Do not book at this hotel. They \"overbooked\" yet charged my card. And when I showed up, they said they didn't have a room available and couldn't refund my card. I had to spend the early morning hours finding a room and trying to get hotels.com customer service to solve this problem. Terrible way to start a weekend.

The location to KU Med & price was our reason to book this hotel. We were pleased with the accommodations, room size was large, quiet, breakfast was ok & walking distance to a wonderful Mexican resturant. Yes it could use some upgrades but it worked for one night.

Convenient and good price but kind of an old hotel-turned-updated on a budget.
A bit musty smelling. It was a no smoking property yet you can smell that guests smoke cause you can smell it in the hallway. Also the window did not lock and the shade was broken so I couldn’t open them. The first room I got the air/heat/fan didn’t work but the girl at the front was super nice and helpful and moved me to another room. I could have tried another but I was tired and didn’t want to deal with it anymore. Like I said, good for price and convenience to freeway and a really good Mexican restaurant next door.

You will think I was lying when I begin to list the problems we had. In “short”, dingy, dirty overall, smells like weed and cigarettes throughout the halls. Sheets were stained and dirty, even after we changed rooms. The whole place is filthy. Floors sticky, blanket stained as well, easily visible dirt and who knows what on walls. Window shade did not cover window, door lock was janky (safety issues). Bathroom sink slowly drained and then to top off, shower didn’t drain at all. No maintenance per front desk and apparently no access to emergency plumber in Kansas City?! (Sanitation issue) I was told there was nothing they could do, then I suggested a plunger and was given one for me to work on myself. After multiple attempts of working with front desk and asking for a manager who “wasn’t avail until Monday” gave up dealing with them and tried going through EXPEDIA directly - still waiting to see what they do to help.
Booked this off of varying reviews but seeing several good reviews I thought at minimum it would offer basic needs, likely no frills. It is unacceptable to pay money for this place. Don’t know how anyone actually gives this good reviews.
Expedia should pull this from their offerings. It’s the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The pictures online look much different than what the property actually looks like. The property didn’t seem to be in a great area, and when we tried to check in around 10pm we found that the hotel had given our room away. They claimed they had tried to contact us, but when I said we had booked through the app they then said they had tried to contact us through the hotels.com app. They claimed not to have any room left that night, which we decided was probably for the better anyway.

This hotel is in a really sketchy part of town. Immediately upon entering the room, i noticed trash in the corners and along the floorboards. There was candy and stuck on dried food on the floor. The walls are dirty. I grabbed the ice bucket and a literal cockroach crawled out. It was very late so i decided to just stay and check out in the morning. I woke up in the morning to another cockroach right above my head. It was so so gross there. I asked for a refund for the 2nd evening since we did not stay the second night. I found another girl. The girl at the front desk said that she would have her manager call me. Still have yet to hear from the manager. Poor service in addition to a trash roach motel. Eww.

The area around the hotel has a lot of homeless folks. We did not have any negative experience because of it, but it’s worth knowing if you decide to stay here. The room was clean and comfortable, but the condition of the room overall wasn’t great. But for the price, it’s about what we expected or better. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the staff was friendly.

Asked for a 5am wake up call when we checked in, never received any calls. Luckily we woke up on time or my husband would have missed his very important medial visits early in the morning. Those medical visits were the only reason we were in Kansas city and stayed at your hotel. Makes me very reluctant to stay there for our next visit in 6 months.

The hotel is ok, but pretty bare bones. Our first room smelled like an indoor pool and was oddly steamy when we walked in. Why? The bathtub faucets were broken and it was hemorrhaging hot water constantly. The second room they guided me too already had someone in it when they opened the door (that caused a surprise for that guest!), but the third time was a charm and we had a room. The area has nothing to speak of, the breakfast was remarkably minimal, etc. Glad we were only there a night while passing through.

A weird mix of new and run down. Furniture & carpet looked new, but bathtub was stained and gross looking, vent was rusted, corners pealing. no curtains on windows, bathdoor was splattered with something smoke detector totally missing, bed was on what looked like a folding frame and mattress didnt cover the whole frame (I kept stubbing my toe on the uprights). Mattress and bedding looked new and was comfortable. Refrigerator did not get fully cool, microwave not functional. Outside, several windows were broken out with glass everywhere. I saw one window boarded up. Seemed like a sketchy neighborhood.

I had the worst experience with this hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! First off I didn't even stay at the hotel and they would not refund my money. I was completely unaware that they wanted $150 deposit at this location. I was so shocked because the prices were hidden so well online that you had to actually search for it to find it. I made the reservation 2 hours before arriving to the hotel. They just refused to give me back my money. They would not even respond to Expedia emails! They barely get any business so I see why they kept my money. They are probably struggling to keep their business together. Definitely not a hotel I would even entertain spending $150 for a deposit at! I'm very disappointed with this outcome and I will never bring my business or any other business to this establishment!

