Basically room’s charged at a great discount approx two hundred a night just for the location and not for the comfort nor hospitality of hotel experience.

Staff was very friendly . We chose to stay on the bottom floor so we didn’t have to climb stairs. It was very quiet at night. We didn’t hear other guests or street noise. So much better than when we stayed in Times Square. We did hear workers and people at the front desk but that’s when I was already awake. Great accommodations for the price. Would stay again. Also, VERY conveniently located to the subway. One building away. Easy travel uptown and downtown.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the Subway line and Chelsea Market and Starbucks Roastery just a block away. The neighborhood is pretty safe. Our room was clean and comfortable. It had a little kitchenette with a sink, a coffee maker, a microwave. Shared bathroom was not a problem at all!

However, the rooms were very dirty, with years of dust gathered and heating could not be turned off. Walls were thin so you could hear everything. I wish I can get a refund there wasn’t any bathroom in my hotel room I have to share them with the other residents who are staying in the building and there were bed bugs and roaches I have several bite marks literally from ONE NIGHT

Fabulous location near the Highline, Chelsea Market, and so much shopping. Great place to say with a 9-year-old, we kept busy with playgrounds nearby, farmer's markets, and more. Nice that the rooms have little kitchenettes too. Only thing I didn't like was the mattress was very worn and sunk in the middle, so I couldn't sleep well here.

I didn't expect much, but certainly didn't expect to be staying in a seedy-like motel that was a bit above filthy. I had to apologize to my 14 year old for not paying more attention to the listing on Hotels.com and disappointed in Hotels.com for evening listing this hotel in the first place. I would give 1/2 star if there was an option. Shower didn't work, tub was dirty, bathroom floor was dirty, beds springs were worn down to so much, they both had an extreme lean to them rending both extremely uncomfortable. Etc...

Negatives - window blinds broken (no improvement in 6 years), tired decor, mattress awful (it was sunken in the middle).
Overall, a good option if you're on a budget but it comes with compromises. I wish they'd invest a little in the property and it could be so much better (please change your blinds so light can come into the rooms).

The property was relatively clean. It was overpriced but lower end for Manhattan. The room, furniture and bedding were worn out and were cheap. There were holes in the walls, missing fixture covers, non-functional outlets, and wifi not working. bed was barely holding together and bedding was synthetic and piling. I had alot of issues with my fight and management was totally unbending. Saying I would have to pay for the stay and would not adjust dates or provide a future credit if my flight was canceled. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our room had a queen bed and we were three, so they gave us a foldable bed for one with no problem. We did the check in early with no issues. The manager is really nice. There are two bathrooms in each floor and were very clean. There was a very cute cat that came into our room frequently. They have free umbrellas for 24 hours. We lost one of our keys and the manager gave us another one with no fee. Very good location and good price. Everything was easygoing.

Not a very clean hotel, bathrooms were not cleaned regularly and didn’t have hand soap or hand towels. The door keys didn’t work half the time and the check in staff was not helpful and did not explain the hotel (i.e bathroom location, hotel policies, etc). Would not stay here again.

In addition, the management was very accommodating. My husband was not able to climb stairs at this time, and they assigned us to a first-floor room without any hassle. In addition, we had to leave early due to a snow storm, and they easily refunded our second night stay without any hassle.

You get a private bath, great rates, and an unbeatable location with easy access to Chelsea and the West Village. There’s even a CVS and a subway stop right at the end of the block—so convenient!

This is a good and affordable location in NYC. We did enjoy the Pizza place, The Chicken, and the cookie places across the street, and there was a CVS right around the corner. This is an older location but has a rustic feel. Please be advised (as noted above) that there are no Elavators. Also, there is a kitty who stays in the hallways. The staff was friendly and the sharable restrooms are great, especially if you are sharing a room and need to shower or use the restroom if the one you have is occupied.

When we arrived it took over 30 min for any one to come to the door we call the desk number seven times and ring the doorbell the desk person was doing something in the laundry room he looked and saw us at the door but came to the door about 20 min later

Really hard to imagine recommending this \"hotel\" - 309 is really a just hostel to anyone with traveling experience abroad. 309 is really a rough ride - but it woul dbe better IF it had a more honest profile. I booked through Expedia - so it was probably that corporate site's fault, but it's not helping \"309\". If 309 was advertised as a great hostel/budget option in an amazing location, with absolutely no frills, ambiance, or extras, it would be cool. But it looks like it competes with other new pods and nicer offerings. It is not nice AT ALL but it is cheap. The people working there are VERY nice. But it's the kind of place that makes you wonder about bedbugs. The toilets on my floor (shared) were both backed up first thing on the first morning I stayed in the hotel. That's what I got.
