, my only minor complaint is the bathrooms had electric pumps which could be disturbing at night/early morning. Otherwise perfect.

Firstly you have to realize that this is a 2 star Hotel. Their floor level is on level 3 and you must get buzzed in from the outside to get inside. From the airport it takes about 25 minutes on a taxi and about 50 min via bus.
The Hotel's best asset/attribute is Ferdie! He basically does everything there and is there on a DAILY basis. Ferdie was very polite and courteous during our recent 7 night stay. Unfortunately for him he must not go to bed until EVERY guest is accounted for, now the owners will say it is not a problem for guests to come in at night but this means Ferdie will only get 2-3 hours of sleep. I advise future guests to at least tip Ferdie if you are coming in after 11P.M.

This \"hostal\" was a true find. It is located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, which is my favorite area to stay. A short walk from the Rambla de Catalunya with its terraced cafes, the wide boulevard Diagonal, and Passeig de Gracia with its beautiful Gaudi homes, one can easily access all major attractions of the city by bus or by foot. The bus station is directly outside the hostal, and they sell bus tickets at the hostal or in the nearby Tabac. It is a simple, clean space with outstanding continental breakfasts included in the price of your room. If you want luxury, this is not for you. But if fit the bill for me perfectly. There are no cupboards for putting clothes, but ample space in the room to place items and an open closet with many hangers. The bathroom is adorable with beautiful black and white tile and a nice, hot shower. Rooms are air conditioned with remote controls for the unit. While my unit didn't work quite properly at first (it was still comfortably cool in the room), the staff worked diligently to get it fixed promptly. I celebrated my birthday in Barcelona this year, as I often do, and having mentioned it to the hotel manager/owner, Josep, I returned back to the room that evening to find a box of chocolates with a Happy Birthday greeting from the hotel. I cannot imagine a kinder gesture from a hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly return.

We found this place thinking it would an average place to stay in given its cost but we were pleasantly surprised to see that the facilities were new and the service staff excellent particularly Ferdie who goes the extra mile for customer care.