The beds were comfortable, which is nice. Check in was slow, our room keys were deactivated after the first night of our two night stay, so having to get the keys redone was not ideal. The shower was tough to use as it had separate hot and cold knobs, which were very touchy, so it went from cold to scalding hot in no time. Also, the toilet flange would not close on its own, so the toilet would constantly run after flushing.

Room was great! Beds were comfortable. Very nice hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, make-your-own-waffles, bread, jelly, fruit, cereal, milk, juice, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had to stay an additional night due to weather and there was no problem doing that. The only problem was the front door(s). The outside door was hanging on by a single hinge so cold air (and snow) was coming inside the entryway thru the gaps where the door wouldn’t close. The second front door, going into the lobby, did not shut because the door closure wasn’t attached so most often, that door was standing wide open. The lobby and all the halls were very cold. Thankfully, the rooms were nice & warm! I’d stay there again but hope they get the front door fixed soon.

The hotel is within 10 minutes of the things we wanted to see and do. That is the reason for my rating. The property is old, no renovations at all. The water in the shower took forever to warm up and didn't last more than 2 minutes at the time. It smells like an old place, but they do a good job trying to keep it clean. Upon arrival there was a funky smell in the hallways. The room needs some work. There was obvious attempts to cover holes but no attempt to repaint. The bathroom was lacking enough towels for the three of us and it was a room that was sized for four. There was trash on the bathroom floor. The shower pressure was ok and temperature was good however it felt like you were walking on a water bed. The window had a conaistent draft blowing through and you could hear outside like you were out there. The smoke alarm was missing its cover. The last night of our stay we heard the fire alarm and the fire truck arrived. But there was no communication on what yo do from hotel staff so we assumed everytbing was ok. The ice machine was not working either The beds were clean and surprisingly comfortable minus the pillows. Price was low so I wasnt expecting much overall!

This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room was absolutely disgusting and clearly not cleaned properly. There were visible stains all over the sheets and even on the mattress itself, which made the room feel extremely unsanitary and uncomfortable. I did not feel comfortable sleeping there at all.

The issues didn’t stop with the room. Breakfast was extremely limited, with very few options and poor quality overall. It was nothing like what was advertised. On top of that, the hotel was incredibly loud throughout the night, making it very difficult to rest or sleep.

To make matters worse, several of the appliances in the room did not work properly, which added even more frustration to an already disappointing experience. For the price, this stay was completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere unless they want to deal with cleanliness issues, noise, and non-functioning amenities.

Parking lots could be cleaned more often, Staff are not accommodating, pool is never opened, And luggage carts are only kept in the lobby.

When i arrived the first room door had been kicked in at some point so the door deadbolt didnt lock and there was no latch or chain lock, i was given a second room which had not been cleaned from the previous guest. I checked in at 7pm. Third room locked and was services. Cleanliness was sufficient, not great. Several othera had similar issues at my check in. Breakfast was very basic, but fine for free.

The bathrooms weren't working on the lobby floor. The room smelled and plaster was falling off the walls. They also demanded a $250 deposit in case they smoked in the room. We are a cancer organization run strictly on volunteers and the cancer survivor and family we sent up there were treated terribly. They didn't even end up staying there and we need reimbursed.

For the price they charge find another hotel. This is not worth it. The room served its purpose of giving my sister and I a place to sleep and to get off the road. However I do not recommend this location. The room was fair, the beds were decent. The carpet was sticky so I did not walk around without shoes on. The breakfast, was almost non existent. They had the waffle maker up and working at least but no eggs or sides no toast no bagels, no fresh fruit just waffles, random cereal and apple and orange juice. Their coffee station poor. Only creamer they have available was powdered creamer in the little packets. Lastly, the homeless people in the parking lot ask for money and cigarettes was definitely uncomfortable. I would not come back to this location, there are better hotels for better pricing.

Very nice gentleman at check in, made the process fast and easy. The lady in the breakfast area was also very nice.
Room 218. Inspection found no insects in room, and no bad odor. Increased thermostat and it got warm quickly. Made coffee and used blow dryer, all ok.
The shower does not work. Water comes gushing out the bathtub spigot and it is very very hot. It will not drain sufficiently and I burned my feet before I could get out. Water that comes out of shower, however, is cold. Could not adjust it to medium. Water sprays out of the tub spigot sideways and sprays on the floor. The shower curtain will not cover the area to keep the water in the tub.. The shower curtain has something brown and black on it, as does the shower wall, I did not touch it. View outour window is a folded mattress. I hope there are no plans for re-use. Breakfast was ok.

Terrible customer service . Charged card 3 times . Was told would be returned due to thier mistake immediately was not . Shower was leaking under tub floor bottom so lost balance and fall . Mold smell .
