We went to the dining room the first evening of arrival to order some dinner after a long day of travel with delays and other problems, and were told it would be over an hour to get served because they were busy with room service. This was around 8pm in the evening. They shouldn’t have a dining room up if they aren’t any more efficient than that.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. The location is convenient and the rooms are large and clean. However, what keeps us coming back is the staff. They are welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, when needed, or answer a question. They make this good hotel truly great!!

Staff was great. Indoor pool was cold as the water moves inside and outside. I did report a stain on the carpet when we first made it to the room as we walked in. Parking at the hotel has a fee. Breakfast at the hotel has a fee. So all in all staying on the plaza was nice but felt it could have been nicer for the price. Felt like there were lots of fees.

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 elementary age kids) had a nice stay at the Hilton KC Country Club Plaza for three nights over spring break. The king bed was very comfortable, but the pull-out couch bed was thin and springy - thankfully the kids don't care about that.

I pre-ordered the breakfast for us through Expedia for $28/night, which got us all access to the breakfast buffet - normally $22/person/day and would have been WAY overpriced. For our light breakfasts, even the $28 felt a bit high, but they did have a tasty buffet with good fresh fruit, warm eggs and sausages, yogurt, cereal, muffins, etc. Definitely a decent buffet and was nice to have breakfasts taken care of without going elsewhere.

- The lobby was nice and clean, and smelled good!
- We used self-parking for $30/night, which felt steep, but is well in line with other hotels in KC. The parking is directly on-site under the hotel though and felt generally secure, covered and convenient.
- The room was slightly on the small side, but generally clean with good daily cleaning.
- The pool was open and kids loved it! We were here in early April and the pool goes from indoors to outdoors, which is a fun variation for a hotel pool. The pool says it is heated, but with it being early spring and cool temps, we would not consider the pool to be outright warm. It was cool but swimmable, and again, fun to swim from indoors to outdoors and back. There is no hot tub. Pool towels were (usually) available near the pool.

In my shower was 2 shampoos and one conditioner and “no shower gel” which I’ve always had all three. Additionally, I went to the front desk, respectfully shared this information and asked for a bar of soap in order that i could take my morning shower, they were graciously accommodating.’Upon checkout I did mention it again, for my hope is that this was shared with housekeeping so the next customer in the already very comfortable room would be totally set for their stay.

Overall a nice hotel. Nice amenities like the pool, fitness room etc. Food & room service typically good, prompt service. Valet service is highly commendable very polite group of employees and very prompt. Check in was slow. However, the following from my viewpoint could be improved: I dropped an earring & looked under the couch it was very dirty, crumbs etc.
Room service food is good but they do forget to include some of the food you order - when brought to their attention they bring it quickly. I've stayed at this hotel before & this has happened several times.
My favorite part of this stay was the elevator. I thought the elevator was stuck because I pushed the down button and the light kept going off. I was on my way to an appointment and needed to go so I decided to take the stairs down - from the 14th floor. I got down to the 2nd floor and noticed there was no door handle/knob so I proceeded to go the the 1st floor same problem no way to get out onto the 1st floor. Interesting. Curious at this point I proceeded to go down which led to the basement where the valet employees park the cars. Very dark rather dirty looking & still had trouble finding a door out. Fortunately, a valet came down a ramp to park a car & offered to take me back up which I was very happy to accept. Apparently, early morning according to a reliable source, the elevator is just slow. I discovered the next morning that it appears to stop every few floors causing a delay. Nice to know that now.

When I pulled up the valet worker didn’t know where there was grass for my dog to go potty. After looking on my own, I discovered they have zero grass. I had to walk up a hill behind the hotel to find a small patch of grass every time my dog needed to go.

They put me in a room that wouldn’t cool off. The engineer never showed up to fix it so I had to pack up and move rooms. The front desk employee told me he was upgrading my room for the inconvenience. The only upgrade was a patio. That would have been nice but the sliding door was broken and we couldn’t walk out there.

The pool wasn’t open.

I put out my menu that night for an early breakfast that never came.

I could go on. The staff was nice. This hotel wasn’t dog friendly at all, though….if that’s what you are looking for.

The property was very clean and comfortable. There was a loud noise that was banging periodically through the night that made it hard to sleep. However, the winds were blowing at 50 mile an hour plus so I am sure that that had something to do with it. I didn’t realize there was no parking other than the parking garage that is attached to the hotel and they don’t tell you until you check in that. It is $30 to park there each day. All in all, I would stay there again however if there is a another hotel that is in the same vicinity with free parking, I would probably choose that hotel over this one.

We checked in and went up to our room and noticed room was warm. We turned the AC down in the room and went to bed. We got warm through the night and I’d end up opening a window. My Husband went down with the front desk following morning and they ended up telling him that the AC was out. That was not told to us upon check-in. They told us we could open up a window and that would cool the room off. Remind you, we are in downtown Kansas City, where there are sirens, loud noises, etc. The first day our room was not cleaned and of course we came back and requested housekeeping. It took three days to get our room cleaned. All of this to say the communication amongst the hotel staff was extremely poor.

