We had a great stay at the Moxy but there was a situation I want to make other guests aware of. There was a DJ playing on the rooftop one of the nights we were staying. My husband wanted to go up to the bar to grab a drink before we went to grab dinner and he was told he was not allowed to go to the bar as a paying hotel guest without paying $10 for the DJ show. They were extremely rude and unprofessional about the entire thing. Please fix this issue.

Hotel is nice but a bit small. No fridge or microwave. Staff wasn’t very dependable I called 3x about my television not working and still didn’t get the problem solved. Good price though!

If you’re looking for a boring, traditional hotel, this isn’t it. The Moxy has such a fun, vibrant energy right from the start—you literally check in at the bar and get a complimentary drink! The service was excellent, and the whole lobby area is packed with fun games and great vibes. The location is incredibly central and walkable to everything Uptown. The rooms are clean, minimalist, and trendy. Definitely my new go-to spot in Charlotte!

Eclectic mix of paintings as in dogs with crowns. It was very clean but bare as in functional,minimialistic no comfortable chair in room; no place for bags. Definitely built with unique perspective; chose because near Spectrum Ctr. Excellent valet service;although very expensive like upscale but minimalistic Would I choose again...probably not as different Marriotts my choice. Signage lacking hard to find and GPS directs vehicles down one-way and closed streets. Experience,for sure! Prefer my name said not my dear; not fan of cutesy.

The property is clean and the staff were super helpful. My room had a couple of little things that needed attention, but nothing major.

It is a minimalist hotel (which I appreciated), but if you want all the hotel stuff - pen and pad of paper for example, this might not be the place for you.

The location was fine - across from the bus terminal, which meant some interesting characters at times, but I never felt unsafe.

I would stay here again.

Every employee I passed smiled at me, held a door, asked how I was, etc. Kiara was so cheerful and happy to get me checked in quickly. The decor was fun. The room was clean. And I got two free drink tokens at check-in! I’d definitely stay there again, and already referred a friend who will be in town soon.

The hotel definitely raises their prices when there is a concert. Stayed during the Zach Bryan (2026) concert and it was 500 a night. There was no iron, no safe to lock away your valuables, bathroom was very small and room was very small. I will say the only positive thing about the stay was that it was clean in the room. Parking is terrible. We waited on valet to park us (it was the only option because you can just park yourself which we thought was odd and its 50 dollars per night) for 45 minutes just to say screw it and park in the lot behind the hotel building and pay 75 dollars overall on parking. Clean hotel but terrible organization and over priced.

My biggest concern is it wasn't a trashcan on on the first floor nor a bathroom so if you're traveling and you need to come in before you go upstairs to check in there's no bathroom or trashcan. Additionally, there are no carts available. I think it's like three or four carts for the whole building available for you to put your bags on because people leave them in their room and there's just not enough of them and then lastly the one $5150 charge is still pending on my credit card and it will be two weeks and three days.

This property is across from the transit center. It's loud and feels a bit unsafe on the street outside. The hallways are pretty beat up, rooms have been redone but I had a couple of large bugs in my room, hair in the shower and the smoke detector light brightly flashing all night long. Honestly, it was rough.
I think the staff was doing their best. They were friendly and open to helping.

We stayed here for a concert. The room was great. When we came in from the concert and tried to go to sleep I noticed that the light on the foe alarm was blinking green constantly. I called the front desk and was told that was normal and that I needed to go to sleep that it was too late to change rooms. I paid 600.00 go this room and had zero sleep.
I’ve never stayed in a hotel where the light on the fire alarm blinked on the regular.
This will not be on my top choices to stay again.

I had no idea that moxy has changed my booking and relocated me to elsewhere in the city. I did not consent to that, and the last minute change by one side is unacceptable.
This is unethical.
The hotel tried to get me equivalent elsewhere, but it is anot about cleanness only. I had my own reason for staying in that hotel. If there is a change, it should be sent to me days ago, not while I am on travelling, on the air.
This is very unprofessional and kills basic communication trust.

