AC was great during the heat wave. The hotel was well located, had grocery stores and bakeries near by, the room was clean and the front desk was helpful. Only issue was the shower doors weren’t sealed so water pooled on the floor during the shower, but that was an easy towel up. I will definitely stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is perfect, with easy access to several metro stations, or perfectly walkable if you would prefer to avoid the metro. Plenty of restaurants around and the hotel itself was lovely, with Stefan providing us recommendations and explaining how to access each area of the city.

Was in Paris for 6 days for work/ friends trip. Hotel Glassglow was safe and in a central, good area. It is located in a small street, not a main one and gave us more privacy and less noise. The hotel staff cleaned our room every day and changed our towels. The AC actually worked and was great. Bed was really comfortable too. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was quick and easy.

We found Glasgow Monceau to be just what we wanted, clean, modern, tidy, staff lovely, our room wasn’t a courtyard view as advertised but really didn’t matter to us anyway, and even then I wouldn’t class it as anything worth noting and I’m sure if we’d brought it up they’d have moved us.

Our air conditioning wasn’t working, though that may have been us being unable to work it, haha.

I loved the area in the 17th arr and the Indian restaurant across the road is lovely for an easy dinner. Staff very impressively spoke multiple languages and the room was ideal, the bed was a dream and so comfortable, no street noise. Would definitely return.

For anyone worrying about cleanliness or turning up and having a bad experience, I’d say not to worry about this place, it’s a little gem.

Hôtel Glasgow Monceau is a fantastic little hotel with a great location, and a lot of character. The staff is exceptionally helpful, with Stephan and the new night guy as particular standouts. The breakfast remains my children’s favorite. Easy access to major sites as well as old world neighborhood character make this simple choice tops.

I traveled in Paris with my friend. We stayed at this hotel for four nights. The hotel is located in a quiet street, 8 minute walk is needed to the nearest metro station(malesherbes). There are some cafe and shops like boulangery(fast food), sea food, market, vegetables and wine shop. A man, who welcomed us at a hotel, was very pleasant and helpful, he gave us a map and marked all sightseengs we should have seen. At the time of booking, I made a special request to give us a room with twin beds and allocate us on an upper floor. we were given a room on third floor, but with double bed (receptionist told us they received the booking with the request of double bed and prepared for us the room with double bed, I showed him my booking printed, that I had with myself - a room with twin beds. He told us we should complain about it to the site hotels.com, but it wouldn't change the situation, as they had no room with twin beds). There is a small lift in a hotel, so we used it all the time having no problem. The room was small, but clean. There were some necessities in the bathroom, such as a shower gel, shampoo (only for one person) and towels (for both), unfortunately there were no slippers. Discomfort for the room was that there were no switchers near the bed and there was less light in the room.

I liked that the hotel was within walking distance to various restaurants. The property's wifi was terrible, the streets outside our hotel were noisy and so was the elevator. We were unable to call between rooms. Everytime we wanted to reach our daughter we had to go over to her room personally. Too much to list.

Je n’étais pas content, quand j’ai demandé au réceptionniste avec la queue de cheval si on pouvait avoir une chambre un peu plus grande, il nous a répondu que normalement vous avez une plus petite et on a fait une faveur et on vous a donné une plus grande et si vous n’êtes pas content vous aurez du prendre une chambre à l’hôtel Ritz 5*. Ce n’est pas du service à la clientèle ça et ce n’est pas des choses à dire aux clients. Quand on a quitté ma femme lui a fait la remarque, il a fait une grimace. C’est vraie que l’hôtel était beau ainsi que le petit déjeuner était varié. Je ne veux pas généraliser que le service à la clientèle est partout comme ça en France. Déjà pour trouver mon chemin vers l’hôtel une passante s’est arrêté sans qu’on lui demande et elle a utilise l’application Waze de son iPhone et elle nous a montré comment s’y rendre. Merci bcp à la madame.

We were visiting Paris for 2 nights with 2 separate couples, so we booked the adjoining rooms to have our own space. Check in was easy. The elevators is incredibly small. Our rooms were not joined, but across the hall from each other which was fine. Well, if you're looking for space - this certainly is not the place. The management photos are panoramic views of a VERY small space. You can barely walk around the room. The shower looks nice, good water pressure, but you basically had to soap up the walls and spin around the get cleaned because you didn't have much room to work with. The other couples we stayed with, their shower leaked so bad on the floor that you would have thought the place was flooding. We noticed our room only had 1 large towel. When we went downstairs, we were told that each room had 2 towels and to double check. Went and checked, only 1 towel. In order to get new towels, you must exchange the previously used one. The location of the hotel is good and the beds were comfortable. I would not stay here again. Pictures are incredibly deceiving.

