Room was good but water seeped out of shower glass door ,there was no way to keep a towel on the floor as the shower door opened out and a towel on the floor stopped the door from opening or closing
Restaurants were ok but had a bad experience on my day of checkout at Rockwood restaurant
The bagel (multigrain) was so hard that it was difficult to chew on
The server brought another but that was also equally bad

The room was not clean and seemed neglected. The curtains were hard to open with some broken hooks. The room had 3 types of flooring and the carpet was dirty, some cracked title in the bathroom and the glass divider between the toilet and the shower was dirty. For the price that we paid for the room, we expected a resort like room with lush, fresh and modern rooms.

Heater was out of order. We called service twice and technician showed up in an hour. A lady at the front desk called us and said she would give the key of other room and told me to call her back when we were ready to move. And nobody received my phone for 15 min and I had to go down to the fpront to get the key.

The price of the room was way over priced the food and beverage cost was beyond stupid 30 dollars for a single shot of basic tequila and rooms were not updated but otherwise property was in decent shape but dated and beds were okay but def did not meet the 600 per night cost in any way shape or form.

Hotel was overall okay. Rooms were clean, which is most important. The grounds, landscaping, and main common spaces are tired and need an uplift. Food at the Japanese place was amazing, but the restaurant needed an overhaul.

Overall, the facility is good. However, the shower door cannot be fully closed, which causes water to leak onto the tile floor. The floor becomes extremely slippery when wet, and we almost slipped and fell. This happened twice.

Usually when I check into a JW property you know you will be taken care of. This property didn’t feel like a JW Marriott. Our room was never serviced and most days we were out and about by 10am at the latest. Room service trays littered the hallways. We ordered lunch at the pool and our waitress never came back after bringing it. After 45 min she finally came back and then saw I was getting my stuff together and said to me in an accusatory manner “you need to sign your bill” Like I had not been waiting and waiting for her to return. I feel they are desperately understaffed and we should of been charged 1/2 of what we were billed.

We came here to celebrate a birthday. I notified the hotel ahead of time and made a few additional arrangements to celebrate which they accommodated and executed as requested and to my liking.
The dinner reservations were easy to make and the staff at Makeda were so nice. They prepared the food, had a gentleman come to our table to sing checked in on us throughout the night and had a nice bday celebration dessert.

Check in was wonky. You can't park to check in unless you valet. They immediately shoe you away. Instead you have to park in a side lot and then walk in to check in. Not the greatest start. Additionally, we upgraded to a premium pool view. It was a big dirty roof and a corner of the pool view, though at least it wasn't a parking lot view.

Over priced for the accomadations. We had left privacy sign on door and housekeeping still came into our room and re-arranged our luggage. Staff was smoking (what's illegal in most states) indoors at end of our hallway, dispersed quickly after we noticed them. We paid up front for accomadations and still left with 1k in additional charges. Onsite property dinning would be conveinent if it tasted good and was quality we didn't find that at Rockwood resturant or Fish resturant. If I was able to re-do my reservations i'd stay elsewhere.

Loved my stay here. Booked 3 nights for my honeymoon and it was amazing. Beautiful resort. We had the special boat ride and it was wonderful. Staff was very helpful also. There’s a lot to do at the resort. Keep in mind that it comes with a daily fee of $45. The breakfast at rockwood grill was also fantastic.

We came here to celebrate my birthday and I was dissatisfied the minute we arrived. First of all, social media had lead us to believe that a boat would bring us from the parking lot to the lobby via boat. Not true but that was our fault for believing on the influencers. Next, we arrived to our room. Room had a non pleasant smell and carpet looked filthy. We also tried to overlook that. The shower wall was dirty and the toilet paper holder was broken and loose.staff was very friendly so I have nothing negative to say about them. Something else to consider, if you are trying to have a peaceful stay, this is not the place. The set up is funky to where there’s a bar area in the open and right in the center of all the rooms. We were never able to go to bed early because people were mowing and being very rowdy. And that bar for most of the night. We booked this place, hoping to love it, and possibly extend for two more nights, instead, we left earlier than the checkout time, and we booked elsewhere instead. All to say that we paid a lot and we felt it wasn’t worth it..

Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience upon arrival. When I checked in I was given a room that was occupied and I had my kids wait there while I walked back down to the front desk. There had been a mistake which I understand things like that happen sometimes it’s just since we only booked one night we wanted to make the most out of our day. We eventually were given another room but it was so far from the initial one. They did offer us free breakfast but I advised them we were leaving really early in the morning . Nothing else was offered. We spent the day at the pool which was nice. We tried to eat at the Japanese steak house for dinner arrived at 5 and since we didn’t have reservations we were turned away and asked to come back at 8pm. We ended up leaving and ate at a similar restaurant offsite . Overall with the room rate being on the other end I did expect more on the customer service end and also we had to walk a long way each time from our room to the lobby or pool but it is a beautiful hotel.

I didn’t feel the restaurants had a huge variety, and the quality of food did not match the price. There was only one place to eat breakfast otherwise order a room service. The movie theater was not working.
Also, I don’t feel like we should be charged for self parking. I never got a ticket. No one ever mentioned anything about the parking when I checked in and I’m sure nobody’s walking around and checking of who’s in a hotel guest and who’s not we were never told we needed to put something on our dash and if we did, I would never walk all the way back there to put that on my dashboard Not a good system. This is not Vegas.

Pool area was neglected. Should be cleaned daily cups in pool wads of hair in pool. Food stains on menus and table and chairs. Hotel is dated not worth the amount of money during prime time. Especially for a JW.

Overall, the hotel is very family friendly and great for kids. We enjoyed the pool, arcade, kids activities, movie, aviary, restaurant, boat ride. However, it was a busy weekend and I was grossed out by the pool and surrounding conditions. For such a weekend, they should have more staff cleaning around. I didn’t really notice anybody circling around the pool. I would probably visit again with the kids but hopefully on a slower weekend.

There is more good than bad for sure. One thing that really set me off was at check in, I was told they would be holding $300 for incidentals. Great. No problem. However, that same day, we charged items to the room and immediately got hit with a $149 charge on my card. I called the front desk and was told the $300 is actually for room damage, not incidentals. Room damage? I’ve never heard of such a thing! Then I was told that I must not stay at Marriott’s often, that’s the policy. I found that very rude. The property is clean and nice. Not close to many things, but Uber and Lyft are easy to get. The majority of the staff was incredible. It’s a very family oriented resort, so if you’re looking for more adult things or less noise, look elsewhere. The aviary was fun, as was the mini golf and watching the flamingos. All in all it was nice. I have a personal issue with the Asst Manager, as I was told one thing via email, and it didn’t happen, but that has nothing to do with the resort itself. If I visited the area again, I would not choose to stay here, but we did have a great vacation.

We were very disappointed with our stay. The hotel felt extremely outdated and not well maintained. The first room we were given still had dirty clothes from the previous guest and the floor had not been cleaned. We came for my daughter’s 18th birthday, hoping it would be a special experience, but it was not. When I called the front desk, they moved us to another room, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation.

We also tried the Mikado restaurant, which was old, unclean, and poorly managed—the host appeared very sloppy. After that, we chose not to eat at any of the hotel’s restaurants.

The only positive was the short boat ride, which was an okay experience but not enough to make up for the overall disappointment.
