My check in was easy front desk staff was easy to talk with the room was neat and clean great amenities housekeeping make sure we were good on towels we book 2 days then i extended to another day their breakfast was also good for the price you get all amenities that your looking for in one place am most definitely booking another trip here

Great experience! Loved being able to check my luggage at check in and check out so we could enjoy the city without our bags the first and last days. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast that you’d expect and it was busy, but it was well run to keep things moving smoothly. Waiting for elevators and the busy-ness at breakfast wasn’t as rough as I anticipated based on prior reviews, but that could have to do with going in the off-season (early March). Room was very clean and the studio king with kitchenette had plenty of room for luggage. Staff was very nice and helpful. Location was absolutely perfect being right next to a subway stop on the 1 which was very convenient for exploring uptown or downtown. Overall great experience and have already booked for my next stay in NYC!

Did not realise that the staff did not book me in a city view (higher floors) per reservation. Beware of this!

I asked for a late check-out and then when I returned staff was cleaning the room! Luckily my pack was still there but my toiletries had been disposed of in the garbage and I was not going to retrieve them.

Overall the TownePlace Suites by Marriott is a great place to stay but I feel the staff messed up for me.

Staff did not book me in a city view room per reservation.

After checking out of the Hudson Yards Hotel that was actually a motel with sleazy vibes, this place was fantastic. The staff was very accommodating and professional with every interaction. I stayed on the 46th floor with fantastic views of the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden and the lights of Times Square. Room was small it clean and modern. Complimentary breakfast. In between 7th ave and Broadway train lines and buses? A few blocks from Herald Square.

This reservation was meant to celebrate a birthday, and we were extremely disappointed with the experience, especially considering how much we spent. The room was uncomfortably cold, the TV HDMI input did not work, and the balcony that was advertised and expected at booking was not disclosed as unavailable. We specifically chose and paid for this room because of that feature.
Additionally, being followed upstairs by security immediately after entering our room, and then again by lobby staff, made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Given the misleading advertising, unresolved room issues, and the overall treatment we experienced during what was supposed to be a special occasion...

I had a bit of trouble with the elevators during my stay—they were always out of order. I ended up using the stairs in a 40-story building, which was quite the experience! It seemed like the reception and administration staff weren’t too concerned about the elevators. Plus, the hotel managers didn’t seem to be very truthful about the situation.

The elevators are a real problem. I waited a few times for 30 minutes to get down from the 20th floor. What happens is that they fill up starting at the 43rd floor and then they go all the down. It needs to have some kind of a mind so that it knows you pushed the button before the family of five on the floor above you. Also, breakfast is not the best in NYC. The food is cold and the layout is mayhem. Will never go back. The mattress was good. So not a one star rating.

Was there for 10 nights. Breakfast - Ran out of milk, yogurt and it wasn't resupplied. Sometimes only fruit was apples and dried fruit. It was like the battle of the fittest to get to the food. It was crazy. The 4 elevators were a big problem. You had to push up and down buttons while waiting and just get on or you may never get on an elevator. During busy times like breakfast they need a person running each elevator. If it is full and no one is getting off then don't let t it stop at all the other floors. Again that was a night mare. Room - Bed was very comfortable, not enough light in the room though. I am not sure how they thought you could cook with no lights under the cabinets and no extra lights above. At night, you had to use your phone's light to see what you were doing even with having the other 2 wall lights on. That was not good. : ( Room Cleaning crews were wonderful, great job. Front desk staff were great. It took them a couple of times working with my ice gel packs to figure out where to store them and how someone else could retrieve them but they figured it out and where very kind to take my ice gel packs in the morning and then retrieve them from the freezer every night. They freeze very hard in my refrigerator/freezer at my house but there the gel packs were just very cold and slushy. Not sure what kind of freezer they have but it is not as good as mine. Location was great because Subway stop was right at the corner. 2 grocery stores within walking distance.

The room heat didnt work had 4 ppls come and try to repair the heat. Still didnt work had to be moved to another room. The new room had get someone to fix the heat once again. According, to the maintenance man they been having problems with heat company for weeks now.

Stayed Dec 13-17. Highest temperature with wind chill was 14 degrees. We had NO HEAT in our room. Called front desk and they sent up an engineer who reset the heat. We went out for the day and came in late and went straight to bed. Woke up freezing at 2am, no heat again. Front desk sent engineer up to reset heat. Went down for breakfast and then out for the day. Came back late that night and no heat. Front desk sent engineer up to reset heat. Continued until day 3. On day 3 we switched rooms. We went from 703 to 1310. We were ready to finally get warm. The room was warm when we entered and an hour later the heat went off. Called the front desk they sent up an engineer. The engineer said he had just worked on the heat in that room 2 days prior and had put the room out of service and did not know it was back in service. He reset the unit from the engineer closet next-door and said he was putting the room out of service again. We had to have the heat reset in that room three times on the third day and four times on the 4th day with late check out. After speaking with other hotel guest on the elevators and during breakfast, this was a recurring problem in multiple rooms throughout both Townplace Suites and Springhill Suites, as both hotels share the same building. We were given a partial refund, but it did not make up for the discomfort of not having heat. Will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend. Miserable stay. One positive was two floors of dining space.

The hotel was renovated 4 yrs ago, according to staff, and it was superb. The bed and feather pillows were amazing. Sleep is most important to me. It is a narrow hotel: my room shared a wall with an elevator. I never heard it the soundproofing is so good. I recommend the two rooms in between the elevators (xx06 and xx08) because they have a mini corridor with a second door to block noise from the main corridor. It was awesome. The down side was Tokyoesque storage for clothes, aka almost none. But you adapt.

