The staff allowed us to check in early. The room was clean and kitchen had the essentials we needed to cook a meal. All staff was friendly including the house keepers and maintenance. They all interacted with my toddler and made us feel welcome. I would stay again.

There were bodily fluids on the walls and paintings. There were freaking cockroach’s and the smells from the other rooms were too much to handle. Front desk didn’t care about any of it and hotels.com has been 0 help and disconnected the chat when I tried to get help from their end. 0-10 would not recommend based off the bugs and fluids alone!

The lobby smelled wonderful, not overpowering, but welcoming.
It was very spacious and clean, as was our room. Checking in went smoothly and the staff was very welcoming even with us having 2 french bulldogs with us.

Check-in good room clean had all supplies you needed to cook and eat big refrigerator nice size microwave we had enough towels nd wash cloths my only problem is the mattress is TERRIBLE had my hip hurting from laying on my side then couldn’t get comfortable at all.the room is a studio apartment away from home.

TV issues. First room didn’t have a remote control. Switched rooms. And an hour into our intense movie, our movie glitched in the last 10 minutes-the best part. No resolution. Left hanging. The tv service never returned to operable. Watched on our phones the last two hours. 😡

Great value for money in a 2-star hotel. We pulled in at 1:30 am. The night clerk who checked us in was friendly and courteous despite the hour. Place was clean as a whistle. Convenient location right off I-81, but we didn't hear any highway noise in our room.

Upon check in, the staff member at the desk was pleasant, but smelled horribly of body odor. The hallways and elevators also had a bad odor, it was worse on the 3rs floor where our room was located. When entering our room, the floors around the edges of the kitchen had crumbs and dirt, trash under the bed and chair. The toilet wobbled when sat on. The windows were filthy. I wasn't happy, but the room was paid for and non-refundable. The final straw was on our second night, while getting ready to leave for dinner, a cockroach was crawling up the wall of the kitchen area and in behind the microwave. I alerted the front desk and they suggested we speak with the manager in the morning, which we did. We are supposed to be getting some type of discount refunded to us, but haven't seen anything yet. If you don't mind affordable and grody, this is the place for you. I will not be staying here again.

Nice hotel. Would have like a free breakfast. Our room had a loud refrigerator. There was no stopper in the tub- which is getting common. We stayed 4 nights, but housekeeping is once a week and we never got that. Good value. We were at the Hershey car show. The Manada Hill Diner is fairly close and offers great food.

Missing light bulbs in the only lamp in sitting area. No lights in kitchen area and dim lights in the bathroom. Overall the room needs more lighting. Beds were old held up with pieces of wood under each leg.

My room was filthy. Black mold all around the tube. Filthy carpet that turned my socks black. Management does not dust or sweep the rooms. The room stank, the carpet was filthy and the mold in the bathroom was disgusting.

Friendly staff but room was woefully inadequately equipped with basic items such as a bath mat for the tub which mad it extremely slippery. TINY bar of soap with no soap dish, minimal towels and difficulty getting additional ones. Recline char didn’t work right. It was nice to have the kitchenette, but no table or surface of any kind to eat any food. My major problem that after having. terrible night of sleep the night before my departure, I asked and was granted a late checkout of 12 noon ( instead of the standard 11:00 AM checkout departure time. I appreciated this very much , HOWEVER, the maid service knocked very hard on my door at 9AM and woke me and my spouse!!! I told them that we had a late checkout and they shouldn’t have done that. They didn’t even apologize! Why did they not communicate with the front desk on something so basic and simple? It was then impossible to fall back to sleep and we left feeling very angry and exhausted . I will be seeking a partial refund for this major inconvenience.

The hotel is within 15 minutes of Hershey Park, which in my opinion, is the primary reason it is worth considering in your travel plans.

Dumpy hotel. Front door would stick shut, bathroom vent fan was covered in dust and vibrated so loudly it shook. Two lights did not work at all, the AC unit emitted a loud whistle noise so only the fan could be used. No service personal at desk during check out to address any concerns. I’ve stayed at this chain before and never seen one so badly maintained.

From the very start of check in the front lobby was in shambles which should’ve been our first clue. There was unfinished paint, discolored carpet etc.
The room was decent looking but only gets touched once a week from room service/staff so we had to ask for towels/rags each day.
We put in a complaint about the bathtub because it kept filling with still water during our shower. The front desk said they would have someone look at it Saturday while we were away and we woke up Sunday morning to take showers and it was the same way. Avoid this place at all costs.

Needs a good cleaning.