It was chaotic to drop off for valet and even for simple overnight parking on your own. The parking and valet prices insane!
No microwave or refrigerator in room so inconvenient
I purchased water from target and kept ice in room to prevent from going to 13th floor for a cold beverage. Room extremely dark, minimal light jus never will pay that kind of money for a shotty experience AGAIN, I actually would like half of my money back for the sake of the bafoonery

This is a unique hotel, much different from what I've been to before. The staff was really nice, helpful, cheerful, etc. Finding parking was a bit interesting. The hotel has no free parking. You either have to Valet with them, or park in the paid public lot beside the hotel. We chose valet and it worked well. The check in desk is on the 13th floor at the bar, that was unusual, but worked fine. The tokens for a free drink at check in was nice. Access to the floors with rooms was secured by your room card, however if someone was to get on the elevators from the 1st or 13th floor with you, they could have access to your floor.

Biggest complaint would be the lack of amenities in the room. Bed was great, shower was amazing (rainfall head and detachable wand. Water temp and pressure were top level! Toilet shape was odd (rectangle) and not very comfortable. No microwave or fridge in the room was a big downfall. The 2 worst things would have been the fact that the ceiling wasn't painted, just left bare concrete with some writing on it and the bright flashing light from the smoke detector. But the price we paid for a single night was right in line with what we got, plus being within a couple minute walk to the Spectrum Center for a show was perfect.

Worst night of sleep we have gotten traveling. Even ten floors up, we could hear everything on the street all night long. Lights are bright. Beds uncomfortable. Bathroom door did not lock or hold so we put a trash can so it wouldn’t slide open while one of us was in there. People came in late night, loud.
Also, valet is the only way to park. $55 per night. Plus tip. Yikes!!!
Very basic room. Hanging hooks are on the walls for your clothes. Very little table space to put things down on. There is a bar on the check in floor- maybe you need to have a drink to sleep well.
Billed/booked for two nights and left after 1. Have never done that before and we travel a lot. Tough day of driving 7.5 hours after lack of any sleep. Manager wasn’t available in the am to discuss refunding the night we didn’t stay. Overall extremely disappointing and definitely, definitely do not recommend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They moved me to a different room after I let them know the TV in my room wasn’t working. The only problem I had was that there was a party in the lobby/bar area one night and the security guard stopped me as I was getting off the elevator to go to the lobby where the snack bar is. He told me the party was at capacity and I couldn’t enter the lobby. However, that is the only entrance to the snack bar too. I had to explain that I was a guest and wasn’t there to attend the party, and he finally let me into the area. It was a very uncomfortable interaction.

All good, just need better instructions on where to check in. There's nothing indicating you have to go yo the 13th floor. I arrived at 2am and called several times, no one answered. I only got the information from other guest that happened to arrive 20 minutes after me. 20 minutes can feel like an eternity when there's no good signal and no staff around.

The property had a fun vibe to it. Food at the rooftop bar was delicious, staff and valet were extremely friendly and accommodating! We were traveling with our Labrador and not many places outside for him to potty but we found a few patches of grass down the street.

Everything was great except parking. We chose to use valet and they lost our car. The Moxy front desk staff couldn’t help us as the valet was a third party. The valet the morning of check out was very helpful and did eventually find our car after searching all the lots. Then I was charged double the original fee. Again, Moxy staff couldn’t address the issue so I spoke to the local manager of the valet service who initiated a refund of $55 but said that they never lost my car, it was just under the incorrect phone number. Waiting two hours as the poor morning shift valet has to search every lot and take pictures of different license plates to locate your car indicates that the car has been temporarily misplaced.

Tv reception was horrible worst I’ve ever seen. The lighting in the bedroom was like being in a cave. The smoke detector blinked all night long.
Laying in bed and looking up at an unfinished ceiling reminded me of being in the fifth grade and throwing spit balls to see if they stuck. I don’t think I would stay here again for the price I paid.

Was is a great location in uptown. Literally a few hundred feet from the spectrum stadium. Didnt realize I’d have to pay for Parking in a separate lot or pay $55/day for valet. The check in and bar were on the 12th floor so kind of strange walking in the building and not seeing anyone. Room was just ok. Kind of small, Concrete walls. The bathroom was nice but the barn door wouldn’t stay closed. I guess you’re paying for the location but just an average place.

The hotel room lack the basic essentials I am accustomed to. What was missing: dresser, closet, nightstand, phone to call the front desk (which by the way, the front desk is not in the lobby, it is on the 13th floor at the bar), iron, bucket for ice, desk with chair, bottles of water, and sufficient lighting. Although i appreciate the hobo-chic vibe of the hotel, I prefer to have the basic essentials. Therefore, I will not waste my Marriott points on this hotel again