The room was huge, and perfect for a family with teens. The pool was indoors and outdoors and a lot of fun. Staff was friendly and helpful. While we could hear other people and traffic, the noise level was decently quiet for a hotel room. Parking was a breeze, check out was simple. All around a great experience.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! Being in such a high traffic location, I thought it might show wear and tear but it did not. It was beautiful, clean, and the rooms were so quiet and peaceful. The bed was also incredibly comfortable and I slept better than I normally do in hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

The presidential suite is way too small for the amount of money they charge for one night. Also, one of the wall covers for the furnace had fallen open and leaned against the wall across from it before we had even gotten there. That was our first impression. I ordered a bottle if champagne to the room upon check-in for my girlfriends birthday. The host proceeded to ask me if I wanted berries with it, and I accepted. She also asked me what her name was so that they could send up a card too. Neither the berries or card showed up with the champagne, which took almost an hour to get to the room. Nothing about our suite felt special. It was a poor experience and we will most likely not be returning to this hotel in the future.

Our bed sheets were covered with ?small white seeds? insect eggs? Don't really want to know. 100's of them. Gave my wife a massage with massage butter and she wound up like a bun coated with these bits. The front desk attendant, Lex, did comp our room when I gave her a sample. My room, as always was perfect; however, the elevators to all parking levels were not operational and wouldn’t be for days. I understand things like this will happen, but forced to use “valet” (or walk the ramps with your luggage) 👎. I never like using Valet after years ago our car being slightly damage using valet. That didn’t happen on this occasion, but on this trip I was glad my stay was only one night. Nonetheless, love this hotel and will stay there again and again.

I have stayed at this location many times. The room decor is modern and chic. Was disappointed that the elevators were down to parking garage. The self-parking should have been free due to the inconvenience of walking all the way to main entrance! My child loved the pool as usual. Will return! Well for one the light above the shower fell out while my husband was in the shower and hit him in the head. That could of been deadly. Then we moved rooms and there was not heat nor did the room phone work. Moved to another one and final at 12 at night was able to get settled in. Went to breakfast the next morning the milk was curtled. None of the cold food was on ice or anything just on the counter. Also back to the beginning the elevator from the parking garage was not working so you had to walk to the front on the building to get in. The manager working at one point asked if he could take care of his employee and get them their room. They were staying the night cause of a snow storm. Then we he was checking out our last room of the night to make sure the heat worked he said sorry it took so long had to work on close out things for the night. While we sat in a cold room for 30 to 40 minutes. My husband and i were not happy at all. It was not a very enjoyable experience and birthday for my husband due to the hotel and its staff. If i could 0 i would.

Asked for handicap accessible room, and got unpacked and found no grab bar in bathroom for my disabled Dad. valet couldu find my car/keys, first brought me someone else’s car, asked front desk staff for assist getting car, but they were chatting it up with another employee and then answered rudely when I asked her to help the valet who was stuck behind the parking garage arm….. it was a Cluster! And it was 6 am, so not like they were busy. We were in a hurry to get across town for my Dad’s surgery, ended up being late…I hate using Valet, but parking garage elevator broke, so they recommend valet….

We found trash and a dirty sock in the room. The water pressure in the shower was terrible. We booked a room for 3 people but were only given 2 washcloths and then we were given a hand towel when we asked for more. The windows were so drafty that we had to turn the heat up pretty high.

We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant the first night and were told it would be over an hour and a half before our party of 7 could be seated but there were plenty of open tables. We couldn’t push 2 tables together but were allowed to be seated right away if we split our party up. Keep in mind there was one waitress so it wasn’t like staffing was the reason and there was a party of 6 already seated.

Yes everything was lovely. Great for leisure time. It was about 15 minutes from Royals and Chiefs stadium. If you love to eat and shop this is the area. Everything was in walking distance. The check in agent was not customer friendly and we were not sure why. She “offered” a room on a lower floor that would not accommodate the view of the Plaza lights. We asked for mgmt and amazingly she was able to offer a room with view. However, the room had a rancid smell and we had housekeeping

The breakfast was ridiculous. $25 for a continental breakfast that was not that great. The room was clean, but the toilet never flushed properly, we had to hold the handle down to get it to flush and by the end of our stay, that didn’t even work. The A/C quit working so our room was over 80 degrees when we got back. The valet staff was friendly even though we didn’t use them, they were extremely kind and helpful.

Hotel is in a good area. Walking distance to Country Club Plaza. Hotel seemed clean. Needs a little updating in lobby area. Room was very nice. Pool was outdoor and indoor but nothing major to look at. The major issue was elevator. They have two but only 1 worked. Stairs were not great to get to rooms. We were on the 14th floor and someone told us the stairs do not go all the way down to lobby. It took anywhere from 1 min to 20 minutes to get a free elevator to ride up. We were on a higher floor so we usually caught it down on the first time. elevator would also go up a few floors then never go all the way to the top button and head down to start over again, opening to people waiting to get on with a full elevator. It was very frustrating.
