14 EUR hotel tax charged on arrival for two people staying two nights. Excellent hotel however the reception was closed early and in the room there were not many tea/coffee sachets, so at 6pm on Saturday it wasn't possible to get more. Otherwise great hotel in a great location, 25 mins from the airport, and they kindly let us check into the room early at midday when we arrived and asked to leave out suitcases.

I made this reservation in Oct 1st 2025. My flight to Salzburg arrived at 1030pm on Oct 31. By the time I got to the hotel there would have been no one at the front desk. Between Oct 1 to Oct 27 I have been writing to the Plaza Inn to send me the access code so I can enter the property after hours. I received that code minutes before my flight landed in Austria. Had I not received that code I would not have been able to enter the property and would have been standing outside of that lonely area. Also, when I arrived at the property I did not have clear instructions on how to enter. I stood outside over an hour trying to get into the property. When I finally got in and went to the room I spent another hour trying to figure out how to turn the lights on as there was no clear instructions on how this was to be done. I was not happy with any of this at all. Now today I checked out and the hotel can send me instructions on how to check out but never sent me clear instructions on how to check in. Not good! Also, why was the reservation number from plaza inn not made available to me anywhere on the Expedia site? I sat entering so many confirmation numbers only to get the correct confirmation number a couple of hours before I arrived in Salzburg. Now I am seeing that I have an outstanding tourist tax to pay. Why was this not said to me just now when I checked out? I am so annoyed about my experience and i feel this tax should be absorbed by Plaza Inn or Expedia. Goodbye.

The stay started off great but the second night was not a good stay for us. The whole night there was a beeping that wouldn’t stop from the room down the hall. It was the most annoying beeps after a day of endless walking and just wanting to rest. There is no overnight staff and no phones in the room to call someone. We told the front staff guy the next morning and he stated oh it’s probably the door key because the battery is low. Like great but we can’t contact anyone without a phone in the room. We are traveling from Canada we didn’t have a phone plan only texts. Ugh.

Great for couples travelling, nice walk down the river to the old town. Shops for food shoping and takeaway near by. The room was small but the window made sure outside noise was non-exsistent. Shower nice and powerful and liked the motion sensor lights for in the night when you get up.

Receptionist was eating pizza at the desk and got upset when asked for milk as he was being disturbed. There is noone at reception after 9.30pm so need to fiddle about with an app to get in. Scaffolding in front of the building made it a little difficult to find entrance and also outside our window so no view of anything at that time. About a 10min walk from train station and in a busy part of town however, just start walking and within 5mins you are exploring some gorgeous parts of Salzburg!
