The lobby was nice. I am a single woman traveling alone and was put in a room directly opposite the elevators. The door had a half inch gap that I put a towel against to block the noise. The lock was a chain across the door. The interior was shabby and the tub didn’t drain as I was showering. I was surprised because this brand is usually better and the price gave me high expectations. Too pricey for what I got, which was essentially a three star hotel.

The balconies off the rooms were nice to grab some quick fresh air. The fitness center is open 24hrs. The restaurant was decent food. But it is an older hotel in need of some renovation and there’s really no other options besides paying for valet service if you have a vehicle. I would’ve hoped that valet parking be included with our stay but that wasn’t the case.

So, I’ve never stayed at a hotel or motel where I wasn’t asked how my stay was, or was everything ok when I checked out. Ever, even Motel 6 and Holiday Inn asks how was my stay. After I wasn’t asked and the woman who checked out us seemed to barely look up from her computer screen, I mentioned that she didn’t ask how are stay was. She then seemed to go thru the motions to ask, when I told her about a problem we had, namely, running out of toilet paper and Kleenex. That morning, before we checked out, we had no extra roll of toilet paper when we needed toilet paper. The Kleenex box maybe had four sheets left. I called the front desk at the time this happened, and we were delivered another roll of toilet paper some 40 minutes later after I made the call. That’s not right. The woman at the desk when I told her this, barely acknowledged the situation, barely looked at us, and off handedly commented she would let housekeeping know. No apologies. This did not sit well with us, didn’t leave a good taste in our mouths about the experience, and was unsettling and disappointing. The way the whole deal went down was not at all commensurate with what one might expect from a hotel like the Intercontinental, let alone really any place of lodging. I wish I would have asked to speak with a supervisor, but we were in a hurry, as we were in town to visit a very sick relative. Not good!!!!

The pool is great. Front desk guy when arrived was awesome. Just the cleanliness of the room when we arrived was not up to standard still had trash from previous people staying and seemed like noone checked the bathroom for soaps and towels cause everything was out such a a disappointment for the price i payed. Ive stayed at cheaper hotels and had better experiences.

Room was clean and staff was great!!! There was a leak in the room above mine and because of that some of my shower calling got wet and came down and I let the front desk know and they immediately got maintenance called and they worked on the issue and even asked if I wanted to move rooms, but I declined because we were leaving the next day. We were still able to use the bathroom and shower. Valet was great and room service was awesome!!! All around stay was great and we will be back.

Room was great! Lobby was amazing! The live music and fireplace really encouraged us to stay at the hotel longer than we thought we would! Only problem was when I checked in, my card was charged for the room at $140, and then the card was charged $100 for incidentals. I had paid for the room through Hotels.com. I am hoping my money will be refunded expediently!

The balcony view of the plaza lights close to Christmas was amazing. We enjoyed the concierge level benefits with breakfast in particular. The checkin/out was seamless and valet was quick despite being quite crowded, we did leave right at checkout time. Overall a wonderful stay

At check in there were 6 people waiting to check in, when one of the two registration staff simply left her post and didn't return, ugh. All other staff have been awesome. Room is clean, sink drain is clogged needs attention drains slowly. There is a hard desk chair, but no comfortable seating in room. When we stayed here recently there was an upholstered comfyy chair in our room to sit in.

The overall cleanliness of the room was poor. There were brownish red stains on the carpet. There was a brownish red smudge on the blanket on the bed. There were streaks of lotion or something running down the wall near the bathroom. When I went out on the balcony and looked in their grass there was trash and a dirty diaper out there. I had to pay to park, which is obsurd. The check-in staff was fine. However, every other intetaction that I had with the staff was not pleasant. Everytime we asked for something they acted like they were doing us a favor. I will not be going back.

Overall we had a nice time at this hotel and the room was quite large. The view of the Plaza lights was great. However, it is a very expensive hotel and there was visible water damage to the room. The sink bowl in the bathroom was severely cracked and the shower gel bottle in the shower was empty. I didn't notice these things until after we had unpacked so didn't ask to change rooms. I did show a photo of the dirt on the floor and water damage in a corner of the room to the lady at the front desk. She seemed surprised and showed a maintenance man who just commented that it was water damage from the HVAC unit. No sorry about that or offer to take a few dollars off our almost $300 hotel bill. Can't see being a repeat customer at this hotel due to the price and state of the room.

When I called the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City to request an early check in when I arrive, I was told that would be fine. However, when I arrived, they had no room for me and offered 3 sub par hotels 30 miles away with no compensation for travel, inconvenience nor apology.

The food is great. We did have to switch rooms twice. One had gnats swirling everywhere and a weirdly slow-draining sink. The next looked like I was walking in on someone’s used room. The third was the charm. The gal at the front desk checking in and helping sort out our issue had the most irritated affect. I assure you I am no “Karen” and asked very politely for help with our problem without any assumption on anyone’s part. Those issues are not the fault of the receptionist. She felt the need to mention she wouldn’t have given me a dirty room if the computer hadn’t had it marked “clean”. Maybe she had a rotten day otherwise. I don’t know. I likely won’t stay here again. I’ve stayed here before, so it was clearly good enough to stay again. It’s not a bad option. I simply will probably try something else next time.

The water was turned off one morning in the whole hotel so I was not able to shower, flush the toilet or wash my hands. Not good when I had a day of client meetings. At check out, the staff member brushed this off. I also asked for a receipt to be emailed to me and it was never sent.

Recently in Colorado last weekend and they were more friendly than here and that is disappointing because Colorado is typically worthless. Probably due to the fact that this location had more AA working and they tend to be less friendly to white people overall

The room was nice and clean enough. Reception staff was friendly and courteous. We had booked a room for 6 and when called around 9 or 9:30 to have extra bedding delivered for the pullout sofa, it took another phone call, a trip to reception and an overall wait of around 90 minutes to finally receive them. We also did not have enough towels but these were delivered promptly. As mentioned, room was clean - however, the trash cans in the hotel parking garage were overflowing on all levels. No one emptied them for the 3 days we were staying at the hotel.

The InterContinental is a nice property if you are looking to do some shopping/eating at the Plaza. I have to say it is just a tired older property that could really use some updates but the location makes up for it. Breakfast was really good and the staff there was excellent.

Gorgeous hotel. Love the balconies.

It was a very nice hotel. Needed a little TLC in the bathroom, but otherwise lovely. I tried closing the sink stopper, but it wouldn’t go all the way down, just almost. Then couldn’t get it open. The side of the sink area could use a little paint. Otherwise, everything was perfect.
