Property is very run down. Both toilets didn’t stop running. One all night long and one off and on all night long. The stair carpet is beyond gross and looks like it’s never been clean. Paint and caulk touch ups were attempted it appeared, but def looked rushed/cheaply done. Needs some major updates and repairs before we’d stay here again and we’ve stayed at other sonesta’s countless times. Def disappointed for close to $200/night.

I stayed at this property a second time after such a great experience the first time. This last time was absolutely appalling to me! I checked in late very tired and ready to rest, even taking a shower I noticed in the bathroom there was a towel hanging on the door that had already been used no big deal because there still the right amount of clean towels. After showering finally getting in bed after laying for a couple of minutes I keep feeling crumbs on my legs and feet I tried to like dust them off with my feet and keep on to sleep but then I start itching and still feeling crumbs so I get up and cut on the flash light and notice a bunch of black pieces of hair and just crumb particles not sure what they were. My husband has t got in bed yet on his side so I go over and Che k his and notice the exact same thing! I instantly try calling the front desk no answer at this point it’s 3am we’re tired there’s nothing that can be done so I send a message to the hotel and use one of the covers on top of the comforter to put on bed and get some sleep! I wake up to phone ringing at 8am but no sound actually comes out, housekeeping banging on the door even though we have late checkout then when I finally check out the front desk staff lets me know they responded to my message that I sent on Expedia I check it and they of course are sorry for the inconvenience but will not be refunding or offering any compensation for their mess up ! Then on top of all that my husband has flea bites !

We rented three rooms for a family coming to take care of our moms house after she recently passed away. When we arrived, all three rooms were in different buildings, not at all close to each other. While trying to check in multiple different groups of guests came in, complaining about the pool not open, no ice machines, and other complaints.
After checking in we went to the first room - non smoking that smelled awful of smoke (unacceptable based on allergies) and while looking around had bugs crawling on the table. The other 2 rooms smelled the same and were in the same state.
We went to the front desk, who was very helpful, and while he told us they were very busy, and offered to try and move us after a few days but we could not stay in the rooms. We let him know we were leaving for a different hotel and he told us to call and let Expedia know so it could be taken care of and refunded. We checked out within 15 minutes of checking in of all three rooms and did not touch anything in any of the rooms.
Once we got ahold of Expedia, they let us know they could not refund and the hotel would have to approve it - the hotel refused even after the desk told us he understood why we were leaving - so we paid for 3 rooms for 4 nights - and then again at a second hotel all while trying to take care of our moms house right after she passed.
We DO NOT recommend Sonesta suites in St Louis, and after this will not be using Expedia again either with the lack of help.

Staff was as excellent just dealing with a dated asset that seems to be mediocre legacy apartment conversion. So our unit was fine for our purposes as it was large (sleeping 6 with a loft) but it was over sprayed with air freshener and the furniture and carpet needed to be replaced 10 years ago. Site touts fireplace but boarded over. TV in main living area the size of a large computer monitor. Anyhow I likely would not pick this place again but for a no frills or quick layover for a large family or group it works.

The couch was so low I could not sit on it as an older female. Husband found used toothpick on floor also. Room was dated but it worked for my surgery date.

A nice property at a reasonable price. However, the floors/ceilings are too thin. Through our stay, constant slamming and talking kept us awake, even past 1:30 AM. I love this place, it’s spacious and clean! I’ve stayed here several times over the years. However, the unit we were in, had no working phone, no working clock,
minimal kitchen supplies, only one lightbulb in one of the bedrooms, the kitchen had very poor lighting. The lights on the ceiling were out.

There are many dogs at the property and unfortunately most people do not pick up the excrement of their animal which is disturbing. The property is not kept clean enough. The rooms have very old furniture and carpeting that needs a refresh. I had them come and reclean the room and it was better.

Check-in was great! Upon arriving in the room, we did a 'walk around' per usual to find a pair of dirty sweatpants in the closet. The 'maintenance' closet next to the fridge has ALWAYS been locked and was unlocked to our surprise. We were even more surprised to open that door to black mold ALL over the closet walls!! This must have been what they've been 'hiding' behind locked doors in years past!
The bathroom appeared clean but there were pubic hairs all over the bathtub so it must not have been cleaned after all. We had the heat set to 70* and the main level was freezing due to cold air seeping in around the door from outside and the loft was unpleasantly warm no matter what we changed the thermostat too. This was our 5th annual trip and we've always stayed here but it's starting to seem very run down and sad to say this will be our last stay unless things change! Parking seemed to be a huge issue this year as well, it would be nice if each room had a reserved spot and excess cars could park at the front of the lot!