It was ok, but wasn't exactly what we expected...

The rooms were much smaller than how it looks in the picture you see here! We had adjacent rooms, and unfortunately, one of them smelled very heavily of smoke. However, we had air-conditioning which we were extremely grateful for as the temps and humidity were high while we were visiting. They had a continental breakfast for an extra charge which was well stocked and had a lot of options. All-in-all, for the cost, I think this was an ok hotel. It was a ways from the main areas so we had to transit everywhere and it was a little bit of a walk to get to the transit stations. But, there were some good restaurants around that were within easy walking distance.

Warm welcome but experience went downhill from check-in. Not set up for twin room as requested, safe did not work (flagged to reception who did not fix it or make any reference to not being able to fix), nor did the air conditioning. We had no control over temperature aside from opening a window. Room pretty small and bathroom smelt of cigarettes when we arrived (no fan, window or ventilation). Wallpaper hanging off the wall in places but worst of all despite there only being around 6 rooms on the floor, the soundproofing was woeful and we were kept awake and woken up constantly due to guests coming and going. I stay in hotels a great deal and have never had such a bad experience with noise from neighbours. Location was ok, bus nearby, metro a bit of a trek. Overall very disappointed.

Pleasant hotel conveniently located in Paris

Hotel fairly basic - small rooms. But the staff friendly, the breakfast buffet sets you up for the day & the location is excellent in a quiet part of town but with good proximity to Arc de Triomphe and also to Moulin Rouge. Delightful local (non touristy) bars/restaurants in Villiers too - just 3 minute walk from the hotel. We would recommend the hotel and stay there again for sure of when exploring Paris.

Don't waste your money.

Terrible experience for three reasons. First, the smell in the room. It is supposed to be a non smoking room, but the smell was so bad in the room that I had to sleep with the window opened. The carpet was probably very old and the room occupied by people smoking. I don't think it was just the last occupant because the smell was really strong.

Second, the staff gave a key of my room to another customer. I was on the bed ready to sleep (after 10PM) when someone opened the door of my room. The customer was polite and closed the door, but how did they get the key of my room? What a mistake.

The staff was not very friendly. They never asked if I was happy with the room and my experience. I think this hotel is like many other hotels in Paris. They don't care about the customer experience. The demand for place to stay in Paris must be so high that they know they will find customers.

In addition, the building is old and you can ear people speaking in the other rooms. It is like camping in a tent.

I don't understand how this hotel received 3 stars.

Upon arrival everything seems falling apart. The room we have has a broken safe and broken cabinets. The room is also dim. But the worse of it all as we arrived, the room has no air conditioned. We asked the front desk and told us that the a/c is centralized. So, the only solution we have is to open our windows!..

Looking at the brightside. The restroom is modern and close
to metro. Breakfast is okay as it is included of what we pay. Otherwise, breakfast is 11 euro per person.

But there was no in room safe despite it saying on expedias website there was. i asked at reception and he said they had them before but go rid of them. some stuff i left at reception for safekeeping although it seemed like a cupboard rather than a safe but all was returned ok

Don't take the chance.

A real problem reviewing this hotel. The hotel is clean and house-keeping was good. The cleaning team was a bit too keen for my liking. It took a lot of persuading by my wife and I to NOT clean the room.Bedding and beds clean and comfy if a little small. Staff are extremely friendly and speak good English.
Breakfast was a typical continental type but the Expedia site itself is ambiguous as part of site states breakfast is included and other parts state that it is not and is an extra. Thankfully I printed off the part that said it was included in the price and so the hotel had to offer this in the price otherwise I think we would have had a dispute on our hands.
That is the positive and now for the negative part of the review.
Our air conditioning stopped working on the evening of arrival and up to leaving the hotel 4 nights later it hadn't been fixed. Main light in the room stopped working and again no fix. Hair dryer the same. All the above problems were reported but not rectified.
Tile fell from the wall in the shower and landed on my foot(ouch!) Curtain and rail fell as I opened the the window. electrical system seems to be a little iffy as exposed wires under the table caused a sharp intake of breath.
No fridge or mini bar but this was not mentioned in the add so an oversight by me and no bar downstairs to end a hot evening taking in the sights of this Beautiful City.

Nice hotel close to the train & bus station

It was a very nice stay until one of the receptionist guy asked me to pay extra 60 € and i complained he said ok just 30 €. Edel and the other asian guy with a long hair was very nice and accomodating except for that guy who asked for extra pay he has a very ugly attitude ( he's bald head and dark skin usually night shift). The filipina helper at the kitchen was very nice as well.

