We were checked in and hanging out in our room when other guests entered our room. Apparently they checked these guests into our room. An absolute safety issue. The staff’s initial response was to call it a “misunderstanding” and tried to imply it was on us. They back tracked and finally apologized and said they would give us new keys.

This place was not an enjoyable stay. Half the elevators were down. We had the thermostat set at 60° and the temp was cooler outside than in the room. We had broken electrical outlets that were unsafe and lights would go on and off by themselves water pressure in the shower was low. The food in the eateries was outrageous on top of that. The only thing that was convenient o bout the place is they had room for our organization to have meetings.

We got a suite for the night gor the 4 of us, there was 1 blanket. Went to the service counter and they said they were out. Bedroom window was broken and would not close. Bedroom shade was also broken and would only go halfway down. For as much money as we spent for the night the room should have been immaculate and there should have been enough blankets for us and the kids, especially since I booked ahead. Other than those couple of things the suite was nice and clean and staff was friendly.

Very unpleasant stay

The room wasn't clean. There was hair stuck all over the shower. It was hard to get a good picture of it. There was also hair inside the sink. Also, there was a stain in the carpet and on the lounger that looked like blood. The lounger was stained all around it in other areas, too.
My spouse came 2 days later, and I had given the front desk his name. When he went down to get coffee, he stopped at the desk to get another card. (He didn't realize he didn't have his ID.) They asked for his ID, and due to his not having it, they called security on him and followed him to his room like a criminal. Then they never issued him an ID after they verified it was him. I was standing there, and they never apologized or asked me anything. Several times, we had to ask the desk for things, and they were so rude. The hotel was empty almost every day of my 7 days until Friday and Saturday, so you would think customer service would be important to keep people happy and bring in more clients. When it was busy, we had to wait 30 minutes to get out of the garage.

We reserved an executive suite corner room online with Expedia, and paid upfront. When we got to the hotel they said they didn't have any rooms available and placed us in a traditional king room. They said we had to work out the problem with Expedia. In other words, no reimbursement on the hotels end. A large dental convention was going on to to busy to be served in their bar. Overall not a pleasant experience when you spend $520.00/night for a room. We stayed on the 33rd floor, and was asked to come to guest services to re-code our keys 3 times. I had asked for a bottle of water and was told the fee was $4.00/bottle or $10.00/if delivered to the room. I thought surely they could comp us a water since we had to continue to \"come to the front desk\" due to their mistakes. This weekend away was quite frustrating due to the Sheraton Hotel.

I’m not handicap

We checked in at 2 and was told we had a specialty room he said King. But I ordered the queen with sofa. We were finally given key after 5pm check in was 4. I was in a handicap room? Why I asked the front desk manager and he was completely rude and not personal as if I was wrong? I feel like I was robbed of the $1300 as I missed dinner with family we were meeting in town since I had no where to get read and change. Then this morning I ask for a manager don’t get one and the gentleman made me also feel like I was a problem. My shower was in a handicap bathroom with water completely covering the floor. Poor design and dangerous because I slipped and fell. I honestly feel a full refund is appropriate given the horrible service by front desk manager and agents. Also given keys to shut me up and now waited 20 more minutes for it to be cleaned. Walk in now the door knocking and it’s maintenance because the A/C wasn’t working. I still couldn’t get ready in time for my evening plans

What a great place! The staff was friendly and helpful; location was ideal; bed was extremely comfortable; room was surprisingly quiet given its location. The only downside was that the carpets in our room had just been cleaned (literally they were finishing up as we were walking into our room) so they were wet and the room wreaked of cleaning chemicals. We requested a box fan which they promptly delivered and we were able to open the window vent to help draw out the fumes. Because the hotel was sold out, they couldn’t relocate us.

For a $350 / night hotel, we couldn't get the A/C to work in the room, we had to pay to park $29, didn't get breakfast, the \"heated\" pool was probably 55 degrees and not only unheated but an aqua cemetery of bugs and mosquitoes.

Every time I stay a night at a \"nice hotel\" I'm reminded why it's completely not worthy it. For half the price (or probably even less) I could stay at a Hampton Inn, with a more comfortable bed, rooms at the same level of finish, a damn breakfast, not get charged for parking, an indoor heated pool and while I won't be wowed, I won't be incredibly disappointed either because I won't be expecting to be impressed either. Goodness Sheraton, it's called the hospitality industry for a reason. Never again.