The staff were fantastic and the main building was super welcoming. The pull out sleeper bed/couch was unfortunately visibly dirty - both the couch part and the mattress pad that was already on the bed. The toilet was clogged when we got there late (not visibly but it wouldn’t fill up with water) and the next morning we had to ask 3 times before we got a plunger. It worked for a quick place to sleep for a short trip - if the couch and toilet issues weren’t there it would’ve been a 5-star.

The staff member in the office during the evening was helpful, informative and friendly. I appreciate his customer service. I chose this property because of good reviews, location and had stayed at a Sonesta in another city.
But during my first night I discovered the heating unit did not work and there were no blankets or comforters in the room. I started calling the office at 6am but there was no answer and was told later the phone system wasn't working. when I went to the office I requested another room but was told maintenance would come at 8am to verify the unit was not working but no one came until I went back to the office and discovered they had apparently forgotten. I had to request another room again before being moved so I could pack up and move to a different room and finally shower in a room with heat.This delayed my going to see my family, the reason for my trip. The manager only said so sorry and said she would see about any compensation after I requested it. But I have not heard back from her and don't expect to hear anything from the manager.

The room was not what they advertised. It was supposed to be a fireplace. The downstairs room was open no door. It said it was supposed to be private. The bathroom upstairs has used bath towels in it. I had to rent another room elsewhere to entertain my family because the bedroom wasn't private . I paid $161 per night. That a lot of money to get shafted. Actually it called bait and switch which is illegal.
The guy at the front desk said there was nothing he could to accommodate us. I will be posting a Google review soon.

No lights outside - our room was in the back and upstairs. No dishes of any kind in the cupboard or drawers. Before 8- the breakfast was empty- they serve until 8:30. they shut off the hot bar and threw out a few packets of instant oatmeal. nobody at the front desk so we called - they said they were short staffed and we could wait around until after 10 to talk to a manager - will never stay here again.

Hotel staff at check-in was friendly & efficient. After that the only interactions we had with staff were when we stopped at the desk to get more towels. (Housekeeping is only if you stay a full week.) The pictures online were likely taken after the last remodel in 2011. I don't mind when a hotel is dated, however the room we were in was not well maintained. The ceiling fan was very loose and one of the closet doors was off the track and couldn't be opened or closed. The room was mostly clean, except one bathroom sink still had some whiskers in it and the carpets were in need of a good cleaning or to be replaced. Breakfast had unusual food choices and seemed to run out early.

The setup is way smaller than expected from the pictures on the internet. You can barely close the bathroom door because the toilet is so close. The pull-out couch had an old thin mattress with urine stains. Our room was not stocked adequately -we had to ask for bedding, needed shower wash which we never got, and found two nails randomly on the carpet. I was trying to give this place a chance but I called the office to check out early the employee told me the manager wouldn't be in until Monday and he can't issue a refund or guarantee she would anyway.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! The area was nice, quiet, and safe. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast had a good choice selection.
The staff at the front desk was not as welcoming as we have experienced at other stays. There was really not a lot of parking and we had to park 2 buildings down and walk back to our building. Then we walked around to find our actual unit in the building because they were not labeled well. But overall we would stay again!

This was our second time to stay here and it was just as great as the first time. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were well cared for and really enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Each interaction we had with the staff was very positive. They were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast was hot and fresh, room was clean and the kitchens are beautiful! We were offered our choice of upper or lower level when we checked in and I really appreciated that thoughtful gesture. We had plenty of soft clean towels and all the full size toiletries we needed. My family loves staying here and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area. I absolutely recommend this place 10/10, 5 stars

Liked how spacious the room was with a 2 double bed bedroom and a loft with a king bed. Did not like how dirty the fixtures and floor and carpet were. The beds were clean. The pool was cloudy and when I asked when the pool gets cleaned, the staff smirked and said soon. Was cloudy all three days of our stay with bits of hair and cups floating in the pool. Actual breakfast times were different then the actual times so we missed breakfast. Staff never smiled.

A 4 PM check in time is not a customer friendly business model. Neither is prickly (if not hostile) staff who seem to wish they were somewhere else. Pity, since I love the rooms.