Hotel is ok if you are not fussy but it is overpriced compared to many alternatives. the room given was shown as very big in photos but reality was that as soon as you walk in less than a meter away from the door is the bed and that's it, with a en-suite which is quite compact. If price was less it would have been worth it but price is too much, specially since you have to pay for breakfast (€11).

One thing that put me off completely was the fact that the night I checked in one towel was already used and on the toilet seat with the soaps out of the box in the sink (seemed to be used also).

The staff on the other hand are helpful and polite. I asked where I could rent bicycle the night I arrived and in the morning he had passed on the message to the guy on the next shift who told me everything I needed to know.

By the way, room I was in has no view what so ever of anything. Just windows and brick. If you like a view from your window, not the place to go.

I would recommend if it's for a night stay though.

Good Value for Money

The hotel is a modern, 3 star hotel that delivers value for the cost. I were a bit concerned that the double room I booked does not mean a double room (as in connected). My youngest and I were at one end of the hall and my older two were at the other. If my children had been smaller, it would not have worked for us as a family. The hotel didn't have any rooms closer the night we checked in but since my children are older, we managed.

The Wifi was a bit spotty at times.

The staff is lovely and helpful. The neighborhood was great. It's conveniently located to Rue de Levis Market, Parc Monceau, other local parks, laundry services, shops, restaurants and public transportation.

Staff were nice. Hotel was clean. Very hidden little (LITTLE) facility. Overall experience was ok. Couldnt get housecleaning to leave air conditioning on. By the time we got back everyday our 6th floor room was miserably hot
! Had to take cold showers just to be able to lie down. Rest wasn't the best although the beds were comfy. close to Levi Markets and Villiers metro location.

Hotel Glasgow Monceau is the way to go!

My husband & I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, and we were not disappointed!! It is a 7-10 minute walk from the metro through such a beautiful and quaint Parisian neighborhood-- walking to the metro station was always such a nice stroll; we could never complain!

The hotel is located away from Central Paris, which of course made it much more manageable in terms of budgeting. By no means though did it show in the quality of their hotel & service! The front desk staff was always helpful and hospitable; in particular, there was a gentleman who said to call him Im that was always so helpful! Any questions about which metro to take or what place to go and eat, he had such helpful feedback-- always friendly and smiling, too!

The hotel is clean! Clean showers/bathrooms/beds/sheets/linens/everything! The only thing I thought was weird but didn't really mind was that whether or not you put a Privacy tag on your door, the maids always came in every morning to clean, make the bed, and provide new towels and toiletries while you were out. In the end though, we didn't mind because it really just goes to show that they really value cleanliness. Who has ever complained about a hotel being too clean?

Lovely hotel with easy access to Paris attractions

A wonderful long weekend spent at this hotel, staff were wonderful, very helpful, welcoming and polite. The room was small but expected for hotels like this in Paris, still contained all amenities required and was very peaceful and quiet overlooking the beautiful quaint courtyard. Hotel was very clean, modern and well presented. Ideally situated, plenty of bars and restaurants close by, 5 minute walk from the nearest metro station (very easy to use and get about on, don't be put off we used it the whole time and I didn't think we would use it once!!) The whole trip and experience was reasonably priced and worth every penny. Certainly a place and hotel I will return too!!

Ideal hotel for a short trip to Paris

Great little hotel in the 17th arrondissement. About a ten minute walk to the Villiers metro station. The hotel was close to a number of cafes and a small supermarket for essentials such as beer and wine! The room was small, but adequate, and the en-suite shower room was very nice.

The best thing about the hotel were the staff. As our baggage was delayed/lost, the staff contacted the airline and the airport for us everyday. Although I did speak French, their English was excellent and gave us recommendations for where to eat etc.

Also, coming from Glasgow, it was funny to see all the postcards from Glasgow in the lobby area. Would definitely recommend!

100% satisification to what you paid

This hotel is recently renovated so it's very clean and bright. Located in a prime location and 10 mins walk from metro. Friendly staff accepted early check-in and allowed us to keep luggage till evening on the checkout day. Very reasonable price given that it's in prime and good locality. Provided safety locker and bathrooms are very clean. I would definitely recommend.
Cons: Rooms are bit small but perfectly fine for a couple. (We booked a standard double room)

Convenient Hotel for a great city getaway

The hotel was very welcoming on our arrival; fairly easy to find and near to metro station. Bed was a little uncomfortable and air condition could have worked properly but otherwise a pleasant stay. Make sure you are aware of breakfast fees before you go was a bit of a shock but otherwise a nice continental feast and superb staff on hand. Wireless was weak in the room but was free. Definitely would recommend the hotel as was convenient and best priced through expedia.

