I recently stayed at the Aloft Hotel in Chelsea, NYC, and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The front desk staff were consistently kind, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Every interaction was pleasant, and they always made themselves available to assist with anything I needed. The cleaning staff were equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and thorough. Each time they serviced the room, it was left spotless and refreshed, which made coming back after a long day especially enjoyable.
I also happened to be staying during the blizzard, and the team was extremely accommodating during what could have been a very stressful time. They remained calm, supportive, and helpful, which truly made a difference. Their professionalism and warmth during such challenging weather conditions really stood out. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York City.

The room itself is fantastic! It’s spacious for midtown Manhattan, don’t know why people seem to think the room was small. The bathroom was a bit small but the space worked well.
The few things I will say, is the walls are paper thin, so if you have loud neighbors, you’ll hear everything. Also should note that they did not offer a complimentary breakfast even though the listing said “breakfast for 2”. I highly suggest “bagel pub” on the corner of w 28th and 7th, walking distance!

They have a bar downstairs, and there’s also a small area where you can purchase snacks and drinks, which was very convenient. The location is excellent — close to the subways and just a short walk to Times Square and other trendy areas.

The staff was friendly and they held our luggage before check in and after checkout, which was great. It was held kind of in the open behind ropes, but staff was always there and everything was safe. The rooms were modern and clean and had a fridge, coffee maker - all the basics you need. We did only have 3 towels for our 4-person room. The room size was rather small which we knew based on the square footage provided, but we had two rooms and one of them was laid out differently and it made it much smaller than the other. The beds in that room seemed more like doubles than the queens we booked. The beds were fairly comfortable, but the edges kind of sloped down and didn’t support well so you had to scoot in to not feel like you’d roll off. We asked for adjacent rooms and checked in early, but were given rooms on different floors. Overall a good experience as the beds were decently comfortable and the room was clean with friendly staff. I’d stay here again for the price, especially being near midtown.

Unfortunately, our stay at Aloft was pretty average. The lobby which was half-storage for suitcases, was chaotic. Front desk staff was kind. We were given a room on 2nd floor (201) facing the street, over the front door’s awning. The thermostat stayed at 69F and didn’t go higher. It was a a small room in which they had squeezed 2 queen beds. It had a tiny bathroom with no hooks to hang towels or enough shelves for toiletries. Though water pressure was good, it was very cloudy and could not drink it. The beds were comfy but it wasn’t a relaxing room to come back to after a busy day in NYC.

I don’t recommend this hotel at all. It rates at a 9.2 but I would say it’s a 2.9. From the check in to the check out it’s clearly a hot mess. So when you get there before 4pm check in they won’t give you a room which I totally understand and agree, but the big issue is there are no secure rooms to hold your baggage, so what they do is take your bag and store it up against the window with no security measures. How? Are you kidding? You store the bags against a window near the entrance/exit for people to steal?? Dumb… Ok, so now you get your room, which is for two people, only one towel? one high roll tp? no tissues? Ok? So I get it, it’s a busy holiday season, then maybe you need more help? Maybe the Manager needs to jump in and help? Clearly Victor was delayed in thinking of getting people moving into their rooms. Bottom Line… total failure of leadership and management, definitely would not stay there ever again. It’s a shame, oh well.

We stayed one night in early December. Walkable from MSG and in a safe neighborhood amongst a street full of florists. Lobby was festively decorated for the holiday. Front desk staff was friendly. We were not in the room much during our overnight stay, but we had a city view room and it was a decent size. Bathroom was a bit small, but I find this to be typical for most NYC hotels. Shower wouldn’t get more than lukewarm which was a bummer since it was so cold out and after coming in from being out all day, a hot shower would have been nice. Same thing happened in the morning - shower temp would not go above warm. Hotel kept our bags before check-in and after check-out without a charge which is always appreciated. It looked like they had a little snack bar/bar area which we did not use but good to know it’s there. Close to a subway station. Would stay again.