Hotel seems fairly new and in good condition. First, the good. Excellent hot breakfast. The OK. Bed was comfortable and shower was OK. Bathroom was very small. Location was just OK. 28th St is crowded with plant companies displaying their products in the sidewalk and street. Street is almost always heavy traffic. The bad. Room is tiny. We rese3rved because of fridge in room. The kitchenette takes up over 1/3 of the space. Very small closet (about 14\" wide). No chest to put clothes in so if you are staying several nights you can't really unpack. Also no chair in the room Had to sit on the bed. Elevators are a joke. Only 4 for 46 floors and one was broken. We were on a lower floor. During busy times of day, the elevators going down fill up in the by about the 35th floor. Then you get a voice saying \"this elevator is full\" and it goes straight down skipping anyone waiting on a lower floor. Definitely would not recommend nor would we stay here ever again. Be careful when you book to look at the photos of the rooms.

Business Traveler: My room is small yet clean with a well equipped kitchen. The bathroom is clean with good water pressure and abundant hot water - shower only. Sound dampening is low. (If you need a quiet room, then this is not the hotel for you.) Typical free hotel food. Fortunately, there are many excellent restaurants within walking distance. The 28th Street subway entrance is just a few steps away, too.

Room is nice but small. There is a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, coffee machine and toaster. There is a long mirror, narrow wardrobe and huge tv.
Bathroom has a sliding door that has gaps either side - not ideal! Shower was ok. The flush on the toilet stopped working, when reported they fixed it right away and apologised, but it broke again!
Lifts - hit and miss, sometimes we waited at least 5 minutes for a lift from our floor, but didn’t wait too long from the lobby.
Free breakfast was nice, different choice each day and despite being busy we never had to wait for a table.
Free tea and coffee in the lobby, and snacks to purchase.
The reception staff were lovely and very helpful.
Overall the location is great! Nice street with lots of florists, and a subway station and each end of the street making it really convenient for any sightseeing you want to do.

Rooms are very small and not like in the pictures. Walls are thin so you have hear people getting on and off the elevator all night. Elevator takes 15+ minutes to take you down in the morning especially during breakfast hours. Room was clean. Location is convenient to subway and Madison Square Garden.

Everyone was polite and professional. The room was clean. The breakfast was satisfactory.
Our only issue is the room was extremely small, with no space to put our clothes or luggage. Basically had to place in the narrow walking and jump over our stuff all day. Additionally, the lighting is terrible.

This is my third stay and this is my go to place to stay in NewYork. Its in a fantastic location where the theatre district is a fifteen minute walk, great local shops and five minutes walk from Penn station. Rooms are well layed out and the kitchenettes a huge bonus. It is also very very clean. Really good gym and public areas. All team members are a delight. See you in February.

I had a mini kitchenette room. Absolutely no floor space, nowhere to stash clothes besides a micro closet. Cramped bathroom. Every room is too close to the elevators so you hear everything. The elevators could not handle the morning rush, causing waits of over 10 minutes. Worse if your room is on a lower floor. The front desk response was, “it’s busy this time of day”.

Room was on the smaller side, but decent size for NYC. Breakfast was chaotic and quite busy, but it was nice to be included. 3 minute walk to the 1 train. The only downsides were the elevators take forever sometimes, and the rooms are definitely not soundproof. We could hear people’s conversations in the hall when walking to the elevator. But overall, I would stay here again! Convenient, safe, and great staff!

It was a great location for walking around Manhattan, staff was friendly, room was clean. Rooms and bathrooms are very tiny - we got a King suite and still thought it was small. I guess this is normal in the city. Pillows were very flat. Great perk was that they have free breakfast and they had a good spread for a free breakfast.

Clean room. Convenient. Subways a block or less away. Cleaning staff and maintenance are very nice. Front desk workers aren’t as friendly but they aren’t rude. Air conditioning worked well. It was so great having a kitchenette in the room because I had leftovers every day. The remote control for the tv either had dying batteries or it was just hard to change the channel or turn up volume. It’s a much smaller room than you would get at hotels in other states that I’ve been to. I had to put my luggage underneath the table to really maximize space but I think this is a NYC issue because I went to other friend’s hotels and space was an issue too. They have a shuttle to and from airport. To jfk it was $80 plus whatever you decide to tip. Overall, great hotel. However, The biggest issue I had was that it was very noisy. I could hear whenever someone on my floor exited or entered their room. Doors slam hard and when people are strolling in at 3 or 4 am, it can be a jump scare. At first I thought people were slamming their doors but I realized it is just how the doors close even when you try to gently close it. I could also hear everyone’s conversations in the hallway. I couldn’t hear much from the street. All the noise was coming from inside the hotel. It wasn’t even like people were yelling. I noticed the door of each room had an opening under the door that is probably how some of the sound is getting in. This may be an issue for guests with babies and toddlers.

The room was very clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable and they offer several pillow options. The location is perfect for events at MSG and proximity to Penn Station. There was very little city noise and no noise from elevators or neighboring rooms. The room is small, but not unusually small for NYC. Breakfast was excellent and the fitness center is perfect for a short stay.

The staff was Great and helpful; the hotel is located in a great area (Times Square is walkable) and the commentary breakfast is good. The only thing you might not like is waiting on the elevators(which out of the hotels control), the rooms get HOT at night and stay warm during the day. But overall I would come back and stay…. But just bring a fan lol :)
