The hotel served a great breakfast, room was very clean and comfortable, staff (especially the man overseeing breakfast and the woman who checked us in) was very good, and the location was very close to the free trolley line. They also let us stash our luggage for the day while we explored the city -- our train wasn't leaving until 9 pm -- which was incredibly helpful. The hotel was just up the road from Union Station and WWI war memorial -- so convenient. Great place to stay!

Our room was immaculate when we arrived. Everything was very clean. The room had both a small fridge and microwave as well as a coffee pot all set to make coffee. The staff was very welcoming and kind! The free breakfast buffet with different hot foods each morning was very good and exactly what we needed before heading out each morning! The pool is small but very clean and is heated which was perfect for chilly March days. It’s located very close to a streetcar stop and is within about 10 mins (driving) of anything you could possibly get to. The late check out time (noon) is a huge plus! I would highly recommend this location for any trips to KC!

The night shift manager was very unhappy every shift. He questioned me on needing 4 clean towels for me & my kids. I drink 1 soda at night & he of course had a comment about that too “Guess you really like soda..” Not sure why I had to tell him that yes, I drink 1 in the evening. That was so odd as well. He questioned how many people were in my room when needing clean towels. I said 4 & then he looked straight at me & said loudly “FOUR???” - Yap, 4, just like we said when reserving & checking in. Not sure why having clean towels is an issue. It was such an odd exchange. Another guest walked up to him while I was checking out & told him, “Man, you never seem happy.”
FYI you need to request housekeeping or you don’t get clean towels or your trash emptied. Day shift workers were so kind & helpful. The hotel was clean & super convenient. The breakfast was great but they run out of stuff quick & we’re almost done putting it all away 15 mins early on our first morning.

Room was rund down, but motel is in the middle of a renovation. There is a $20 fee to pay in their parking lot that is not secure. There was an issue with homeless coming in motel. Staff was courteous but we could not inform them of our broken heating/cooling unit. They hung up on us when we called the desk, saying they were too busy to take our call and to please call back later. We simply had to put a towel on the floor to absorb the water that the unit was emitting.

After checking in, I left. I never even why to my room.
I was so uncomfortable with the surroundings
There were people wandering around the inside of the hotel, who were not guests there as well as people hanging outside in their cars and on the property. It was not a safe area. I would love to get a refund for the night or a credit to use for a future stay at Fairfield in a different location. I would also like a refund of $20 for parking because I didn't park for the night.

The room remodel was lacking. The toilet was not properly seated and would wiggle when we sat down. It would also continually run if not seated properly. And there were no hooks or towel bars in the bathroom. That room (236) definitely needed a once over.

My family and I stayed here following a Chiefs game. It is a small hotel and is currently under construction. The place was very clean. The lobby was nice and decorated really cute for the holidays. They have a small but mighty selection of food and drinks. It was probably the best hotel shower I’ve ever had. The bed was extremely comfortable. Our room had the most fantastic view straight to downtown Kansas City and it really looked beautiful this time of year. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was in a pretty convenient location. If you don’t mind that eye sore of some construction here and there, this checks all the boxes for a decent little hotel.

We had 2 reservations because we came in a day early. The room was not cleaned at all after the first day except the trash was taken out. They left the dirty towels, didn’t leave any clean ones, and did not make the bed. I asked for another trash can to be put in the room but that never happened. When I asked for towels, the front desk man ran up the stairs with them as soon as he could. I was amazed. I asked for a quiet room away from elevators and ice machines. We were on the front of the building right by the road and the stairs were across the hall from our room, which people used a lot in the evening. There was a vibration hum coming from the ceiling in the bathroom that must have been on the roof. We had to keep the door closed to be able to sleep and could still hear it. It was the smallest room I have ever had in a hotel. The bathroom was spacious and the shower had a wonderful water pressure in it. This hotel is under renovation so it should be better soon.

Will definitely be staying here again! I. The heart of KC super close to some of our favorite dining options. We got to stay in one of the renovated rooms and it was really nice and clean. Cost $20 to park, which I’m not sure why but i paid it nonetheless . We got a free goody bag with popcorn and waters upon arrival too. All in all, I’ve stayed at a few other hotels in KC and this one i will be returning to!