The location is good which is only about 5mins to the nearest Metro. Most tourist attractions can be walked from the hotel depending on one's endurance. Only thing that could be improved is the availability of hot water flask in the room and perhaps some instant coffee. Other than that, hotel is new and clean, and very good location.

It took us a while to find this hotel, it is situated on an street off of a main street. Once we did find the hotel, the staff was very helpful helping us figure out how to get to all the places we wanted to see. The bus ride we took most often was a 10 minute ride to the Arc de Triomphe. Because this hotel is situated in a neighborhood, there are bakeries, meat markets, grocery stores and cafes all over. We enjoyed experiencing the 'living in Paris' feel. There is no elevator for half of the hotel, the side we happened to be on so we ended up carrying our luggage up an S curved staircase. The shower was functional however, a snug fit. We were very glad for the air conditioning on the hot Paris days we experienced. We would stay here again.

Not bad...

Construction was going on during our stay... however the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful. Cute decor. We stayed for 2 nights... only down side to the construction noise was the 2 twin beds pushed together to make a full bed. :(

Very Nice Hotel

This is a nice hotel for someone on vacation and just needs a reasonable priced place to stay in Paris. Easy to get to from Gare Nord, bus 31 which is outside the station and on the main street. Took us a few minutes to find the hotel hidden in a side street but once we had our location down the hotel is within walking distance of the Metro / bus / and trains. The hotel is clean, staff friendly and professional, and offers all the amenities one needs while away from home. Internet is available in the lobby, and TV in your room. This is not a North American style hotel, the room and bathroom are small but comfortable. I would only recommend the hotel upgrade its bedding (rough) and towels (small). You can purchase meals at the hotel, we had breakfast (continental) which was reasonably priced, and there are lots of bistros, restaurants, and food stores in the area. If I return to Paris someday I would definitely consider staying here again!

Good location, good hotel

The location is very convenient to multiple metro stops, many restaurants, and shops. You can walk to the Arc de Triomphe in about 20-30 minutes. The hotel is in a very pleasant residential neighborhood.

The hotel itself is also nice. The rooms are moderately furnished and on the small side, but that is normal for Europe. The staff is nice and helpful with tourist questions. The bathroom was very tiny, but it was good enough for a few days. There was plenty of hot water and heat, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was quite good, and it was served from 7:30 AM to 10 AM. The breakfast consisted of french bread, cereals, pastries, cheese, canned fruit, boiled eggs, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, and tea.

Overall, I would stay at this hotel again.

Sweet little place

Like the other reviews i found, the room was small as expected. Electricity sockets where a little hard to find, but after disconnecting the TV and the hairdryer i got 3.
What bothered me the most was the small shower. My height is 182cm, and taking a shower was a little technical. However, it did not affect my overall rating and i would highly recommend this place to everyone i can.

Nous avons trouvé facilement l hôtel.Proche des stations de métro et du bus, très bien situé dans une rue calme.Restaurant Indien que je recommande juste en face.Chambre et douche très petites, mais très propres.Attention,il n y a pas de bouilloire dans les chambres à disposition.Il est possible le matin de prendre juste un thé ou chocolat par exemple 6 e en tout pour les 2.Le petit déj est complet pour 15 e.A 20 min en bus de l arc de triomphe.Je recommande cet hôtel.

J’ai payé 120€ pour une nuit dans cet hôtel, pensant passer un séjour agréable à Paris. Quelle déception à l’arrivée ! Le réceptionniste m’annonce qu’ils ont fait une erreur de réservation : la chambre que j’avais réservée n’est tout simplement plus disponible.

Non seulement aucune excuse sincère ne m’a été présentée, mais le réceptionniste m’a proposé une chambre de gamme supérieure avec une attitude limite désagréable, comme s’il me faisait une faveur, alors que c’est leur faute à 100% !

Quand on vend un service à ce prix-là, le minimum, c’est de respecter la réservation et de traiter ses clients avec respect. Très mauvaise première impression. Je ne reviendrai pas, et je ne recommande pas.

Renoviertes Hotel im Kern von Paris

Das Hotel liegt relativ zentral gelegen zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten von Paris. Die Zimmer sind klein aber mit dem Nötigsten ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und es wurde ständig neu aufgefüllt. Bei Problemen wurde einem sofort geholfen.