The hotel rooms could use a bit of a detail cleaning. There was dust on the vents, curtains had tiny hopes, the coffee pot looked dirty and there was a bug in my room. The pool out sofa bed was horrible. Felt all the springs. The bed sheets looked dirty.

We always check for cleanliness before we take our bags in (in case of bed bugs). There were no bugs but the room was dirty. Found a crusty sock under the mattress. Food wrappers were under the beds. The trash cans had stuck food under the liners. The floor had lots of hair and crumbs on the carpet. The bathroom had patch work jobs not repainted and torn up trim with mildew/moldy caulk. The ceiling over the kitchenette was greasy with dust and cobwebs. We felt gross staying there.

Our stay at Candlewood suites was okay but not wonderful. We stayed 2 nights and the first night the fire alarm went off in our room for no reason at 11:30PM and then the next night at 4AM. Bathtub didn’t drain well. Room was clean and the mini kitchen was nice. Dishwasher was very loud.

Booked 2 rooms, both rooms were very dirty, toilet was clogged, fire alarm went off three times during the 5 night stay (no EMS response) Towel holder hanging off wall. 2nd room was not in any shape to be rented. The smell of animal urine was insane. Dealing with front desk was awful, finally switched 2nd room after numerous run arounds. Would not let me leave a message for Property manager or regional MGR. Property is not kept up with, side door not secure and falling off hinges, pool was unsafe and inoperable, PTAC holding water smelling like mildew/mold. I actually do this for a living. 6000 units, I will be speaking with corporate. I expected a discount for dealing with all these short comings but instead, I got someone that kept saying they were new to the job and didn’t know how to reach anyone. I do hope someone reaches out to me to make this better.

A system booking problem! Read before booking!

We will never stay at any Candlewood Suites after this trip. After finding out that our room didn't have enough space for our family, we called and paid to upgrade our room size. When we went to check-in after they had charged us for the \"upgrade room\" we found out that they had us in the same room we had original booked. On top of that the hotel was over booked and there was nothing they could do about changing our room to the room we had paid more for. After hours and I mean hours we were finally able to get our extra money back but we still had to stay in a room that was to small with our child having to sleep on the floor. Along with us there were 4 other family in the hotel that we know about that were having the same problem. Clearly, they have a system booking problem at this hotel! They were so booked that they didn't have enough towels or bedding due to the amount of added people there and how many families were having to make beds on the floor for the kids. The poor room cleaner was running around like crazy trying to wash towels and bedding to get it to everyone. I feel for the front decks works too. They truly were sorry and they tried to do what they could but when you are paying over $200 a night it just isn't ok. The worst part is that we knew so many other families going through the same thing that had booked the right room from the start and they still didn't get the room they paid for. Really think about your family size before you book in this hotel!

I went by the reviews to book this and they were very wrong!! First the pool is closed and they don’t tell you till an hour before you get there, I asked for a pillow for the pull out bed and said they don’t have pillows?!? I was there for a tournament and needed ice for water bottles and my drink that night, the ice machine in the room make about 4 cubes exert few hours, I asked if there was a machine in the hotel, told me no fo a gas station and buy ice, what!?!? The so called paid breakfast is a few things of cereal with no milk, no one was hardly at the fron deal, if you see towels you need to bring yours down to get new ones because there is no housekeeping unless you stay over a week. So could not get towels. Don’t know what I spent over $250 a night on!!!! Don’t go here, there are so many other hotels in the area that are so much better. Awful experience!!!

Nothing felt clean. The exterior looks rundown-nothing like the online photo. Bathroom in the lobby had a broken door handle so it doesn’t even lock. Room smelled musty and was not clean. There were pieces of dog food in the bathroom-so clearly people before us had a dog in there (a dog presence was not an issue for me), but it also meant the housekeeping of the bathroom was less than thorough. The floor was gross so I wore flip flops the entire time. There were stains on the sheets so I just had to self-medicate and go to bed and know I was out of there in the morning! Bathroom walls and door gross-can they be wiped down every once in awhile?? I will not stay here again.

This property was disgusting! The moment we walked in I could smell mold and mildew. I thought it was just because of the dogs I saw walking all over the hotel but nope, even when we walked to our room it was horrible. The second I opened the door to the room you could smell this foul odor, and the front desk didn’t have a solution for it. Not to mention they sent me a message stating the pool was closed and when I messaged back asking what my options were I never got a response back. The room I booked looked nothing like the one I was given, when confronting the desk they said yeah that’s a different suite and those photos are not even of our hotel. Shocker considering none of the inside of your hotel looked like the photos. The dish washer was completed rusted on the outside with white stuff all over it. DO NOT STAY HERE!