2 nights no parking at the hotel one night they waived the charge the next night got charged and to top it off I was told that if I couldn’t find a parking on the streets because of the parking was full people that were not staying at the hotel were parking there I paid 5 nights to stay there it was unprofessional and not convenient I don’t judge or critic Fairfield hotel because of one bad experience but I nos over $800 for poor quality

Great stay from check-in to check-out. Theus was warm, professional and welcoming. He went above and beyond to provide me with information about the city.

The room was clean and spacious. I appreciated the on-site parking. For my stay I was able to walk or utilize public transit but still had to drive to partake in certain places. It was nice not having to worry about parking.

The hotel was being renovated and we were not made aware. When we pulled in to park, there were boxes of toilets sitting right in front of oir parking space. There was tape on the floor around the elevator and lots of dust and scratches in the elevator. The elevator also quit working while we were there. Our room was nice and clean and comfortable. We look forward to trying ths place again once it is renovated.

criminal activity

three cars were broken into while parked in the paid parking lot with visible surveillance cameras. per the general manager, it is against fairfield inn (and parent company marriott) to notify law enforcement when crimes occur on their property. this is a dangerous precedent for encouraging all manners of criminal activity as well as both unsupportive and inconvenient to require all of your out of town guests with limited time frames to file individual online police reports (also a major flaw in the kansas city police department) with response windows averaging from 4 hours to 30 days. most stays do not have that level of flexibility. had the general manager called on behalf of his property and the three guests and vehicles affected, police would have been sent to the fairfield inn and been required to file reports on all three plus the establishment. instead they hide behind a policy that jeopardizes guest safety over the possibility of negative press associated with their branding and location. its not the cleanest or most luxurious place by a long stretch, but it is unsafe.

Some parts of the property was being renovated and it left the entire property a mess. Dirt and drywall all over the floors. The construction staff was also very unprofessional and extremely loud. I tried to do a conference call in my room and other participants could clearly hear the loud music, singing, and yelling done by the construction crew down the hall. It’s within close proximity to my destination of the federal reserve bank but I will gladly commute longer to avoid staying here again

I stayed one night so I could sleep since I had been staying with my child at Children’s Mercy (3 hrs from home) I wasn’t sleeping well since it’s a busy hospital which is to be expected. So I booked a room nearby at a Marriott hotel because I always chose these and have positive experiences. I had multiple issues here and when I tried to address the issues I was not treated respectfully or contacted back multiple attempts were made on my part.
The room was muggy and musty (took awhile to cool it down) no towels, soap or shampoo. I didn’t make an issue of it since I just needed peace and to sleep. But then it was very noisy outside, noisy guests in the hall the front desk not dealing with the constant running, screaming, knocking from this family. The ice machine is right by the rooms and very loud all night, the laundry room is close too and was being operated from very very early on and constantly from staff.The breakfast wasn’t refilled and i went early. I politely informed the worker and she ignored me then didn’t look at me and said ok but never refilled it. I told her no rush I just wanted her to know. I came back later and it still wasn’t refilled. I wanted to be able to sleep, have a shower, peace, and a hot breakfast since we’d been in a hospital during a scary situation with my very ill daughter. Upon checkout I let the clerk know and she didn’t act like she cared. Shady place, managers, workers.
No one has called back and Expedia agent tried and failed.

Hopefully this property is going to be updated soon - there were several boxes of toilets in the parking lot, so that’s a good sign. Our room was in the “annex” building so we had to go outside from main hotel and cross a walkway. Our room was right near the annex’s outer door and it opened and closed very loudly. All night long we were woken up when the door opened.

Hotel needs to be remodeled. First room 330 had black mold. Changed to room 201 Wall tile from bathroom falling apart , mold in bathroom ceiling , room smelled moisty , wall by ac unit has big hole. Bes were stained. Breakfast was good.

This location is undergoing a remodel, so please keep that in mind. While staying here, there was only one elevator in service and our room's bathroom door wouldn't latch.

The breakfast was great, the staff was kind, and the location was really convenient for our concert at the T-Mobile Center.

I'm sure after the remodel, this will be all 5 stars.

The room was so disappointing. I know they are in the process of renovating the rooms, the one we had was on the lower level and smelled musty as soon as we walked in. It is on the street level and about 10-12’ from Main St, so it can be bright and noisy. The lighting in the bathroom area is terrible. While we did have bar soap, the tub had two shampoos and no shower gel. Later in the evening, We appreciated the large breakfast choices.
