There is no elevator to the upper rooms which was somewhat inconvenient. The bathroom has very poor lighting. For over $800 per night, there should be an included breakfast.

We love the Sands Resort! It's very small and private. The pool area is so nice with plenty of lounge chairs and large double lounge chairs with thick cushions and umbrellas (if needed). The staff is helpful and friendly. The Pink Cabana Restaurant is on the premises and The Nest Restaurant and Baby's Marche sandwich shop are within walking distance.

The rooms were clean and dated but lovely. The outside patio faced 111 but the dripping fountain drowned out the auto noise. The entire staff was pleasant and very helpful. The accompanying pink cabana restaurant had a wonderful dinner and breakfast. The hotel was in walking distance to local shops and restaurants. I can't say enough good things about our stay. The rooms were stylish, well appointed, and very clean. The restaurant had delicious healthy food, good drinks, and mocktails. The members of the staff were all very helpful and friendly, particularly Jennifer, who jumped through hoops to extend our stay when the hotel was nearly booked up. We really appreciate this place, and we hope to return soon!

I completely understood and politely complied. We were then told that using the camera around the pool was okay, so we proceeded there. However, we were called out again and told that professional cameras are not allowed at all, even for personal use.

If professional cameras are not allowed anywhere on the property, this should be clearly communicated at check-in or posted with visible signage. Being repeatedly approached felt uncomfortable and unnecessary, almost as if we were being ambushed for simply taking personal photos.
Lastly, the surroundings of the property need improvement. The area looked unorganized, and the landscaping could really benefit from better planning and nicer plants. With more attention to detail, the atmosphere could be much more appealing.
Overall, this stay did not meet expectations, especially considering the lack of clear policies, inconsistent treatment, and overall experience.

Very cute place, be prepared though they charge for parking everyday and the have plenty of parking no valet because its not necessary. Parking right at the entrance. 42.00 dollars a day which i think is really steep. Just a way to make money!

Sorry I hate to complain but I’m mentioning these things so the hotel can improve. I did enjoy my stay overall and the staff was great. Great place to stay if you’re a couple or plan on using the amenities. I got sucked in by the low price and good reviews but once I arrived the cost rose significantly. $42 a day resort fee for what? Free coffee in the morning? Nobody uses the pool in December why are you charging an extra fee? Just include it in the nightly cost instead of charging on arrival. I’m so over hotels doing that bait and switch. Customers need to stop getting used to this and start voicing your displeasure in the practice. Make it optional or get rid of it all together. You’re not providing any extra service to justify $42 extra per night especially this time of year.
Also my room faced the busy Main Street making the patio not useable due to how loud it was all day and night with cars driving by. The room itself though is extremely quiet from outside noise due to the double sliding doors they installed to block the noise from coming inside.
Air conditioner in room 26 needs maintenance. It’s extremely loud while it’s running. And I’m not sure if you can do much about the floor being very squeaky as you walk near the bed but not really a big deal.

While the hotel is dated and small, it is a quiet, little place. I would score it higher, but the lighting in the bathroom was pretty poor for putting on makeup and such. The mattress definitely showed major wear making it difficult to sleep without being pulled the middle of the bed by both sides. Other than this, I would recommend this hotel. There are less than fifty rooms, all of which circle the pool which looked very nice and inviting-quiet and tranquil. The staff were super nice and accommodating. There is a restaurant onsite and seemed to be quite popular without being a “party scene”.

Also the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. Overall the room was clean but patio was not. The hot tub wasn’t clean either which was shocking.

I rented 2 rooms one for me and another for my friend visiting from Argentina. I was looking for a nice getaway from LA. First of all; the pics due no justice on the elegance of the room. The king size bed is so comfortable & pool lounging area is beautiful! The early morning coffee was delicious, provided for all guests in the pool area. Grateful for the gifted champagne bottle in the room & housekeeping daily services. Really felt like a queen.

This is our preferred property when we stay in the palm springs area. Everything is thoughtfully done, and the extra touches like champagne and Sinatra playing in your room are amazing touches. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the pool is very refreshing in the hot months. Elpaso shops are very close by and Palm Sorings is only 15/20 mins away.

I’ve read through the details on Expedia, and the receipt I received when I booked the hotel, and there is no mention of a $47 resort fee. Telling guests about the fee upon check-in, when it is too late to cancel, is the exact bait-and-switch scenario for which the law was created.
The hotel is not a resort and the fee is exorbitant. This soured my impression of the hotel and my stay.

I’ve stayed at the Sands Hotel twice, and if they offered long-term stays, I’d seriously consider moving in. It’s like someone built a “Desert Chic Dream” Pinterest board and turned it into reality—with zero pretentiousness. The moment you walk in, it smells amazing, looks like a design magazine, and feels like the kind of calm your therapist keeps talking about. The rooms are effortlessly stylish—moody, inviting, and so well-designed you’ll question your own taste. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, and the bathrooms make you want to soak and rethink your entire life. But what truly sets Sands apart? The staff. Warm, real, and intuitive. They don’t give you fake hospitality, they see you, and it shows in every small moment. And the pool? Easily one of the best vibes I’ve ever felt. If reincarnation is real, I want to come back as a pool towel here.
Bottom line: I’ve stayed twice, and both times I left emotionally damaged from having to go back to reality. If you’re even thinking about staying here—do it. Just be warned: every other hotel will disappoint you forever after.
