A very nice stay at the Wyndham. There is quite a lot of construction noise in and around the hotel at the moment from the building site opposite and they work from about 8am-7pm it seems. The room was nice and I was upgraded to an executive room on the top floor. The pool is small but nice and we didn’t use the sauna as soon as my partner stepped in she noticed that there was a man sauna-ing naked in there so we promptly back turned, we are not used to that in the UK, must be an Austrian/German thing.

The rooms are slightly dated, however very close to the Salzburg train station if you're planning to move around by train. 30mins from Mozart's square and other tourist sites. They do not provide in room dining which after 36 hours on an international flight would have been great instead of having to be in public again. I could hear my neighbouring room groaning any time I flushed the toilet so be warned, the walls are thin.

The staff was amazing, the room not so much. It started that the 4 star hotel lacked a bellhop service and we had to pay for baggage lockers while awaiting our checkin. After visiting the city for a few hours, we returned again to a wonderful staff and check in process. Checking into the room we came into multiple hairs on the white comforter, which I can understand, but the blood stains and bodily fluid stains on the beds was quite unacceptable. We were told there were no other rooms available. I expected far better from a 4 star Wyndham property and will not be returning to a Wyndham property anytime soon.

Serious safety and service issues during our stay. The connecting door to the adjoining room was not locked, allowing the neighbouring guest to open into our room twice. We only avoided entry by blocking the door with a chair. Reception locked it later but showed no apology or urgency.

The air-conditioning was faulty, blowing cold air instead of warm. Despite reporting it, no repair was done, and we had to turn it off and sleep in jackets.

Other issues: poor Wi-Fi, dusty/unclean carpets, and room quality well below expected standards. Overall, an unacceptable experience.

Amazing breakfast. Friendly front desk staff. Would have liked a place to microwave things as a staff member in the restaurant did not want to microwave something for me, even though I was directed to do so the day before when I inquired about microwave options. Other than that, the hotel has perfect and you the location so convenient to the train station and mall.

Good overall

The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Overall was good.
However, during our stay, the bathroom drain was severely blocked. We had to remove a large amount of hair ourselves before it could drain properly. This should be handled by the cleaning staff, not guests.
Also, when we checked in, the shower gel was almost empty. After one use by our family of four, it was finished, and it was not replenished the next day. We had to use our own. We hope the hotel can improve in these areas.

Excellent stay overall. The hotel is a short (maybe 5 min.) walk from the rail way station. Spacious room, very comfortable bed, very clean premises, great service. I was pleasantly surprised that the local tax due at check-in includes a complimentary local transportation pass for each person, which came very handy throughout our stay.
There is a construction going on across the street (July 2025) - that's outside of the hotel's control, but our room had the not-so-great construction view.

It's a great value: near main train station and city buses. NOT close to Old Town, which is where the activities are. And the restaurants, bars, etc. - you either have along walk or bus ride. The hotel is clean, the restaurant has great service and decent food and drinks. We used the gym.

The young man at the front desk made our stay good. He was very helpful given the circumstances. There is a large building next door being built and the construction crew works long hours. No naps or sleeping late here! They really should notify you beforehand. The location is very close to the train station, which can be good or bad depending on your preference. The breakfast was good.

The food was cold and my partner got super sick

Only arriving day the drink is complimentary

After checking out, i realised from the property info that the city tax is EUR3.55 per pax per nite; so it should be EUR14.20 but i was asked to pay EUR24/-? Why? And due to some review about charging of water in the room so I went to check with reception and was told that only the water on arrival day is free then shouldnt the hotel only replace the water during room cleaning only if guest asked for it, else it is like setting a trap for people to just drink it thinking that it is a norm with other hotels that these are complimentary? I think the hotel must serously reflect themselves on this else it does look very petty on the hotel side. Would appreciate the hotel take this positively as a healthy feedback and not to deny since I did asked and confirmed with hotel recept that subsequent drink is chargable. Other than that, it is a comfortable, great location and clean hotel.

The hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance of the railway station. The facilities were clean and modern and the front desk was very helpful.

However, the AC didn’t work as it was still heating season, and it was sweltering hot in the nights during our stay (temperature in the 60s). We were advised to keep the windows open, but that didn’t help much. The front desk was kind enough to supply a fan after we complained, and it helped a little bit, but not much. Room cleaning was horrible - they didn’t refill the bath soap and we ran out of it during the 3rd day of our stay.

This hotel seems like it would be convenient because it’s close to the main station, however, it’s about as far from old town as you can get and outside the main station is just nasty. The hotel in and of itself was clean. The worst part of the stay for us was the construction on the huge building being built next door. Nowhere on the website or when booking did it mention that the lot literally right outside our window would have construction from sun up to sun down. It was so loud, but when we asked to be moved, they switched us to a much smaller room so we decided to just stay and try to play noise in our room to be able to get any sleep past 6am. I’m sure it’s fine when there’s no construction, but it was super disappointing overall. The phone in our room didn’t work either so Everytime we needed towels or a blanket, we had to walk down and back.

Needs refurbishing and a lot of work

Our first room was dirty, with pubes and hair on the bathtub. We asked to change rooms and they gave us with a slightly smaller bed, after saying it was the last room “of the same category” they had. The new room still had some hairs on the tub, and the fridge had mold inside. The window has poor sound isolation which combine to a massive construction zone just outside made for a “good” alarm clock at 7:30am.
All in all the hotel is in pretty bad shape, the hallways were dirty with confetti and other visible garbage, which suggests it wasn’t vacuumed at least since New Year’s Eve (one week before our stay).

On the bright side is the staff, that tried to solve what they could and offered a discount to compensate for what they couldn’t.

At the current status, I would rate it as a 2 stars hotel at most.

We spent Christmas hare in 2016 and the property was amazing. We came back to Salzburg in 2024 Christmas and this property was so unappealing. This really well cared for hotel in 2016 has declined in to a cheap bus stop kind of motel 6 feeling. Stains on the rug…room didn’t feel clean…the check in was not welcoming and we were charged $175 euros for services that were complementary the last time…it felt like a cheap hustle to make a buck…certainly not a place to spend Christmas. We immediately booked another hotel so we didn’t have to spend another night in this flea bag hotel. Enough said???

The hotel tried to double-charge me. Lucky that after paying at the check in, I looked into my booking records a few month back on Expedia and bank transactions, and realized I have already paid for my stay. I want back to them and got the payment reversed. Phew!

This is a bad hotel. Did not honor our two-bed reservations in four separate rooms, and wasn’t interested in assisting, explaining, or compensating when we told them of the error. Adult family members who should not be sharing beds with one another were asked to do just that. Each room comes with exactly 2 limp pillows, 2 threadbare bath towels, a squeeze bottle of shampoo/shower gel combo affixed to the bathroom wall, and a TV with no signal.If you request housekeeping services, they just pull the comforter up on your bed and walk out - they don’t replenish toilet paper, glasses, or towels or empty trash cans. This is a poorly managed hotel filled with apathetic staff who are bad at their jobs.

Location is very convenient for an early train as it’s quite close but not as close to the touristy area as one would hope. It’s one big construction site inside the hotel and outside. If you enjoy the blissful sound of a Jack hammer and excavator at 7am, you will love this place. The rooms are also set to about 26 degrees with no option to cool them.

Great location for the main train station. There are frequent buses from the airport to the train station then it’s a 3 min walk to hotel. On arrival we were able to access our room at 11am which was a bonus for extra time to be able to freshen up before heading out. Mirabelle Plaza is about a 15 min walk and old town a further 5 mins. The hotel pool was very chilly but actually quite refreshing! Would highly recommend. Great stay.