We chose this property for access to the “Link” because we were attending an event in the Union Station. We had thought that the Link would make our stay more convenient. We found that it made it more difficult! Signage is terrible and we found it very difficult to know for sure where we were in the “maze” as we tried to navigate. Really surprised us that there few good maps throughout the Link. Fortunately the weather was fine and we could walk easily. Can’t understand why the Link, which is a great idea, is so poorly mapped and signed!

We stayed at the Westin last visit to KC. It seemed better. We did not like the fact our room was not cleaned one day and we called to front desk and asked for it to be cleaned. Had to call a second time, then when the attendant came (male) he said the Do Not Disturb sign was on, which we never would have turned that on. He did clean the room and left. That was unexpected.
We were surprised at the lack of guests there compared to the Westin. We visited both hotels during our stay.

The hotel was nice, the dining room staff was superb and the food good, the maid made the bed with the fitted sheet on TOP - LOL, but when we checked out, the record showed we had checked out days before we did. We were trying to catch a flight and the front desk couldn’t get it straight and the person got snippy with me. I wasn’t happy!

Be sure to ask for a room that is away from the elevators. They run all night from Floor 1 - 28, and you will hear every stop and start from a room beside the elevator. I needed the earplugs I always pack for trips. Other than this circumstance, I thought the hotel was quite wonderful.

The location is great, the property is very nice, the room was very comfortable, until... the person in the room above me left there water running and it flooded down through my ceiling in the middle of the night. It was a rude awakening and the overnight front desk person was extremely rude. The ceiling was cracking in three different places and they refused to move me to a new room until I cleared out all my stuff of the affected room. I didn't feel safe and was sent in alone. She was apparently annoyed with the inconvenience, distracting her from her lounge chair and her cell phone. I was so exhausted and it took about 90 minutes to get it handled. They generously gave me points for future stays and comp'd my $7 coffee. I don't recommend this hotel.

Always loved this hotel. This used to be a luxury hotel. Rates are more fitting for a medium quality hotel. The beautiful restaurant overlooking the lobby is now barren. Skies, the rotating restaurant on top is closed. The room was clean, but the shower was cold. Charged $25 a night for self parking. The manager offered Bonvoy points, but didn’t follow through. At $300 a night, including taxes fees and parking, there are much better stays in Kansas City. Extremely disappointed.

Crown center closes at 6pm except for a BBQ place til 10 and Spin Pizza til 9. That’s it. Spin is good. Expensive but good.

My issues with the hotel is the restaurant is horrible. The elevators are noisy and the pool was freezing. Yes it’s an outdoor pool but we’ve had hot 95 for a month at least and it’s outside/inside. 2 lights in the corridor worked (50ft) corridor.

I booked through Expedia and paid at booking. Surprise when I almost get home after checking out and driving 3hours home I get a notification of a charge on my card. For my stay. I call and someone made a “mistake”. I will be watching my statement.

The staff is friendly. And there is stuff to do in the area. The food choices need to stay open longer for people who stay there and happen to do something else during the day. Like watch the Royals.

The service in the restaurants and bar was very friendly and attentive. The front desk were helpful. The rooms were not clean at all. We had two rooms that adjoined. My room had aspects that had not been cleaned. There were crumbs on the floor, hair on the shower wall, and the bathroom mirror and sink were dirty. Our other room had dirt on one bed and hair in the shower. Also, the bath faucet was leaking and the window curtain was stuck in the closed position. Regarding the last two issues, the staff was responsive and fixed those issues within a few hours.

It is all about the location!

A good weekend getaway for a festival. This hotel is in a great location with lots to see and do nearby. Convenient to the Crossroads, Union Station and Crown Center. The hotel is a classic Sheraton. The lobby is a wonderful place to gather and relax. The bar/restaurant was also good for gathering and socializing. We enjoyed the pool, but it is in need of a refresh. Although the deck has some nice flowerpots and furniture, the pool needed some TLC with a nice ring of muck around the waterline. Hot tub was not in service. Towels were thin and cheap.
We will stay at this hotel again because of the location.

We wished to switch from a king bed to two queens (same price). Was told none were available. But it appears there was NO ONE ELSE on our floor. We were given room next to the elevator and had to listen to it all night. The room key card was difficult to use. The check-in person told us the rooftop restaurant was closed when, after we got home, we found out it was open. Perhaps we were too old to be welcome? The desk lamp could not be used as it flashed on and off like it was shorting and might catch fire. The bathroom sink was slow. We decided to not stay our second reserved night. The lady at the checkout desk made it clear, since this was a pre-paid visit, we would not get any sort of refund. Then the ultimate insult. Upon getting home we get an advertisement showing we could schedule another stay at $190 less PER DAY! We will visit Kansas City again. But the Sheraton will never see us again.
